Will and Chris were helping Rory unload the car. Rory told them that was their punishment for bickering all the way to the Vineyard. Next time she will take Logan up on the plane. Em was excited. She couldn't wait to build a sandcastle. It will be just Rory, Karson, and the kids on the first night. Logan and Ricky will be flying in from London Friday. They have been in London off and on for most of the summer. The plan was to spend all of July at the Vineyard. Mitchum deeded the Vineyard house to Logan and Rory after they got married. The twins will have their birthday party as well as Em on the Vineyard. Rory and Logan were also hosting an Engagement Party for Karson and Ricky on July 31. This will be a busy month at the Vineyard.

Guests were expected throughout the month. Lorelai, Luke, and Matthew will be coming in early Saturday morning. After much discussion, they decided to sell the Sandcastle last year. It turns out they spent more time with Rory's family on the Vineyard than they did on Nantucket. They will be staying through Tuesday only to return Sunday for the twins' birthday party Monday.

Christopher no longer has the Hayden house on the other side of the island. He now owns the one next door to the Huntzburgers. He has been dating Leslie for a couple of years. She has 1 grown son and she is raising her 3-year-old granddaughter Beverly whose parents Linda and Jim were killed in a car wreck. Linda was Leslie's daughter. Last she talked to Leslie, they would be arriving Friday. Leslie's plans were to stay the month of July. Like Logan and Ricky, Christopher would be traveling back and forth all month. Rory was not sure when Leslie's son planned to arrive. Rory was glad they had the house next door. I was one less thing for her to worry about.

Cynthia, Mitchum, and Jessi would be arriving Saturday, along with Joshua, Sam, Honor, and Josh. She was not sure how long they would be staying. Lane and her family would be there on the 4th, only to stay one night. April and her family will be visiting Anna this year.

After unloading the car, the boys changed into their swim trunks and hit the pool. Rory and Karson were in the kitchen making a list of groceries they would need to pick up when they heard the splash of them hitting the water. "I bet they did not unpack. They have not had time" Rory sighed. "I will be glad when Logan finishes up that project in London. You can tell he hasn't been around as much. The boys tend to misbehave when he's gone" Rory said, shaking her head.

"Moma the boys won't help me find my swimsuit. I not finding it." Em whines,

Karson smiled at her. "How about I help you unpack and then change into your swimsuit?" Karson asked.

"The boys didn't unpack," Em said.

Karson scooped her up. "I know and they are in trouble," Karson said, making Em giggle.

While Karson is helping Em, Rory makes a pot of coffee. When they come back downstairs, Kason and Em are dressed for the pool. Rory grabs a book and heads for the deck. The kids are splashing so much that Rory does not hear the front door open and close. Karson and Em are shooting the boys with the water guns when she looks up and sees Logan and Ricky standing behind Rory. She squeals and heads for the steps to get out of the pool. This brings Rory's attention to what caused her to squeal. Rory turns around just in time to see Karson almost knock Ricky down jumping in his arms. They were both laughing. "I thought you wouldn't be here till tomorrow," Rory said.

Logan shrugged his shoulders " We missed our ladies." He chuckled. "We finished early."

Rory stood up to hug Logan when she noticed Karson and Ricky. "Keep it PG," she said. They both started laughing, Karson burying her face in Ricky's chest.

Logan and Rory left Karson and Ricky in charge while they went grocery shopping. When they returned, everyone was in the pool. Logan started the grill, while Rory started the food prep in the kitchen. They enjoyed a simple meal, with the boys loading the dishwasher. They were trying to stay on Rory's good side. Especially with their dad home.

After eating, Ricky and Karson went for a walk on the beach, while Logan and Rory played in the pool with the kids.

The next morning, Friday, July 2, Rory could hear the boys downstairs. She snuggled into Logan. Maybe Ricky or Karson would get up with them. It wasn't long before she woke up to a loud crash. Logan jumped up, grabbing his shorts on the way out the door. Ricky, Karson, Logan, and Rory all came barrelling down the stairs, only to see Chris struggling to keep Em on his hip, while Will was attempting to clean up the broken glass. "Woah," Rory said. "Step back. All of you. I will clean it up. I am not spending the summer with one of you in stitches from broken glass." Everyone stepped back.

Logan grabbed Em off of Chris' hip. Karson and Rory both went to the deck to get their shoes on so they could clean up the mess. "Hey, why all the tears?" Logan asked Em.

"Will said I was in trouble because I wouldn't let him help and dropped my juice glass." She told him all the while with her head on his shoulder. She had missed her daddy.

"Well, you should let your brothers help. They are older. Next time, okay?" Logan said.

"I tried to tell her, but she wouldn't listen. I don't know where she gets that stubbornness from." Will said. This caused all the adults to laugh.

"Daddy, we were going to clean it up." Will told him

"Thanks, but it is better if you let your mom or Karson do it. If you miss one little piece it could ruin the summer for someone." He told him.

After the clean-up, breakfast was served, Logan asked "What are the plans for the day?

"We have some errands," Karson said, answering for her and Ricky.

Rory said "I needed to get started on her next book. I plan on doing this on the deck."

Logan then looked at the boys. Both boys shrugged their shoulders. Logan laughed. "I think Grammy and Beverly will be arriving today. I am sure she could use your help opening up the house and unloading the car." Rory said.

Will and Chris nodded. "Yes ma'am"

Everyone enjoyed their day. Leslie and Beverly arrived along with Beverly's nanny Gloria. Will and Chris helped unload the car, then brought Beverly back with them. Rory got in the pool with the kids.
