Chapter One Hundred-Eleven

JT

A/N – I am overwhelmed by the love and concern for our youngest Borden. I have been hinting about some issues he has been having lately and have had multiple reviews concerned for him. The last chapter was 95% about Wyatt's birthday and a pretty big change for the business. The much-appreciated reviews I received so far have been only focused on our little guy. Please don't hesitate to let me know how you feel and keep letting me know. You are writing this story with me and your ideas and input is essential. So back to the story. Obviously, I will address JTs health issues as this chapter develops. But there are other things going on although I expect the entire family will be focused on him. Wyatt has a milestone to achieve and the big purchase is on the forefront for him. School for the kids will be a focus as well as the business and of course I will sneak in some Amy/Ty stuff. But most importantly we will again see how amazing this family is, especially when one of its members needs them. As I said please let me know how I am doing. We will move through this challenge together. Enjoy!

As the pulled into the school parking lot they saw the ambulance parked near them. Amy went to clutch the door handle before they even stopped. Ty tightly grabbed her arm, "Babe, I know it is hard but you need to calm down. We don't want JT to be stressed." She smiled meekly understating him and as he turned the car off she hugged him tightly. Ty felt her shaking body and calmed her by rubbing her back and whispering in her ear, "JT is strong and we need to be strong for him." She gathered herself, checked her face in the visor mirror and they walked into school together, hand in hand. As they entered they went to the principal's office. They entered and the receptionist smiled, "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Borden, let me take you back. It seemed like a dream as they followed her to a conference room when the principal, his lead teacher and the nurse greeted them. The nurse spoke first, "Hi Amy and Ty, first I want to let you know the paramedics are finishing up with him so we wanted to talk to you first. When JT was brought to me, he seemed Ok just a little flustered and a little bewildered. He has such energy but it seemed to be drawn from him. I checked him over and although everything seemed fine he was still rather withdrawn, almost confused. I have to ask has he been sleeping Ok." Amy with regained conviction spoke up. "Well generally he sleeps well but over the last month or so he has had episodes where he has kind of phased out," looking for a way to describe it. "My oldest daughter and her boyfriend, along with one of my nieces had noticed it as well. It is so subtle that unless you are really paying attention, you don't see it. Am I making sense?" A tear came to her eye as she felt flustered. The nurse and lead teach both leaned over and clutched her arm. The teacher spoke, "Amy, it's alright, we have seen it too, in fact I planned to call you today about it until he had his episode." The principal continued, "I hope you understand but when it seemed that he had lost consciousness or actually more like his focus, the nurse had to call the EMTs. We made sure they came in quiet as to not cause a stir." Ty smiled, "We are happy you did. Amy actually set up an appointment with his pediatrician for the middle of the week as we were concerned and wanted to check him out." The nurse continued, "Well again our process is to contact the doctor on file so we have alerted him and he is actually talking with the EMTs as the work with JT." Amy sat and digested what she said and began to get up, "I need to see him, he must be so scared," The teacher and nurse chuckled as the nurse spoke up. "Sorry we don't think this is funny but I think he is enjoying the attention, he kind of loves it. But he does hide his feelings very well and I think he is a little nervous. When I was in there he asked some very good questions and told them how he was feeling. He is something else." She grabbed Amys hand, "Let's go see your little man."

As they walked into the room the first thing they saw was a relaxed and laughing JT talking to one of the EMTs. But when he saw his mom his eyes misted and he ran into her arms and jumped into her hug. They hugged like they would never let each other go. JT kept saying he was sorry and all Amy could do was hug him tighter. He didn't complain as he needed the warmth and love of his mom now. After a few moments things settled and Amy let the EMTs finish. When they were done they asked to speak to them privately. JT would not leave his mom's arms, and Amy and Ty didn't want to leave him. In an instant the door swung open and a distressed Maddie looked at the three of them, "Mom, Dad, what is going on. My teacher said my brother needed me to come to the nurse's office." Focusing on her little brother she ran to him and took him into her arms, looking him over from head to toe. "JT are you Ok, you look Ok, why are you here mom and dad, why is there an ambulance here? Ty calmed his daughter, "Mads, JT is not feeling well and we need to talk to the EMTs. Can you stay with your brother while we do?" "Of course but I need some answers." One of the EMT's laughed, "Seems dynamic personalities run in the family." Ty laughed, "You don't know the half of it." With JT settled with his sister, they headed back to the conference room they were in before. Several of his teachers stayed with the two youngest Bordens while their parents met with the medical folks. As they were seated, the same EMT who spoke before began the conversation. "Like I said he is a pretty special boy, you should be proud. He was engaged and so polite. So here is what we see and I am sure you know his doctor was on the phone with us. By the way he said to give him a call later. It seems that something is causing him to experience some issues with fatigue. The doctor confirmed that as young children grow, certain things may cause this but that will have to be determined through testing. Has he told you about how he has been feeling?" Amy looked at Ty a little bewildered, "Well we have noticed this over the last month or so. Over the weekend my husband and I were away and my sister called and told me he had another episode where he seemed to be, I don't' know how to describe it. He was just out of it and kind of distant. He recovered quickly but we decided to set up and appointment for him this week." The other EMT stepped in, Well like we said the doctor is in the loop and he has a better idea of what he needs to look for. We would recommend you let him stay home until he sees the doctor. We are not worried but just think he needs his family. He won't show it but he is a little scared. On one hand he loves the attention but I noticed several times he looked a little worried" Amy and Ty thanked them, as Amy even giving the EMTs a hug. They walked back with the nurse to see a smiling and laughing JT talking and laughing with his sister and his teachers. After quick thank yous to everyone they got the kids and headed home.

On the drive home Maddie and JT continued the active conversation. Amy called the doctor and the appointment was move to the following morning at his hospital office. Amy kept looking back at her son who was actively being engaged by his amazing sister. At times as their eyes met she saw worry but he was hiding it well. Amy and Ty held hands as he continued to check on her. He knew she was blaming herself, like she always did and was determined to make sure she was Ok. As they pulled up, as they expected Wyatt and Lyndy were on the porch waiting and right behind them Annie and Addie were getting off their bus unaware of the happenings of the day. As soon as JT got out Lyndy ran to him and picked him up her arms. Immediately Annie and Addie knew something was up as both JT and Maddie got out of their parents car. Wyatt took JT from Lyndy, holding him tightly. Katie, Clay and Georgie watched as the family gathered together to support JT. Ty spoke up, "Well guys let's all go inside and we will answer your questions together." Everyone including Katie, Clay, Georgie and Caleb came into the house. The girls got drinks for everyone as they all sat down in the living room. JT moved from Wyatt's arms to his moms lap and she bravely began talking. "Well today at school, JT wasn't feeling good and when he went to the nurses office, he kind of passed out. So the nurse had to call the EMT's to have him checked over. We got a call at the end of the Board meeting and headed right over." Lyndy interrupted, "JT did you feel like you did over the weekend when mom and dad were gone?" JT smiled timidly, "Yea kind of it was like everything got fuzzy and I kind of forgot where I was." She leaned into Wyatt, as her eyes teared up. When that happened the twins and Maddie began to get misty eyed to. JT got out of his moms lap and asked the girls to join him on the couch. He looked at them and spoke clearly, "Thanks for caring about me, but I don't like tears. I do need you, but I need you to help me find out what is happening." The others in the room fought to keep their emotions in check as they listened to him talk with his sisters. Amy and Ty couldn't be prouder of him and how he was actually soothing them. Wyatt and Clay sensed that the girls needed more information so Wyatt called to JT, "He buddy, how about me, you, Caleb and Clay go out and muck the stalls, give the horses some fresh water and their night feeds and hassle some of the ranch hands. Let's just let these women, and dad talk some more." His eyes lit up, "That sounds cool, "Just the guys, well less dad." Amy smiled at the three of them as they shuffled him out. She looked at her girls, Georgie and Katie, "Ok so here is the deal."

She started talking about what she, Ty, Katie and Lyndy had noticed over the last few weeks with JT. "Dad and I have seen a couple of times where JT seems to be a little confused or out if it. We kind of brushed it off just thinking maybe it was just JT being JT. But as it progresses, it seemed it became a little more than that. A week or so ago he had an episode that got me and dad talking about getting him to see a doctor. And then when we were away it happened again and Lou called. I made the appointment for a couple of days from now." Maddie had a look of concern on her face and put her head down, "Mommy, I am sorry, JT told me he wasn't feeling "right" for couple of weeks again but made me promise not to tell you." Lyndy smiled nervously, "Mom and Dad he told me too but I just put it off to him being a little silly. We should have told you sooner, this is all my fault." Maddie chimed in with tears coming to her eyes, "It is my fault too." Annie and Addie nodded their heads in agreement, "Us too." Ty and Amy pulled them in as Georgie and Katie looked on. Georgie spoke up, "We all knew he was not himself but you know he is so bubbly and happy all the time I think we just all thought maybe he was just a little tired or something." Amy and Ty sat them down facing all of them, "Listen all of you, we all missed this. When we talked to the EMTs and the Nurse, they said his vitals were good, although his blood pressure was a little low, which is not necessarily that bad. But what alarmed them a little was that sometimes he took a second or two to answer their questions, like he had to think a little first. You know he thinks through things, which is not a normal thing for kids his age. They normally just let it fly. His pediatrician was on the phone and this was a main topic of their conversation. We are going into the hospital tomorrow, so they can run more extensive test. The doctor has some ideas and he wants to check on them. All we can do is wait and see and be there for him." There was a little time before dinner, so Georgie headed home and the rest of the girls headed out to the barn. Ty and Amy sat by the fire and as expected she broke down in his arms. He knew it was coming so he held her tightly soothing her. She finally spoke up, "Ty I am trying to be strong but it is so hard, I am so worried and mad at myself. I am his mother and should have seen this sooner, what if.." He immediately kissed her to get her to stop talking. He looked at her deep blue eyes, "Amy, this is not your fault. We all missed it. He is always so upbeat and happy. Let's just see what is up and do whatever we need to be there for him." She smiled feeling better and loving her husband more than ever. They continued to hold each other when then others came back laughing and joking. Maddie proclaimed, "JT wants pizza for dinner!" It seems dinner plans were already taken care of.

The next morning everyone got up for breakfast. Although the girls wanted to go, Amy and Ty had insisted that they go to school. Lyndy noticed that both Wyatt and JT weren't down yet. She went to open JT's door and noticed his bed was still made and he was nowhere to be found. She realized where he was and went to Wyatt's room and slightly opened the door. As she looked in her heart melted as Wyatt laid with JT in his arms. He looked up and smiled putting his fingers to his lips for her to be quiet. Lyndy got her mom, dad and the girls. They all took a peak as their eyes misted up watching JT sleep so peacefully. He rustled a bit and opened his eyes. Realizing what was going on her stretched and looked at the group of them staring in the doorway. "Can't a guy sleep in peace?" The all chuckled and the girls jumped in bed with him as Wyatt fled to TY and Amy's side, He whispered to them, "Sorry he kind of came to talk to me and fell asleep." Amy put her arm around him barely able to speak, "Thank you." The girls and Wyatt headed off to school and Ty called the school and let them know that JT would not be in today. Amy and Ty headed over to the office with JT in tow. He went to spend some time with Rusty and the ranch hands as Ty and Amy caught up on some work. When they were ready to go they snatched up JT in the middle of mucking out a stall and headed to the hospital. JT was quiet as they pulled into a parking place and headed in. After some paperwork they were taken to an exam room and joined by Dr. Flanders, his pediatrician. A nurse and a tech, who would be doing some test were there. JT really liked his doctor as they talked about the farm and horses. After the nurse took some vitals and drew blood, which JT handled well, they left them alone for a bit. Amy had him in her lap as Ty asked, "How are you doing buddy, you know we are very proud of you and love you a lot." He smiled and held his mom tightly. He was a little scared but was Ok. The tech came in telling it was time for him to come with him for a couple of test. JT looked at his mom and dad and kissed each of them. "See you in a little bit mom and dad." He hopped in the hospital bed and felt pretty special riding to the testing lab and getting so much attention. Although nervous the extra attention made him feel special. The tech spoke up, "Come on little man let's get going. Mom and Dad, we will be about an hour and a half." The smiled and Amy gave him one last hug as JT mumbled, "Geez mom it's only an hour and a half."

The plan was to meet back in his room with the doctor and another specialist to talk through the test and timelines. Amy and Ty headed to the cafeteria to get some coffee as neither of them had slept well. As they sat they each checked on things back at the ranch, keeping them focused on that rather than their son. They both got off the phone and sat quietly pondering about what was wrong and what they missed. Finally Ty spoke up, "Honey we are both killing ourselves here, let's just see what the test show and what the doctors think. He is such an energetic and amazing kid so it was easy to miss this. We just need to move forward and make sure we are there to help him get better." She smiled and leaned into his shoulder when the nurse approached him, "Mr. and Mrs. Borden JT is on his way back." They came back to the room to see a smiling JT being attended to by not one but two nurses and the tech. They laughed as he was telling them a story about Wyatt and his party, proudly telling him about his gift to him. The three were mesmerized by his excitement and love for this Wyatt. One asked, "How old is your brother?" Without hesitation he answered, "Well he just turned 16 and is going to let me help him find a truck to buy. He is my best friend and I love him a whole lot." He hesitated, "He is not my real brother though. He lives with us and is my sister's boyfriend. It's kind of gross but they really love each other and kiss a lot." One of th nurses looked puzzled, "Wait so he is not your brother but lives with you and is your sister's boyfriend?" Amy saw the dilemma and spoke up, "Well there is more to the story." She took a few moments to talk about how Wyatt became a part of their family and the relationship he had with their oldest daughter Lyndy. Shaking their heads in understanding the tech spoke to him, "Well he sure feels like an older brother to me, you are very lucky." JT laughed, "Yep and with all of the women around me I need a brother, my sisters are a little crazy." They all broke out into laughter as the doctor and two others staff doctors came into the room. Dr. Flanders spoke up smiling, "Are we missing the party?" The tech smiled, "I will let them tell you the story, JT you are a gem and it was a pleasure spending time with you this morning. Oh and tell this Wyatt guy we said hi." The three doctors stood together as Dr. Flanders spoke up, "Well guys we have finished the test we needed to do. Let's chat." Looking at Amy he asked without words if JT should be there. She smiled, "JT, can you go with the nurse, I think you deserve some ice cream." JT's eyes opened wide, "Ice cream before lunch, that rocks!" The nurse giggled and grabbed his hand leaving the room.

"Well let's take this in steps. After talking to you and JT is seems there are several symptoms, along with the test we did that have helped us determine what is going on. We won't know 100% for a couple of days but we have a good idea." Amy clutched Ty's hand for support as her eyes glistened. "It seems he has had a little trouble sleeping lately and at times has seemed a little more tired than usual Also he has had some what we will call spells or incidents where he has seemed out of it, even a little dizzy. He told me that when he feels that way it is like he can't focus and feels a little sick to his stomach." He hesitated as another doctor spoke. "Mr. and Mrs. Borden, I am a child psychologist and first off your son is the most adjusted and mature almost 4-year-old I have ever met. But he told me that after these episode he sometimes has a headache, losing concentration or remembering things. He said they eventually come back to him rather quickly but it still worries him. I have to say, his ability to communicate and understand how he feels is truly amazing." Dr. Flanders spoke, "Do you guys have any questions?" Amy couldn't speak as her mind was racing trying to comprehend what was being said. Ty composed himself and asked, "So, you have an idea of what this might be?" The doctor smiled, "First off let me say that the condition that we believe he has is treatable and most of the time will disappear with age. We will say though that he is a bit younger than most kids who have this diagnosis, but we have theorized that since he is so advanced for an almost 4-year-old, it definitely fits. Sorry about the almost four-year-old comments but he was adamant to tell us about his upcoming birthday." They laughed as the third doctor spoke up, "Is it true he is going to go into kindergarten next school year?" Amy smiled finally able to speak, "Yes we have met with his teaching team and school officials and we started him in PreK early since he knew several boys who were a little older than him. I think having four older sisters and Wyatt have helped him mature a lot quicker than other kids his age. The team at his school recommended it to us since he would continue with the same group of kids. And his older sister also was moved ahead a bit and has fit in well." He smiled, "Well that makes perfect sense, he is a pretty special kid. He has a lot of the young female nurses hovering over him, it seems he is a ladies man for sure." Ty spoke up, "Well like father like son." Amy smiled and poked at him "Yea whatever,"

They settled down from laughing, as the three doctors observed the closeness of the couple better understanding the positive attitude of their young patient. Dr. Flanders focused back and continued, "Although not officially confirmed, we believe that JT is suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. CFS is a complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue that lasts for at least six months and that can't be fully explained by an underlying medical condition. There's currently no specific cure or treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome. But if your child is diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, there are things your child can do to manage their condition. And let me stress that it will eventually take its course and go away. Generally there are no long-term effects and the child continues on to enjoy a great life. He is early on and bringing him here so soon was a great thing to do." He took a moment as Amy took a breath and spoke. "Is he in pain?" He smiled, "Typically this early there is minimal discomfort but with his advanced awareness the biggest issue will be for him to stay positive. He is not out of the woods but we can move forward and he can continue with school and his other activities. The only difference will be that you will need to watch him a little closer. We will talk to the staff at his school as well and give them some guidelines." Ty and Amy held each other a little tighter but with a little relief in their eyes. The second doctor spoke again, "We will work with you and your child to develop an individual management plan. JT's plan will focus on helping him manage his individual symptoms and his physical, mental and emotional health. This will help your child get on with daily life as much as possible." He hesitated and Dr. Flanders continued, "You guys and JT will have plenty of input into his management plan. We also want to bring in Wyatt and your daughters into the loop as well and anyone else you feel would be influential to him. He seems to be very close to Lyndy and Maddie as well as Wyatt." Amy smiled, "Yes all the kids are very supportive of each other and have already been involved. But we need your thoughts on this. JT is extremely close to my grandfather. His GG had some health issues and he made it his mission to be there for him. They have a unique bond and are inseparable." The three of them laughed as he continued, "Well we heard all about GG Jack and their fishing prowess. We believe he will be a key player on this team. But we have a question. Can you tell us about his relationship with his grandma Marion and great grandma Lyndy, he spoke of them several times." They sat back preparing for to tell them.

Before she spoke Amy leaned closer to Ty, "First both my mother and grandmother have passed away, my mom when I was 15 and my grandma when I was little. In the past there have been several times when JT has channeled my mom and grandmas comments to members of th family. The words were always supportive and soothing for the person. I had a health scare and he told me that my mom told him I would be Ok. Ty's mom was just diagnosed with liver cancer and he whispered something to her that she had to keep in secrecy but she finally told us that his grandma and great grandma told him that it would be hard but she would get better." She took an emotional breath as Ty continued, "The teaching team at school have seen it as well and the counselor has said that she did some research on it. If he is actually talking to them or not, what he is experiencing is very real to him. The amazing thing is how calm he is when he talks for them. It's like something comes over him as he becomes the conduit for their thoughts." The psychologist perked up, "Yes I saw that when we talked. What you are saying makes perfect sense and really clarifies what we thought. I have read research on this phenomenon and the impact it has on the messenger and those that receive the messages. This just supports what type of young person he is. This gift, although wonderful also is something that could be interrupting his sleep and may be a contributing factor to the CFS. We are not saying it is a bad thing but this helps us in developing a plan to help him get better." They all took a moment to digest everything that had been said. Ty raised his head and spoke, "So is it time to tell him?" Dr. Flanders smiled, "Well there is no better time than right now. We all agree that he is more than capable of handling it, in fact we expect he will be heavily engaged." As he ended his comment there was a light knock on the door and a laughing nurse and JT came in. He looked at the group and spoke looking at the nurse, "Wow kind of serious in here, maybe we should go get some more ice cream!" Amy and Ty laughed as they opened their arms to him and he jumped on his mom's lap. "Well little man let's talk then."

The doctors they went through everything they had discussed trying to keep it at a level he could understand. He listened intently and focused on each person as they talked. He was amazingly quiet, at least for him, but it looked as though he was just trying to take it all in. When they talked about him talking with his grandma and great grandma he spoke up, "I don't want to lose them, I love them and they count on me to speak for them." The three doctors sat in awe as he was very confident in his request. The psychologist answered him, "JT we would never take that away from you, in fact I would like to talk to you about that more later. We are confident we can work through it, you will not lose them." Amy teared up as she saw relief on his face. They went through some new rules that he had to agree to. He would need to get back to school, socialize and do physical activity. They would review his school schedule with the teaching team and if needed develop ad reduced timetable at school. He would need to have a set bedtime each night with no screen time for 1-2 hours before bed. JT laughed hugging his mom, "My mom and dad don't allow us to have a lot of that already." He would need to limit his stress and ensure he relaxes more. The psychologist spoke up, "I would like to meet with you if its ok with you. I will work with the school counselor and set up a schedule and come to you." JT smiled, "That would be cool." Dr Flanders took over, "Right now we don't see a need to prescribe medication for sleep but we will reassess later. And we will need to review your management plan regularly so you will have to come in and see us." JT seemed a little overwhelmed and looked at his dad, "JT what they mean is that you have to abide by the rules and we will come back and talk about it from time to time. I expect your sisters will keep you in line." He rolled his eyes understanding, "Just tell them not to go all Maddie on me." The three doctors laughed with questioning looks. Amy smiled, "Our 10-year-old daughter is a bit overwhelming, but in a good way. She will without a doubt have schedules and check list set up." They finished the meeting and JT shook each of the doctors hands and hugged the nurse. As they headed out he looked back smiling and Amy spoke, "Lunch and Maggie's?" He smiled and gave a thumbs up.

Lunch was fun as JT seemed a little relieved that the morning was over. He was quiet but did ask some questions. Amy and Ty answered them and made sure he understood. But one question he asked rocked them a bit. He looked at them with concern, "Mommy, why did this happen to me." Amy and Ty did everything they could to control their emotions. Ty finally spoke, "Buddy, I don't know why but I do know this. Over time you will feel better but you have to promise us both something. You need to let us know when you are feeling off, don't keep it from us. We love you and will always be there for you." He smiled and answered by hugging them both and went back to eating his fries. Ty joked, "Just like your mom, you love fries." They laughed as Lou, who had been letting them alone, came over and hugged him, "He little man playing hooky from school?" He laughed holding her tight, "Aunt Lou you know where I was, you know I am not a little kid." She laughed and looked into his eyes, "No you are not, in fact you are pretty cool." She joined them as they joked and finished their lunch. As they left he hugged Lou again and headed home. When they got back JT was going to spend more time with the ranch hands as Amy and Ty checked in on how things were going. They told JT to take it easy and said they would come get him and wait for the rest of kids to get home. He smiled and laughed, "Isn't mom the one who always said not to bubble wrap her." The laughed and set him on his way. Although they were relieved Amy and Ty were still thinking about the diagnosis and what needed to be done. They ran into each other and stepped into a stall to hold each other. He whispered in her ear, "Ames he is going to be fine. He has all of us to love him. Let's have Jack and Lisa over for dinner so they can hear the results and plans. Especially since JT wanted Jack to be a part of it." Amy called her grandpa for fill him in and he said he would be there but Lisa was at a meeting. He suggested that maybe after dinner JT and him could give a call to Max. Amy thought that was a great idea. As the time to meet the kids came close, Ty went to get JT who was in a deep conversation with Rusty about a horse he was working with. He listened and smiled as JT spoke to the young ranch hand, "Now Rusty remember you need to get his trust. It seems he is kind of nervous so make sure you do some T-Touch with him. It will help him calm down." Rusty high fived him and Ty gleamed with pride watching him interact with him. He came over and said, "Good work you guys, JT we need to go home to meet your sisters, are you ready?" He hopped into his arms as they got his mom and headed home.

As the girls and Wyatt came home they each went to their little brother and hugged him. They all were nervous and didn't really ask about the day. While Amy and Ty got dinner ready they all sat at the table studying together. The conversation was lighthearted but still no questions or inquiries. Amy and Ty noticed their apprehension and decided that after dinner they would sit everyone down. The door opened and Jack sauntered into the scene. JT immediately ran to him screaming his name and hugging him tightly, "GG are you having dinner with us tonight." Jack smiled, "Yes I am, your GG Lisa has a meeting and everyone else was out, so I came to eat with you guys." JT spoke with excitement in his voice, "That is awesome, will you sit next to me?" He smiled as Wyatt scoffed, "Hey little buddy what am I chopped liver?" JT laughed, "No but GG pulls rank on you." Everyone laughed as the gathered around the table. Dinner smelled great as they made all of JT's favorites. The conversation continued to be subdued and Amy noticed a look of concern coming over JT. He finally stood up and spoke confidently, "Ok enough of this. I have Chronic Fatigue something and we have a plan to help me get over it. You all need to stop being so weird." Ty and Amy smiled as the girls all listened in shock as he continued. "Mom and dad don't think I know but I do. I have been getting tired more lately and have kind of had a few episodes." He looked at his mom to make sure he was saying it right. "Anyway like I said we have a plan that the doctors have put together and I will need you all to help me, not pity me. I am not broken, just bruised a bit." He laughed at himself for coming up with that description. "So that's it. If you want details mom and dad can tell you. So are we good?" They all smiled timidly and shook their heads in understanding. Lyndy was th first to speak and stood up to hug him, "Little brother we are all here for you, whatever you need. But we will follow your rules, even Maddie." The all chuckled as they already noticed Maddie in planning mode. Discussion livened up a bit when Jack spoke up, "Well I have to say your dinners are pretty exciting. And JT after dinner you and me have a call to make." As they finished, Jack and JT went into the study to call Max, the kids went to take care of the horses and Ty and Amy cleaned up. It had been an exhausting day as they worked silently, glancing at each other a lot. When the finished they went to the living room. They heard the muffled conversation with Jack, Max and JT, mostly JT talking and laughing. Amy cuddled into her husband hold and sighed. She looked into his green eyes and said, "You were right Ty, everything is going to be Ok." They went to kiss and after a few minutes the rest of the kids burst into the house interrupting their moment. Addie laughed, "See I told you guys, they would be making out on the couch, so predictable." Everyone laughed as they all headed into the study to find their little brother.
