"What am I doing down here? How did this happen?" She finally stopped using Alastor as a perch. She began to stand on her own two legs. She looked around. "Oh no! I overslept! And sleep walking!"
"Calm down, dear." Alastor patted her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. "Neana was using your body. She came down here to redeem souls. I'm guessing she decided you needed a nap." He let out a light chuckle.
"Neana? What?" She pressed her palm to her forehead. It seemed as if she was nursing a headache. "You mean she possessed me?"
"Yes, Aunty." Charlie walked forward and helped Selena stabilize herself.
"No wonder I feel so out of whack. It's been ages since that happened. I feel like I'm nursing a hangover." She seemed paler than normal. Alastor took her by the elbow and led her to the bar to sit down. Husker ran behind the bar and got her a glass of water while simultaneously looking for the ingredients to his hangover cure. Perhaps it could help her. She downed the water quickly. "I think the last time I felt this way due to her possession was the first time she inhabited me. After that, it got easier." She sighed. A reddish-orange concoction sat in front of her. With Husk's demand that she down it quickly, she did. Her stomach lurched then settled. It tasted revolting. "So tell me play by play what happened and what was said." They included all of it including what she said to Alastor. "Curious. I guess she recognized your soul somehow. Or rather she expected you to change in the short time we've known each other. I mean it hasn't even been a year yet."
"You talk about me to her?" Alastor was curious and raised an eyebrow.
"I talk about all of you to her. I pray for each of you or even inform her of my day. After all, she is the one person who has been with me since the beginning." Selena blushed a bit. As if she had revealed some big secret. Over the course of the conversation, Selena slowly started feeling like herself again. "I mean. She was my only friend for a long time, and even now, I still lean on her." She shook her head to remove the thoughts of her lonelier days in Hell. Days before Lucifer. "Anyway! It's awesome that she's taken on ten souls! It's a start and can prove we're real and serious about redemption. Right, Charlie?"
"Yeah, but Aunty. You were possessed. Are you sure you are okay?"
"Not the first and probably won't be the last. Besides, she got my consent when I was human. It's fine. I'm used to a little warning but no matter. What's done is done. Besides when I felt a presence last night I should've guessed. It's just been so long since I've been her walking body."
"She used to possess you?" Charlie was shocked. They were looking at the corporeal self of the goddess Neana.
"Ehhh. From time to time. It was more for speaking prophecies. I don't think she's ever actually controlled my body before today." Selena shrugged. She didn't seem too bothered by the situation. Charlie just sort of gawked at her. It was strange to her to let someone else control her body. Selena though didn't seem bothered by it once she understood the situation. Even Alastor was bothered. His love was possessed by a supposedly magnanimous being. He still didn't believe the intentions she had given Selena. "Well it's over now, and the redemption process has begun. Hopefully, Neana will gain followers which will empower her and allow us to take down God." Selena dropped down from her seat at the bar.
A demon who lagged around after the incident walked up to Selena. "Miss, just who are you?"
"I'm the high priestess to the goddess Neana. I'm here with the princess to help redeem your souls.
"I understand. I videoed the ordeal. I want your permission to post it online."
Selena was surprised. Charlie stepped in, "Absolutely!" Selena nodded in agreement. Perhaps this would get word out and give Neana more followers. Plus it would spread word that redemption truly was possible. Charlie was now vibrating with excitement. "If this gets out, people will really be saved and can finally find peace!"
The demon walked away. Selena thought for a moment. Currently a third of the demons originally brought by the redemption rebellion had been redeemed. Now that it was possible there was a chance the hotel would be overfilled with patrons from the redemption rebellion alone. She would have to tell Zelen. That meant overtime for Niffty, Ryan, and herself. She groaned internally. "There's a problem, Charlie."
Charlie got less excited. "What?"
"We don't have enough space available for the redemption rebellion alone. Let alone any stragglers. Niffty and Ryan and myself will be overworked trying to get it ready. Plus, denying people will probably kill their drive."
"Well, dear. I might be able to help get a few more floors done. That is when I don't have Overlord duties to attend to. Plus we can fill up what we currently have. One step at a time." Alastor placed his hands on Selena's shoulders. He felt some tension leave her.
"If you think you can help, that will be great. I didn't want to use my powers, but to prepare for this influx I feel I must. Problem is that I haven't used my powers on such a grand scale before. I think I can repair all the rooms and have us clean it. Though we will need more staff to keep up with the upkeep." Alastor did not enjoy watching her stress. She sighed. "I'll get started." Selena sat down in the middle of the room. She sat in a meditative stance. Her legs were crossed and her hands on her knees. Everyone watched with curiosity. After a few moments, purple flames surrounded her in a circle. Soon they branched off into multiple little flames that darted up into the depths of the hotel. The purple flame around her continued to blaze. Sweat began to drip down her brow. Soon more flames popped up. Alastor counted. She was easily controlling forty flames with separate wills. Soon more and more poured from the circle that surrounded her. And more. And more. She got up from the flame circle. She looked stressed, but was handling the magic well as far as Alastor could tell. "The first few are already on this task, but go. Redecorate the hotel's upper floors. The flames burst into tiny people with fox masks on.
"Yes, mistress!" The flames had tiny squeaky voices. Moving as fast as Niffty, they all zoomed off.
