The skies right above the lushes of greenery that made up the Emerald forest was as sunny and blue.

Peace surrounded the atmosphere . . . but that was eventually taken away by a bunch of students - the future of remnant - soaring through the air. A few screamed on top of their lungs, both from fear and excitement.

From there on. They'd prepare themselves. Positioning their bodies as they aim to make a safe and stylish landing. To each with their own strategy. Some made it safe while one was saved by being pinned onto a wall once again thanks to a certain red haired student.

Jaune really can't catch a break, now, can he?

And then there was another fateful student. Still soaring across the skies in a frantic motion as he was trying to come up of a way to land safely onto solid ground. And he has a very limited time to think.

"OH CRAPPPP!" Ceres Evergreen was screaming on top of his lungs. He scuffled into his bag to look for a weapon capable enough to save him from an inevitable harsh impact. But through his own junk. None of them seem to be any use for him in this situation.

That was until. He had come up with something.

"Alright Boom-Stick... Don't fail me..." Ceres prayed as he pulled out his hammer. His eyes locked towards the approaching tree. And sooner, he would smash it with his hammer. Resulting an explosive impact.

He hit it so hard that the hammer managed to stick itself onto the tree, which was exactly part of his plan. And with that happening. Ceres had finally stopped himself from falling by holding onto the hilt of his hammer.

"Phew..." he let out a sigh of relief. But sooner he would realize after looking down. "...now how am I supposed to get down from here...?" Ceres said. His legs and bag would dangle in the air while both of his hands were pretty much occupied.

This was quite unfortunate for him...

And to add that up. The hammer stuck onto the wood was slowly getting loose. With widened eyes. Ceres feared this exact moment.

With an audible crack. The hammer head popped out of the tree. Which resulted Ceres inevitably falling onto the ground. His back met a harsh impact against the solid ground. Causing him to grunt in pain.

His hammer luckily landed next to him.

His bag... However... "OOOF!" Landed right on top of him. Considering the contents inside of his bag were filled with his weapons... This had got to hurt. "M- My.. Dignity..." Ceres wheezed in pain.

A moment of agony later. He shoved the bag off of him. Grunting as he sat up, rubbing his head. Ceres scanned his surroundings. Surely enough he was in a clearing within Emerald forest.

His gaze would pan from left to right to see if he could see anyone in particular. But no... It was just mere silence. No one was in sight. It was just him in this area. "Landed in a pretty quiet area... No signs of life anywhere... Not that I'd have any complaints."

Picking himself off of the ground, he then proceeds to gather all of his stuff from the ground. "Huh... Surprised that you didn't break after that fall..." He commented as he picked up his hammer. It was still intact.

"Head to north... is what he instructed..." Ceres muttered. Looking up to see the position of the sun and where it is moving. "I'm no genius, but I know for the fact that the sun starts out on east then sets on west..."

"So..." He pointed with his finger. Grinning to himself proudly. "North is definitely this way." Ceres said before walking off towards that direction.

Adjusting his bag over his shoulder. Ceres realized something. "Who will I be teaming up with?" He asked the question. It is said that students will only be teamed up on the spot the moment they make eye contact with another student.

"Hm... I can think of a few people that I've met up so far..." He pondered as he continued to walk. "That blonde guy wearing a stupid armor... Definitely not considering him." He thought. Ceres still recalled that time he vomited on his boots.

He never found that pleasing whatsoever.

"hmm... there's that dark haired girl from the other day... she seems nice... Though she was looking at me weirdly that one time... so I dunno..."

"Hmm... that snow white girl..."

. . .

. . .

"Definitely not a chance." Ceres scoffed. "There's also that girl from last night..."

. . .

"yeah... never mind... she's weird.." He digressed the thought after some careful consideration. "There's also that guy that she's with. But I don't know him..."

Then Ruby - that red hooded girl from weeks ago – came into mind. To which he immediately shook the thought off of his head. "Definitely not her." Ceres still seem to hold a rather childish grudge towards Ruby Rose.

Then all of a sudden. A loud growl echoed throughout the entire forest. Ceres stopped in his tracks then turning around out of caution. Pulling out circular blades from his bag. "W- What was that...!?" He said in a panic as he scanned around the area to look for the source of that disturbing noise.

Then literally, Ceres startled as he outright threw the two blades towards a random direction after he had heard an audible rustle within the bushes.

To which ended up being an innocent crow.

"oh..." He let out. "That was... stupid..." Ceres sheepishly chuckled. "You scared me there little guy. Couldn't you like... Caww? Like you would?" He asked as he leaned down at the bird. Of course, he expected no response at all.

He lifted his head. Noticing something weird. "Huh... that's odd... Those blades should've come back like how I intended them to be..."

[ Meanwhile ]

At the farthest depths of the Emerald forest. A blue haired girl was navigating her through the forest with a quick pace. With ease, she'd leap from one branch to another. Then pause to scan her surroundings. And then repeat.

She would glance around as she travels through the forest. "Can't seem to find anyone just yet... perhaps they're already at the ruins?" She pondered.

Eventually, she'd halt her running when she encountered a beowolf just as she reached a clearing.

"Oh dear..." A sweat would trickle down her forehead. She'd ready her iron gauntlets as a means of defense.

Then she noticed that the creature wasn't alone. In fact, it was a pack of beowolves surrounding her in every corner.

Clutching her fists. Despite the sheer fear coursing throughout her body that's caused by the mere presence of Grimm. She was still determined enough to fight. "Show me what you got." despite her whimpered voice. She did her best to make it sound so brave.

As the first beowolf began to pounce onto her. Before she could even plow it with her gloves. Suddenly, a glint of light catches her eye.

To which all of a sudden. The pack of beowolves were sliced in half in seconds as a speeding blade flew by. Fortunately, the girl was saved from being cut in half by the two blades as it just flew pass her.

With widened eyes of shock, she fainted.

An armored man came running into the scene when he heard the noise. "Hello? Is anyone here?" His eyes wandered about before finally noticing the unconscious teenager on the ground. "Woah! Are you okay, Madam?" he would run up to her to check if she was injured anywhere.

Thankfully, there were no obvious scratches. But she was definitely out cold due to immense fear.

Meanwhile on another area of the forest. A pink haired maiden made her way through the lushes of greenery. With her rapier in hand. Her eyes would scan from one place to another, keeping her guard up while still being so calm and collected.

A gentle breeze flew by her to which she paused. Standing still. Her hair swayed by the wind, eyes closed. The female tightly gripped onto the hilt of her weapon, holding her hand in place as she was about to take action.

"A terrible way to expose yourself." She said, turning around immediately and swung her sword just in time to prevent a Grimm's giant claw from hacking her to pieces. "Foolish."

Right before her is a beowolf, three times her size. Even with this creature's intimidating gaze. To her, she was unfazed.

She raised her sword, ready to strike once again.

The creature of Grimm roared before swinging its claw to attack the student. Unfortunately, she managed to dodge quickly by rolling to the side. Immediately getting up from the solid ground, she dashes forward to attack.

She'd swing her leg to strike it's noggin towards the side. Striking its stomach this time by swinging her rapier right across. She'd do this in a fury of swipes to which angered the Grimm.

Before it could attack her once more. She knocked back the creature with a swift kick. Knocking it a few meters away from her.

Momentarily, it got back up. Shaking away the dizziness. The creature growled in anger as it showed its pointy fangs.

Meanwhile, the female's gaze unwavered. Demeanor unchanged. "A creature such as yourself lacks any merit..."

As she said, the creature began to rush towards her. Aiming to kill her off with its mouth.

As it came approaching her. The pinkette turned her rapier. The bottom of it's hilt pointed towards the creature. And then, a hole appeared with a trigger appearing right on top.

"...you're wasting my time." The hilt was pointed right towards the beowolf's opening mouth, before eventually...

*CLICK*

*BOOOOOOM!*

Pieces of the once walking beowolf were flying through the air as a massive explosion almost wiped out the entire forest.

"AHH!" Ceres Evergreen was startled when he heard that loud explosion echoing throughout the forest. He quickly turned around to see where it came from, but all he could see were a flock of birds flying away. "W- What was that...?!"

Then from the distance, he could hear a voice of a male screaming in fear. "Huh?" He let out, that came from the north. The direction he was taking. Thankfully, he reconsidered ever trying to check out where that explosion came from.

He was not sure what to expect if he ever finds it. So he needs to stay safe. "Is that smoke?" Ceres said when he looked up to see a smoke rising. And it did not come from the same direction where the explosion came from.

"Okay... I'm guessing it's just the others fighting... whatever they are fighting... Each other, I guess? Wait... are we even allowed to kill each other?" He pondered as he continues walking forward.

. . .

"Hmm... probably not..." He concluded. "If that were to be the case, then there must be something else lurking here other than us." He looked back from behind him to see if there's anything following him.

But there were none. "I guess I'll inevitably find that out sooner..." Ceres muttered.

Unbeknownst to him, a couple of intimidating eyes were watching him from behind.

[To be continued ]

A/N:

I'll be reworking on the first two chapters soon because it felt a little lackluster for me.

But anyways. I also want to rework on the introduction sequence since I think it lacks any sort of consistency later on into the series... If you don't understand what I mean, I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

That's all for today, this may have been short. But I'll do my best for the next one.

If you have any questions. Don't be afraid to ask. Any criticisms is accepted except anything that is toxic. That goes down the drain.

Peace out people!"
