Chapter 27. America and a mysterious cave.
When they arrived, Jakob noticed that they were inside a square-like building. He looked up and saw that the roof stretched up so high that he could not even see it. The curious Slytherin boy then turned his gaze down, seeing wizards and witches that were passing them by. Their clothes were different from what he was used to seeing, but he guessed it was fashion here in America.
Most of them were so busy that they did not look over at them, but one man with a blue costume and a hat walked over to them.
"Welcome to America and welcome to MACUSA. My name is Elliot Alves."
Lucius shook the man's hand, and the American gestured for the group to follow him.
"As an honoured guest in our country, you will be taken by carriage and thestral to the resort where you will be staying. If you have any questions feel free to ask them." the lord and lady Malfoy began talking with the man about the plans. At the same time, Jakob tried to keep up while seeing the different things.
He saw a big crest with an eagle and the American flag. The text read. Magical Congress of the United States Of America.
He guest he was in the American equivalent of the ministry of magic.
He looked forward, seeing statues of people holding their wands in attack mode further ahead.
"Excuse me, Mr Alves." the man turned as they walked, and Jakob continued.
"What is the meaning of that statue over there?"
The group all turned to see what Jakob had pointed at, and the skinny man smiled back at him.
"When America was founded, wizards and witches from all over the world travelled here," he said, motioning them towards the big statue and continuing when they arrived.
"There were a lot of criminals who came here trying to hide, and a group formed and started to hunt them down. Taking a self-proclaimed role as Aurors."
"Is that them?" asked Draco looking at the different statues.
The man chuckled.
"No heir Malfoy, they might have had good intentions, but with total power, people get greedy. With no government to keep them in check, the scourers became worse than the thing they swore to fight. That, in turn, led to the witch trials you might have heard about."
"We have planned to go to Salem," said Pansy and the man nodded with a smile towards the girl.
"See that you do, young miss. But be careful there. A lot of dark magic and torment souls are still present."
He then continued his story.
"When everything seemed hopeless, MACUSA was formed. These brave heroes took up the mantle to be the first true Aurors and fought for the freedom we all can experience today."
Jakob was impressed and slowly walked over to the sign that showed the names of these heroes.
He did not recognise the names except one which made him frown.
Abraham Potter.
The group then continued to an elevator that took them high up in the building. When they had stood there for a while, the doors opened, and the group walked into a room where a black carriage awaited them.
Jakob looked further, seeing that the wall that was supposed to be Infront of them was missing, and the floor continued out from the building.
They all went over to the carriage, and the Quade heir saw the six thestrals that stood in front of it.
"Where are the thestrals?" Asked Pansy, confused as Jakob walked nearer to one of them and reached out his hand, patting its snout.
"Only one who has seen death can see them," he answered as he stroked the empty air."
Pansy, who understood why Jakob could see them stepped into the carriage with the rest except Narcissa, who waited for him." Jakob went over to the small sets of stairs leading into the carriage.
"How is it you can see them, dear?" Asked Narcissa.
Jakob shrugged.
"I don't know, actually. But they are beautiful."
"yes, I can see that." The mother of Draco looked over to the skeleton-looking horses and gave them a sad smile.
When Jake walked inside, he noticed that there was an expansion charm Making the cart look like a small room with windows looking out. Beside every window were two seats, and Jakob saw the two boys sitting in the middle, looking out through one of the windows. Jakob sighed inwards. Could they not include her just a little? Why do they act like a married couple? Jakob turned his irritated eyes towards Lord Malfoy. The latter sat with his back against them, looking out through a charmed big glass window on the front side of the carriage.
Jakob gave the boys a nod while he walked to the back of the carriage and sat beside Pansy, who discreetly took his hand in hers. She sighed in relief as her fingers intertwined with his and leaned back.
"The ride is 7 hours, so make yourself comfortable. Drinks and snacks will be served if you think it, and lunch will be served in one and a half hours and dinner in five. Said Alves as he stepped halfway inside the entrance of the carriage.
"won't the muggles see us?" asked Draco frowning in confusion.
The man laughed and answered.
"No-maj are not the smartest people and will not see you.
Have a pleasant stay and enjoy America."
The man tipped his hat towards the lord and lady Malfoy, who gave a nod back.
"No-maj?" asked Draco frowning at Theo in confusion.
"It's another word for muggles," said Jakob further back, and the two boys turned, which made Pansy cloak their hands inside her robe as she looked out through the window.
"How do you know that?" Asked Theo surprised.
Before Jakob could answer, Draco rolled his eyes towards his friend beside him.
"Jakob knows everything. He has surely read all about this country already."
"As you should have done, Draco." said the lord Malfoy without turning around.
Draco looked to Jakob for Help, but Jakob raised his free hand to gesture. How?"
The carriage suddenly took off, and everyone jerked as it started rolling forward.
They saw that the floor was almost ending, and suddenly they flew into the sky. Jakob, who sat beside Pansy, leaned in to watch through the window and saw the Woolworth building as they left it behind.
They all watched the world of New York, and the different large skyscrapers that rose got smaller as the carriage ascended higher up in the sky.
"Did muggles build these buildings?"
Asked Pansy Jakob in a whisper.
He nodded an answer and gave her a look, and whispered back.
"You see what I mean?"
She nodded and thought back at the picture he had shown her of the nuclear bomb, and Jakob felt her hand squeeze his a little harder.
The city soon disappeared at an amazing speed, and soon they were above the clouds.
Soon lunch was served, and the room transformed into a dining space
They all ate with delight as the carriage maintained speed.
"Father, why did we choose this way of transportation?"
Lucius looked at his son for a moment and then continued to cut his stake.
"Because Draco, this is one of the many honours that MACUSA has granted us. This kind of travel is usually only granted to higher-status employees in MACUSA, but as I have contacts here, they have been sure to show us the proper respect."
Draco looked surprised, and so did the rest of the teenagers.
After lunch, your mother and I will close our section and don't wish to get disturbed. Is that understood?" Draco nodded and continued their lunch.
As the day progressed, Jakob sat and read the book that had been gifted to him by Bellatrix. He noticed that the further he read, the harder the spell chains became and workout exorcises.
"What are you reading asked Pansy, who was also reading but Witch-weakly instead of something useful, believed Jakob.
"A book about how to get stronger. Answered Jakob flipping a page.
"every book you read is how to get stronger." she sighed, and Jakob lowered his book and smirked.
"I could read a book on how to tickle someone better if you wish?"
Pansy rolled her eyes and lightly slapped him on the shoulder with her magazine but could not hide the smile she got when trying to focus on the newest gossip.
The day became evening, and soon they arrived at their location.
The carriage stopped, they all got out, and Jakob noticed sand under his shoes and the sundown to his right.
The weather was warm, and palm trees littered the beach they were currently standing on.
"Welcome to Hawaii said Narcissa with a smile towards the teenagers, who all looked around in awe.
"This is definitely not something you would see In our country," said Draco and looked around.
Mr Malfoy removed his wand from his walking cane and waved it around. Making the sand form a solid road. Mr and lady Malfoy started walking towards the big white mansion with round pillars holding it up. Everyone followed, and Jakob glanced at the beach one last time before hearing Pansy call for him. He followed the group up into the forest, where the mansion stood proud.
When they arrived at the entrance, they were met by a line of house elves dressed in different clothes. One was wearing chef attire, and another a maid costume.
"three of the house elves rushed towards them, collected their bags and snapped their fingers in unison, disappearing. They walked inside the entrance and were met by a white marble floor. Jakob could see a dining room that had opened windows that stretched from the bottom all the way up to the ceiling around it. Showing the forest behind it.
Two spiral stairs were shown in the hall, and Mr Malfoy turned towards the group.
"This be our home for the coming two weeks. I have been informed by Jakob about the different journeys you will take and have taken care of the arrangements. Me and Lady Malfoy, do not intend to watch your every move, seeing that you all are now growing up and must take care of yourself. Take these coins."
He handed everyone one golden blank coin.
"If you need aid in an emergency on your travels. Hold this in your hand and say Hawaii. It will teleport you right back here. This is not a toy and is very expensive. It will only work once, so don't use it if you mustn't." The teenagers who thought they would only get some freedom looked like it were Christmas, knowing they were basically on their own, doing what they wished.
"Thank you, lord Malfoy," said Jakob and the rest followed suit."
Narcissa smiled, knowing that she and Lucius would get some well-deserved rest and having Jakob with Draco and the rest meant that they would be safe.
"Your rooms are located on the west side, so you have two rooms down this corridor and two more up that staircase." The lord Malfoy then turned, walked away with his lady, and left the teenagers in a circle.
"Should we do like in school?" asked Theo looking at them all, shrugging.
"I don't mind," said Pansy Glancing at Jakob, who looked over at Draco.
"You okay with that?" he asked Draco, knowing that the blonde had been down after Bella took so much time from him.
Draco nodded and gave him a slight smile.
"yeh, you?"
Jakob smiled back and nodded.
Pansy yawned and stretched.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired after the trip."
The boys agreed, and they all said goodnight. Jakob walked upstairs with pansy while Draco and Theo went through the corridor downstairs.
When Jakob had walked up and walked a meter, he took out his wand and started to chant for a few seconds before turning around and seeing Pansy frown.
"let me guess. You made a ward that will knock someone down the stares if they come up here?"
Jakob chuckled.
"No. I just made it, so I will notice if someone passes through here. You really thought I would push lord Malfoy down the stairs?"
Pansy giggled and turned to walk inside her room, and Jakob took the other one further in. When he opened it, he saw the white marble on the floor and walls covering everything in a white glance as the torches outside shined in.
There was no window glass, and the bed was as big as his own in Malfoy manor. A white desk with ink and a quill was placed on the right side, and he saw his bags beside the white wardrobe to his left. A bathroom was visible to his back left that had no door. Only a carved-out entrance.
Jakob walked inside the bath space and saw A big white bathtub with a golden crane taking up most of the area. A shower head was in one of the corners, and a toilet with a sink was stationed to the left side of the bathroom.
He unpacked his things, and when he was done, he looked over to his door. He stepped inside his bag and walked over to a bookshelf in his second room.
He picked up a book and walked out again, waving his wand at the door and chanting while burning the runes into the door.
He nodded as he saw the snowflaked-shaped ward and then voiced.
"house elf." an old female elf popped into existence and bowed.
"I need you to not fix that door before we leave. I'm willing to pay if you want compensation, but don't fix it. There will be another one in the room beside this one, and the same goes for that."
The old house elf looked over and then back at Jakob, nodding.
"And do you tell anyone what you or the other house-elves see here?"
The house elf shook her head in answer.
Jakob nodded.
"Good, that will be all." she popped away again, and Jakob, who stood in his boxers, smiled as he turned the ring down towards his palm.
He took a breath and held it. He sneaked out of his room, quickly opened Pansy's door, and stepped inside.
The girl frowned as she saw her door opening and closing, and she whispered.
"Jakob?" the boy let out a breath and became visible.
Pansy, who had switched to a blue bikini-looking top and matching silk shorts, looked surprised and let go of the things she was currently unpacking. She rushed towards him and jumped into his embrace.
Jakob caught her, and her legs wrapped around his waist as they hugged each other.
"You really missed me, huh."
The black fringed-haired girl nodded and held him closer, which made Jakob understand that they never had been this close before.
Sure they had been sleeping in a bed and hugged like this before, but Pansy usually had pyjamas or clothes. He felt her warm skin touching his, and he could feel something pressing towards his chest that made him understand that she was growing. He got wide eyes for a second and decided to gently put her down on the marble floor and turned towards the door, making the same ward to think of something else. When he was done, he turned back to the girl who was waiting for him, a bit annoyed with her arms crossed.
" Um, Pansy, Were is your Pyamas?"
The girl raised an eyebrow at him.
"I stopped with it. A bit childish, don't you think?"
"Then what are you sleeping in?" asked Jakob, confused?
"This?" she gestured at her body, and Jakob's pinched his nose bridge.
"Is that going to be a problem, Mr sleeping only shorts?" asked the girl, grabbing his hand and guiding her towards their bed.
Jakob knew she had a point. Pansy let go of his hand and threw herself on the bed.
"I'm so bloody tired. Don't get me wrong, I loved the carriage and everything, but it made me really sleepy."
Jakob lay down beside her, and The girl turned towards him, took her usual position, embracing him like a long pillow.
"It's so good being back here." Whispered the girl and yawned.
Jakob, who was trying not to think about their situation and knew that he only needed to get used to it, nodded in reply.
He turned his head to the side, looking through a window where the trees were lightly swaying with the small breezes. Pansy had opened her right eye and observed the red cheek he showed, and she smirked.
"Goodnight, Jakob."
"Goodnight, Pansy."
The next morning, Jakob Got up before Pansy and returned to his room. He saw that the sun was just about to rise and knew he had some time for training.
He took on his training clothes that Bella had been nice enough to gift him and walked outside. He looked to his right and saw the beach go on for a while. The stretching boy shrugged and started to jog in the sand, feeling like this workout would be harder than the one he had done in the Mafloy basement. He took it a little easier, this time taking in the sound of the ocean. After ten minutes of running, he saw someone who was out on their own morning run. When they passed each other, he saw that it was a muggle woman. He deduced this by the colourful shorts and tank top. She also wore something on her ears that had a string going down to a round thing that was hooked into her shorts. As the blonde woman passed him with something and sang in a low voice Jakob stopped and looked curiously at the brown-haired woman who continued on her way.
He had seen Muggles from far away before but never so close. He was about to take out his wand when he heard a voice. He turned his head and saw four others carrying bags and a big umbrella. They looked like a family. The mother and father looked like typical muggles he had seen in one of Hermione's magazines, and then he glanced at the two children.
The little boy looked like he was around seven years old, while the girl looked like she was about to start Hogwarts.
"George, stay with your sister. Mommy and Daddy are going for a quick dive," said the mother, putting down her bag and rolling out a towel on the sand.
"But why do I have to stay with him? He can take care of himself." whined the girl to her father."
"Because you are his older sister Olivia and thirteen now. It's time you start acting like it."
Jakob stared at the girl in shock. Thirteen? Even Ella looked older than her. Maybe it's because she is a muggle? How can they be a threat to us?
Jakob slowly walked towards the girl who was sitting on the sand with her little brother playing a few meters in front of her.
"Hi, my name is Jakob. What's yours?"
The girl looked up at him, and her eyes widened as she took in the picture of him. she looked down at the sand, almost embarrassed.
"My name is Olivia... what about you?" she questioned, glancing up at his eyes again with awe.
Jakob put on his charming smile and sat down beside her.
"My name is Leo. I overheard your father saying that you were the same age as me?"
The girl looked at him again in surprise and then switched to a questioning look.
"You are thirteen? You look almost like you were fifteen or sixteen."
"Yeh. you would not believe how many times people have said that." chuckled Jakob.
He got up and gave her a smile that made her cheeks flush.
As he was turning around, he heard her say.
"Wait..." he turned back towards her, and she looked around before asking.
"Umm... Are you staying here? Will I see you again?"
Jakob sighed inwardly and looked over to her muggle parents, who were swimming further into the ocean.
"I don't think you would want that," Jakob answered and gave her a smile, which made the girl frown in confusion.
"Take care, Olivia." he then turned and began to jog back to where the summer mansion lay. Olivia stood up, watching the boy leave, thinking he looked like something out of this world.
With how she talked to me, It seemed like I was the one that seemed unnatural, so that must mean that muggles age differently than us Magicals? Interesting. He thought while the beach took him back to where he had begun.
When he returned, he noticed that the sun had fully returned, and Jakob looked at the ocean before him. He grinned while taking off his running shoes and dove into the cool water.
When he got out of the water, he took off his shirt, squeezed out the water, threw it over his shoulder, and began ascending the stairs to the building. Jakob saw that Lucius and Narcissa were eating breakfast and dressed according to the weather. Lady Malfoy looked up from her magazine and smiled as Jakob walked towards them.
"God, morning. Did you sleep well?"
Jakob nodded, smiling back.
"yes, it was wonderful. But I saw something on my morning jog. I saw a family of muggles that were going for a swim."
Lucius lowered his paper in disgust.
"Were? do we need to take care of them?" He asked Jakob, who shook his head.
They were just passing by, but I overheard a conversation and got the understanding that the girl was as old as me."
Lucius shrugged his shoulders?
"So?"
"She looked like a first-year. Like she was eleven. Do you know why muggles age differently than us?"
Narcissa was about to answer, but Lucius was faster.
"They age slower in the beginning because they mature slower. They then age faster and only lives to 100 if they are lucky. Muggles do not have magic, and that is shown in their frail bodies. They are slower, weaker and dumber than us. It's an insult to have to hide our existence from them when they should be kneeling to us."
Narcissa grabbed the hand of her beloved and calmed his anger.
"You speak the truth Lord Malfoy, and I'm sorry if I caused some unpleasant feelings by asking." Said Jakob taking a slight bow.
Lucius saw the look his wife gave him and sighed.
"I know there was no ill intention in your question Jakob so don't apologise. But be careful around them and don't use magic on them. We are one of few magical here, and they will know it was us if someone goes missing."
Jakob nodded and excused himself, returning to his room to shower and get dressed.
When he was done, he knocked on Panys door, and the girl walked out with her summer dress and a pair of sunglasses in her hand.
"You were gone when I woke up?" she whispered, annoyed.
"Yes, I needed to do my workout." whispered the boy back.
Pansy stared at him for a few seconds before she turned and walked down the stairs. Jakob sighed as he looked up at the ceiling.
"Are you coming?" he heard her voice, and he began his walk down the stairs.
When the four teenagers had eaten, they decided that they would go for a swim.
They all went outside to the warm weather of 28° Celsius. Jakob, Theo and Draco went straight for the water while Pansy unrolled her towel. Laying in the sun for a bit.
Narcissa, who had accompanied them out, waved her wand, creating waves that would hunt the boys. If one of them got hit, they lost, and the trick was to lead the small wave they were chased by to another because the small waves would not stop until they crashed on someone.
Jakob tried to lead one over to Draco, but he saw that the blonde smirked and when the bigger Slytherin frowned, a wave smashed into his back. The other two boys laughed as Jakob rose from the water.
"That's cheating! You can't form a team against me." Draco shrugged and began running after Theo with his wave close behind him.
Jakob got up and sat beside Pansy, who was trying to tan her pale body.
As he sat, he raised his hand to push back the wet hair dripping on his face and looked over to the girl wearing sunglasses.
His eyes darted down towards her bikini and stomach, seeing a small birthmark e few cm above her belly button.
"Why are you staring?" Pansy asked in a monotone voice as she basked in the sunlight, and Jakob looked out to the two boys who were still trying to catch one another.
"Nothing… I just did not know you had a birthmark there," answered Jakob quickly and stood up while pansy gave a slight smile.
He grabbed a towel, placed it beside her and lay down, feeling the sun's warm rays.
"Don't you want to go for a swim?" Asked Jakob, and Pansy nodded.
"Soon. I just… Draco barely notices me anymore." Jakob looked over to the boy in question, who was in full swing, trying to wrestle Theo into the water.
"Draco is being Draco, I guess answered Jakob and lay down his head again."
"I know, but I wished I had someone like you do." said the girl in a low voice.
Jakob turned his head towards her and frowned.
"Who do I have?"
Pansy turned her towards him and looked at him behind her shades.
"A certain queen? Have you already forgotten about her?"
Jakob chuckled, turning his head back to the sun.
"No, but we aren't like boyfriend and girlfriend. It's almost more complicated than what we have."
Pansy frowned.
"What do you mean what we have? What do we have?"
Jakob sighed, not really in the mood to talk about it and instead got up and dragged Pansy with him.
"Oi guys! Let's get over to that island over there!"
Theo and Draco, who had shifted towards Jakob, turned to see the small island further away.
"Are you mental? We can't swim that far!" yelled Draco, and Jakob rolled his eyes and walked back to the estate, where he took the two brooms and headed out again.
"We can fly, right?" he asked as the two boys walked over to him and Pansy.
Draco looked to Narcissa, who gave a nod of approval.
"Alright, so I take Theo and you-"
"Actually." interrupted Jakob and grabbed Theo's arm.
"Why don't I get some time with Theo now. You can take Pansy."
Draco shrugged and mounted his broom with Pansy behind him.
Theo sat behind Jakob, and they kicked off the ground.
"Be sure not to fly too high!" said Narcissa with a loud voice as the teenagers flew away towards the island.
"Theo, are you afraid of flying?" asked Jakob with a smirk.
The boy shook his head and smirked back.
Jakob lifted his broom and did a loop with Theo behind him, laughing and screaming.
They soon got company by the other two, and pansy punched Theo on the arm.
"you're it!" they then dropped, and Jakob followed suit.
"Aim for Draco! He yelled back to Theo, who nodded, grinning madly
as They flew over them.
"Hang on!" said Jakob and rolled. Theo slapped Draco on top of his head, and the boys laughed when they saw the annoyed look on the blonde's face.
"You're it!" they raced, and pansy got Jakob on the leg one more time before they landed on the island.
"We will continue this later," declared Jakob as they started to explore the small island.
It was covered with trees and plants but nothing out of the ordinary.
And after thirty minutes, Draco sighed.
"This is boring. Should we head back?"
Jakob shook his head.
There is something here. I can feel it."
Draco raised an eyebrow glancing two his other two friends.
"You can feel what?" asked Theo as they continued on.
"I don't know, but there is something here," answered Jakob.
They walked to the other side and saw that they had come to a stony hillside with the water smashing towards the stone wall beneath them. Jakob thought for a moment before grabbing his wand from the pocket in his bathing shorts and waving it around.
"Verdimillious"
A green light slowly hovered down in the water, and a cave entrance was unveiled.
"He looked with a victorious smile at his three friends, who seemed very uncomfortable.
"I'm not doing that jump," declared Draco, like he was surprised that he needed to tell Jake that.
"Count me out as well," said Theo glancing down towards the hole in the water.
Jakob frowned at the two boys. Before turning his head towards Pansy, who looked like she was torn about what to choose.
"Pansy come on, I will jump first to make sure everything Is alright." pleaded Jakob, and the girl walked over to the edge, peering down and taking a gulp.
"If I hurt myself doing this, Jakob you…."
"I do whatever you say, alright?"
Pansy nodded, and Jakob grinned.
"See you down there." he turned to face them and spread out his arms. He then tipped back, and the three Slytherins rushed to see as he dropped down into the ocean.
They waited a few seconds, feeling more nervous as Jakob did not seem to come back up.
"He's fine right?" Asked Pansy, the two boys who glanced at her but instead of answering, they looked back into the water.
He then burst from the water and laughed.
"Com on, Pansy, it was awesome!"
Pansy glanced at the two boys, who looked at her like she was crazy.
The girl pinched her nose and jumped into the water, and Jakob dove to see that she was okay.
They both came up, and Pansy took deep breaths and started laughing.
"Mental those two," said Draco as he and Theo watched their friends talk with each other.
"We will wait here! Don't take too long!" yelled Theo, and Jakob gave him a thumbs up.
"Alright, pansy, I will dive first, and you will follow. In the count of three."
Pansy nodded, taking in large breaths.
"One, two, three." Jakob dove, and Pansy were close behind him.
He entered the cave entrance and swam inside, looking back to see that Pansy was alright.
The swim was further than Jakob had thought, and after a few seconds, he saw that Pansy started to panic.
He swam to her, and she gestured that she needed air.
Jakob, who had more condition than her, nodded, and as her bubbles went out, he closed the distance between their lips and blew air into her mouth.
Pansy, who had been panicking moments before, closed her eyes and breathed in his air.
When he was done, they continued onwards, and suddenly he hit the surface.
The black-haired boy took a large breath and saw Pansy bursting through the surface, doing the same thing.
She turned, swam towards the cave floor and heaved herself up on it.
Jakob followed her and pushed himself up.
"Pansy, are you alright?" he asked the girl as she stood up, a little shaken.
Pansy hugged him, and Jakob hugged her back.
"Thank you. I was sure that I was going to drown."
Jakob Stroked her wet black hair for a few seconds before he gently pushed her away.
"You are fine, so let's have some fun now, okay?"
Jakob took out his wand.
"Lumos," he turned to walk deeper and felt Pansy take out hers to make the tip glow and grab his hand.
They walked through the narrow tunnel, and they could hear the dropping echoing. Jake looked back to see that Pansy was interested in what they would see next. He smiled at her and turned back, and soon they stopped.
"why are we stopping asked Pansy and looked beside Jakobs broad back.
A wall with a narrow hole in the middle stood Infront of them. He slowly walked forward and put his wand inside to see if there was a way out on the other side.
"I'll go first. I will call if it's safe to follow."
"and what if it's not safe?" Asked Pansy crossing her arms.
Jakob turned towards her and put a hand on her shoulder, wearing a grave expression.
"Then you will have to carry my corpse back to Draco and tell him that you killed me."
Pansy slapped his shoulder.
"Don't say stuff like that, you idiot." Jakob giggled and started crawling inside the narrow but wide tunnel.
He had to drag himself with his arms and felt that his nipples would be sore in the morning, but he pushed through, knowing that he was getting close.
When he saw the exit, he slowly crawled outside, falling down on the hard cave floor.
"Ouch!"
"What happened? Jakob, talk to me!"
The boy in question raised his arm, waved, and said in a loud, happy voice.
"I'm fine! Go ahead!" he could hear Pansy starting to crawl inside, and he turned to see that he was standing inside a cave room of sorts.
He held up his wand and saw that water was in the middle of the room, and further away stood a statue. Jakob frowned and was about to walk closer.
"Hey? Can you help me?" Jakob turned and helped Pansy out from the small exit, and she stood and looked around.
"Huh. Not much here. Merlin, what is that?!" the girl's startled voice made Jakob turn towards what she was pointing at with his wand raised a curse on his lips.
The light showed a wooden statue of what seemed to be a man with a wide smile, showing his teeth and two braids going from its head down to its legs.
Jakob turned to Pansy and smirked. It's just a statue. It's not going to bite you."
He chuckled as he turned to search if there were something better than an old statue around.
Pansy thought the statue looked creepy but walked around the water to stand Infront of it. She directed her wand over it and saw a carved text behind it.
"Kanaloa," she said in a low voice.
"What?" asked Jakob, standing on the other side and looking more closely at the water.
"It's a carving behind it. Kanaloa. Do you know anything?" asked Pansy as she glanced over at Jakob, who shrugged.
She turned back and slowly raised her hand, feeling something calling her.
"Pansy?" Jakob saw that Pansy looked like she was in some sort of trans, looking at the wooden man.
"Pansy, don't touch it." Jakob rushed over, but he was too late. When she touched the forehead of the wooden statue, a light burst out and blinded Jakob, who had to stop and shield his eyes. The light suddenly vanished, and the girl's eyes rolled back. She fell to the ground, and Jakob jumped over the water to her. He knelt before Pansy, who looked like she had an epileptic seizure. He tried to calm the shaking girl but had never seen anything like this before.
"Shit, what do I do?" said the boy in fear as she saw her twitching.
She suddenly stopped, and Jakob saw her lying there with her eyes open, mumbling something he could not understand.
"Fuck, what have I done. Pansy? Please wake up."
Authors note: The adventures in America have only started. I don't want to spoil anything but the next chapter and the chapter after it will have a lot of action, gore and a bit of horror. It is the thing I've been working on this week and might take a little extra time to adjust. If you don't get an update tomorrow, you will know why. Cheers!
