You felt it too?
. . .
It was very late at night when Shota Aizawa decided to retire from his paperwork. The UA incident had caused his regular load to almost double with new safety procedures and concerned parents. He leaned back into his chair, his long hair falling behind him as he sighed.
His headaches had turned into migraines, and with his students being as hyperactive as they are he might as well get carpool tunnel syndrome with the amount of paperwork they cause alone. Shota promised himself a nice long bath, but a small knock at the door interrupted that train of thought.
"Ever heard the saying I'm too overworked and not enough intoxicated?" Kagome teased, leaning against the doorframe to the teacher's office. He glanced at her, seeing her in leggings and a sweatshirt.
He was pretty sure it was her day off, not that he kept track of her schedule or anything… so if she was on campus that meant-
"Heard from Present Mic that you were staying back to work late." She smiled, but then frowned. "Aizawa it's 1:34 in the morning." She scolded, walking up to him. He continued leaning back on his chair, closing his eyes to let them rest.
"It's fine, I actually just finished my paperwork."
Aizawa pinched the bridge of nose and rubbed his eyes, they ached from the hours of sitting in front of is computer. Kagome was behind him, she placed her hand over his eyes. Her hand was warm, soft suddenly he felt it heat up more as a tingling sensation fluttered across his face. His eyes that once ached and his migraine was slowly dissipating.
"You shouldn't be using your quirk." Aizawa admonished, grabbing her hand and removing it from his eyes.
Their fingers intertwined, and he didn't move to let go of her hand; she didn't pull away either.
"Healing small things is fine, can't do much more than heal a headache or a paper cut for the next week though." Kagome promised.
Their conversation was light banter, clearly dancing in comfortable territory yet avoiding the topic of uncertainty of their relationship in each others presence.
"I think we should talk about what happened." Kagome admitted unlinking her hand from his, she settled into the office chair next to him. She hugged her knees to her chest, as a slight blush coated her cheeks.
How was she 26, yet not able to handle her feelings without acting like a high schooler.
"Which part?" Aizawa quipped. "The part where you kicked the Nomu's ass or when you stood over me like a lioness?" He smiled lightly, despite the horrific situation it was, he was quite fond of hearing of her heroic actions from others.
Particularly when she stood over him like a wolf baring her fangs towards anyone that came near him.
"I think we need to talk about us." She flushed, not meeting his gaze.
"I wondered when you would ask." Aizawa admitted, turning in his chair to her fully.
"So you felt it too?" Kagome queried. "That day in the hospital we…"
"I know." He reached for her hands, holding them in his own.
There was a silent acknowledgement that they saw each other differently. Before they were coworkers, even friends but now there were sly looks and cheeky smiles.
"But we don't have to act on it." Aizawa rubbed his thumbs over her hands, giving her some comfort. "Just because something has changed doesn't mean we have to do something about it."
"What if I want to?"
Aizawa could tell she was being sincere yet there was an unease about her. He heard that her last relationship had been rocky and he was determined to overindulge her.
"Then we take the next step, but only if you want to and are ready."
He could see the hesitation and unease in her. The rumours of her past relationships being… hostile must have been true.
But they were both adults, and communication was something they both were capable of and utilised. Besides it wouldn't be the first relationship for either one of them.
"You don't have to answer me at all you know. If you're feeling uncomfortable just don't act on the it, maybe let it sit for longer?" He advised, seeing her frown at him.
"It's not that I don't think I'm ready, it just that anxiety from my last one. I was just tormented so much that I kinda don't know how to have a normal romantic relationship." She admitted sadly.
Aizawa looked deep in thought, as he considered his next choice of words carefully.
"Well, most relationships are built on urges and feelings. So I will start by telling you exactly how I feel okay?" At her nod he continued. "I feel an attraction to you. I know this as I feel happier when you are here, and my heart skips a beat when you hold my hand. I am impressed by your heroics and compassion, and I can't explain it well but I just want to closer to you."
She blushed furiously at his compliments. Aizawa prepared himself for a rejection, fearing she wasn't ready and he unloaded his thoughts too soon.
"I love your long hair, it's the first thing i noticed about you when I started working here." Kagome admitted, looking away from his surprised gaze. "But then you were so rough around the edges and at times I couldn't predict or figure out what you were thinking! Yet I would see this compassion and care for your students that made me want to unravel the mystery of you"
She looked up at him, a fire ablaze in her eyes spoke clearly of her intention.
"I think that means, I'm attracted to you too. So Shota Aizawa, how would you like to consider a date with me?"
Aizawa grinned a small blush on his cheeks as his ears went red. He was totally going to spoil this woman.

A/N: whattt a healthy relationship? How many of you guys remember the last time you read a fic that had a relationship built on communication and honesty? CUS I CANT RECALL ONE HAH - also this chapter is short. suffer :)
tbh this fic is really a lot of Kagome/Aizawa being a comfort couple for me and they will have moments of tribulations but this will be cutesy series - I mean the fact that AIzawa recognises that she might not be ready due her past that he knows wasnt good but still decides to be transparent about her with his own feelings and thoughts while reminding that just because he feels somethings does not mean she needs to act on it. LIKE THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF INUYASHA AND HIS TWO SIDED IDK WHO I LOVE BS HAH
also this isnt a love confession just a we feel attracted so maybe we should try confession for the record.
