As much as Bella and Edward love each other, they can't possibly understand what the other's life is like.
On Bella's 18th birthday, instead of a paper cut, a switch is about to make Forks even weirder.
How will Bella cope with suddenly being a 104-year-old mind-reading vampire in love with her singer? And how will Edward cope with being a human in love with a vampire?

Chapter 84
"For someone who's so convinced this is the life she wants, you suddenly appear very reluctant about it all," Rosalie said and leaned over the railing to look at Bella sitting on the lower steps of the stairs.
Bella glared sideways at her. They weren't as hostile as they'd been right before and after the switch, but they couldn't exactly claim themselves as friends either. "Gloating doesn't suit you, Rose," she replied and scooted farther away until she could lean back against the wall. "And I'm not reluctant about it. It's still what I want, but that doesn't change the difficult task I now have to say goodbye to my parents without actually telling them anything."
Rosalie's gleeful smirk fell and was replaced with a more genuinely compassionate expression as she rounded the railing parting them and sat down on the same step as Bella, but on the opposite side. "The only good thing about having your choice taken from you when you're changed is that you can avoid that part. But I'll tell you, if I'd known that night it was my last as a human, I would have used that day to play with my brothers like I'd never played with them before. I would have spent it with my mom, doing the things I know she enjoyed doing with me, and I would have told my dad how much I appreciated the life he'd built for us."
"I want to do all of that," Bella said. "I want to go fishing with my dad even though I hate it. I want to watch a game with him, and have dinner just to see him happy, but the second I tell him I'll go fishing with him, he'll know something's up. If he asks me, he won't believe what I say because I suck at lying."
"Maybe, but after you're gone, he won't care about your reasons for wanting to spend time with him. He'll only care that he's got that memory to hold on to."
Bella's eyes teared up at the thought of her dad grieving her. Renée had Phil, and she'd handle the loss much better because she was a master at finding herself distractions. Charlie wasn't like that.
But there was no other way. He couldn't be allowed to know.
A tissue appeared and Bella saw Rose offering it to her. "Thanks," she said and used it to dry her tears and nose. "You're right," she said. "Hopefully, it'll give him some kind of closure."
A/N:
Rosalie's walls are crumbling, and at the end of the day, she can feel sympathy with Bella, so that's good :)
Charlie will not be brought into the fold with the Cullen family in this story for several reasons, one of them being that this all takes place over the events of New Moon, and maybe it was just my impression, but I never got the feeling that Bella and Charlie were particularly close until Eclipse. They did, naturally, create a new kind of bond with each other during Edward's absence since he had to care for her at her lowest, but without Edward leaving, the two of them just continued like they did before.
While it wasn't part of my plan, Jacob's not a part of the story, so what happens between Charlie and Sue, I have no idea tbh.
Also, there's something, for me personally, that seems just a tiny bit cruel to force a parent to witness their child stay frozen at 18 forever, or at least until they die themselves. It's not for me.
So, yeah, Charlie won't be involved beyond the point where they decide on changing Bella.
