Paul was so happy to see his brother again. That quickly went away when he saw how his brother was acting. Apparently, Marcus isn't all that happy with his brother, but it will have to wait. Paul got a call that Librium is making a move. He found the others on a rooftop and saw they were waiting for him.

"About time you showed up." Lindsay said. "Having too much fun with your little brother?"

"Don't start. I'm not all that happy with him right now." Paul said. "What's going on? What's Librium up to?"

"I did a little digging with some of New York's underground folks to see if they knew anything." Thomas claimed, but Paul looked at him with some suspicion. "Relax, no one got hurt. I was a nice about it. Besides, most of them were scared to talk since they remember what those guys are like. Luckily, I managed to get one to talk. How did he know, you might ask. This is New York. Even the scum know something about somebody. They're planning a heist on Silvio Industries."

"Silvio Industries?!" Paul said. "That sounds like Balancer again. He tried to claim what the crime lords had and was more than willing to go to war with them."

"But Christoph is out of the game. What could they want?" Lindsay questioned.

"Did you alert Christoph about what's going on?" Paul questioned.

"I did, but he's confident in his security system." Thomas said.

"Let's go pay him a visit." Paul said as he jumped off a building with the others following.

...

Marcus

Meanwhile, Marcus was in a sour mood after seeing his brother. After wrongfully drinking and smoking, he went over to his mother's place to just relax. However, when he walked right through the door, she was standing there and did not look pleased.

"I believe we need to talk, young man." Trisha said. "Your brother told me what was going on, and I'm very disappointed in you right now."

"Mom, I'm an adult. Would you please stop treating me like a kid?" Marcus said as he was in no mood for this.

"Sit!" Trisha said with the authority and power that mothers have over their children. Marcus just gave in and had a seat.

...

Silvio Industries

Christoph was in the middle of his work at his office. He was well aware of what was coming his way, but he felt safe and secured thanks to the company's security. He took a look at his computer to ensure the security was fully operational.

"Nothing to worry about." Christoph said. He thought he was safe, but he's about to be proven wrong. Up on the roof of his building, a few members of Librium were up there and they were getting ready to move down the side of the building.

"This Alpha Squad reporting in. Beta Squad, are we clear to move in yet?"

"Beta Squad here. We're just about ready." The truth was that a couple members of Librium already managed to sneak inside the building. They were disguised as security, engineers, and more so they could get to the security system and shut it down. They made their way through the system and was able to turn all of it off. Some of the lights through the building flickered and that did not go unnoticed by him.

"What is this?" Christoph questioned as he was getting a bad feeling about this.

"Alpha Squad, you are good to go." Beta Squad reported in. Alpha Squad went on in. They started to propel down the building and soon arrived down by Christoph's office with Christoph noticing them.

"What the hell?!" Christoph said as he didn't like this. The Librium members pulled out machine guns and aimed right at them. Christoph took cover as they opened fired and caused the glass windows to shatter. When enough of the glass broke off, they jumped right inside and took him hostage.

...

Outside

Meanwhile, Paul and his friends were able to make it to the building, but they saw it was already starting.

"We're too late. Librium is already beginning their attack." Paul said.

"So much for Christoph's great security system." Lindsay said.

"I'll head for his office. You two search around the building for any others." Paul said. He shot a ling and went straight up to the office with the others diving in the building.

...

The Office

"Get up!" A Librium member said as he forced Christoph to his feet and pushed him out of the way. The other two grabbed a hold of him while the third sat in his chair and was starting to dig through his computer.

"What are all of you doing here?" Christoph said as he tried to get out of his hold, but they wouldn't let him go. "What is the meaning of this."

"Shut up!" One said as he smashed his fist into Christoph's gut and knocked the wind right out of him. "To think this guy was once the notorious White Streak."

"Easy. If we can't find what we're looking for on his computer, he would be more useful to us alive."

"Wouldn't that rule apply to everyone?" They all looked up and saw Spider-Man swing in and landed on the roof. "It's a little ironic coming from people who killed so many before."

"Waste that spider!" The leader ordered. The other two shoved Christoph out of the way and started shooting at Paul, but he moved out of the way of the bullets. While they were fighting, the third one continued to try and search whatever it is they came for. Just what is it could Librium be after?

...

The Entrance

Meanwhile, Thomas and Lindsay jumped in front of the entrance. They walked carefully through, but that was when Librium came out and started shooting bullets at them. Thomas acted quickly as he grabbed Lindsay and jumped up to the ceiling.

"Should have seen that one coming." Thomas said.

"Care to throw me?" Lindsay asked. Thomas followed as he held her by her hands and give her a good throw towards the enemy. She landed behind one and kicked him in the back of his head. One tried to shoot her, but that was when Thomas dived down. He shot a line at the Librium member and threw him towards a wall.

"Whatever happened to good customer service? We're the guests here." Thomas joked. That was when more members of Librium showed up and started shooting at them.

...

Paul

Paul kept jumping around as the two Librium members kept trying to kill him. He couldn't get a good chance to counter as long as they still were. He caught a break when they both stopped to reload.

"Oh no you don't." Paul said as he shot a couple lines and pulled their guns right out of their hands. "You want them back? Here!" He threw them right back, but they both missed. However, Paul took the chance as he jumped at one and hit him right across the face. The other one tried to fight back as he tried to hit Paul, but Paul grabbed him by the arm and flipped him to have the guy smashed into the ground. "Christoph, are you okay?!"

"I'm good." Christoph said. Knowing he was safe, Paul turned to the last one.

"Get off that computer already." Paul said as he shot a line at the guy's arm and pulled it away from the computer. "What's Librium doing here?"

"You really think we would just tell you?" The guy said. He took his own machine gun and started shooting, but Paul jumped up to the ceiling and avoided the bullets. Paul shot a line and it hit the chair. He pulled and the chair crashed into the bad guy and threw him right over the desk. Paul landed down and webbed the guy as he pulled him over and stomped down on him to keep him from going anywhere.

"That be a lot less painful if you just simply tell me what's going on." Paul said.

"That will teach me to take threats more serious, but how could they have bypassed everything?" Christoph said.

"And what are they doing here in the first place? Take a look at that computer and see what he was doing." Paul said.

"Right." Christoph said. He was making his way to his computer, but that was when they heard a sound. They took a look and saw a chopper out there. That was right when the three Paul knocked down and got back up. They shoved him out of the way and the three of them ran for it. They ran straight for the helicopter and jumped inside as one more aimed a rocket at them.

"Christoph!" Paul shouted to warn him. He shot a line at him and pulled him out of the way as Librium shot a rocket at them. Paul grabbed Christoph and tried to jump out of the way, but the rocket detonated and the shockwaves smashed into them with the helicopter flying away. "That part is never fun..." He groaned from that impact. He took a look and saw Librium was long gone, but that doesn't mean this is over.

...

Later

Librium managed to escape yet again. After what happened, the team regrouped up in Christoph's office. Librium did a real number on the place.

"We fought them back, but they cleared out not long later." Thomas said as he told what happened to them.

"Probably because they already got what they were after." Paul said as he saw Christoph's computer was still intact. "Christoph, take a look at your computer. See if you can figure out what they were doing." Christoph agreed and had a look on there.

"So much for his great security system." Lindsay complained. "Although, it was rather weird that they were able to get through it. They didn't even fight it. They just shut the whole thing down."

"Yeah... How did they know to do that? How could they have even got in without anyone seeing anything?" Thomas questioned.

"Unless there was someone on the inside helping them, someone who knows the layout of the building." Lindsay figured. That part made sense, but who would willingly help them? "How could Balancer pull this off?"

"I'm starting to think Balancer isn't the one behind this." Paul said, but he still has no clues as to who really is.

"No!" Christoph shouted as he found a problem.

"What is it?" Paul questioned.

"I think this whole attack was really nothing more than a diversion." Christoph said as Paul had a look at the computer. "My computer has been hacked. They were just trying to give an outside source access into my company's network."

"Wait. Take a look there." Paul said as he pointed to something on the computer. "D-EL8. Ray told me that is what they were after." Seeing that sent a cold shiver down Christoph's spine, almost like he was terrified. "You know what it is? What is it?"

"Something that should never see the light of day." Christoph said as he ran straight out of there like he was frantic about something. None of them were sure what to think of that. Christoph clearly knows something, but what could it be? What is D-EL8?

...

Paul

Paul and his friends attempted to get Christoph to talk about what D-EL8 was, but he wouldn't talk. It was almost like he was scared. What could scare him? They couldn't force him to talk, and Librium was long gone again. The only thing that could be done was head home. However, Paul went straight to his mother's. He still had things to settle with his brother. When he walked through the door, he saw Marcus just sitting there like he was waiting for him.

"I had a feeling you would show eventually." Marcus claimed. "You saved lives?"

"Yeah, but the bad guys got away." Paul said.

"Wow. Sounds like you've had a grand time today." Marcus said as Paul had a seat near him.

"Mom talked to you, didn't she?" Paul said.

"And I caved." Marcus said as he felt a bit ashamed giving into his mother like that. "It's not easy." He said to start to things off.

"What is?" Paul questioned.

"It's not easy being Spider-Man's younger brother, even if people don't know I am." Marcus said. When he said that, Paul already began to see the problem. "There are times I wanted to tell others I'm Spider-Man's younger brother, but I know I can't. Even if I did, they would only see me as Spider-Man's brother. I wanted to be remembered as something more. That's why I studied so hard, why I left New York in the first place."

"I get that. Is that why you acted the way you did?" Paul questioned.

"Yeah..." Marcus said as he did feel a little ashamed about that too. "At first, I was happy to come back home, but I guess I never did learn how to really handle my problems. Coming home just reminded me of all of it. You have amazing powers, you're fighting crime, and saving lives. I, on the other hand, has never even been in a fight in my life. I just don't have what you have."

"Hey, don't think like that." Paul said. "You might not have the powers, but you got guts and brains."

"Maybe, but I cant' really show it." Marcus said. Paul finally sees the problem. Marcus resents his brother because of him being Spider-Man, but he's also jealous. At the same time, he just doesn't think he's special continued to his superhero older brother.

"Hey, Mom probably has dinner for both of us. Why don't we grab something to eat and we can talk more?" Paul offered.

"Sure." Marcus said. It seemed like it was a good step. Paul got up and went into the kitchen, but that was when their mother stepped out and was pleased now.

"See? Aren't you glad you talked to your brother?" Trisha said.

"Maybe, but I still don't feel that good about myself." Marcus said. Good thing he's home. Gives him a chance to work on his own problems. "How do you do it, Mom? How do you always manage to get me and Paul to fall in line like we're kids."

"Doesn't matter how old you are, never underestimate a mother's power." Trisha boasted. At least that got Marcus to chuckle. He has some thinking to do, but that made him puzzled about something.

"It's weird when I think about it." Marcus said. "I have some issues with my brother being Spider-Man, but I can't seem to remember when Paul told us he was Spider-Man. Mom, do you?" Trisha thought she did, but when she actually thinks about it, she doesn't.

"No. I feel like I've known for a long time, but I can't remember when he told us." Trisha said as they were both puzzled. A lot is going on. Things seemed bright before, but it looks like some darkness is making it's way. What is going to happen from here? What is to come of this darkness?
