Chapter 6: The Queen of the Fairies and The Deadly Lullaby

(Last chapter Jay went on his first job as a member of Fairy Tail with Natsu, Lucy and Happy. Their task was to destroy a specific book that was owned by an egotistical Duke named Everlue. After defeating him and his group of ugly maids, one who happens to be the Celestial Spirit Virgo, they retrieved the book. It was then discovered to have a spell on it that hid its true story, a message meant for the authors son, who was the client. On the way back the group ran into Gray, who finished his own job but was hurrying back because…) "Erza'll be back shortly." (The strongest female Fairy Tail wizard was returning home soon. Before they could leave, the five were attacked by unknown wizards. The Fairies easily defeated them, then one began to speak.) "Lulla…by…" (Before more was said, a giant shadowy hand 'silenced' them.) "They didn't want anything to be leaked." Jay said, "And something tells me it has to do with this 'lullaby'." (But what could it mean for our hero?)

(Jay's Pov)
After what happened, we made the rest of the way back to Magnolia Town and reported to Master Makarov. When we told him the conclusion of our job, he praised us for our decision, saying it was the right choice. He also congratulated me on finding my first Plate and unlocking new magic, he would also be sure to tell the Council what we discovered about Everlue and that all damages were done by his hands. I decided to just relax and wander around the town for the rest of the day and spend tomorrow training to get use to the Fighting Type Energy in my body. Which is what I did and now was heading back to the Guild to pick out my next job.
"As much as I'm glad we made the right decision, it's not easy to turn down 2 million, even if I would've only gotten 500,000." I spoke to myself while stretching. As I was walking, two people passed by but I didn't pay much attention to them and one of them stopped before looking back at me.
"You there, the one in the fashionable white and gold jacket, stop." ? ordered.
I stopped and looked back, since I'm the one getting called out to judging by no one else is wearing white and gold that are around me.
"Can I help you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, getting a good look at the two.
One is a blond middle age, wearing fashionable clothing. (I will admit without hesitation I know nothing about fashion. Whoever is reading this, feel free to imagine whatever is fashion in your eye that she is wearing.) The second women is a black haired, tan young adult in a maid outfit.
'Thank Arceus, a normal looking maid.' I thought 'I'm not sure if I can handle another ugly one.'
The blond women walked up and starts eyeing me up and down, then begins to circle to get a better look. I stand still and wait for her to finish…whatever she was doing. Afterwards she stands in front of me and begins to speak.
"Come with me." she said and begins to walk away.
I wasn't sure what to do exactly but shrugged my shoulders and followed. With my Pokémon and powers, I'd be fine. We walked until reaching a bigger mansion then Everlue's. I was led into the living room where I was asked to sit.
"My name is Sapphire, and this is my maid, Hope. *Motioning to the maid who bows* I thank you for agreeing to follow, as I must ask you a question young man." Sapphire said then pointing to my Key Stone "Where did you a get that gorgeous stone from and if you're willingly able to part with it?"
I blink, is this woman is asking me to sell my Key Stone? Oh, hell no!
"It was given to me as a gift. Sorry, but it's not for sell." I said firmly.
"Come now, I haven't seen such a gem quite like this before anywhere in my life. Simply name your price."
"It's more then just jewelry." I said, "It's a symbol of bonds where I come from and are very rare." But she wouldn't stop trying to persuade me to give it up. I then had an idea.
"What if I gave you something else and more?" I asked her, getting her attention.
"Oh?" she began to think. "If these items are fetching enough, I'll be willing to take them instead." Sapphire agreed.
I reached into my bag and began to take out one of each evolutionary stone, setting all ten of them on the table. I've collected a few dozen copies over the years, just encase I or someone else needed them. The eyes of both ladies widened.
"My word, look at them." Sapphire whispered.
"My lady," Hope spoke for the first time, "I have never seen these stones before or anywhere else."
Sapphire nodded in agreement before looking at me "How much." she stated.
I then began to think. It's obvious this lady has money to spend if she was asking for ME for the price. This is chance I wasn't going to pass up. Hey, with all the good deeds I've done, I deserve to be a little selfish once or twice.
"Ten million each." I said.
She turned to the maid and ordered "Have someone gather 100 million and return here." Hope bowed and hurried out. Sapphire looked back at me.
"I honestly thought you would have asked for more." she said.
"I think 100 mil is more than enough for me." I responded.
"Yes, I suppose if you need more you can simple take on a job due to being a member of Fairy Tail." Sapphire said.
"That's right." I agreed.
Hope returned shortly after with two cases. Man, she was quick.
"Each case holds 50 million my lady." Hope informed.
"Excellent, please give them to our wizard friend here." Sapphire ordered and Hope did as requested.
I took the cases and put them in my bag, storing them away for safe keeping. "A pleasure doing business, Madame." I spoke.
"And to you as well." she said. "Hope, please show him the way out."
"Yes, my lady." Hope bowed, led me to the front door and sent me on my way as a millionaire.
"That was a weird, but nice little side quest." I said, "normally rich folk can be such hard asses." I should know, I've dealt with plenty.
As I about to continue my way to the Guild again, I began to hear people whispering. I look in the direction where it's coming from, and my eyes widen. Walking down the road is a female knight in a blue skirt with scarlet hair carrying a huge gem decorated horn.
"It's Erza Scarlet."
"She back."
"Titania."
"The Queen of the Fairies."
These were the things I heard everyone whispering to each other. I also took notice of her name.
"So she's Erza, the strongest female of Fairy Tail, huh?" I spoke to myself, "Welp, might as well introduce myself." No time like the present and all that, right? With that being said, I stepped out in the road and in front of her. Erza stopped in her tracks and looked at me with a crucial eye. Everyone else looked at me with shock.
"…Can I help you?" she asked.
"Hi." I waved with me right arm, being sure to keep my emblem hidden at the time. "You're Erza Scarlet, right? A member of Fairy Tail?" I could see the symbol on her armor, over where her heart is. I could also see her tense up slightly, like she was getting ready for a fight.
"I am, and what is it to you?" Erza narrowed her eyes. Geez, she is way too up tight. Though if some random person showed themselves in front of me, I'd be on guard too.
"My name's Jason Nox, or Jay to my family and friends." I introduced "And I just thought *Turn my arm over to show my tattoo* I'd say hello to a senior member is all."
Erza was slightly taken aback as her eyes widen a bit before she asked me "You're a member of Fairy Tail?"
"Yup *Pops the p*, been a member close to a week." I said. She looks in my eyes, as if looking for any lies. Then her stance relaxes as she gives me a small smile.
"I see, a new member then. I'm glad to meet you, Jason." Erza said kindly.
"I was heading to the Guild. Mind some company?" I asked her.
"Not at all." Erza said as she resumed walking. "We can take the time for you to tell me about yourself."
"Well, that is a very long story." I said to her, "If you want to hear it sometime and I'm busy, then feel free to ask either Master or Mirajane the story. It's thanks to Mira that I'm a member."
"I see. There is something important I need to do, so I'll have to ask at a later date." Erza said.
"No problem." I said before looking at the horn and asking, "Souvenir from your job?"
"Yes, the villagers decorated it and gave it to me as thanks."
I whistled then said "Nice."
I then tell her what my first day was like. Saving Macao after getting possessed by an ugly monkey (she snorted at the nickname I give the Vulcans) then thanked me for saving him…as she slammed my head into her chest plate. Ow. I see the Guild with Loke running out of the it, wait is he…crying?
"Hey Loke!" I called out to him, getting his attention.
"Oh, hey Jay." he switches gears from sad to casual. "Whaaahhhh." Loke was asking me before noticing Erza. He turns tail and runs back inside the Guild.
(Put *WOW* sound here) "Nani?" I asked (The Trainer is confused)
That didn't seem to bother Erza as she kept walking, so I followed her. After we got inside, I notice everyone is scared stiff.
'What is with everyone? It can't be due to Erza, can it?' I thought. I turn my attention back in front of me as Erza set the horn down.
"I have returned." she proclaimed, "Is Master here?"
"S-She's pretty!" Lucy said.
"Welcome back. Master is at the regular meting." Mira informed Erza.
"I see." Erza said.
A member asked Erza about the horn, while she explained I walked up to Mira.
"What meeting is he at?" I asked her.
"A meeting between other guild masters to give regular reports."
"Oh, I see." I said. It makes sense, as the guilds need to keep in touch with one another so nothing bad happens. "Where is it taking place?" I then asked.
"Clover Town." Mirajane answered.
I then turn my attention to a floating diagram. Seems this worlds Government stands above the Magic Council, that's good information to know about.
"All of you!" Erza called out, getting my attention again. "I heard a bunch of rumors while I was gone. About how Fairy Tail causing problems. Master might forgive you, but I will not!" she then began addressing different members.
"Cana! How dare you drink in such an undignified manner!"
"Visitar. Take your dancing outside."
"Wakaba. You're dropping ash on the table."
"Nab! Just hesitating in front of the Request Board as usual? Take a job!"
"Macao! Jay told me about what happened on your last job. *said man flinches* Therefore, all I ask is for you to take a partner with you next time you take a job like that again. Understood." Macao nods his head quickly. He then looks at me with a face that said 'Thank you!'. I gave him a thumbs up.
"That being said, you all give me such trouble." Erza said "I'll let it slide today without saying anything."
"It seemed like she said plenty already…" Lucy commented with a whisper. "Is she like a disciplinary committee or something?"
"That'd be Erza." Happy said.
"Well, she has a sharp tongue, but she looks human enough." Lucy said, "Is she really all that scary?"
"Don't tell me you actually believed those two idiots on how they described her?" I questioned Lucy.
"Are Natsu and Gray here?" Erza asked.
"Aye!" Happy acknowledged while pointing to the right. I turn and see them being…friendly with each other? Nani da fuck? (The Trainer is confused again)
"Hey Erza. The both of us are getting along great today, as always!" Gray said while sweating.
"Aye!" Natsu said also sweating, AS HE SOUNDED LIKE HAPPY?!
"Natsu's acting like Happy!" Lucy exclaimed.
"I see. Well, even the best of friends fight at times." Erza said, apparently buying the act. "But I like it most seeing the two of you get along."
"Um, best friends is a little…" Gray tried to say.
"Aye…" Hap- I mean Natsu said.
"I've never seen Natsu like this!" Lucy said shocked.
"What the hell happened to them to act like this?" I asked.
"Natsu challenged Erza to a fight before and was beat to a pulp." Mira explained Natsu's reason.
"And Gray got beat to a pulp when she saw him walking about naked." Macao explained for Gray.
"When Loke courted Erza, she beat him to a pulp. He reaped what he sowed, though." Cana said for some reason.
"Oh, so she's like that?" Lucy said.
"Natsu, Gray, I have a favor to ask." Erza said getting their attention. "I heard a troubling story after I finished this job. Honestly speaking, this is something for Master to decide, but I want to settle it quickly, so I decided myself. I want you two to lend me your power. Will you come with me?"
Everyone was shocked. Erza Scarlet was asking for help?!
'I might not know her strength like everyone else but judging by their reactions this must be serious.' I thought.
"We're leaving tomorrow morning. Make preparations." Erza informed.
'Make a team with him?' both boys thought.
"Hold it, I'm joining too." I said stepping forward, getting everyone's attention.
"Jay." Mira said.
"I thank you for volunteering, but that is not necessary." Erza said.
"I'm not asking." I said firmly. "Don't think just because I'm new, that I'm weak. Especially when you've yet to know anything about me."
"And I will hear your story when we get back." Erza said as she began to turn until she stopped dead in her tracks at what I asked next.
"That's IF you come back, right?" I asked. "I may not know you either Erza but judging by the looks on the faces of the people who do, you never ask for help. You wanna know what I think?" She turns back to me "You aren't asking for help because you need help, it's because if you can't afford to fail or else thousands of innocent people might die." her eyes widen slightly. "Your response proves I'm right. Whatever it is that you heard, proves how bad things are and you'll need all the help you can get." I said walking past her while giving her a hard look. "Like it or not, I'm coming too. I refuse to look the other way when people are in danger."
After I finished, I walked out the Guild to get ready and tell my Pokémon.
(3rd PoV)
Everyone was silent after Jay talked to Erza and left. They looked at her and could see the shocked look on her face. Erza quickly changed it to a neutral expression before addressing the members.
"What are you all looking at?" she asked.
Everyone flinched and went back to what it was they were doing before Erza showed up, apart from some talks about Jay. Erza then turned to Natsu and Gray.
"You two, *they snap to attention* go get ready like I said." Erza ordered.
"Yes ma'am!" they said, bolting out of the Guild Hall.
After they left Erza couldn't help but sigh about what just happened with Jason.
"He's not wrong, you know." Mirajane said walking up to her best friend.
"Except this isn't a game." Erza said firmly.
"Jay knows that which is why he wants to help you." Mira reasoned, putting a hand on her shoulder and leading her to the bar. "Tell me, do you have anything else to do today?"
"Besides packing for tomorrow, no I don't." Erza answered.
"Great, then that means I can tell you about our newest male member." Mira said happily.
'Newest male member? Does that mean we have another new member but female?' the knight thought before saying "As much as would like to know more about him, I must begin preparing."
"Oh please, you're just going to pack everything but the kitchen sink." Mira said knowingly, causing Erza to freeze in place.
Before Erza could retort, Mira places down a plate with a slice of strawberry cake in front of the scarlet-haired women. While it was her favorite flavor, she was still hesitant as she wanted to be ready ahead of time.
"Erza, you need to hear his story." Mira said.
Seeing the serious look in her friends eyes, she simply sat on the stool.
"Very well then. Tell me everything you know of him." Erza said as she picked up a fork to eat her cake with. "Let's start with how you two met, since Jason said that's how he got here in the first place." and put a piece in her mouth.
With a smile Mirajane said "He saved me from almost being molested by a forest Vulcan." Erza almost died chocking right then and there.
While Erza was saving her life Mira began to think 'Erza, Natsu, Gray and Jason all on the same team. This might be Fairy Tail's ultimate team!'
(The next day)
(Jay's PoV)
After I headed back to the Strauss household, I informed my team what was up and to be ready for anything for tomorrow. After double checking what items to bring I decided to rest for the day to be ready for our job. If Erza has a problem with me coming along, then too damn bad, people's feelings hasn't stop me before from doing what's right and it's not going to stop me now. I was now at the Magnolia train station waiting for Erza to show up with Natsu, Gray, Happy and surprisingly Lucy. While waiting Natsu and Gray of course stared arguing.
"Why'd I have to be stuck with you?" Natsu demanded.
"That's my line!" Gray snapped back. "If Erza wants help, I can handle that by myself!"
"Then go by yourself! I don't even want to go!" Natsu shouted.
"Then stay home, and get beaten up by Erza afterwards!" Gray mocked.
I turn to the locals watching them and bow to them, "Please ignore them, they just don't along is all." I spoke then made my way to Lucy and happy
Said two, with Plue (a dog type Celestial Spirit) in Lucy's lap, were sitting on a bench near them and watching them argue.
"Pretend we don't know them." the girl muttered to herself.
"Why are you here, Lucy?" Happy asked, munching on a fish.
"I would like to know as well." I admitted.
"Because Mira-san asked me to keep them from fighting when Erza isn't around." Lucy said.
"You're not stopping them." Happy pointed out.
"To be fair Happy, with them how is she supposed to?" I asked him.
"touché." the blue cat admitted.
"I apologize. Were you waiting?" we all heard Erza's voice.
"Erza-san!" Lucy said before she comedically blanched.
Standing there was Erza…as well as a huge wagon load of bags behind her!
'Mew sakes! Did she bring everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink?!' I cried out in my head.
"Nice packing." Happy complimented.
"That's a lot of luggage!" Lucy said, eyes bulging.
"Let's get along together today!" Gray said as he and Natsu got into their 'buddy, buddy' routine.
"Aye, sir!" Natsu said.
"And cue Happy #2." I deadpanned at them.
"Yes. Getting along is the best." Erza said kindly, still believing the act, and looked at Lucy. "And you are? I believe you were at Fairy Tail yesterday."
"I'm the new recruit, Lucy." she introduced herself, "Mira-san asked that I come along with you. Thanks for having me!" while Natsu and Gray were glaring at each other behind Erza's back.
"I am Erza. Glad to have you on board." Erza greeted before realizing something. "Oh, so you're Lucy?" she asked while looking behind her to see the boys acting. She turned back and they began glaring again. "You're the one who beat the guerrilla mercenaries with a single finger, yes? You have my thanks for offering to help. I'll be counting on you."
'Oh sure, you take her along overhearing something that happened WAY differently then what actually happened!' I thought as she looked back at them seeing their act again.
"G-Glad to be of service…" Lucy said, a little scared.
Erza then looked at me with a neutral expression.
"Jason…" Erza said.
"I told you I was coming." I responded.
Nothing else was said between us as we started. Even the two idiots stopped to watch, waiting to see what happens. Then surprisingly, Erza bowed to me.
"I'm sorry." she said.
Natsu, Gray and Happy were shocked.
"Erza is bowing?!" the three shouted as Erza stood up.
"After you left, Mira told me your story. About everything you went through and…lost." Erza said that last part while looking away. A feeling of familiarity going through her, still fresh when told to her yesterday. "You went and took on many challenges when you didn't have too, putting your life on the line all for the sake of others and didn't ask for any thanks nor rewards in return. You have a heart full of justice. I would be honored if you helped me on this task." Erza held out her hand to me.
I looked at her, smiled and shook her hand. "Thanks for having me aboard Erza." I said.
"I would also like to thank you for saving Mira from that forest Vulcan." Erza said.
"She told you that part, huh?" I asked while rubbing the back of my head as she smiled kindly at me.
"Erza, I have one condition for coming along." Natsu spoke up.
"Oi!" Gray whispered.
"What? Tell me." Erza said.
"When we get back, I want Jay to fight me!" he declared.
"Huh?!" Lucy and Happy exclaimed.
"You…want to fight me?" I questioned him.
"That's right, I want to see how really strong you are!" Natsu said. Erza turned to me.
"Well Jason, what is your answer?" she asked.
I cross my arm and think. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing how I stack up to other wizards in this world. I have seven Plates at the moment and this can show me just how strong I'll become in the future. I open my eyes and smirked.
"Alright then, you got a fight Natsu but on a condition of my own." I said.
"And that is?" Natsu asked.
"We fight a few days after we get back to the Guild. No doubt this mission we're going on is going to be tough." I reasoned with him, "And I for one would like a proper fight after being well rested and ready to give it my all. What about you?" I asked with a smirk.
Natsu smirked as his head caught on fire as he shouted "All right! I'm all fired up!"…until we were riding the train to our destination. Motion sickness yo, I really pity people with it.
"Man, what a loser." Gray said, "This is how you get after picking a fight?"
"You can't blame the guy, not like he ASKED to have motion sickness." I said.
"Must be tough on him." Lucy said.
"You poor thing." Erza said, "Come, sit next to me."
"Aye." Natsu squeaked.
'So, you're telling me to move?' Lucy thought.
Afterward Lucy and Natsu swapped seats.
"I'll let you rest." Erza said.
"Aye!" Natsu squeaked…right before Erza socked him hard in the gut knocking the guy out! Natsu's head laid on Erza's lap.
"This way it's a bit easier on him." Erza said.
"…Right." I said not wanting to get gut punched myself.
'No, she is definitely a bit weird.' Lucy thought.
"Erza, isn't it about time you told us?" Gray said, "What are we supposed to be doing?"
"Our opponents are the Dark Guild, Eisenwald." Erza said, "They intend to do mischief with some magic called 'Lullaby'."
"Lullaby?" Gray and Happy exclaimed.
"Then, those guys from before…" Lucy said.
"I was right, this is connected." I said.
"Do you know something?" Erza asked.
I told Erza about what happened when we ran into the now identified Eisenwald member wizards.
"I see. So you also met some members of Eisenwald?" Erza clarified
"Well, they did say something about a Lullaby. There's no mistaking it" Gray said.
"They were refuges from Eisenwald." Erza said.
"I guess not every member was into whatever they have planned with this Lullaby." I theorised.
"I would imagine so." Erza confirmed. "That shadow that snatched them up was probably a member of Eisenwald's main force. They had to make a move to keep their plans from leaking."
"What could they be planning?" Lucy asked.
"How'd you even hear of Lullaby yourself anyway Erza." I asked her.
"I'll explain from the start." she said.
After Erza was done slaying the monster that her horn belonged to, she stopped at a bar to rest in the town of Onibas. It was here that she overheard some Eisenwald members talking about Lullaby. How they couldn't get it due to some sort of seal but one of their members named 'Koge' said he'd get through it in three days.
"And it's been three days since then, right?" I asked with Erza nodding.
"Lullaby…Like, a song to get children to sleep?" Lucy asked.
'Somehow, I doubt that Lucy.' I thought.
"And the seal he was talking about was thought to be quite a strong spell." Erza said.
"So they were also part of Eisenwald." Gray said.
"Yes. But I foolishly didn't think of it at the time. Or the name Erigor." Erza chastised herself.
"Their leader, I'm guessing." I said.
"The top ace of the Dark Guild Eisenwald." Erza explained. "Erigor, who's nicknamed 'shinigami' since he only takes assassination requests."
"Assassinations?" Lucy asked shocked.
"Naturally such requests are banned by the Council. But Eisenwald wanted money." Erza said. "And so six years ago they were thrown out of the Wizard's Guild League. However, they didn't listen to orders and have continued to operate."
"Maybe I should go home…" Lucy said scared, as she began sweating.
"You're looking juicy all of a sudden." Happy said.
"It's sweat." Lucy said.
"I was in error." Erza said while slamming her fist down on Natsu's head. "If I had noticed Erigor's name back then I would have forced them to suffer and made them tell me their plans!"
"Scary!" Lucy squeaked.
"I see." Gray said. "Eisenwald is planning to do something with the Lullaby. And it's definitely something evil, so you want to stop them."
"Yes. I don't feel as if I can oppose an entire Guild on my own, and that is why I asked for your help." Erza said. "We're heading straight into Eisenwald!"
"The head on approach then." I said nodding.
"Sounds interesting." Gray commented.
"Aye!" Happy said.
"I wish I hadn't come…" Lucy regretted.
"Don't worry Lucy, we'll be fine with my Pokémon with us." I reminded her which snapped her out of her funk.
"That's right! I almost forgot you carry a small army around with you!" Lucy said relived.
"Ah yes, I was told of these mysterious creatures that are with you Jason." Erza said. "Would it be alright you let one of them out?"
"Well some of them are pretty big," I said grabbing the Love Ball "but this one should be fine. Come on out Angel."
Angel popped out of the ball.
"Lucy, Erza met Angel." I introduced.
"Hello!" Angel greeted the two females.
There were stars in their eyes looking at her.
"Oh my god! She's so cute!" Lucy squealed as Erza nodded.
Afterwards we bought some lunch from the train stop, where Lucy tried to get a discount by acting cute and sexy. Soon we were off again, and Lucy asked Erza a question that I also wanted to know.
"By the way, what kind of magic do you use, Erza-san?" Lucy asked.
"Please, just call me Erza." she requested.
"Erza'a magic is really pretty." Happy said. "Her opponent's blood goes everywhere!"
"Can you not say things like that when we're eating, please?" Angel said disgusted.
"I think Gray's magic is prettier than mine." Erza complimented.
"Really?" Gray asked as he cupped his hands together and created a small Fairy Tail ice sculpture.
"Well, your Make magic is cool, I'll give you that." I said.
"Ice Magic." Gray said.
"Oh, so that's why you two don't get along. Natsu is fire and you're ice." Lucy said.
"Really?" Erza asked him.
"Whatever." Gray just shrugged it off.
"And Mira said that your magic is a Take Over Lost Magic Type, Jason?" Erza asked looking at me.
"Yeah, I have to find these artifacts called Plates to unlock more of it." I said.
"The ones that are located hidden all over Fiore, correct?" Erza asked.
"That's right. Only 11 left." I nodded.
"So, how come there's only 18?" Lucy asked.
"They represent the 18 Pokémon Type's." I answered.
"18 Types?" Gray asked.
"What are they?" Erza asked, intrigued.
"There's Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dark, Steel, Dragon and Angel's typing Fairy." I answered. "Some Pokémon even have dual typing."
"There are Pokémon that are Dragons?!" Lucy asked shocked.
"That's right. In fact, four of my Pokémon are Dragon types." I said.
"Wow, wait until Natsu wakes up! He'll want to meet them!" Happy said.
Shortly after, we arrived at Onibus station. We proceeded off the train, but I couldn't shake the feeling we forgot something.
"Jay." Angel said as I looked at her, "We left Natsu on the train." (Cue glass shattering sound effect here)
My body froze until I shouted, "OH SHIT!" this got the attention of the others as they were ahead of us.
"What's wrong Jay?" Lucy asked worried.
"Is it Eisenwald?" Erza asked.
"We forgot Natsu on the train!" I told them and they stilled. I heard the Trains whistle and looked behind me, seeing it chug along out of the station.
"He departed." Happy said as the blue fucker waved it goodbye. Lucy's jaw was like her suitcase; dropped. Gray was speechless and Erza began to reprimand herself.
"I was so busy telling the story, I forgot about him!" Erza scowled herself, "What have I done? And I know he's bad with transportation. This is all my fault. Please, would someone hit me?"
"Now, now…" Lucy tried to ease her.
"When you're done beating yourself up Erza, find the controls for the train and stop it. I'll go on ahead and get Natsu then wait for you all to catch up." I said already coming up with a plan as I returned Angel then swapped her ball with Tempests. "I need your help, Tempest!"
Out came the prehistoric Pokémon, ready to assist me. I climb on his back, and we took off. The others just looked at me in surprise as I made a plan on the spot like that. Erza was the first to break the silence.
"…Mira was right, he's incredibly smart." Erza said then turned to the others "Let's find the controls."
"Right." both Gray and Lucy nodded.
As Tempest flew us to the train, he decided to mock me.
"You seriously forgot the motion sick guy, on the train?" he smirked.
"Shut up." I said.
"All I'm saying is you have only one in your party, and you left him there." Tempest said.
"I get it okay!" I snapped. Luckily the train was in our sight. "There it is."
As we pulled up beside the window that was our car and I see Natsu along with another guy.
"Who the hell is that?" Tempest asked.
The unknown guy then used his magic to hit Natsu with…SHADOWS?!
"He's the member of Eisenwald! Tempest give Natsu some help with Double-Edge!" I ordered him.
Tempest readied himself as a white aura appeared around him. The Eisenwald member noticed us out the window and his eyes widened. Tempest then launched at him, but he jumped back to dodge. I used the chance to jump off and return Tempest.
"You good Natsu?" I asked him.
"Yeah, but that guy…" Natsu said.
"I know, I saw his magic." I said while looking at the guy who looked at me in surprise, "He's the guy who silenced the other five from before." I then realized something 'Wait, since we just left Onibus he must be that Koge guy that Erza said stayed behind to get Lullaby. If he's on the train leaving, then that means…'
Before I could finish my thought the train came to a screeching halt. I was able to keep my balance by grabbing a seat, but Natsu and 'Koge' didn't and fell over. Then out of 'Koge's' jacket came a flute.
"It stopped…" Natsu said relived.
I immediately run for the flute, having a strong feeling what it is. Just before I can grab it 'Koge' attacked me with his shadows, forcing me to back off as he picks it up.
"Damn, so close!" I grunted.
"You saw it!" 'Koge' growled.
"What is that?" Natsu asked looking at the flute.
"Something we need to get no matter what!" I said before looking at the shadow user and demanding "That flute is Lullaby isn't it!" Natsu widened his eyes at me and looked at our foe.
'Koge' flinched in response, which is all the both of us needed to know. 'He figured it out so quickly?! Who is this guy?' he then noticed my mark "Another Fairy Tail member?!"
"Natsu!" I called out and he jumped over me.
"Yeah!" Natsu shouted as he had already charged up an attack to nail the guy.
"Guard Shadow!" he tried to defend himself. When the attack landed 'Koge' got launched back and the car ruined.
"Crap…Damn you…" 'Koge' groaned.
"High Punch." Natsu said holding his fist up.
"Nice one." I complimented him, "Now let's grab him and get Lullaby." Unfortunately, luck was not on our side.
"Uh, that emergency stop was a false alarm." the overhead speakers spoke, "We will be departing shortly."
"Crap!" Natsu gulped.
"Change of plan; Natsu you get off the train and I'll grab the flute." I quickly told him.
"That's a plan I can agree with!" Natsu said as he grabbed his bag.
"Wait right there, you!" he yelled. "You won't get away with hurting a member of Eisenwald!"
"So you're one of those Eisenwald guys? You talked a lot of trash about Fairy Tail." Natsu said.
"Oh did he now?" I asked. "Well then mister dark wizard, you wouldn't have any trouble taking on us LEGAL Guild members, right?" but once again, luck not on our side as the train began to move again.
"Crap not now!" I growled looking up. 'Koge' took advantage of this and hit both me and Natsu out of the car wall. Good news is that the others caught up to us. Bad news was we were in a heads on collision with the car Erza was driving.
"Double Team!" I yelled making clones of myself to take the crash while I got closer to the ground and landed safely. Natsu not so much as he headbutted with Gray.
Erza stops the car and calls out to me and Natsu, "Jason, Natsu are you both okay?"
"Aye." Natsu groans.
"I'm good." I said.
"That hurt, jerk!" Gray snapped.
"Shut up! You left me behind, huh?" Natsu snapped back.
"Sorry man." I said apologizing.
"That we did." Erza admitted. "At least you're unhurt." as she proceeds to slam his head into her metal chest plate and hurting him.
"That hurt!" Natsu said, "What do you mean, unhurt? Me and Jay fought some weird guy on the train."
"Weird guy?" Lucy asked.
"He means the guy who used shadow magic on those guys in the forest." I answered. "What's more, I think he might be that 'Koge' guy you overheard Erza."
"Really?" she asked.
"Yeah, he said he was part of Eisenwald or something." Nastu said before Erza slapped him.
"You idiot!" Erza yelled. "Eisenwald are the people we're after! How could you let him escape from under your nose?"
"This is the first time I heard about it…" Natsu said confused.
"I explained just a moment ago!" Erza scowled. "Listen to people when they're talking to you!"
Yeah no, I had to call her out on this, so I yelled "Hard for a person to listen to someone talking when said talker knocks the listener out cold before starting their explanation!" Erza comedically blanched hearing me. "Also, he had a flute that I think was Lullaby." I said.
"Then we need to hurry immediately!" Erza said snapping out of it and getting into the driver's seat of the car.
"What did he and the flute look like?" Gray asked.
"The guy had his hair tied to look like a palm tree." I said. (Insert Shikamaru joke here)
"The flute was shaped like a skull with three eyes." Natsu said.
"Did you say a three eyed skull!" Lucy exclaimed.
"Lucy, what's the matter?" Happy asked.
"I know about that flute." she said. "Lullaby…the song of curse! Magic of Death!"
"It's fucking DEATH magic!" I exclaimed in shock! That does it! When we get back, I'm learning about all the types of magic they have in this world!
"What?" Erza asked.
"Song of curse?" Gray asked. "You mean like, a magic song?"
"I've only read about them in books, but one of the forbidden magics is the curse of death, right?" Lucy asked.
"Right. A black-magic curse that saps the life out of the person it's cast upon." Erza explained.
"Lullaby is even worse!" Lucy exclaimed. "It's mass-death curse magic!"
Our eyes widened at this reveal as we now understood how dire the situation has truly become.
"Everyone in the magic-driver now!" Erza ordered.
We couldn't all fit, so Natsu, Lucy and Happy go inside while Gray held on top, and I held on in the front with Erza. After we got settled, Erza punched it to the max.
"What even is this car?" I asked.
"It's called the magic-driver!" Gray answered. "It uses a person's magic as fuel, but Erza, you're going too fast!"
I did notice we were a little fast, plus the bouncing was a sign as well.
"Even it it's you, don't underestimate the amount of magic it'll drain from you!" Gray shouted at her.
"We don't have that kind of time!" Erza argued. "If Erigor gets his hands on that mass-death curse, then…there's no telling what he'd do!" 'Damn him…what's he after?'
If that's true that this machine takes a lot of magic and she drove all the way from the station then…
"Erza let me wear the strap and use my magic!" I said. I'm not 100% sure if this would work, but what I can understand about magic so far is that it's a type of energy. Therefore, I should be able to power it…hopefully.
"There's no need for that!" Erza argued.
"Erza, you won't be able to help stop Eirgor if you're too exhausted to fight!" I snapped at her. "Even if we arrive and I'm not in fighting shape, at least I have my Pokémon to protect me! I've even trained them to fight without my orders if I'm unable to do so!"
Erza thinks about it. "Alright then!" she takes the strap of and hands it to me as I quickly put it on.
'Please work, please work, please for the love of Arceus work!' I chant in my head. After a few moments I can feel the suction of my energy and- "HOLY SHIT!" I swore as we started ZOOMING! Nearly three times more then we were going before!
"WHOA! Guess Lost Magic is on a whole different level!" Gray shouted as he held on for dear life.
"Indeed!" Erza agreed. "Hold on tight everyone!"
"Get ready Erigor, because Fairy Tails coming to kick your ass!" I declared.
