There they were, all in the main room asking questions about what's going on. There was Tails, Amy, Cream with her pet Chao Cheese, Vanilla, Knuckles, Manic, Sonia still in her wheelchair in the corner looking a little worried, and Silver even brought Blaze.

"This is who we could get on short notice. The Chaotix are out on another gig, Shadow and Rouge didn't respond." The echidna spoke.

"It's fine, this is more than enough…"

"Sonic, what is going on? What's this about a whole new past?" Amy demanded.

"Mr. Sonic, Who are those two and why do they look almost like you?" Cream softly questioned.

"Guys, guys, hang on a sec, will ya? I'll explain everything…" Everyone was starting to be at ease after that, no more questions were being called out, at least not yet anyway.

Sonic didn't know where to start so he went back to the beginning.

"Look, I'm still Sonic, but just not the one you know. My actual name is just Sonic Hedgehog… (Like I'm gonna tell them my middle name…) I used to live in the capital of Mobius itself, Mobotropolis…"

Everyone new in the group was confused, but a certain rabbit was intrigued by this. She made sure no one noticed her change in expression to conceal what she knows.

"Mobotropolis? I never heard of that place." Cream said.

"I think that is one of the cities that were taken over and destroyed-" Amy was interrupted by Sonic.

"It wasn't destroyed." A little too forcefully, causing Amy to jump a bit. He sighed before continuing.

"In that city, there is a Queen who ruled all. She alone ruled all of Mobius who also lived in Mobotropolis."

"Kind of like a fairytale!" Cream added. Cheese gave out a cheerful 'Chao' at that.

"Kinda… Yeah… Anyway, later down the road, she gave birth to 3 little hedgehogs." He points to each of his siblings as he calls out, "Manic, Sonia…" He points to himself, "And Sonic…"

Everyone gasped. Well, besides the others that knew already. Sonic was a prince?! He had a whole new life he never told about? Why did he keep this a secret? Amy was just shocked, more shocked than anything. She has been trying to date a prince without even knowing it. Cream was amazed, her friend was a prince! It's like a fairytale come true! I mean, come on, she's 6!

"So, you're a prince? But I thought the capital was a myth." Amy spoke.

"No, it's real. Alive and thriving." Sonic replied.

He told everything that happened. Being separated, losing his foster parents and uncle, reuniting with his siblings, spending time together training, going on adventures, and finally reuniting with their mother after defeating Robotni- Er, Eggman out of the city.

"If that was your home and you loved it so much, why did you leave it?" Cream asked.

"Because-"

"Because he had to make sure the doctor wouldn't try to take over somewhere else and hurt even more people." Vanilla responded leaving Sonic bewildered.

"Huh?!" Everyone let out, confused on how Vanilla already knows.

"That is why you left, correct?"

"Y-yeah?"

"Mother? You know Mr. Sonic's past?"

"I do not know all of it, but I know of his mother."

"You knew mom?!" Manic blurted.

"I did, before the war…"

Flashback

"I was almost 11 when I first met your mother, well besides seeing her in public events. It was only about a year before it started."

Vanilla was walking down the path carrying a basket full of fruits and vegetables along with a few flowers she picked along her way back home. She was almost home where a commotion of cheering citizens could be heard.

"I heard people cheering and celebrating on my way home, But I do not remember what for. All I know it was something to do with the queen herself as they were cheering her name."
The crowd was indeed cheering her name, welcoming her to the town. Vanilla tried to look past the other citizens from afar to see her queen, but was too short and far away to get a clear sight. She only saw her with her back towards her for only a brief moment before leaving to get back home. "Oh well," she thought, keeping her happy attitude. A few seconds later she felt something tug her basket. She stopped and looked up to see a teenage Mobian grabbing her basket and pulled it out of her hands. "Hey! That's my basket! I need to bring that home for supper! Please, give it back!" She asked. "Or what? You gonna cry? Maybe I'll give you a few veggies before I throw them away."

Vanilla gave a small gasp before crying out, "No, please! I need them for supper, can you please just give me back my basket?" She tries to take the basket again, but gets blocked and pushed into the dirt by the bully. She lets out a few tears before he continues with, "Oh, what's this? Flowers? What are you gonna do with these? Nothing anymore." He throws them on the ground and stomps them. Vanilla is horrified by this and starts to cry even more. He picks up a tomato from the basket with intent to throw at her, Vanilla closes her eyes and braces herself from the impact. Just as the bully prepares to throw, a hand grabs his wrist preventing him from moving. "That's enough, young man!" A voice rings out. The bully is frozen in fear and Vanilla opens her eyes and is shocked to see the queen right in front of her stopping the bully and taking the basket away from him, "Now, go before I tell your parents!" She demanded. He didn't reply. He just stared for a second before running the opposite direction. The Queen turned back to the roughed up rabbit and helped her up, "Are you alright?" "Yes. I'm fine, your majesty." "Oh please, call me Aleena. What's your name?" "Vanilla. Thank you for helping me with that bully!" Aleena chuckled, "Oh, it was nothing. I couldn't just stand by and let that continue. Here…" Aleena hands Vanilla her basket back. "Thank you so much!" She screamed with joy. "You're very welcome!" She replied, but noticed her smile fell and looked even more upset. "What's wrong?" Vanilla could only point to the dead, crushed flowers on the ground next to them. Aleena got the message and only could copy her sad expression before getting an idea with a smile. "Hey, Why don't you head home, it's getting late. I can come with you just so you arrive home safe." "Oh, you don't have to do that. I shouldn't waste anyone's time. Especially the queen with stuff like this!" "How polite, but I must insist." "Well, ok! My home is just down the far side of the path. It has a red roof with orange windows." Aleena looks down the path and points to the one Vanilla just described, "That one?" The rabbit looks to where she pointed and says, "Yep! That's the one!" The purple hedgehog queen chuckles before asking, "Hey, Vanilla. Wanna see something cool?" She nods, "Stay still…" She does so. Aleena lets out a low sigh and begins to glow a purple outline around her and Vanilla. A second later, The two transported from where they were to the front door of the house. "Wow!" Aleena knocked a couple times on the door before looking back at the little rabbit girl and noticing her dirty clothes. "Oh!" She said before using her power to make clothes look clean again. Vanilla was just amazed, nothing else. Vanilla's mother answered the door and was shocked to see the queen with her daughter. Aleena explained everything and she quickly understood. Just when the queen was about to depart she tells Vanilla, "Don't worry about the flowers, little one. I'll get you a little gift in the morning, Have a good evening." They all say their goodbyes and nothing else happened that night.

"True to her word, the next morning, there was a large bouquet of beautiful flowers on the table with a card signed by the queen herself."

End of Flashback

"After that, she would send more letters to me. Asking questions like what I like, my favorite thing, fun activities to do. I would ask the same with her and she answered. It wasn't until a few months before the war she stopped sending letters. Her most recent one was about you three by name. Sonic, Sonia, and Manic. Then one night, another letter appeared right in front of me. I opened it and it only had one sentence…" She paused before remembering the call to arms.

"What happened, Mother? What did the letter say?" Her daughter asked, holding her hand.

"Leave the city, it is no longer safe…"

Everyone in the room gasped.

"She asked you to leave?" Sonia hesitated.

"Yes, I lost all contact with her after that night. We packed everything we could and the next day the entire city was under attack. Sirens went off, soldiers were sent to the battlefield, It was horrible."

She pulled out an old, decaying piece of folded paper and gave it to Sonic. Once he opened it, it indeed was very short but Vanilla summed it up,

Dear Vanilla,

Please, Leave the city. Tensions are rising and it is no longer safe to be here. Do not worry, I will be fine.

After a moment of silence, she said one final thing,

"After we left, I never heard anything from that city ever again. After so many years and after Cream I just forgot." She chuckles, "Until our first encounter."

"First encounter?" Tails voiced.

Sonic snapped his fingers, "The pod! We first met after I saved you from falling out of orbit after I went Super!"

"When the pod collapsed and I was falling to my doom, I saw you. You have her eyes and look just like her. For a moment I almost thought it was her saving me, just like when she saved me from that bully. My suspicions were only confirmed when Cream told me your name." She let out a big sigh. "There, I believe I have explained everything." She looked around to see everyone was still confused. "Did I say something wrong?"

"No, Miss Vanilla. We heard every word." Silver answered.

"Wait, If you knew him before you officially met. Then, why did you say nothing?" Blaze asked.

"Yeah, How come you didn't expose me? If you knew, then why did you keep that a secret? All this time I thought I could only talk to Knuckles about this and to find out you knew my mother even better than me? Why?!" Sonic yelled.

"Hey! Don't be harsh on mother!" Cream defended as Cheese let out an angry 'chao.'
"No, Cream. It's alright, he needs to know."

"Huh?" She looked upset at her mother.

"I am so confused right now…" Amy whispered.

"You're telling me." Tails whispered back.

"I was told not to…" Vanilla whispered.

"What?" Sonic wondered.

"I was told not to tell. I couldn't or a prophecy would never be fulfilled."

Sonic froze with wide eyes, so did his siblings. 'Did she just say a prophecy? Deja vu. Wait, does that mean…?' Sonic shakes his head.

"A prophecy? I'm not aware of any prophecy that is in place here." Silver stated.

"Vanilla… Who told you not to tell?"

"I never got his name. Shortly after you saved me and we went home I was still processing the event and haven't told anyone yet. That night, as I was closing my door, someone appeared in my room in a flash of light. He was a bit tall, had a dark cloak, and had green skin."

Manic started to piece everything together, "That sounds a lot like-"

"Oracle!" The triplets shouted in unison.

"Ora-Who?" Amy queried.

"The Oracle Of Delphius!" Sonia answered. "He was the one that told mother of our prophecy to defeat Robotnik! Are you saying that he came to you too?"

"Yes,I tried to ask questions myself. Why was Aleena's son here? Where are his two other siblings? And…. Was she still alive? He couldn't answer, all he said was to wait until the three reunite once more for the final battle…"

"He must mean now, We are reunited again and this will be the biggest fight yet after what he did." Manic stated.

"What did he do, exactly?" Blaze wondered which peaked Sonic's interests too.

"Yeah, What did he do? Judging from what happened to you guys when we found you, it can't be good…"

"It's… all a blur, to be honest…" Sonia said looking defeated.

"Yeah, bro. It was so quick. All I remember is seeing smoke from the city and buildings collapsing or blowing up… and he had some kind of strange laser weapon…"

Tails' ears rose, "What do you mean a strange laser weapon?"

"I dunno, it just felt weird. I can't describe it."

Sonia decided to help her brother, "I felt it too, it felt so… Chaotic…"

Knuckles' eyes went wide, "How chaotic?" he asked.

"Uh… I don't know. The closer it got, the more crazy it was…" She replied.

"Knux, you don't think…" Sonic points at the red echidna.

"I'm afraid so… He has a Chaos Emerald."

"Great, This just made everything 10 times worse."

"So that's how…" Tails pondered.

"How what, Tails?" Blaze asked for everyone in the room.

Tails then pulled out the 2 medallions he's been studying, "I've been studying these medallions Sonia and Manic wore during the battle. My scanners revealed that they had little to no Chaos Energy. I scanned Sonic's and it showed the complete opposite. My guess is he must've used that Chaos Emerald to drain their power. They didn't stand a chance…"

Sonia and Manic were in the corner confused and gave depressed looks. After hearing that they lost their medallion's power, they feel like they failed and are useless. Sonic saw this and knew something was wrong. He slowly walked towards them and made Manic kneel down with him to be eye level with Sonia.

"What's wrong, sibs?"

After another moment of silence, Manic spoke up.

"We… We failed…"

"What? No you didn't, You were just caught off guard."

"No, Sonic…" Sonia interrupted. "We failed and lost our medallions…"

"Sonia, don't think that. You didn't fail-"
"We did, Sonic!" Sonia was almost screaming at this point. "We tried to defend our home and failed! We lost our power from the medallions that our own mother gave us before she gave us away to STRANGERS! Now, we are separated AGAIN and we don't even know if she is even ALIVE! Those medallions are probably the only thing left to remember her by. Now look at them! History is repeating itself, can't you see that! Only this time-... it may be permanent…" Sonia then broke into an unstoppable crying fit.

"Sonia.. That's not true…" Sonic said a bit bitterly. His aura started to flare up. Manic noticed this and quickly pulled him to the other room before he erupts again. Manic disappears with Sonic and everyone in the room besides Tails and Knuckles just look at each other in confusion.

Manic reached a closed off room and closed the door before he grabbed Sonic by the shoulders and shook him.

"Sonic! Snap out of it! Calm down!"

"I-.. She-... Mom-..." Sonic was struggling to get a clear sentence out. Every emotion was surfacing and he couldn't control it. His eyes were flashing from green to red and back, he was losing control.

"Sonic! Breathe! Don't give into- Whatever you did the first time! …You're scaring me…"

Those last words made Sonic flinch and froze in place, wide eyed with those big red eyes. Him scaring his siblings definitely made him stop, but maybe did more than that. He closed his eyes and shook his head. He looked down and didn't look back up and started to whisper to his brother.

"I'm sorry, Manic. Can you grab Sonia for just a moment, please?"

Manic let go of his brother, "Yeah, Sure… Just don't do that again."

Sonic gave nothing but a mumble of acknowledgement. Manic left to get her, leaving Sonic for just a moment.

"I'm so sorry, my children…"
