Greetings, more Spooky Season greetings (also Happy late Halloween, everyone...hope y'all had a nice and spooky day even though Halloween came on a Monday this year), and welcome back to Blood and Love? Last time seemed to help set the stage for what can only be an interesting date. And just how will AJ and Kaitlyn's time together go? Read on to find out, and I hope you all enjoy, my dolls. =)
Watching as the end credits began to scroll up the TV screen, neither woman could seem to say anything.
Finally managing to find her words, Kaitlyn said "Whoa. Damn."
"Yeah, I'll say," AJ agreed. She wasn't quite sure what to expect when it came to watching some movies with this human, so it surprised her what one of the two-toned woman's movie choices was. "I never would've pegged you as one for watching something like Train to Busan."
"Well, I'm a bit of a geek for zombie movies. So, when some of my friends told me about it, I just had to find it on DVD and snag a copy. One of my best movie buying decisions ever," Kaitlyn said with a proud grin.
"I'd say it is. I never would've guessed a zombie movie happening on a train would be so good. Almost wish I saw it sooner."
"Well, you've seen it now, so you can mark it off your watchlist," the two-toned woman said, her grin still on her face as she took the DVD disk out of the player and put it back in its case.
"Y-Yeah. I guess you're right about that," AJ said, feeling a slight warmth start to climb her cheeks as she again felt her teeth start to itch. Clearing her throat and shaking her head a bit, the brunette then asked "So, what's next for our movie marathon?"
"Well, I figured maybe we could watch one of the movies I got tonight. One that I've been wanting to watch for a while now."
"And just what movie is that?"
Reaching down to grab her next movie of choice, Kaitlyn turned around to show her guest their next movie. "Ta-da! It's Dracula! The 1931 version."
Doing her best to stifle the laugh that almost escaped her at Kaitlyn's choice, AJ cleared her throat before saying "Huh. Can't say I've seen that one before."
"That makes two of us then," Kaitlyn said as she put the DVD in the player. Grabbing the empty bowls off of the coffee table, she said "Just let me refill these and then we can get to watching the Count."
"OK, cool. No need to rush," AJ nodded. As her hostess went about getting them more snacks, she didn't quite know how to go about feeding from her. Should she try to find a way to ease in to the feeding? Or should she just jump on her and feed that way, not caring about how messy it could be? …Well, however her feeding would go, AJ soon found herself back in the company of her hostess, bowls now full of popcorn in her hands.
"OK! Now, we can get to the movie," the two-toned woman said as she set bowls down before grabbing the remote and pressing Play, thus beginning their fourth movie of the evening.
Grabbing a few pieces of popcorn before eating them, AJ found herself fairly amazed by the movie. Maybe it was the movie's portrayal of vampires that caught her eye. Maybe it was the acting among the cast. …Maybe it was the belief that they had about the whole 'crosses keep vampires away' thing, something that almost made her laugh. All she could say was that Dracula was actually a fairly good watch.
"Damn. Bela Lugosi is killing it in this. Shame we don't have that many actors like him around nowadays. He doesn't even have to be too out there when it comes to some of his parts in this," Kaitlyn said as she watched Dracula make his way into the house of the woman he was after.
"Yeah. It seems like he was born for this role in a way," AJ agreed, watching as Dracula had a back-and-forth with the father of his intended bride.
"I'll say. Also, he was in a good number of other horror movies, so maybe that's where he got his acting chops," Kaitlyn said before eating a handful of popcorn.
"Really? Impressive," the brunette said. As she watched the movie and listened on to the random facts Kaitlyn would throw out every now and then, she couldn't believe she was thinking this, …but she was actually starting to feel a bit bad about her plans with this human. Sure she could just have her drink and leave after she made it worth Kaitlyn's while, but, if she could be completely honest with herself, …she didn't want tonight to end in a one night stand. AJ wasn't even aware of her crying until she vaguely heard Kaitlyn say "Hey, AJ? You okay? What's wrong?" Blinking as she rubbed one of her cheeks, she felt what she could only guess was a line of tears. Wiping away the evidence of her crying, AJ said "Yeah, I'm-I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I mean, I know Dracula getting staked was a bit of a bummer. But it had to be done before he could hurt anyone else," the two-toned woman said as the movie's end credits began to play. "I mean, I get that he was looking for love, but stealing a woman from someone just to be with her, …that's just beyond not cool if you ask me."
"Yeah, I totally agree with you on that. …It's just …that's not why I was crying."
"Well then, why were you crying? Still thinking about your ex?"
All AJ could do was nod with a sniffle, even though that wasn't entirely the reason why.
"Damn," Kaitlyn said. Not knowing what exactly to do in a situation like this, she went with her first instinct and, throwing an arm around the brunette's shoulders, pulled her close to her. "Don't worry, AJ. There are other people out there you can get with. I'm sure you'll find that right person."
She could vaguely hear what it was Kaitlyn was telling her. AJ had a feeling that maybe it was all some kind of "someone else out there" talk, but the closeness she had with the two-toned human, her voice, her scent…. Not feeling in control of her movements, with a growl and in what seemed like a blur, AJ pinned the two-toned woman down to the couch, something that got a startled yelp out of her.
"AJ! Wh-What are you doing?!" Kaitlyn managed to get our before she looked up at the brunette. She didn't know just why AJ tackled her out of the blue, but seeing her face now, she had a faint idea about just why: AJ wasn't that rough with her, but that didn't matter. What mattered the most at this moment were the fangs and red eyes she could see. Nervously swallowing, Kaitlyn asked "A-AJ? J-Just what are you?"
Tilting her head to the side, AJ couldn't help the slight scoff of a laugh that escaped her. "Well, Kaitlyn, we just watched a movie about one of the most well-known of them. How about you tell me what you think I am?"
Blinking around her surprise, Kaitlyn blurted "Holy shit! You're a vampire?!"
"Yep. In the flesh and blood I am," AJ said, a laugh escaping her at Kaitlyn's reaction. "You sound almost surprised."
"Well, yeah, duh I am! After all, it's not every day your movie watching buddy for the evening just admits they're a vampire."
"Hey, better I tell you now instead of you finding out the hard way."
"Hard way? Wh-What do you mean by that?" Kaitlyn asked, immediately starting to feel a bit scared.
"Well, …that way would've come about if you didn't let me feed from you in a calm way. …Let me just tell you that that way would've been way too big of a mess on a number of levels," AJ explained.
Feeling at first grateful that the brunette wasn't going to resort to methods like those, Kaitlyn then asked "So, …you mean to tell me that pretty much the only reason why we even had a movie marathon was just so that you could soften me up before you bit me?"
"In a way, it was, yeah. …But, that's changed," AJ said.
"Changed? How so?" Kaitlyn asked, starting to feel a bit confused.
"Well, …let's just say that maybe…. …Maybe I'm starting to fall for you a bit," AJ said as she climbed off of the two-toned woman. "I don't know. Maybe it's something that came from us both geeking out about stuff. I don't even know really."
She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Kaitlyn never would've thought in any number of years that firstly, vampires were real and secondly, that she would actually catch the eye of one. Blinking after she finally managed to find her words, the two-toned woman said as she sat up "Wow, AJ. I …I'm not even sure what to say about this."
"Yeah, I can understand that. After all, it's not every day you find out that vampires are real," AJ said, a soft laugh escaping her. Her laugh dying down, the brunette asked "So. What now?"
"'What now' what exactly?" Kaitlyn asked, feeling a bit confused.
"You know. Me being a bloodsucker and you being a human…. What do we do about this?"
"Hmm," Kaitlyn said, feeling a bit put on the spot with this dilemma. Should she tell the brunette to leave and face the possible consequences or should she maybe give dating the vampire a try? After weighing both possibilities, Kaitlyn finally said "OK, AJ. I've made my decision about this."
Well, it looks like the movie marathon went pretty well. Can't go wrong with movies featuring zombies (Train to Busan is SOOOOO good...one of my top favorite horror movies) and vampires (the 1931 Dracula is a pretty good watch...great stuff seeing Bela Lugosi bring the Count to life). ...But what's this? AJ seems upset about something. At least Kaitlyn tried to comfort her guest ...until the pinning and reveal of AJ's true nature. So, one talk later, Kaitlyn seems to be pretty chill with the fact that her guest is a bloodsucking vampire. Which now leaves her faced with quite a dilemma. One that she will answer...next time. So, until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, healthy, and warm out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
