The Bakugan Battle Brawlers in:
Ultimatum
Yukiko's white and red accented Warship was hovering above the Earth's atmosphere, but staying back far enough not to be sucked in by Earth's gravitational pull. Though for anyone who looked into the sky, they could easily see her warship.
The very fox in question was in her room, standing by her screen she was going over information that was already cataloged about Earth. She was astounded by the information that The Royal Guard Fabregan spies had come across.
She tiredly sat in her seat going over the information while Rena was on a separate screen. "Jeez! Earth couldn't be more divided if they tried. About two hundred countries and regions aren't surprising. But over seven-thousand languages!? Not to mention multiple currencies and economies, do these humans hate each other or something?" Rena hummed to herself after Yukiko's words. "So, getting my message to Earth is going to be extremely difficult with the language barrier alone."
"And each of those countries has their leader or... 'president', 'prime minister' or whatever," Rena stated using air quotes. There was another holographic view of Earth's world map. "One wonders what the point is in trying to communicate with them. Sure, we can use our universal translators, but you can bet that most of those world leaders have their agenda, as opposed to having the best interests of Earth at heart."
Yukiko stood up from her chair. "That doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Once my message gets out there, then it will be up to them to decide."
Rena closed her eyes while placing her arms behind her back. "And should they refuse… we can use those."
Yukiko turned and glared right at the planet below her. "We've had to take Gundalia and Neathia by force, and if humanity makes the same decision, we'll take them by force too. Once that is done, we will finally unite under one banner. Then maybe, we'll be one step further to having a real united universe."
One of their Fabregan technicians had approached the seat on the bridge. "Yukiko!" she raised her hand in front of the monitor that Rena was displayed on.
"Please, speak."
The man held a tablet up. "Yes well, we had completed the insertion of our spike trojans into Earth's satellites. At your command, we shall have instant control of them. We are still transcribing your prepared speech into the thousands of languages to be heard all over Earth, and we are matching the languages with the regions to where your message will be played."
Yukiko smiled. "You must be extremely exhausted, from researching the Earth for the last few months."
The man shook his head. "When I heard the King was usurped, I was shocked, even scared. But I am glad my team was allowed to continue, and hope that it will be put to good use."
"Trust me… your research is incredibly valuable. Now, I'd hate to ask this of you, but-"
He saluted. "I am happy to be of service, ma'am. And I will get my team to finish up preparations." She nodded and dismissed him, he bowed slightly before quickly turning to leave.
Yukiko let out a satisfied sigh of relief. "With the way things are going, we'll have things going our way, no matter what Earth decides." after a slight pause she continued. "Now, I have a speech to make..."
"Then I wish you good luck, High Leader," Rena said, giving Yukiko a genuine smile.
"Also, how are things on Fabrega?"
"Well, luckily Andreas' plan worked. So now, all our cities are floating up in orbit above Fabrega. All of our Royal Guard have made it. Though unfortunately, not everyone or all the Bakugan could be saved."
"What were our losses?" Yukiko asked.
"Unfortunately, despite Andreas' best efforts, we've lost close to twenty percent of our total population."
Yukiko's left fist clenched. "All the more important that we find a new home. As for now, move some of our cities to our Gundalian and Neathian-controlled territories. And move some of them to the Earth's Moon, it's not like the humans are using it." Rena nodded. "Also." she smiled as she looked at Rena's screen. "I'd like to personally thank Andreas... but since I can't, I'd like you to reward Andreas for his efforts. In an ideal world, he'd be the High Adviser, I can only hope he accepts it."
Rena smiled. "I'm sure I can convince him. And as we move the cities to their respective locations, I'll be sure to calm the survivors of our combined species."
"And I'll go ahead in finding us a new home. Stay safe, my queen." the screen turned off. She looked at the blue planet in front of her. "Ok Yukiko, you're not like Mother, you can do this!"
Outside of Fabrega's atmosphere, many of the cities in their domed form were all over the planet's dying sphere. There were small passenger shuttles that were moving people between the cities. Within Valarie's office, Andreas had moved his operations there and he could see the locations of all the floating cities. Both he and Dwayne were on different consoles keeping track of the shuttles and going to and from the cities.
Andreas had fallen back into his seat. "Ugh, this is just troublesome... but at least the hardest part is over." He could hear beeping coming from his earpiece. "Yes." he tiredly answered.
"Andreas… we have a problem… the King has arrived. And he wants to come up to see you."
He groaned while facepalming, he reached for his Haos gauntlet before equipping it, making many in his group tense slightly while Rogue prepared himself for a confrontation. "Now I'm regretting letting him go free." He then spoke into his earpiece. "Alright let him up."
Rogue excitedly threw his palm into his hand. "Haha, let him come, if he tries anything, I'll rip his arms off his sockets!"
Vesta shivered. "Y-you seem weirdly excited about that…"
Andreas stood up as they heard footsteps approaching the steps. The door opened and the King, still in his torn garbs with Maximus following had entered. Lola, Tammy, and Isolde froze while Andreas eyed the man who looked down at him.
Oeruaqx then gave an insulting chuckle. "I'd like to say I'm proud of the person who led our people out of extinction. However, considering you've been nothing but a disappointment up till this point. I'd say you're finally proving your worth."
Andreas closed his fatigued eyes and rubbed his face. "I'm so tired…" he muttered before quickly following up. "What do you want?"
"Straight to the point huh? That's easy. Now that I have returned, I am going to lead a hunt to take down that parasitic fox!"
"You've trod that path before, and you didn't even beat her on 'even' strength, and I can only assume she has grown stronger since, while you and your delegates were licking your wounds in imprisonment. If you want to lead a crusade against Yukiko, fine. But there is no we. You're keeping the people of Fabrega out of this! You want to do this, you're on your own!"
The King grew enraged. "You little brat!" Andreas was lifted by his collar. "Who do you think you are!? Without me you're NOTHING! I can put you down right now if I wanted to! You think you can talk to me like that!?"
"P-put him down!" they both heard. Both of them turned to the window to see Tammy shivering with her feline claws extended, her tail and fur were frizzing as well. "I-I won't let you hurt him!"
The king noticed Andreas glaring at him and clenching his teeth, his calm, almost bored demeanor had disappeared and was replaced with a nervous, angry expression. "Hmm, an animal is talking to me like that?! I am sick and tired of this blatant disrespect!" he threw Andreas to the ground, and his body slid onto a bookcase. The former king slowly approached Tammy who was nervously sweating. "Maximus, watch Andreas, I will deal with the pest." Tammy whimpered in response.
"Hey, pal." Rogue stepped in front of Tammy. "You think you can throw around our leader like that?" Rogue balled his fists.
"He isn't your leader. I am! And if you think that little piss-ant can take my throne from me? You've got another thing…"
"AHHH!"
They all heard a beam saber activating, and there was a pained grunt from Maximus. The king looked back at Maximus who was on the ground with a cut on his arm. Andreas, with his Haos gauntlet saber activated, shot a furious glare at the king.
"I'll only warn you once, you lay a fingertip on her, and I'll make sure to separate that hand from the rest of your body!" The King grunted and Rogue folded his arms while giving the king a smirk.
"Your call, old man!"
"Andreas…" Tammy muttered when she saw Andreas making his threat.
"My lord…" Maximus muttered.
The tension was suddenly interrupted by an audio-only transmission that was being broadcast. "Good day, everyone!"
"Wait… that's My Queen?" Oeruaqx questioned with a gasp.
"This is your Queen Rena here. I know that all of you are very, very scared, anxious, and confused right now. But I urge all of you to please calm down. Andreas did an amazing job getting us to this point. So now we are going to work together to figure out the best solution for our combined species. As of right now, I shall be taking charge of relocation. We will be going through the process of moving our cities to our new locations on Earth, Gundalia, and Neathia. There will be a slight delay in moving to Earth but we will let you know what will happen when the situation develops." Andreas clenched his fist.
"Slight delay… Yeah right!"
Rena continued. "And it is with great pleasure that I'd like to announce Andreas Kishu Floure as our new High Adviser to our High Leader Yukiko!"
"An Adviser! HIM!?" the King angrily exclaimed while Andreas looked stunned.
"Andreas, if you would please make your way to my warship as soon as you possibly can. We'd like to make your appointment official, then we can finally agree on a solution to move our people forward. That is all. As for everyone, else. Keep the faith, we may have lost our home, but we haven't lost out spirit! And we will survive. This much I promise you." The transmission ended.
While there was a brief silence, Andreas deactivated his gauntlet saber and turned to the door. "Rogue, do whatever you want with the trash. I need to take a walk!" Andreas then walked out the door, then Rogue smirked while stretching his arms as he glared at the former King and Maximus.
Tammy watched him leave and ran after him. "Andreas! Wait up!"
…
Andreas made his way outside of the building and leaned against a wall, letting out a sigh and a groan as he sat on the ground and his head fell into his arms that were hugging his legs.
"Andreas?" Tammy saw him and grew very concerned. "Um… are you ok?"
He eyed her and he could see that he was developing some dark hazes under his eyes. "I'm just tired, Tammy… I thought I could do this, but now everyone is relying on me, the old guard of Fabrega wants me dead, and I don't trust Yukiko… but I can't lead everyone! I came up with this plan because it was the only option we had to escape Fabrega. Now I have to deal with the old King and figure out what to do about Yukiko. Then, there's this painfully obvious trap by Queen Rena." he groaned in frustration. He wasn't so surprised to see Tammy's hand reaching down to him. "What?"
"You're scared, aren't you?" Andreas with an annoyed click of his tongue turned away from her. "It's okay to admit it," she said bending her knees so she could be at Andreas' level. "We all are. We're floating in space with nowhere to go and no plan. But… look around you." she pulled Andreas back up to his feet and she motioned to all the people walking around as well as many of the wounded being tended to by remnants of the Royal Guard. "This city, all the cities on Fabrega, and the people of our home. They are still alive! And it's all thanks to you!" she brushed off the dust that was building on his clothing. "We've gone through a lot, we still are, we don't know what is going to happen next. So, it's natural to be scared!"
Andreas though wasn't swayed. "You still don't get it! Everyone is relying on me to fix everything! And I just can't, I can't be a leader like Oeruaqx or Yukiko. I'm winging this as I go along… I'm winging the survival of our race! What kind of leader does that!?"
*SLAP*
Andreas had his hand covering his left cheek after a clawed slap left him speechless. "JUST STOP IT WOULD YA!" he was about to retort but she held her finger in front of him. "Why do you always have to bring yourself down like this!? Even when you saved our lives, you still don't take full credit for it! Do you really believe you're that awful of a person that you don't deserve anything positive that happens to you!? And any good that you do is just something that anyone would have done!?" As he listened to her words, he could feel something, so much so that some droplets of tears were starting to develop in his eyelids. "Not everyone can do what you just did, Andreas. Look at how many people you've saved. This isn't a fluke or freak accident. Yes, you had help, but in the end. It was your plan and yours alone that got us here. Can't you just take pride in that and be proud of yourself for once? Give yourself a break and take the damn compliments already!" Tammy slightly huffed to herself after her rant and Andreas stood there in stunned silence, not sure about what to even think anymore. "If you truly were as despicable as you think you are… Then I wouldn't have stuck around with you. You find a way to turn everything into a negative, and I won't stand for it anymore! You're. A. Great Person! Anyone who thinks differently will get a slap from me. Cause I won't let anyone talk that way about the person who saved us all, the person… I... care about…"
Andreas approached her slowly before pulling her into a sudden hug, completely catching the cat Alursian off guard. "A-Andreas…"
"I know I'm confusing you but just… please, let me have this…"
A blush was seen on Tammy's cheeks before she smiled and returned the gesture in earnest. "Of course. Take as long as you like."
…
Elsewhere, there were huge crowds of people at one of the parks located in Unison City, and Zavanna had just gotten off of a shuttle. She eyed Draconoid who was surprisingly quiet. "Is everything ok, Draconoid?"
"No… Both worlds that I used to reside in are now destroyed… All because of me."
"Don't say that. You've tried to keep Fabrega alive for so long!"
"At the cost of many people… including your mother…" she turned away. "I can't even begin to make up for it." there was silence as a shuttle had just launched. "But that doesn't mean I'll sit back and do nothing! I'll do everything in my limited power to help all of you!"
"Zavanna!" she turned and saw Cameron with Cera in tow. Right after she had seen him, she ran right at him and embraced him.
"Oof!" the sudden impact nearly threw Cameron off his feet. "Hey, Zavanna…"
She held his face and there was a torrent of sadness that was close to bursting out from her. "Cameron… Fabrega is dead…" she said, still unable to believe what had happened before her very eyes. "I...I can't believe that..."
Cameron gently patted her head. "I know… I, unfortunately, saw for myself. I saw a lot of things I wish I hadn't. But we're here and that's all that matters."
"Aside from that! You should have seen how awesome and heroic he was." Blazeon said with a chuckle. "Haha, proud of you, champ!"
"I agree," Cera added. "I'll be honest, I didn't expect something like that from you."
Cameron became bashful and turned away from everyone. "I just did what I thought was best at the moment."
"What exactly happened?" Zavanna asked.
Blazeon cleared his throat. "He saw an entire building on fire, and his first instinct was to get into his Reversion Form and saved a bunch of people and kids right before the building collapsed. And he held back some Rogue Bakugan and saved some guy who would have been mince meat."
"C-c'mon Blazeon, you've over-exaggerating a little."
"And you're just being modest." Cera countered.
Hearing Cameron's actions brought a smile to Zavanna's face, she hooked Cameron's right arm and kissed him on the cheek, bringing a blush to his face. "You're amazing Cameron!"
"Oh… here we go again…" Blazeon groaned.
"As sweet as this is," Cera started. "We still need to find the others, and we should probably find Andreas before he walks into a trap set by the Queen. That announcement she made is concerning."
"THAT'S HER!" the three heard.
The three quickly turned to see some delegates from the Jaya tribe with them being followed by Shinn and Sapphire, where Sapphire had them pointed out.
"Zavanna…" Shinn muttered, nearly tearing up as he saw his daughter.
"Father!" Zavanna exclaimed, unhooking her arm from Cameron, and approached to greet her family. "Greeting fath-" she was scooped up in a tight hug.
"Jaya is great for protecting you! It has been too long!"
"It's great seeing you too, father!" she said hugging him back while being lifted off her feet. After a few moments, she was put back down, Sapphire was more reserved in her reunion with her sister.
"I hope you have been keeping yourself safe, sister."
Zavanna bowed. "Yes, I have, and my friends have been a big help." she gestured toward them. "This is Cera and Cameron, they helped in the evacuation."
"I fear without our Reversion Forms, we might not have been able to rescue as many people as we did," Cera admitted.
"Reversion… you two?" he asked sounding surprised. "But you're human." he then eyed Cameron. "Human capable of Reversion." He eyed Cameron. "What is your name?" he asked, taking an intimidating stance.
"Um… It's Cameron… sir."
"'Cameron' huh... And what is your relationship with my daughter?"
Zavanna was quick to rush to Cameron's side. "Father, stop it!"
"From what I've heard, you have chosen to cut off your engagement with Andreas, and instead pursue a relationship with this human. Is this true?"
"I…" Zavanna was caught off guard, but she knew that lying to her father would only invite more problems. So, she gulped and hooked Cameron's arm again. "That is true, I have decided to pursue a relationship with Cameron. Andreas treated me poorly like I belonged to him. So, I left him, and along the way… I ran into Cameron and his friends who were very kind to me."
As Zavanna feared, her father didn't take too kindly to her plight. "So, you decide to forsake your own kind, go against your family, your tribe, just to be with some HUMAN?!" he backlashed, making both Cameron and Zavanna flinch. "I cannot believe this. My own daughter, choosing inferior vermin over us?!"
Zavanna held her hands forward defensively while hastily trying to calm her father's rage. "No, that's not what I am saying at all!"
"Tch!" Sapphire stood next to her father. "I get Andreas is a scumbag, but to then go for – this! What can this human do for you, sister? What could you possibly see in him!?"
"Hey!" Cameron countered as he stepped next to Zavanna. "Will you two just listen to her for a minute?"
Sapphire immediately cut him off. "It's bad enough we lost our world, thousands of years of culture… but to have my little sister have a taste in humans, especially something like YOU? I'm disgusted!" Sapphire readied her bow and arrow, and the arrow was pointed right at Cameron's head, making him flinch.
"Don't you think this is an overreaction!?" Cera exclaimed.
"Y-yeah!" Cameron agreed. "This is going too far."
"Quiet! Both of you! This doesn't concern you, little girl!" Shinn roared before turning his glare at Cameron. "And as for you! What can you possibly do to have earned my dear, sweet daughter? Absolutely nothing! Look at you! You look like you can hardly lift a stick!" he berated, though his rage was starting to give way to what sounded like anger, sadness, and hurt. "We've lost so much… I can't… I won't lose my daughter to you… you're an even bigger disgrace than what Andreas had become!"
*SMACK*
Despite them being outside, the smacking sound could be heard from a distance which caused onlookers to see what nobody ever would have expected. The sight of Shinn, the Chief of the Jaya tribe, being slapped in the face by his youngest daughter. This came as such a shock, especially to Shinn who had flinched from the impact. Though the pain of the slap was nothing compared to the fact that it was caused by Zavanna herself.
Sapphire had her hands over her mouth while letting out a shocked gasp. "Z-Zavanna…!"
"Holy crap…" Blazeon muttered softly.
Shinn felt the sting in the sudden slap across his face. He slowly felt his cheek as he looked at his daughter and he was met with an incredulous glare.
"Don't. Ever…" Zavanna lowly scolded.
"Zavanna…" Cameron muttered as he quickly stepped to her side, hoping to calm her down.
"I don't care what you have to say to me, but what you cannot tell me, is how to be happy! Cameron has been nothing but a good person! He's open, and he's more courageous than you can ever hope to imagine!" Her fists balled tightly and the tears were unable to hold themselves back anymore. "He taught me what it means to really care for someone; that even I can make my own choices. And you know what? I chose him of my own free will!"
Shinn was utterly speechless. He was downright horrified if not perplexed at this side of Zavanna that he's never seen before. Sapphire was no different as her words struck them both like lightning.
"If you want to take Cameron away from me…" she reached over, grabbing Cameron's hand, making sure to link her fingers with his, Cameron instantly squeezed back. "Then you'll have to take me by force! I want to spend my life living by his side, and I don't care where in Jaya it is, as long as he's there with me! So, if you disapprove of him…" As the tears fell, she choked on her words as she dreaded what she was about to say. "Then may Jaya be merciful towards you."
Most of the park went quiet as they listened to Zavanna vent. Even by Cameron's standards, this was something that both surprised and scared him some. But in a way, she looked relieved to have gotten those words off her chest, even if it was against her own family.
He was brought back to her senses when he thought about his own mother. 'Mom… I wonder what she'd say?'
Sapphire took a feared step back, stunned by the honest, and painful truth that her sister had struck with them with. "S-sister… dear Jaya…"
"Don't…" Zavanna softly snapped, collecting herself from crying. "Please… don't make myself repeat myself, Sapphire. I love him, so you and father can never say such things ever again."
"Love?" Shinn muttered. "Zavanna…?" Shinn tried to stay something, but he was barely grasping the reality of it all. For one thing, Zavanna – his own daughter – had just outright slapped him across the face out of sheer defiance. To see her look so disheartened against them was something that hurt him more than whatever stabbing and gash wounds he had endured. It was something else entirely that completely fractured him to the core. He hadn't felt this broken since he had lost his wife.
And that wasn't the end of it. Just seeing her at that moment was enough to see the stalwart path she chose. As a father, it was marvelous to see her grow from the timid, scared, and often, sad girl he had gotten used to after losing his wife. However, as a Fabregan, whatever sense of pride he had in his people and his culture was snuffed out. It was as if the slap alone hollowed out his insides.
But what would happen next would be like salt in the wound.
"Zavanna… you should tell them." Scorchiree insisted.
Zavanna took another deep breath before she opened her mouth to speak again. "...I saw Mother." Sapphire and Shinn felt their hearts stop when she said that. "She was watching over us this whole time. She said that she loved us, and what she did was for our future…" she sniffled thinking back to the final moments of when she saw her mother in the Quantiverse. "And I was about to take her place… but Cameron and all my friends… they wouldn't let me go. I was given a second chance because of them… I want to cherish them for as long as I am able to live now."
On Cameron's shoulder, Draconoid revealed herself. She remained silent as Sapphire and Shinn saw the white Bakugan for the first time, much to their disbelief.
"A white Bakugan…?" Shinn muttered.
The myths are actually true…?" Sapphire breathed. "That's impossible… but if this is true… then what you said just now about Mother…"
Shinn was visibly shaking. He was taking in everything all at once. It was bad enough that Zavanna was almost sacrificed, but to see the creature that took away his wife was something that he was unable to stomach. He looked like he had seen a ghost."
Draconoid had rose her head. "You are her family, yes? I offer you my greatest condolences… and gratitude, for Venus."
"The legendary Draconoid…!" Sapphire's tears started swelling. "Then you… With Mother… and my sister…"
Shinn angrily turned in Cameron's direction, making him stiffen his own spine. Though his attention was fixated on Draconoid as she sat on his shoulder.
"You… you did all this…" He scoffed lowly as he pointed an accusatory finger at her. "You took everything from us. Just how many? How many of us did it take to satisfy you!?"
Draconoid said nothing. If she were able to show an expression, it would be morbid.
"How many families have you robbed of their loved ones, all for the sake of what is now gone? WELL?! You took away my wife! My love! And you tried to take away my own daughter!" Tears started flowing heavily from his face. He looked more broken than ever, and this only added to the mountain of guilt Draconoid has on her shoulders.
She could only shamefully say: "I'm sorry… I truly am."
"You can apologize all you want… in fact, that's all you CAN do." he sniffled. His tone remained stern. "Because no matter how much I pray to Jaya, she's never coming back… and you're the one who caused this. Why? Why did it have to be US?! Why did it have to be ME?! My family, to suffer because of your selfishness?! You stole the lives of so many… and all you can say is 'sorry' … I just can't think of anything worse than you."
Unable to hold it in anymore, he sank to his knees, covering his face with his hands as he sobbed loudly. "You did this… you did this… I'll never forgive you… never…"
"F-father…" Sapphire muttered; this was like a cut to her heart too. Seeing her father fall apart again crushed her. She dropped to a knee and put a hand on his shoulder to mourn with him, trying her best not to shed a tear.
Zavanna was tearing up badly as well. She couldn't help it any longer. Seeing her family cry over everything just broke her heart… but this was something that had to be done. She turned towards Cameron and buried her face into the crook of his neck as she loudly sobbed.
Cameron and Cera stood silently, watching the Silva family's grief and pride crumble away. He eyed Cera who slowly shook her head in response. He wanted to say something to try and condone them, to offer something, anything to offer some leniency to the pain they felt… But what could he say? What should he say? If there was an answer, he surely didn't have it. The only thing he could do was embrace Zavanna and let her and her family vent their frustrations and sadness.
Blazeon sombrely watched on before he turned half his body to look at Draconoid. "You've really made a mess of things."
Draconoid's headpiece lowered. "...I know."
Elsewhere, near the Unison City port where lots of Fabregan warships and passenger shuttles were sitting, many of the Fabregan citizens were being transported between cities though the use of these.
Akane and a tired Akira stepped off one of the airships to merge into the mess of people that were surrounding the citizens that were reuniting with families while others were looking for those close to them.
Akane eyed her little sister. "How are you holding up, sis?"
"Tired… but I'll pull through, just need some more hours," she replied.
"AKIRA!" she saw Aisha gleefully waving at them with Maia in tow with a neutral expression.
Akira chuckled at her friend's cheeriness. "Nice to see you, AisHAAA!" she was lifted off her feet as Aisha hugged her.
"I'm soooo glad you're ok!" she cried while Akira's face flushed with embarrassment.
"Baka, watashi o oroshite kudasai!" she hotly exclaimed.
"W-what?" Aisha questioned, she could see Akane and Radion giggling.
"She's basically asking to be put down," Radion said while giggling. Akane couldn't wipe the smile off her face to see her tired sister rudely awakened.
"Oops… sorry!" Aisha put her friend and watched as Akira folded her arms.
"What was that about, Aisha?"
She guiltily pressed her fingers together. "Sorry… it's just that, we watched an entire planet die… and we were on there. I was so worried that maybe, some of us wouldn't make it out… and I heard that some didn't." she ended with a somber tone.
"Unfortunately… we couldn't get the entire population and Bakugan off in time," Maia said. "We did all we could."
After knowing about Aisha's concern, she then softened her stance. "Sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you." Akira apologized to which she got an unexpected response in the form of a soft punch in the shoulder and a wink in her direction.
"Aw don't worry about it, girl."
Bearth opened on Aisha's head. "But now the next question: What should we do now?"
"That's where I'm stumped too, friend." he heard. They saw Jayden alone walking through the terminal with Velocirex hovering beside him.
"Glad you're alive too," Akira said before noticing he wasn't supposed to be alone. "Where is Garfield?"
Jayden stroked his neck as he awkwardly clicked his tongue. "Well… the underwater people he had to help; we don't exactly have any water domed cities so he's taken them elsewhere."
"'Elsewhere'? Where did he go?!"
"Um… he told me he was going to take them close to the islands of Hawaii. There's more than enough water for the fish Alursians I think. But until we get back to Earth, or get Alice to work her magic, we may be separated for a while."
Akira thought about it. "Maybe, but I don't think we should make any rash moves. We still need to see keep the people here safe, plus, these cities can't stay in orbit indefinitely. And they are going to be moved soon... but mentioned to some places on Earth, which means what befell Gundalia and Neathia, they plan to strike at Earth next..."
There was a dimensional portal opening close to the orbiting Unison City, slowly moving out of the portal was the Vestal Destroyer and they would see the ship rotating in space, reverse thrusting into the port of the city.
"That's Spectra's ship? Isn't it?" Jayden asked to which Akira nodded.
Within the bridge of the Destroyer. Spectra stood eyeing the city with his hands behind his back.
"But what is he doing here, though?" Aisha pondered.
"HEEEEEEYYY!" The trio of Baron, Mason, and Kimiko were seen running toward them. They came to a stop in front of the group, and Kimiko stopped to catch her breath.
"Kimiko?"
"You guys… Keith... wants… to talk-"
Aisha went to gently pat Kimiko on the back. "Whoa there, girl. Just breathe." Kimiko then breathed and took a few moments at Aisha's request. "There. Now, what's going on?"
"Keith wants to talk to you guys... He said he has a plan. It's about Helios!"
Yukiko eyed the globe that was Earth from the visage that her spacecraft enabled her. It was sitting quite a far distance from Earth, lying outside of its orbit.
She stood patiently in the middle of a grey ring on top of a deck. She had a face that looked ever so serious.
"Ma'am, we have readied the frequency message. Ready to be sent on command." A Fabregan technician announced.
'It's finally time.' Yukiko closed her eyes, readying herself for what was to come. She raised her head high and retained a calm face.
"Very well then. Commence the procedure, now!"
"Understood! Sending transmission signal now!"
The engineers in the dock all began typing away on holographic keyboards, all of their screens having green panels with blue radar waves being sent out.
On the outside of the massive ship, a faint green outline engulfed the entire structure. A very low hum, followed by a distorted wave rippled from the ship that traveled at light speed through the stars and right at Earth.
The signal waves traversed through space and reached Earth's satellites that were in its orbit. The numerous contraptions were all ineffective at first before they all started crackling with blue static.
...
It was a particularly cloudy day in Bakugan City. Everyone continued to mind their business as all was relatively peaceful in the city. Or rather, as peaceful as it could get. The news was still going on about the sudden partial damage to the Battle Brawlers' HQ that transpired only a few weeks ago. And even then, it didn't stop as there were no sightings of Dan Kuso or the other Battle Brawlers since that incident.
Luna of Team Generation was on her phone, reading a newly printed article about the disappearance of the Battle Brawlers. She sighed as she leaned back on the park bench, gathered with what was the current Team Generation. "Still nothing."
"This isn't looking good. I can understand Hayato, but Vesta?" Kyle folded his arms, kicking up a heel. "Doesn't make any sense!" He turned towards Kaleb. "Hey, 'fearless substitute leader', got any ideas?"
Kaleb turned towards him, looking irritated. "What? Like I had any part in this! How the hell would I know where she'd prance off to!?"
Kira scratched the top of her head, grunting at the itch. "Gnnngh…I knew I should have just stayed home to work on my hair rather than just pull it out!"
"Well look, you can tend to your fancy hair care now for all I care. But at least don't go wandering off all willy-nilly without a text." Kaleb scoffed. "…as if we had enough of us missing already."
Kyle turned with a raised brow. "Since when did you start showing actual care?"
Kaleb turned back towards him, furrowing his brow. "Please, don't get a big head on me! How are we supposed to be Team Generation without a Haos battler? Hayato's awol, so we can't rely on him. At this rate, our ranking's gonna drop like deadweight."
Luna looked down at her screen, but her focus was on something else. "…you don't think, that maybe…it had to do with the Fabregans?"
Everyone in the group turned towards her, looking shocked.
"Wait, you serious?!" Kyle exasperated.
"I mean, it's possible. They DID warn us about the possibility of an invasion after all. Doesn't it seem odd that outside the Battle Brawlers disappearing that everything seems a little too…quiet?"
Kaleb scoffed, folding his arms over his chest. "Okay, you're just being paranoid. Okay, so MAYBE aliens exist like that hot blue-haired chick, but like I'll believe that aliens started abducting humans. Save that for the chaos theorists."
Kira sighed tiredly. "Well, hopefully, we hear from Vesta soon." She turned towards Luna. "Hey, Luna, what time is it?"
"Let me check…" Luna looked down at her phone, however, to her surprise, it suddenly went static. "Huh?"
"What is it?" Kyle asked.
"I don't know. Hold on…" Luna tried clicking the power button, but it didn't respond. "Did it just freeze up on me!?"
Kaleb pulled out his phone to check for himself. Like Luna, his screen was static. "What, me too?"
Kira and Kyle pulled out their phones and looked at the static on their own screens. Kira in particular gasped. "What's going on!? Are we being hacked!?"
It wasn't just them. All across the entire surface of Earth, the airwaves sending and receiving signals were being taken over. Anyone who was watching television, computer, laptop, or phone only saw static. Many other screens went black and blue and froze. The phenomenon put the whole populace of Earth at a standstill.
In such cases, those listening to radios and podcasts while in their cars or lounging got static.
…
"Server encryption complete. Initiating override." A Fabregan announced.
"Internet work recalibration in progress. Be on standby." Another announced.
Yukiko stood still as a tiny drone drifted in front of her with a camera on it. She stared readily with a forward expression.
"We're live in 3…2…1!"
...
All across Earth, calls were being blocked, and engineers were scrambling to find backup and other alternatives to the solution.
After only a minute of delay, Yukiko's face appeared on every broadcast screen and device across the world. Her face was on screens large and small that stuck to buildings, phones, and live footage feeds on sports fields.
"Wait, who the hell is that?!" Luna gasped.
"I don't know, but…damn, she looks hot." Kaleb marveled.
"Shut up, pervert! This is serious!"
Yukiko's expression was calm and neutral as she faced the camera. "To the populace of Earth, far and wide, I plead for your attention." She started.
In her home, Suzuna Fowler looked confused at her television screen. "What the-?!" She flipped through every other channel, but every time she did, the screen remained plastered with Yukiko's face on the screen with subtitles on the bottom translating what she was saying. "What the hell?!"
"I am currently broadcasting across your planet's networks with every language in your countries. I apologize for this interruption, but this was necessary for your understanding of the situation."
Inside her office, all the patients and doctors were corralled toward the lounge's television screen. Dr. Clair stared in disbelief and discomfort. "What is the meaning of this…?"
"My name is Yukiko Ravenwind. I am what's called a Fox Alursian, and the High Leader of the races of Fabrega and Alursia alike. I have come to your planet in hopes of searching for critical aid to our kind's crisis. Be assured, we come on formal grounds with no desire for conflict."
The world's citizens were very confused by the sudden broadcast, from the citizens in Japan watching the broadcast on their phones while riding the train, eyes glued to their phones. To the middle of Time Square, where Yukiko's broadcast was seen on nearly all the digital advertising boards. Those in the middle of work stopped what they were doing and listened.
"Our home planet, Fabrega, had just expired, and our citizens are currently adrift in space. And we seek help immediately." The screen changed to show the numerous cities in space, but what grabbed everyone's attention was the dying planet of Fabrega, which was barren and with many spots and rivers of magma being seen and eruptions happening all over the planet. The water that remained on the Fabregan oceans had turned toxic. "Unfortunately, this is the situation we currently face. And while I hate to ask this of you, we need your assistance. We seek refuge and hope to move some of our inhabitants to your planet. We have already taken liberties and analyzed and seen many places where our people could go without disrupting Earth's ecosystem. There are other systems we have stretched our people to as well, so we won't strain your natural resources. However, we have come up with reparations for your cooperation. If you accept our offer of hosting our races, then we shall share our vast knowledge, cultures, and strengths. The Fabregans have amazing technology that rivals the Vestals. And of course, we can share our knowledge of Bakugan. We may also improve the quality of life on Earth if we have enough cooperation over time. I understand that many of the older generations are oblivious to the concept of Bakugan correct? Well, Bakugan has enhanced the lives of so many on our former planets, and we can do the same for Earth should we be given the chance."
Many of the adults, close to their thirties and over, were confused by the contents of the message.
"What are Fabregans and Alursians?"
"Why is she dressed like a fox girl? Is this a joke!?"
"Alursians? Fabregans? Vestals?"
"The hell is that cosplayer talking about? Bakugan is a dumb kid's game! This is a stupid prank!"
Suzuna's eyes widened as she listened to everything she was saying. "Bakugan…" Her eyes widened. "Cameron…!"
Aisha's mother gaped at the screen, paling. "Impossible, my daughter was telling the truth…this, this is…"
Ms. Haruna was holding her youngest son close as she was sitting on the couch. She looked completely horrified. "Dear God…"
Garfield and Jayden's families were all confused and unsure of what was happening. The entire populace, photographers included, were taking pictures of the broadcast.
Yukiko continued. "I am not going to mince words; we are outside of the Earth's atmosphere right now waiting for your answer. However, if you refuse to negotiate with our offer, then we will resort to force!" Many collective gasps were heard from within the major cities that saw the world event. "We have already mapped locations on the Earth where we can and will strike. Bakugan are capable of otherworldly power, and if you make things difficult, then we will do what we see fit."
All previous confusion turned to fear and or anxiety. Many of the world leaders were watching this, some scoffed at her, others completely disregarded the broadcast, but most listened to her tone and were trying to anticipate what her intentions were. Though a good number of world leaders were already deploying their military to their major cities to defend it just in case.
"I trust that I have informed you of the situation. And make no mistake if we aren't taken seriously, then you will regret it!" her angered tone calmed. "However, I want to prevent such violence to spare our populace, as well as yours. And so, I hereby open the floor to conversation. I shall leave all world leaders with the ability to contact me with through a special server. You have twenty-four Earth hours to respond. Should I get no response… then I shall take the initiative and take full responsibility. We all stand to benefit from this, and I await your response." The signal had promptly ended and all the screens and hijacked signals were returned to their regular programming.
The moment that happened, the world was at pause. Team Generation stared at their phones as they went back to the way they were a moment ago.
Slowly, Kaleb turned towards the others, his face pale and pupils shrunk. "You guys…?"
Kira swallowed a lump. "I-is this for real…?"
Luna was dead silent. The anxiety she had before skyrocketed, as was the outcries that came from the city. 'Oh, crap…'
...
Meanwhile down on Earth, Garfield was on one of the beaches of the smaller Hawaiian Islands after he teleported himself and the undersea races of Fabrega to the Earth's Ocean off the coast of Hawaii. Both he and Aquafibian noticed that many of the people on the island had been silent with shock, and looks of fear. What didn't help was that they had no idea that some Alursians had to retreat to Earth already and were essentially living below their feet.
Garfield had heard the entire broadcast through a local radio station. Knowing this, it would be a major setback to what he had planned which would be hopefully the Mermaids and the Silkie settling into their new home essentially.
"Garfield!?" Aquafibian exclaimed getting his attention.
"I know... but this is very, very bad!"
...
The camera turned off, leaving a moment of pause for everyone.
"Transmission completed. Shutting off frequency." A Fabregan technician announced.
"Server online and operational. Be on standby." Another announced.
Yukiko sighed. "I did all I could, now this is in their hands…"
Kyubis opened on her shoulder, staring at the Earth. "Whatever the case may be, Yukiko, we must resolve ourselves for our survival."
She nodded. "Yes…if they are not, then we must set an example." She paused. "Let's hope they use their time wisely."
Inside Valerie's office, her assistant, Oscar had poured tea into a teacup and saucer that was in front of Spectra. He sat on a comfy chair and picked up the teacup. "Thank you."
Valerie was gazing at him. "Don't mention it. I already read you, I highly doubt you're here to betray us or do us harm." she sat back in her wheelchair. "Though it doesn't further your case since you don't have a Bakugan."
Within the office joining them was the Neo Brawlers, minus Garfield. Kimiko and Andreas had also joined them. The former King and Maximus had been kicked out and were elsewhere. "So why are you here?" Andreas asked. "I doubt you just wanted to make a grand entrance."
"I need a favor… I plan to head to Neathia so I can get Helios back! Of course, since I don't have a Bakugan, I will need some help. I don't know if I will run into Yukiko again, so I'll need some serious firepower."
Blazeon laughed. "Did someone say firepower, and not mention me!?" Blazeon asked. He eyed Spectra. "Spectra… you personally, saw what Cameron is capable of, especially when he gets his Reversion going!" Spectra thought back to seeing Cameron transform into his Reversion form for the first time, and how he and Blazeon fought off both Drago and Helios. "You make a great argument, you and Blazeon could be the firepower I need. But you would be a fool to think you can take on Yukiko by yourself. Don't forget, she was the one who took Helios from me, and put Gus on a stretcher! I am not about to blow this opportunity."
"We're already down 'cause Garfield is on Earth," Cera mentioned. "We should play this smart, so I should-"
"WAAAAIT!" They all saw Jax running into the room and was out of breath, Marvellion was floating at his side.
Cera placed her hands on her hips. "Excuse me, we're having a meeting here!"
Andreas shrugged his shoulders. "Don't be too hard on him, I heard he did quite well against Heros of all people." he turned to Jax. "You have the floor, what's up?"
Jax took a moment to catch his breath. "Breath, Jax," Marvellion said. "Tell them what you told me."
"I-I want to help too!" he yelled, his outburst flinging sweat off him.
Spectra stood up. "Kid, while I understand your enthusiasm, this is not a game. I am planning to get my partner back who was taken by Yukiko, and she is an extremely powerful enemy. So, tell me… what do you think you can do?"
"I-I fought off H-Heros… e-even though I had help."
Marvellion hovered in front of Jax. "Don't underestimate him, he's pretty strong in his own right, I can vouch for him!"
Valerie cleared her throat. "Luckily for you two, I have thought of a contingency plan should we find it necessary to go back to Neathia. I and the Valkyrie are technically part of the Royal Guard… what they don't know however is that we are no longer on their side."
"What are you suggesting?" Andreas asked.
She eyed Spectra. "You three go to Neathia on a Valkyrie warship, disguised as Valkyrie guards. Well actually, only Cameron and Jax will have to be disguised. Spectra can be brought in as a prisoner, capturing someone that powerful will give you greater access to their base. Then once you find out where Helios is, swipe him back, then leave as quickly as you can. We don't need to start fights, especially if any of the remaining High Council are there."
Spectra thought about it. "This plan might work, considering I myself am pretty outgunned by everyone… but what if we are caught?"
"That's easy. Cameron and Jax will raise all sorts of trouble and have your back so you can find and recover Helios. This plan makes it so not all of our Reversion battlers are in one operation, leaving us defenseless in case something happens. But should worst come to worst, I'll have my Valkyrie back you up."
Andreas though didn't look so confident about the plan. "Yes, but - and I can't believe you missed this - but the Valkyrie segment of the Royal Guard is comprised of girls… and last time I checked, both Cameron and Jax are packing an extra chromosome that would be a dead giveaway."
"Great point, Andreas. And yes, I've thought of that, which means… Cameron, Jax… you may have to take one for the team."
Jayden held back a laugh when he knew where this was heading. Cameron caught on and he instantly shook his head. "Oh no! No way! I'm not going to dress like a girl! Why can't one of the others go."
"We could…" Cera started. "But they know what we look like, and it's not like the Valkyrie's uniforms have helmets that hide our faces. So, a pair of new identities might be what we need."
Cameron turned to Zavanna, hoping for backup. "Sorry… they would know my face too."
"Do we have another plan?"
"Other than a full assault… but that probably wouldn't work," Valerie said.
Cameron hung his head. "Crap…" Zavanna patted his back to cheer him up.
Andreas then turned. "Well, now that we've got that done. I've got to see the queen and walk into her obvious trap."
"Hold on, Andreas. I've got a plan for you too. So, stick around, will you?"
Jayden smugly appeared by Cameron and Jax. "Sooooo, I'm thinking, Carmen and Jasmine?"
Both Cameron and Jax had leered at him.
"Oh, come on, it's can't be that bad right?" Marvellion questioned.
Valerie smiled, "Actually, those are good codenames. And don't worry about your cover story, I'll make that up for you guys."
Spectra stood up. "After we are successful, I will be in debt to all of you. And trust me, I will make sure to make it up to you." He eyed Valerie. "When do we start the plan?"
"In a moment... but, we should first think about what we should do about Andreas' meeting. And I've already got a plan we can use." her confident smirk didn't spark confidence in Andreas, however.
"If this plan involves me dressing as a girl, I swear..."
"Nope... you're going to take their invitation!"
"Sorry what?"
A shuttle transport was heading to Queen Rena's and inside it was one of Valerie's Valkyrie, and once the ship docked, Andreas who was sitting as a passenger took a deep breath and stepped out. "Let Valerie know I'm here." he stepped out into their hangar as the ship left.
In the distance, he could see Queen Rena looking down at him from a platform that overlooked the hangar. Andreas could only be suspicious of the smile she gave him.
...
They were both floating through a white hallway, making sure to slide their hands on the metal railing so they aren't overwhelmed by the zero-gravity environment.
"I am so glad you've accepted our meeting. We must come up with a way to move forward from losing our home. I should also commend you for your brilliant efforts in evacuating all of our people from our dying planet."
"I couldn't get everyone off, not to mention some non-rogue Bakugan were also lost."
"Casualties are near impossible in situations like this. Regardless, I believe you should be commended for your efforts."
As they continued through the ship, they arrived at a throne room where the entire room was painted gold. And it shared the appearance of the throne room in Valhalla City. She took a seat on one of the two thrones where the other was meant for Yukiko.
"So now that we're here, I'd like to-"
"Sorry to interrupt you." Andreas started as he held his hand up. "But if you're going to offer me a place in the Royal Guard or even the High Council, you can forget it! Those prospects don't interest me in the slightest."
Rena giggled. "Your skills would be very useful in those positions, but I had something else in mind. I did mean it when I wanted you to be our High Adviser, with your leadership, and support of the people. We can bring a prosperous future that our people deserve."
Andreas didn't think long about his answer. "Thanks, but no thanks."
Rena grew slightly agitated at Andreas' quick defiance. "You don't understand, this is all to bringing together our people and uniting for the sake of our survival. Why can't you understand that? Despite our differences, we have to put them aside and work together."
"You can forget it, I'll bring the Fabregans and Alursians together, but it will be on my terms! If you care about why? It is because I don't trust Yukiko, not because she's an Alursian, but because of her ruthless attitude toward people she sees as irredeemable, plus she has a smugness that rubs me the wrong way. And all this happens, while she is the daughter of Ran-Seki, the person that tried to invade Fabrega way back when."
"I assure you; Yukiko is vastly different from her mother!"
"Yeah, 'cause I'm sure that's exactly what the Fabregans that were imprisoned think as well." Rena folded her arms. "Look I don't care how 'different' she is or whatever, but the fact remains is I can't trust her."
Rena let out a sigh. "I am at my wit's end, Andreas. Name your price, whatever you want. I will personally be responsible for retrieving it!"
Andreas shook his head. "You still don't get it. I'm not doing this for me! I've had a huge responsibility thrown onto my shoulders... And if I didn't step in to get everyone off Fabrega, who would?" he pointed up at the throne. "While Yukiko might be a decent leader on the surface, there is something about her imprisoning people like that, that throws warnings my way."
Rena only gave a slight leer at Andreas. "So... that is your final decision?"
Andreas turned. "This was an absolute waste of my time, I am leaving!" the guards behind him, shut the royal doors. Immediately, Andreas activated his gauntlet saber and stood so he could both face Queen Rena as well as watch the guards that closed the door.
"How predictable... a trap!"
"Sorry, Andreas. I truly am. But if you intend to lead the people of Fabrega, unfortunately, you'll have to fall in line, or we need to turn to the alternative..." Andreas instantly knew what she was proposing, and this made him flash back to Zavanna and how she had stood up to him.
"Reconditioning." Rena went silent, Andreas was closing the gap between them as he slowly approached. "I don't plan on going down without a fight, so if I have to fight you or your boss. So be it."
Queen Rena giggled. "You are cute, Andreas. When you command the highest military within our people... you learn that we have people to fight for us."
Immediately, Andreas' instincts flared up, and he brought his gauntlet blade close to himself and he blocked the force of a trident that was thrown at him. Unfortunately, the force of the impact sent him onto his back. He quickly rolled back to his feet. He saw the trident fly back to Darius who was in his Reversion form.
"Ay, Andreas. Thanks for getting everyone off, Fabrega, was a really close call there... but orders are orders." Darius playfully said.
"So, you're going to take orders from the fox?"
"Hot fox! There's a difference... now you can make this easy on yourself, or we can duke it out and do this the hard way."
Andreas remained silent; he remained in his defensive stance. "If Darius is in his Reversion Form, then Spinark must be somewhere on the ship in his real form." Andreas sped to the shut doors and he slashed through the two guards, flooring them before kicking the door open.
Darius smirked and twirled his trident behind him. "Don't worry, ma'am... I'll find him, and keep him alive."
"Please, despite his head-strong attitude. He's very important to the Fabregan people."
"Will do ma'am!" he shot off as his body turned to water, and gave chase.
...
Valerie's warship has emerged from a dimensional portal and over-looked the planet of Neathia, Spectra looked to be alone on the bridge as he eyed the planet. "Don't worry Helios, I'm getting you back!"
Elsewhere on the ship, Cameron eyed his reflection, he had longer hair – down to his lower back with longer lashes so he could look like a girl. "Looking good, Carmen!" Blazeon chuckled.
"Shut up..."
"Regardless of what you think, you are going to have to get used to it," Cera said as was holding perfume and she gave very light sprays onto his neck. "Unfortunately, I don't have the time to teach you poise, but appearances should be enough."
He was also wearing a full-body suit with additional padding and they were white with pink accents.
He felt the wig on his head. "Please tell me you're not going to put on make-up."
She shook her head. "We're trying to make you look feminine, not enter a beauty competition. As long as you keep up appearances and keep and light voice, you should be fine. Now come on." She noticed he still had a downcast expression. "Still thinking about Zavanna's family?"
"Yeah... it's just seeing all that- is it ok for me to be in Zavanna's life right now? Especially since her family doesn't like me. And they are still trying to process everything with Draconoid."
"Getting cold feet?"
"N-no nothing like that, but I just wish I could somehow prove that I'm everything Zavanna said I am."
"Worry about that another time," Cera advised.
"What?"
"Focus on what is in front of you. There is still the matter of what happens with the relationship you have. But right now, that isn't what your mind should be on. You'll fix it later!" Cameron gave an understanding nod in response as he stood up with her.
Outside in the hallway so see that Jax was in the hall with Leiya and she was seen brushing the wig on his head to look presentable. His blonde wig was shorter but had front bangs that hung down to his chin.
"Right... so, how are you feeling?" Leiya asked as Jax looked around.
"Uh, a little better if I wasn't dressed like this. But as long as I can be useful, I'll do my best."
Leiya shook her head. "You're already useful."
Marvellion hovered at his side. "Yeah. You helped Alice send that Heros guy packing!"
"Ha, I guess you're right. Let's just hope this plan doesn't backfire on us."
"And if it does! You've got me to back you up! So don't even worry!"
"I wonder how this is even going to go. And what if Spectra finds himself in a situation where he has to battle."
"That's why you two are there. So, he doesn't find himself in that situation." Leiya stated.
Jax then smiled confidently. "Then I'll do my best!"
...
After a few more minutes, the five of them were gathered on the bridge, Leiya and Cera were to stay aboard the ship. "Cameron." Cera stopped him and handed him a card.
"Huh? Warp Gate?"
"This ship will be leaving orbit, immediately after dropping you guys to avoid suspicion. The second you have Helios; you all have to get out of there."
Spectra nodded. "A fair plan, rather leave while we can. We wouldn't want to put Ms. Valarie in a tough spot." he eyed Cameron and Garfield. "Your lenses, Cameron."
Cameron sighed. "I remembered how I hated these..." he stuck the contact lenses on his eyes giving him the appearance of being a Fabregan with his purple eye-rings.
The ship docked on the Fabregan-built spaceport that was under construction, close to the palace. The side doors opened and out came Spectra who was in laser cuffs, as the mechanical stairs of the ship had extended to give him, Cameron, and Jax a path to the ground.
As they started to leave, they could see Fabregan guards with spears, and they were led by Aurea who had her arms folded as they got to the ground. "Valkyrie?" Aurea muttered to herself, and the minute Cameron recognized her, he grew incredibly nervous.
Once they got to the ground, they walked Spectra over, but Aurea raised her hand, ordering them to stop. "I was under the impression that Valerie would come personally to deliver Spectra Phantom."
"Umm..." he quickly cleared his throat and forced a higher pitch tone in his voice. "O-oh well you know how Val is, ehehe!"
Jax cleared his throat and raised the pitch of his voice, strangely enough, it was more believable than Cameron's. "Yeah, she told us she couldn't make it, you know how busy she is."
"Quite." Aurea began to pace. "However, Spectra Phantom is a high-profile criminal. While Yukiko did the hard work in collecting his Bakugan, I must commend Valerie and her unit for capturing him."
Spectra huffed. "Oh, don't get excited, I won't be here for long. And believe me. That Fox is going to get what coming to her. Both for taking Helios and for what she did to Gus!" he said in an angered yet calm tone.
"Tch!" Aurea clicked her tongue. "Before you escort this criminal to his cell, I require identification."
"O-oh... here! Hihi!" Cameron let out another nervous fake giggle as he handed the identification card that Valerie had forged for both him and Jax. Jax handed over his with no exchange of words.
"Identification: V-091: Carmen Shi Palmer and Identification: V-117: Jasmine Tita Oberon." she scanned her ID cards with her gauntlet there was an audible *PING* that came from her gauntlet.
'Positive identity match – No proof of forgery.'
"So, your IDs check out. Welcome to the Neathia. Please take this Vestal to the cell immediately, Yukiko has already made her speech to Earth, so we need to hear their response."
Cameron stopped walking when Aurea mentioned that, when he stopped, he was tugging on Spectra's left, cuffed arm as he turned back. "Um... I kinda missed it... what exactly did she say?"
"Hmph, a true soldier always stays informed about current events of their camp. Or is Valerie smothering you over there?" she gave him a critical glare before sighing. "To sum it up for you, High Leader Yukiko has made a speech declaring her intention to move a portion of our population to Earth. In exchange, we share all the resources we have, and we contribute to the Earth's well-being. All they need to do is accept."
"A-and if they don't accept?"
"Do I really need to spell it out for you? Just imagine what we've done to Neathia and Gundalia, but on a grander scale. That will be the result. To be honest, the way Earth governs its citizens is way too chaotic if you ask me. A single ruler with authority over all the regions seems more efficient than having each of them govern themselves, leading to differences, and war with each other. Our proposal keeps people in line and ensures order with one set of rules and laws everyone could understand. A fair statement, wouldn't you agree, Carmen?"
"Um... I guess... but everyone has a different way of doing things. Wouldn't a world like that be scary if you have one person to boss everyone around?"
"You must either be naive or stupid, because that has been the world you've been living in your entire life, no? Or do you often confuse fantasy with reality?" Cameron could immediately feel Spectra tugging slightly while Jax was shaking his head.
"Ahahaha. You're right, I'm just a wild daydreamer! I'm gonna go, got a prisoner to take care of."
"Quite..." Aurea replied while she faced away from them.
Cameron and Jax rushed into the Neathian palace while dragging Spectra with them. "So, so, so sorrrry..." he whispered, still in his fake girl voice.
Within Queen Rena's Warship, Andreas was sprinting through the halls, ducking and dodging the guards that were trying to apprehend him. Anyone that came near him, was shoved or slashed out of the way. Once he got to the hangar entrance, he saw it was shut behind blast doors.
"Crap!" He saw an open doorway, he jogged in that direction and once he got through it, a pair of blast doors closed behind him. The room was dark before it lit up, revealing a tremendous arena used for test battling. As the lights lit up, he could see the scary form of Spinark in his Reversion Form standing right on the field. He angrily roared and Darius on the other side chuckled.
"Ready to give up? Promise we won't make the reconditioning hurt, it's like deep sleep."
Andreas deactivated his Gauntlet blade and placed a power card into it. "Sorry, but there are things I'd rather not forget! Plus, it's very clear to me now that Yukiko can't be trusted, so she needs to be stopped! Meaning I've got to stop you!"
"You can try, but... Reversion... come on. You know how this ends."
Andreas tossed a gate card onto the field, spreading a bright yellow sheen across the ground of the battlefield.
"If I'm going to go down, it will be on my feet, and on my own terms. Now if you're indeed serious about following the orders of your 'Hot Fox'." he mocked using air quotes. "Then stop talking and throwdown!"
"Wow!" Darius said with a chuckle. "You've definitely changed, Andy. You're the life of the party you know that... It's honestly going to be a shame to lose all that... aaaaand I'm over it! Ready to rip 'em to shreds, Spinark!" the Spinosaur screeched, the shockwave nearly throwing Andreas off of his feet.
"Well, Gleamroller, we've got our work cut out for us... And I'm talking to you like you'll even respond. Then again, I'm getting a soft spot for a cat Alursian so maybe I AM losing my mind." he said while finishing with his thoughts. He took a deep breath. "Bakugan Brawl! Gleamroller Stand!" once Sentinel Gleamroller popped open, he stood up tall while glaring at the Spinosaurus in front of him.
Spinark: 1200 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 900
"Heh," Andreas chuckled. "This is going to be a challenge, isn't it? Oh well! Ability Activate, Spiked Barrage!" Gleamroller flexed his muscles, making spikes grow out of his body. They grew fully and they all shot out in different directions before focusing on both Darius and Spinark. This rose Gleamroller's power by 700 putting him at 1600.
"Whoa, those are sharp! Shouldn't be throwing those around willy-nilly! Ability Activate, Clear Mirror!" Darius spun his Trident and swung his opposite arm forward, making a tremendous circular barrier in front of his and Spinark's bodies. The watery barrier had taken all the spikes and stopped them in their tracks. Darius slowly rose his hand and pushed his fingers forward. The water barrier exploded, sending the spikes flying back to Gleamroller.
Spinark: 1200 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 1600(-700)= 900
The spikes had shot past Gleamroller, cutting him up, and leaving red scratches all over his body. Andreas growled in response, and he raised another ability card. "Then we'll just have to get you the hard way, Ability Activate, Needle Punch!" Gleamroller ran forward while his four fists had spikes growing out of them.
Spinark: 1200(-300)= 900 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 900(+300)= 1200
Once this power swap was completed, Gleamroller closed the gap but Darius didn't look at all fazed. "You'll get this hit for free. Hit us with your best shot!" he extended his arms out and following suit, Spinark let the punch land square in his face, making a large shock wave.
As the dust cleared, the spinosaurus was growling as the spiked punch didn't even move the creature. "Damn... so this is the power that Reversion grants..." Andreas thought to himself. "I'm getting sloppy, I need to attack smart and watch his reactions." Once he finished his thought he yelled out: "Gleamroller come back!" the Bakugan quickly leaped back to Andreas' side.
"Taking the safe route won't help ya! Ability Activate, Aquos Squall!" he rose his trident and summoned a very heavy rain storm within the large room itself. "When it rains like this, Spinark is unbeatable!" Spinark roared as 500Gs was added to his power level putting him at 1400 from 900.
"I'll take that challenge! Ability Activate, Shock Ball!" Gleamroller was charging an electrified orb in his hands, he tossed it right at Spinark.
Spinark: 1400 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 1200(+400)= 1600
The electrified ball was getting closer, but Darius was running toward it instead. "Here goes! Pressure Hunter!" his eyes shimmered with an ocean blue glow and with his Trident in hand he spun it in front of him, and this action was enough to dissipate the ball lightning entirely. Forcing a gasp from Andreas. Andreas also saw that Spinark's power level had risen to 1600.
"W-when did that happen!?"
"Looks like things are heating up, maybe you should cool off a little! Ability Activate, Dark Water!" Spinark roared and right from where he stood, there was a cyclone of poisonous water that spread out and covered the entire field."
"Shi-" Andreas had narrowly grabbed onto Gleamroller as the water was engulfing them.
Spinark: 1600(+400 +200)= 2200 / Gleamroller: 1600(-400)= 1200
As Andreas was holding onto Gleamroller who was floundering underwater, he could see both Spinark and Darius speeding toward them like sharks ready to feast on their prey.
"Time to get creative!" Andreas rose his gauntlet that had an ability already placed. Once it activated, Gleamroller was seen curling up into a ball and he discharged bright yellow electrical energy and the current was spreading through the water, conducting every fluid ounce of space, inevitably both Spinark and Darius had faced the electrocution of their lives. Unable to move, and their muscles were clenching as they floated there in complete agony.
Spinark: 2200(-800)= 1400 / Gleamroller: 1200
Darius did the only thing he had to. That was dissipate the dark water, and once the water was draining, everyone eventually got back to the ground. Andreas stood up and was coughing out water while Darius was panting heavily as there were singe marks on both him and Spinark. There was still smoke rising off of him as that was how hot they were under the current of Spark Wheel.
"Oh, that looked like it... hertz," Andreas said casually trying to make a quip. "Yeah, I'm never making quips again!"
"Now you've done it!?" Darius seethed. "I was just going to casually beat you, but now... You've pissed me off!" He had a card and threw it into his gauntlet. "Double Ability Activate, Spine Fire Plus Pressure Cyclone!"
Spinark's spines were glowing before each one discharged like blue energy missiles at Gleamroller. Darius then quickly turned to his water form and rushed over to both Gleamroller and Andreas. While in his water form, he ran around them, making a cyclone of water surround them.
Spinark: 1400(+500 +200)= 2100 / Gleamroller: 1200
Andreas knew his abilities were shut down as he tried to activate one, but failed. So, he fell back to one of his only options. "Welp here goes. Gate Card Open! Dry Terra!" the command card activated, and steam was created from all the drying moisture in the air. Darius was brought to a stop and he shifted out of his water form. The energy spines had evaporated before they even reached Gleamroller.
"What in Shi's name?"
"Dry Terra, made specifically to cripple Aquos users like you. It halves their power level and prevents them from activating any abilities!"
Spinark: 1900(/2)=1050 / Gleamroller: 1200
Darius had recovered but he was shocked to see Andreas speeding to him with his gauntlet blade extended. He quickly blocked the slice with his Trident and was sliding backward on his feet. "GO GLEAMROLLER!" Andreas yelled and Darius didn't notice that the ability card was activating.
"WAIT NO!" Darius exclaimed.
"SPIKED ASSAULT!" Spikes grew all over Gleamroller's body only this time he spun like a drill in the air and was heading for the vulnerable Spinark.
500Gs was transferred between them, which put Gleamroller at 1700 and Spinark down at a measly 550. Spinark was hit by the drill attack and both of them were sent into the area walls. Darius felt all the pain of his partner and Andreas slashed him on his right arm, making a wound.
"Oh, you little bugger!" he made Andreas parry a stab from his trident, and the Haos battler backed away. "I'm getting really tired of you! Ability Activate, Primeval Roa!" His body was shimmering a glossy blue while a dark blue aura surrounded him. He impaled his trident into the ground, making a bright blue shockwave that spread across the battlefield.
After the shockwave was created, Spinark, still smothered in the walls by Gleamroller, found his power returning, forced Gleamroller off of him, and swung his Trident-tipped tail into the four-armed lizard, sending him flying back to the other side of the field.
Spinark: 1050 - 2100 / Gleamroller: 1200
"Wha- how did you-"
"RAAAHH!" Darius shot forward to Andreas and missed a Trident stab, but managed to rake his claws against his face, giving him a four-clawed cat scratch on his left cheek, drops of blood were flying, and Spinark took the initiative to speed forward and engage Gleamroller, first biting him, scratching his knees making him bow before a final stab with his trident tail through Gleamroller's chest deal the final blow. The Haos lizard was engulfed in a bright yellow sheen before shooting back to Andreas who was still on the ground. His life gauge sharply fell to 10%.
Since Spinark was still in his Reversion form, he didn't retreat to his ball form.
Darius stood on his side of the field, already brandishing a gate card. "Stay down! Give up! You will never beat me one on one!"
Andreas slowly got up. "If I stayed down every time someone told me to... well I wouldn't be here, and quite frankly, you guys wouldn't have any people left to lead your people, unless deceptive Queens and Fox Tyrants are more your style! So, I'll stay on my feet, thank you!"
"Well, well, look who's finally gotten cocky!" he tossed his gate card out, spreading a blue sheen all over the field. "So, are you going to back up those words? Cause if you battle me now, I promise you. You'll be going to the reconditioning tank on a damn stretcher!"
"I'll take my chances!" he replied before tossing Gleamroller. "Bakugan Brawl!"
As Spectra was being taken by both Cameron and Jax, they stopped as they were outside of the Neathian prison cells. "H-hey! Why did you sto-" Cameron said before he was elbowed in his gut. Jax, pretending to be scared, let Spectra down and suddenly his gauntlet blade activated, and used it to slice his cuffs. He then sprinted through the halls, trying to find out where Helios was.
"Ow..." Cameron muttered, still trying to keep up appearances.
"The prisoner has escaped, locate him immediately!"
"Quickly report it to Aurea!"
The guards looked at Cameron and Jax. "You two, find him!"
"U-um yes!" Cameron yelped and Jax nodded. Once they got back up, they followed Spectra.
...
Aurea was inside her office and was seeing that several warships were heading to Earth's orbit to join Yukiko's effort. They were still traveling through the dimension rift so it would be some time before they arrived. Suddenly she had a Fabregan Royal Guard enter her quarters. "Ma'am!"
"Do you even knock?"
"Apologies ma'am! But Spectra has escaped!"
Aurea let out an angry sigh. "Put the base on lockdown, find those two Valkyrie who brought him here. I know exactly where he is going. And I will put a stop to it."
Servavi opened on her desk. "How did Spectra even escape?"
"I have an idea of how, but that shouldn't be dwelled on now," she replied to her partner. "Spectra shouldn't be allowed to reunite with Helios. This time, I will take down him once and for all!"
Meanwhile, within Bakugan City, there were news reports that were only talking about Yukiko's speech, and while they are very eager to find out the world's response, no one outside of the know would be able to comment.
Gray storm clouds had gathered over the city, and as this was happening both, Luna, Kaleb, and Kira had just left the main stadium. "Man... ever since the Neo Brawlers disappeared, the battles have been too easy!" Kira said while yawning.
"Being cocky isn't a good look, Kira." her Aquos Lutherion said.
"I know... but." she eyed her Ranking on her gauntlet to see she was #1 in the ranking followed by Kaleb, and Cera who still held onto her third-place ranking despite not being available to battle. She thought back to when she battled against Cameron and lost. "I wanna fight someone like him. I wanna be challenged again. It is true what they say, it's lonely at the top."
Kaleb pointed at her. "Hey, don't forget I'm still here, and I'll beat you one day, just wait!" she playfully stuck her tongue at him.
Luna though didn't seem in the mood. "Now isn't the time to be messing around. Do you remember what that fox person said? I've got a very bad feeling about this."
"So, what do we do?"
"Should something happen... we'd need to be able to fight against it..." she let out a sigh. "I think we need to find Hayato."
"Really? Him?" Kaleb scoffed. "Why settle for him, when I'm the only powerhouse that's needed."
"Because if this is going to go down like I think it will, then we will need all the help we can get."
"But where would he even be?" Kira asked. "No one has even heard of him since that tower incident a couple of months ago."
Luna thought for a moment. "He obviously doesn't want to be found, but I tracked his home address a few days ago!"
Both Kaleb and Kira were shocked, their mouths agape. "Wait... you've known this whole time and you said nothing!?" Kira exclaimed.
"He made it clear he didn't want to talk to anyone. When he said he quit Bakugan, he meant it. But if we need all hands on deck, then we'll need his help."
"Well, what are we waiting for, let's go find him." Luna held her arm in front of her over-excited teammate. "Rather let me do the talking, Kira."
They were starting to make their way to Hayato's place hoping to get his help.
The battle cries of two combatants were heard as Andreas and Darius clashed with their weapons inside Queen Rena's ship. As the sparks flew, their Bakugan clashed as well, Spinark lashing Gleamroller with his tail, and the Haos lizard throwing a fist into the dinosaur's face.
Both teams flew back after their initial clash and used their abilities at the same time.
"Spiked Barrage!"
"Spine Fire!"
Spinark's glowing spines shot out while Gleamrollers spikes grew out and they fired right at Spinark and Darius.
Spinark: 1200(+500)= 1700 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 900(+700 -500)= 1100
Many of the spines made it through the spikes that Gleamroller fired, and he was open to being impaled. "Then we'll use this, Ability Activate, Alpha Aegis!" Gleamroller's body hardened before crossing his wrists, making a bright blue, hexagonal barrier that managed to absorb the energy and block the attack.
Spinark: 1700(-500)= 1200 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 1100(+500)= 1600
"Keep it going, Ability Activate, Needle Punch!" Gleamroller shot forward while attempting to punch Spinark with spikes growing out from where his knuckles would be. He heaved a single four-fisted uppercut that sent Spinark flying up into the air and down to the ground hard. 300Gs were transferred, putting Spinark down to 900 and Gleamroller up to 1900. Darius placed a card into his gauntlet.
"You're gonna wish you hadn't done that! Double Ability Activate. Pressure Hunter Plus Fusion Ability Daedalus!" Darius' eyes turned blue and he shot forward, lowering himself as much as he can as he approached Andreas and Gleamroller. There was also a dark and bright blue energy surrounding him as he approached the pair.
From 900, his power grew by 400 putting him at 1300 thanks to Daedalus while subtracting the same amount from Gleamroller, bringing him down to 1500. While Pressure Hunter had made his charge forward. Andreas tried to parry against Darius, but he was immediately floored as he made a bee-line for Gleamroller.
"I'm over this! Reversion Ability Activate, Spinal Fury!" his diverged spines grew and he leaped up, curled and he was spinning like a saw. As his body spun there was a large, bright blue energy saw that covered him as he spun to cut right through Gleamroller.
Spinark: 1300 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 1500(-900)= 600
"Gleamroller, counter him Ability Activate! Spark Wheel!" In response, Gleamroller had curled himself and rolled right at Darius and has pulses of electricity surrounding his body, as he sped right at Spinark.
Spinark: 1300(-800)= 500 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 600
Both of them met in the middle and as they collided, there was a roar of draconic energy that was fighting against Gleamroller who turned it up a gear and there was an explosion of electrical energy which sent Darius flying across the field and he shot hard into the wall.
Gleamroller had rolled right up to Andreas and stood tall while Spinark looked weak since his partner took a big hit. "Let's end this! Ability Activate! Ball Lighting!" The Bakugan had raised his arms over his head and there was a large ball of electrical energy that formed in between his hands. "THROW IT!" Andreas exclaimed as his partner tossed the ball right at Spinark.
Spinark: 500(-650)= 0 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 600
Darius with a line of blood falling from his mouth wiped it off and he threw a Reversion Ability card into his gauntlet as the electrical orb was speeding toward both him and his partner.
"As if I'll make it that easy! Reversion Ability Activate, Deep Hunter!" the electrical orb exploded right in front of them, and when the electrical shockwave engulfed them, they looked to have disappeared. Suddenly there were two massive streaks of water zooming around the field. One of them had crashed into Andreas, flooring him and the other tripped up Gleamroller.
"B-but how... your power level is at zero?"
Their water bodies had re-materialized. "That's the beauty of Reversion, I saw it with Yukiko, the ability to battle without being restrained by power levels! You could bring our power into the negatives, but as long as Spinark and I have the will, you will not knock us down! That and Deep Hunter make us immune to anything you throw at us! Also, your power level is knocked way down!"
"What!" Andreas growled as he stood back up.
"Now, Gate card Open! Aquos Reactor!" as this happened, jets of water were shooting out from the ground and the ground itself was becoming as deep as a shallow river.
Spinark: 0(+400)= 400 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 100
"Wet ground, I think this is perfect!" Both Darius and Spinark physically dove into the ground, disappearing from Andreas' view.
"Oh, man! Where'd they run off to now?" right as he said that, there was a loud splash behind him and he saw Spinark biting down on Gleamroller's neck, drawing blood, and once the momentum swung back, the Haos lizard was dragged underwater. "Gleamroller!" Andreas however wasn't allowed to rest as Darius' hand splashed out from the ground, clasped onto his head, and dragged him underwater too.
As they were underwater, Andreas could see Darius and Spinark teaming up against Gleamroller who only appeared to be sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss. He activated an ability and once the card shone. Spikes were glowing all over Gleamroller's body and he spun like a drill and shot forward at Spinark, but missed since the Spinosaurus was much more agile underwater.
Spinark: 400(-500)= 0 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 100(+500)= 600
Gleamroller then picked up Andreas and tried to get to the surface. Darius smirked as he lifted another Reversion Ability Card. "Reversion Ability Activate, Leviathan!"
As soon as Gleamroller and Andreas had surfaced, they hit the ground hard and were panting, trying to catch their breath. But there was left no time to rest as they could see all the water in the battlefield was speeding over to Darius and Spinark who had just surfaced themselves. The area, even the air around them was very dry, and this resulted in a water helix forming around both Darius and Andreas. All the power that Gleamroller had recently gained was instantly returned to Spinark. There were watery dragon heads atop the helixes that roared.
Spinark: 0(+500)= 500 / Sentinel Gleamroller 600(-500)= 100
"You've got to be kidding me! What is it going to take!" Andreas started to angrily type on his gauntlet. "I'm so sick of you!" the lights from his gauntlet were building the assault gear.
'Ready: Combustoid Prime'
"Assault Gear: Combustoid Prime, Destroy!" he tossed the Assault Gear and it attached itself to the top half of Gleamroller's arms. The triangular laser and shoulder turrets had built themselves on his arms. Gleamroller let out a defiant roar as the gear had finished building itself. His power level increased by 100, putting him at a measly 200Gs.
"Assault Gear... never heard of that... but you must be getting desperate if you're pulling that out now."
"Tch Assault Gear Ability Activate, Electric Storm!" All the laser turrets opened and were aiming forward and each of them fired large yellow energy orbs with blue electric cores.
Spinark: 500(-200)= 300 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 200(+500)= 700
Darius smirked as he and Spinark charged forward right at the attacks, and once they were close enough, the water helixes suddenly became so pressurized, they were able to physically cut through the attack, as if it was nothing.
"WHAT?!"
Spinark and Darius flew up and Darius held a Fusion Reversion Ability card. "I'd like to say this battle was pretty good. But you electrocuted me, and that freaking hurt! So I'll have absolute pleasure grinding you into the damn dirt!" Fusion Reversion Ability Activate, GAIA VORTEX!" Spinark's glowing maw had absorbed all the water from the helix and was charging a massive attack. Darius aimed his trident forward and was mimicking his partner. Suddenly large water vortexes were formed as the main part of their attack. Even some of the walls close by were breaking apart and were being sucked into the vortex. Darius chuckled. "So long, it wasn't nice knowing you!"
They both discharged their pressurized vortexes that were falling and they soon diverged into smaller pressurized vortexes and had blue shrapnel in the mix. As it was speeding town to Andreas, he had no energy left to move, he however was surprised to see Gleamroller standing in front of him and using the shield mode on his Assault Gear to defend him. The lizard gave a side glance back to Andreas.
"Gleamroller-" the Gaia Vortex had crashed into them, making tremendous waves crash all over the battlefield. Andreas was thrown back by the attack but was relatively unharmed by it. His partner on the other hand...
Spinark: 300(+700)= 1000 / Sentinel Gleamroller: 700(-700)= 0
Gleamroller was hovering in his ball form and sped to Darius' palm as he was floating back down to the ground. He saw Andreas was on the ground, completely soaked, but somehow, someway, was still moving. He stood up trying to activate his gauntlet saber, but to no avail, as it looked like his gauntlet was completely trashed.
"Wow... you don't know how to give up do you?"
Andreas threw his gauntlet down and raised his fists while letting out tired breaths. "I'd... sooner die... than be reconditioned..."
"Bro, don't be so dramatic. You've lost, just admit it. Besides, it will be just like waking up from a dream, completely painless."
*BOOM*
The entire ship had rocked slightly as there was an explosion. "Oh, what now!" before he could figure out what was going on. The main doors to the arena had blown open.
"Tempest Shard!" Bright green energy blades were speeding in his direction and he deflected them with his Trident but he was nearly knocked off his feet as the winged Akira and her partner appeared on the battlefield. The girl, brandishing her sword in the process.
Akira had hovered in front of Andreas to protect him as he was beaten up enough as it was.
"W-wait, you?! How did you-?"
Akira side-glanced at him. "This is the backup plan, I'm here to break you out of the mess you've gotten yourself in. Apparently, this isn't new for you."
"Heh, you're here to challenge me, girl?" Darius asked with an annoyed tone. "I've made short work of your friend here already."
Radion swung her arm. "As if, Needle Fury!" there was a storm of purple needles that pelted both a battle-weakened Darius and Spinark. They both had scratches all over their bodies as the poison was hindering their vision. Right as Darius was about to counterattack, there was a bright flash in front of him and a green and white blur snatched his trident from him.
Akira slid to a stop, bent down as she glared at Darius, her blade in her right hand and his Trident in the other. The next minute Darius was kicked in the stomach, and as he flew to the wall, she tossed his trident at him.
Darius' eyes grew and the trident impaled itself deep into its target. Fortunately for Darius, it wasn't him, but rather his arm as the forks of the trident stuck themselves into the wall trapping Darius' arm in between the forks. He tried to release the trident with his left hand but to no avail.
"Whoa..." Andreas breathed.
"We need to leave!" Akira transformed back to her regular form before Radion shrunk to her ball form. There's a shuttle waiting for us! And we are going to take it!" without thinking, she grabbed his hand and was dragging him across the halls of the ship which was tilting slightly due to the damage both she and Radion caused on the outside. Andreas was soldiering on but the adrenaline was wearing off and he could feel his injuries and fatigue hitting him hard.
"Gnngh." Andreas could stand and Akira lifted him and threw his hand over her shoulder. "I can't exactly move a lot."
"Fine, I'll do my best, but I'm not exactly muscular..."
...
They got to the hangar and they saw one of the Valkyrie directing them. Akira at this point was barely keeping Andreas standing.
They leaped through the low gravity environment, got onto the ship, and the door shut. The shuttle launched out of the open hangar before any guards could respond fast enough. Once they were out in space and out of range of Rena's warship, Akira was panting and lay back on her seat.
"Are you okay?" Andreas asked
"It's just battle, after battle... There's almost no end to it!" she complained.
"Tell me about it..." Radion commented.
Andreas let out a sigh before he coughed. "Thank you." Akira eyed him curiously. "I wouldn't have gotten out of there without your help. If we're being honest, I should be a goner right now. He eyed his hands and he remembered the final look that Gleamroller gave him before he lost him and was taken by Darius. I'm such an idiot! I shouldn't have taken him on... now Gleamroller is gone." however he was surprised when he saw Gleamroller's ball form being tossed at him by Akira. "B-but how..."
"In my skirmish, I swiped him back for you."
Andreas squeezed his partner gently. "I don't know what to say..."
She sat back in her seat. "Then don't say anything... but from here on out, we can't be so reckless. That goes for all of us... We have a lot more to lose than our Bakugan."
Andreas looked out the window into the stars. "Yeah, sure... as soon as I get back, I'm going to sleep for a week. By the way? Why did Valarie think me walking into a trap was a good idea."
"I didn't ask, remind me to ask her the next time we see her. For now, get as much rest as possible, we can only hope the next battle won't be close."
...
Deep within the Neathian palace, Spectra came across a mechanical door that looked recently constructed. He saw the space in-between the doors and activated his gauntlet blade to attempt to cut open the latches. After sticking his gauntlet in the space and slicing open the locks. He pushed the door open, slowly as it made a large grinding sound. As he entered, the entire lab lit up, starting with floor lighting that flipped on, one at a time.
He could see the room was pretty large, holding liquid tanks that were large enough to hold Bakugan. "Spectra Phantom!" he heard. The entire room lit up and Aurea was right at the end of the large hallway with a looming shadowy figure behind her.
"We meet again, Aurea."
The woman took a step forward. "I won't mince words with you and I'll get right to the point. I know exactly why you are here!" she snapped her fingers and behind her, the shadowy figure revealed itself to be Infinity Helios. He was taking heavy breaths and his eyes were shining purple. "After many attempts, we've managed finally recondition him. But he did put up a pretty good fight."
"As I thought," Spectra said. "So, what's the plan? You are going to use Helios to squash me like a bug?"
"I could... but it would be more useful to force you into our ranks as well, you and Helios will be reunited, but will be fighting for our cause. Of course, I don't expect you to make it easy... especially with your help?"
As soon as she mentioned that, Cameron and Jax, still in their disguises had arrived at the labs. "Spectra! We've Found you! Surrender immediately!" Cameron exclaimed.
Aurea pinched the bridge of her nose. "Give it a rest, Carmen! I know you aren't who you say you are. In fact, you're that human, aren't you?" he fearfully took a step back.
"Welp, the jig is up."
Cameron threw off the wig, and Jax did the same. "Yeah, fine you caught us. But what can you do, there's two of us that can battle, and only one of you!"
"It would be foolish of me to arrive here without my partner for backup." Servavi had opened up on her shoulder. She eyed Jax who stood beside Cameron. "So Heros was accurate, you indeed are battling against us now. Which begs the question of this new partner of yours he mentioned."
"That would be me!" Marvellion exclaimed. "And I'm not going to lose, you got it!?"
"So, this was your plan, find Helios, swipe him, or beat me enough that you will take him back?" Aurea equipped her gauntlet.
"I see you have Helios... but where is Vulcan?"
"He's already among our attack force that will go down to Earth, should they refuse our demands."
Cameron flinched in fear. "S-so you really are going after Earth?"
"Not in the way you think. A united universe under one leadership is exactly what is required. A unified front where all planets are working together."
"Invading Neathia and Gundalia is hardly something that can just be classed as 'uniting everyone'!" Spectra said.
Aurea let out a sigh. "We will do what we must for our people." Her partner hovered beside her in her ball form. She held a gate card in between her fingers. "Gate Card Set!" the card was set on the ground and it was absorbed into the ground, letting out a rectangular pulse. Bakugan Brawl! Servavi stand!" the Bakugan slowly rose while on one knee. Once she looked at Spectra, Cameron, and Jax while Helios slowly walked beside her. Heavy breaths were leaving Helios as the group facing him noticed his pupil-less eyes.
Spectra hummed to himself. "Cameron, do me a favor and get Blazeon to only attack Helios. And whatever you do, don't hold back!"
"Um... ok," he eyed Jax. "Will you be ok, taking on that other Bakugan by yourself?"
Marvellion opened up beside Jax. "We've got this! Don't worry!" Jax gulped to himself, but he gave a determined nod. "Put me in Jax!"
"Got it!" after closing herself, Jax tightened his grip. "Bakugan Brawl! Marvellion Stand!" Marvellion hovered just above the ground. "I've gone toe to toe with that volcano Bakugan, I can easily take you guys on."
"Bakugan Brawl! Blazeon stand!" Blazeon's ball form stood and his top half spun and he shot up in a tornado of blue flames. Helios growled to himself as he eyed Blazeon.
"The hell, are you looking at?" Blazeon rudely asked.
Infinity Helios: 1200 / Servavi: 950
Marvellion: 750 / Blazeon: 750
Aurea held a Fabregan-styled Ability Card and slotted it into her gauntlet. "Hmph, once this is all over, you will all be fighting with us. Ability Activate, Ragnarok Buster!" Helios' stomach armor opened up and he angrily roared as he fired an all-consuming electrified energy blast that was speeding to Blazeon immediately transferring 500 between them.
Infinity Helios: 1200(+500)= 1700 / Blazeon: 750(-500)= 250
Jax was about to act, but Cameron turned his head and eyed Blazeon. "Don't worry, we've got this! Blazeon!" Cameron held up a card as his dragon Reversion symbol shone. "Dragon Firewall!" Blazeon made a hemisphere of flames surround his body and the blast consumed him completely. He appeared from the energy blast covered in smoke, but he was relatively fine.
"Heh, that all you got? And you were supposed to be the Ultimate Bakugan, hah! Don't make me laugh!" the Dragonoid quipped. Because Dragon firewall nullified the ability Blazeon returned to 750Gs and got an increase of 200, putting him at 950. While Helios fell back to his base level of 1200. "Fire me up, Cameron!" Blazeon flew right at Helios and Cameron immediately knew what his partner wanted to do next.
"Double Ability Activate, Nova Wing plus Blazing Rush!" Blazeon's wings were engulfed in bright blue flames and he was pummelling Helios with a hard kick and a sharp slash across his face, all the while his limbs had blue flames following them. He followed up his attack by flying up and flung his wing forward, throwing blue fire rings right at Helios
Infinity Helios: 1200(-200)= 1000 / Blazeon: 950(+400)= 1350
Aurea didn't look at all concerned and raised her gauntlet. "Ability Activate, Battle Warrior!" a purple aura covered Helios and he grew spikes on his armor and his horns grew sharper. He watched the fire rings speeding toward him and he raised his claws and he slashed through them with little effort, making the flames fizzle out.
Infinity Helios: 1000(+400)= 1400 / Servavi: 950
Marvellion: 750 / Blazeon: 1350(-400)= 950
Aurea had two cards and threw them in her gauntlet. "Both of you, disappear! Servavi, Tesla Whip! Helios, Bolting Breaker!" Servavi's right arm morphed into a single, thick tentacle whip and threw herself at Blazeon while Helios flung a magenta energy orb from his tail.
Infinity Helios: 1400(+200)= 1600 / Servavi: 950
Marvellion: 750 / Blazeon: 950(-200 -650)= 200
Jax swung his arm. "Your turn Marvellion, Ability Activate, Serpent Screen!" Marvellion leaped in front of Blazeon, shot her hands forward, and made a thin sky-blue barrier, increasing her power level by 500, putting her at 1250Gs. Bolting Breaker had hit the barrier, immediately dissipating it since she had a lower power level. After her shield dissipated, she staggered in the air Servavi was speeding down to Marvellion. Aurea was ready to bolster her ability since her power level was lower.
"Fusion Ability Activate, Amperage Augmentation!" lightning struck her and her right arm-whip was supercharged as her power increased by 450Gs, putting her at 1400Gs. Marvellion was slashed with the whip and was flung right to the ground.
Spectra folded his arms and glared at Cameron. "If you are going to hold back, then neither of you don't have a chance!"
Cameron glared back as his eyes shone bright yellow. "You want me to stop holding back!? FINE!" there was an explosion of blue flames and Cameron immediately was in his Reversion Form, forcing a transformation from Blazeon as well. They felt their power rise instantly as they were in their Reversion Forms. Their power level increased by 200Gs after their transformation.
Immediately, Aurea discharged her gauntlet blade. "This is your only warning. You come near me; you die!"
After he remembered what happened to Akira, being injured, and Zavanna being kidnapped by Daro. He did his best to keep down his rage. "I'm going to take my anger out on Helios, but if you come anywhere near me with that thing, I may not hold myself back from badly hurting you!"
Aurea smirked. "You... throwing out threats?! I'm pleasantly surprised, boy, it seems you've been battle hardened since. You've come a long way!"
"Am I supposed to be flattered?"
"No, but after I beat you. You'll fall in line, and that anger will be put to good use!"
Cameron glared as he pulled out two cards. "Not before I end this quickly! Double Ability Activate, Combustion Dragon-" Blazeon leaped high, close to the ceiling and a blue ball of flame was generating in his mouth. "Plus Reversion Ability – Dazzling Dragon!" the flames immediately flared up and had sharper arcs of fire surrounding them. Blazeon discharged his attack and as it fell, the fireball formed a comet trail as it grew in size.
Infinity Helios: 1600 (-200 -350)= 1050 / Servavi: 1400
Marvellion: 1250 / Blazeon: 400 (+200 +350)= 950
The blue flames engulfed Helios and right after they covered him, he chuckled. "Hah, is that the best you can do, Dragonoid!?"
"You forgot me, Jerk!" Cameron flew right at Helios' face. "Ability Activate, Dragon Edge!" he was completely covered in blue flames and he headbutt Helios, making the Darkus Bakugan flinch, but as the flames fizzled out, he immediately dove right at Aurea. "Jax hit the other Bakugan!" he bellowed.
Aurea's pupils shrunk as she saw Cameron speeding right at her. "Oh, you little-!"
"UP HERE!" everyone saw Blazeon speeding down at Helios, preparing to strike him with his own version of Dragon Edge as blue flames covered his body. "You already forgot me, bad move!"
Infinity Helios: 1050 (-400)= 650 / Blazeon: 950 (+400) = 1350
Aurea looked like she thought of a counter, but right as Cameron's fingered claws crossed with Aurea's gauntlet, Blazeon had headbutted Helios, making the ground, crack and buckle under the force of the attack as well as Helios' weight.
"Let's go Marvellion! Ability Activate, Mizu Slicer!" Marvellion's arms were covered in blades of water. She leaped up with her tail and she flung the sharp water crescents at Servavi
Servavi: 1400 (-300)= 1100 / Marvellion: 1250
"Aurea!" Servavi exclaimed but saw her parry another claw scratch from Cameron with her gauntlet blade. Being distracted by her partner's plight, she didn't defend herself against the water blades that cut her and she was parried back by the attack. "Stop messing around and shake off the kid!"
The Fabregan tried to hold her ground and continued to block, but there was only so much she could do with a Gauntlet blade essentially leaving her with a single weapon of attack, while Cameron in comparison had multiple if you counted his claws, tail and even... his head.
*BAM!* Cameron on queue had headbutted Aurea, the force of the impact dazed her heavily and even cut her forehead open, making blood fall from it. "This isn't the same person! He's deranged... what's gotten into him?!"
...
Hours before the plan got underway, Spectra approached Cameron in the empty lounge of the warship. "Cameron, I hope you realize that you are a very important part of this plan being a success."
"U-um... yeah I understand."
"Do you... depending on who is waiting for us at the palace, we could either enter battle or walk out with little resistance. If we battle, I need you to hold nothing back. Fight as if your life depends on it! The Fabregans won't care about hurting, and crippling you or those close to you or worse." Cameron though back to when he learned of Akira being hurt. "I've seen you fight... There's a monster inside you, you just need to let him out a little."
"B-but..."
"Why hold yourself back? You're not battling on Earth for fun anymore." he took off his mask. "You see, Keith Fermin, is someone who cares about his allies, looks at the big picture, and thinks long and hard before making decisions." he put his mask back on and the eyes behind them shone brightly, he put on his Gauntlet and discharged his gauntlet blade to make his point. "But Spectra Phantom is cold, calculating, merciless. And above all, relentless!" Cameron stepped back in fear slightly. "Now... if I wanted to hurt say... Zavanna? What would you do?!"
"I-I wouldn't let..." he said while shivering.
"I can't hear you!"
"I said I WOULDN'T LET YOU!" his eyes flashed a draconic bright yellow, matching his and Blazeon's eyes when in their Reversion forms. He got right in Spectra's face and felt his heart rate rise as he stepped up to him.
Spectra chuckled. "Would you now?" he stepped back to let Cameron calm down. "I've found my monster and learned to control it." he took off his mask and stared Cameron down with a stern expression. "Where's yours?"
...
Cameron glared right at Aurea; his bright yellow eyes gleaming. "There's no mistaking it, he's out for blood!" he saw Blazeon's Dragon Edge attack pushing Helios deeper and deeper into the ground before it finally gave way and he fell a floor below into the sub-lab.
Aurea let out a deep breath after their first skirmish. "Who knew under all that human flesh was a warrior? Perhaps we were after the wrong Dragonoid user the whole time." she swiped her gauntlet blade and ejected her old gauntlet power card and slotted in a different card that had a different design. The front of her gauntlet ejected a curved dark purple beam saber while also jutting out plasma blades of the same color from the sides while being smaller than its main blade. "Make no mistake, if I have to put you down for sake of our people... so be it!"
"You won't!"
"Servavi!" Aurea exclaimed, and the purple Bakugan stepped beside her. "Gate Card Open, Angelic Absorption!" Cameron, Blazeon, and Marvellion could feel themselves becoming weaker. Auras of their attributes appeared around them, and they were being absorbed by both Servavi and Helios who was still down in the sub-lab. Both Darkus Bakugan had rising purple auras surrounding them.
"Sorry... I'm feeling woozy..." Marvellion said as Blazeon fell beside her and Cameron fell to one knee as his entire body felt very heavy from fatigue.
"Angelic Absorption splits the power level of any Pyrus, Haos and Aquos attributed Bakugan, and adds the other half to any Darkus, Subterra, and Ventus Bakugan on the field."
Infinity Helios: 650(+750)= 1400 / Servavi: 1100(+650)= 1750
Marvellion: (1250/2)= 600 / Blazeon: (1350/2)= 700
"And while you are down, Helios come to me!" Helios boosted himself out of the hole.
"No one and I mean no one orders me around!" Helios grumbled. "Do that again and I will EAT you, understand?"
"Don't forget who your master is, Helios." Aurea calmly said. "You seem to forget your place, don't make me put you back into it!"
"Oh, how the mighty have fallen!" Spectra chuckled. "You are going to let her talk to you like that!?"
Aurea placed a card into her gauntlet. "This is tedious! Why don't I just end you all here!? Ability Activate, Event Horizon!"
Servavi curled herself as purple electric bolts surrounded her; she then became engulfed in a dark energy that compressed her body into a sphere of dark matter. This ability added 700 to Servavi putting her at 2450Gs.
Once she was in her dark matter form, three red eyes glared from the dark sphere, and immediately, Blazeon, Marvellion, Cameron, Jax, and Spectra were being dragged into what was effectively a black hole.
"JAX!" Marvellion exclaimed as she was the closest to being sucked in completely. "I've got a plan, let me go into it! And I'll take care of the rest."
"Are you sure-"
"Yes... just trust me on this!" Jax nodded and Marvellion had lightened herself and was flying toward the black hole while looking like she was swimming. "HAAAA! Vengeance Scale!" A bright blue outline surrounded her body and she touched Servavi's black hole form and the dark energy was being absorbed into her body. "WHOA!" she could feel a surge of power flowing into her. Once the power absorbed reached its apex, Servavi went flying back and rolled onto one knee.
She saw Marvellion surrounded by a powerful white aura and her power raised by double the amount that Event Horizon would have given Servavi
Infinity Helios: 1400 / Servavi: 2450
Marvellion: 600(+700x2)= 2000 / Blazeon: 700
Before Marvellion unleashed her attack, Jax had an idea. "-Plus, Fusion Ability – Sky Ascent!" Marvellion had a beaming smile as a surge of power flowed through her.
"Thanks for the boost, sweetie!" Marvellion shot up to and through the ceiling. She flew outside and was high in the sky. She held herself there, the white and black aura surrounding her intensified and she flew down, and she was powered by green outlines that surrounded her body and her scales.
Servavi: 2450(-600)= 1850 / Marvellion: 2000(+400)= 2400
Marvellion fell back down, through the ceiling and crashed right into Servavi making a tremendous burst of wind that blew back both Servavi and Helios.
As they were blown back, Cameron and Blazeon took their chance. Double Ability, Combustion Tornado, plus Reversion Ability, Fire Spirit. Cameron leaped up in front of both Helios and Servavi and twirled his body and he generated a blazing tornado as geometric patterns appeared around his body. The fire tornado surrounded him completely and after he was hovering for a while, allowing the flames to build, he swung his arms, sending the vortex toward Helios which engulfed him.
At the same time, Blazeon was surrounded by a fire tornado and because of the fire spirit, the flames turned an explosive blue and shot toward Helios. Blazeon headbutts him as Cameron went for the stomach and shot back after the impact.
Infinity Helios: 1400 / Blazeon: 700(+300x2)= 1300
Spectra chuckled and both he and Helios weren't impressed. "Is that the best you've got?" they said in unison.
Cameron glared at Helios. "Shut up! Reversion Ability Activate, Dazzling Wing Slash!"
Infinity Helios: 1400(-500)= 900 / Blazeon: 1300(+500)= 1800
Blazeon and Cameron's wings were engulfed in orange flames while Blazeon's limbs were covered in fire, he threw himself at Helios. And Cameron shot himself at Aurea, who was almost prepared, and had to duck under Cameron's kick he tried to slash her after turning around but Aurea had parried him and thrust her left arm thrust into the side of his stomach. He screamed in pain, but considering he was still operating on anger and adrenaline, he slashed Aurea's face, making her cry out and she backed away. Cameron held his stomach and saw the open wound.
Aurea glared at Cameron as she had a card in her gauntlet. "Reversion Ability Activate, Gravity Displacement!"
Servavi extended her arms which were covered in a black glow and there was a black orb that grew and covered the entire area in a dark tint. As this happened, Helios felt light, Blazeon and Cameron were stuck in place and felt as if there was a tremendous force pushing down on them. Marvellion and Jax were weightless and were hovering in the air.
Aurea raised her hand. "With the Reversion Ability – Gravity Displacement, Servavi and I can control the gravity in space on my allies or enemies, I can make anyone on the field completely weightless, or extremely heavy." she eyed Helios. "And I've made Helios perfectly lighter. Now... eliminate that human immediately!" she said pointing at Cameron.
"Shut up woman, I decide whether I take people out. However, this human and his Dragonoid have been bugging me!" his stomach armor opened and the cannon was charging and he was aiming it directly at Cameron. "No more human, no more Bakugan! Ragnarok Buster!"
Infinity Helios: 900(+500)= 1400 / Servavi: 1850
Marvellion: 2400 / Blazeon: 1800 (-500)= 1300
"CAMERON NO!" Blazeon exclaimed as the tremendous blast shot from Helios' stomach. Cameron saw the attack coming his way and his vision was blinded by the bright purple light. An explosion engulfed him and Helios chuckled to himself.
"So long kid!" As the dust cleared, a red glowing figure could be seen shooting through it. "NO HOW!?"
"NEO HUMMER!" Cameron exclaimed as his body was covered in a red aura. Both his and Blazeon's power level increased by 100 matching Helios' power level of 1400. He threw his fist right at Helios which made him flinch before he disappeared from his sight. "Where did you go!?"
Thanks to Cameron's increased speed Blazeon stood up and faced Helios since he was being powered by Neo Hummer as well, he could stand up against the heavy gravity. "It's over!"
At the same time, Cameron had appeared a distance behind Aurea. "You're finished!" Cameron exclaimed as his Dragon reversion symbol shone brightly "Blazeon, together!"
"With gusto!"
Aurea though looked rattled. "What's the matter Aurea...?" Spectra asked. "Why don't you pull out one of Helios' Reversion Abilities... oh wait... that's right, you may have taken over Helios' mind... but there is one thing you don't have." he held a forbidden card which made Aurea gasp. "Remember this, Helios?"
Helios grunted when he saw that card and it suddenly brought back images of his body being transformed into that of a cyborg, his many battles with another Dragonoid, and being bred to grow strong to become the ultimate Bakugan. "You want this, don't you? Then take it! Reversion X!" he tossed the card and it was absorbed into Helios there was a loud heartbeat and his eyes grew wide as Chaos Ability tendrils wrapped around him.
"Yes... YES!"
"Spectra what the HELL!?" Cameron snarled.
"You want to defeat Helios, you're going to need to pull out everything you have, boy!" he chuckled. "There is only one person who understands Helios' hunger for power and destruction, and that person is me. Spectra Phantom!" Spectra re-activated his gauntlet. "Now are you going to make this difficult, or will you return to your true master?"
Infinity Helios: 1400(+200)= 1600 / Blazeon: 1400
"Helios, don't listen to that Vestal! I am your true master!"
"Focus, Aurea!" Servavi exclaimed. "We still have the battle to win!"
"Then take out that Dragonoid, Ability Activate, Conduit Combat!" arcs of purple electricity were surrounding her limbs, and she shot at Blazeon.
Infinity Helios: 1600 / Servavi: 1850(+500)= 2350
Marvellion: 2400 / Blazeon: 1400(-500)= 900
Servavi ran right to Blazeon, but Marvellion had gotten in between them and took the first blow, clashing with Blazeon. "Marvellion?" he questioned.
"I'm ok... let me take the hits!" Servavi was striking as hard as possible but Marvellion made sure to get in the way, and it didn't help that the gravity made her weightless, so she was moving around a lot easier.
"Enough!" Servavi then backed off and swung her arms down and Marvellion suddenly felt a heavy weight come down onto her and she fell onto her hands.
Helios snarled. "I hate sitting on the sidelines! Give me more power!"
"And you will get it!" Spectra exclaimed. "But before that!" he held up a special Chaos Ability Card that was white with red accents. "Now it's time to wake up and experience your true potential."
"What the hell are you on about!?" Helios exclaimed.
"Ohoho, you'll see," he said with a laugh and he pressed a few keys on his gauntlet.
'Chaos link activated.' The gauntlet then looked to firmly attach itself to Spectra. His arm had chaos ability tendrils wrapping around it. "Ability Activate, Chaos Reversion X!" he inserted the card into his gauntlet, and the second he did, the adrenaline in his body spiked as it was starting to go into shock. He could barely stand as his vision nearly went black and he could feel everything that Helios was feeling.
Helios was screaming in pain and roared in agony as veins were spreading all over his body. Spectra had similar veins going through his body as well, his heart rate increased exponentially as it was trying to adapt to what Spectra had done.
As Helios was feeling tremendous pain, he could then see more of his memories. One where he butted heads, literally with Drago, defeating him on Earth, before it shifted to Spectra having a gauntlet saber dual with Dan back on New Vestroia. Then they shifted to him having his body modified, experimenting with battle gear, and him using the Twin Destructor. His memories then shifted to his transition to the Darkus attribute. The last memory he saw was of Spectra losing to Yukiko and her taking possession of him through battle. "Hahaha... so that's what happened!" his pupils re-appeared and he leered down to Aurea. "You, are not my partner!" he stomped the ground around her, making her lose her footing.
Helios' back armor was cracking, and right below his booster pack, black dragon wings emerged with orange undersides, his muscles grew slightly and he had the veins that were pulsing through him were glowing red, plus the scars under his eyes were glowing orange, and red as if a fiery aura was passing through them. His eyes turned bright red and he stomped hard on the ground. "My old power, in my new body... This... now this is the power I've been craving! The power to completely decimate everyone in front of me!"
Spectra chuckled as he covered his right eye which when it was revealed, was the same as Helios', his arms mimicked the armor on Helios' and it tore through the arms of his jacket. The gauntlet attached itself to him and seemed to look like it was a part of the arm itself. His lower half remained the same, but he sprouted the same tail Helios had and he had grown the same wings that Helios had grown on his back. He took off his mask and Spectra had the same scars that Helios did under his eyes. Spectra's breathing was heavy as he tried to acclimatize himself to the new form. "Cameron... Jax... take a break. Helios and I have some business that needs taking care of." His red eye shone as it was glaring right at Aurea. The view of the battle from their gauntlets had revealed that Helios's Reversion transformation reflected him as both a Darkus and Pyrus-attributed Bakugan.
A tired Cameron reverted to his base form and he caught Blazeon as soon as he compressed back to his ball form. Same for Marvellion as she shot to Jax. Aurea extended her gauntlet blade and placed a card into it, refusing to back down. "Servavi! We should use our Reversion-" but suddenly Spectra was by her side.
"As if I'd let that happen..." he elbowed Aurea, sending her sliding on the ground hard. "Reversion Ability Activate, Viper Quasar!" An orb of black and red energy was charging in his maw.
"Now this is familiar! Heh. CHOKE. ON. THIS!" he fired an explosion that compressed into a large beam of black and orange flames that sped to Servavi
Infinity Helios: 1600(+750)= 2350 / Servavi: 2350
She took the attack and was forced to a wall and Spectra flew up as if he was going to use an ability. "Now let's see how this Reversion works from my end. Reversion Ability – Boltflare Breaker!" When Spectra was high in the air, he generated eight fiery orbs around him with dark pulses of electricity surrounding them. He flung his arms and they were rapid-firing fiery, electric beams down at Servavi
Infinity Helios: 2350(+450)= 2800 / Servavi: 2350(-450)= 1900
Aurea stood up and held her gauntlet up. "Ability Activate, Lunar Barrier!" Servavi had desperately generated a flat, purple, transparent rectangular barrier with her hands and stretched it out to her sides. The rapid-fire attacks had hit, and the barrier started to crack, her power level increased to 2300 while Helios' fell to only 2600
As the barrier was cracking Servavi held it as long as she could, Aurea leaped onto Servavi's shoulder. Once it shattered, she leaped up high, matching the altitude that Helios was hanging from. "Just disappear! All of you! Double Ability: Storm Chaos plus Reversion Fusion Ability – Electron Extension!"
Servavi had her hands covered in black electric bolts, and there was thunder booming in the background. Storm Chaos transferred 300 plus adding a further 900Gs to her power level.
Infinity Helios: 2600(-300)= 2300/ Servavi: 2300(+300 +900)= 3500
Servavi then clasped her hands together and this sent a tremendous white, purple electrical blast in the form of a thick beam with black electrical bolts surrounding it was speeding to Helios.
"Spectra... let's show her my true power!"
"Ask... and you shall receive Helios. Reversion Ability Activate, Ragnarök Apocalypse!" the stomach armor opened and there was a lava aura that was charging from the port before long there was a tremendous discharge of an all-consuming orange, black and red energy blast that was radiating the air around everyone as it shot across the room to Servavi's attack.
Both attacks met in the middle, the screeching of electricity and the roaring of fire were heard as both attacks were trying to beat each other out. Both Aurea and Spectra as well as their Bakugan were letting out battle cries.
Aurea and Servavi could see their attack starting to be pushed back. "No, Servavi!"
Helios chuckled. "This is the end for you!" The beam from Helios' stomach had increased its power and there was a swell in the blast, making a bigger discharge. Afterward, the electric screeching was starting to deafen and Servavi was struggling to keep her attack going.
Infinity Helios: 2300(+750)= 3050 / Servavi: 3500(-750)= 2750
Servavi was left holding back Helios' attack and she said nothing as the attack engulfed both her and Aurea. They both screamed as they both fell hard to the ground, Servavi shone dark purple as she transformed into her ball form and landed beside Aurea.
Helios landed hard on the ground with Spectra landing beside him. "Don't get up if you know what's good for you!" Helios threatened, glaring at Aurea.
"Now, now... she's already beaten. Let's not kick her while she's down."
"That was Awesome!" Jax exclaimed while he gestured at Spectra with stars in his eyes.
"We don't have time to revel in our victory. Aurea and her Bakugan don't look like they are done yet."
Aurea's life gauge fell to 70% but was too fatigued to even continue, though Servavi was feeling different. "On your feet, Aurea!" Servavi said. "We cannot let them escape!"
"HALT!" then Cameron, Garfield, and Spectra saw many Fabregan guards approaching them from behind trying to trap them. They each unleashed a Haos Stinglash, Pyrus Laserman, and a Darkus Robotalion to stop them. "SURRENDER IMMEDIATELY!". Spectra started to chuckle.
"Are you really sure you want to get in my way, right now?"
Helios growled as Energy was charging in his maw. "Do it, I dare you!"
Before they and their Bakugan marched forward, Blazeon was tossed out and Cameron already had a card in between his fingers. "Dragon Firewall!" this made most of the guards back away, and Helios blasted a purple energy beam at the opposing Bakugan instantly defeating them. When Cameron saw the guards were far enough out of range, thanks to Blazeon's firewall, he put his escape plan into action. "Hold on guys!" he tossed a gate card which spread across the wide expanse. "Gate Card, Open! Warp Gate!" when the gate card activated, Spectra, Jax, Cameron, and their Bakugan were engulfed by the light and they were transported from the area.
Once they were gone, Aurea stood up and dusted herself, some guards approached her and saw her beaten and bruised body. "Ma'am would you like us to escort you to-"
"I'm fine!" she insisted. "But we'll need to report this to Yukiko. She will want to know about the resistance she will be facing... that child... Valerie, she's out to stop us..."
They arrived in Unison City, and were right in the middle of the park, eliciting gasps from everyone. After they arrived, there were rapid footsteps speeding toward them.
"Cameron!" Zavanna threw herself at him, nearly flooring him. "I was so worried!"
"H-hey Zavanna."
"Jax and... Spectra..." she could see Spectra and Helios in their Reversion Forms.
Cameron then eyed Spectra he was then shocked to see that he was shivering. There were healing scars in his arm where the Chaos Ability tendrils had dug into him through his gauntlet. "Spectra... are you ok?"
"A flesh wound, now let's go. We shouldn't keep Valerie waiting."
"B-but... how did you go Reversion back there?" Jax asked. "Even though Helios was on Aurea's side."
"Right, let me explain..." Spectra started. "When I was looking into replicating the process of Reversion by creating the Chaos Ability, Reversion X. I learned that not all Bakugan-Battler partnerships can properly synchronize to use the power of Reversion. However, the energy of that bond manifests itself in other ways, like... when you wake up one day and you realize your Bakugan can suddenly talk to you. Somehow hearing and feeling their thoughts. Making moves in battle as if you both share one mind, the creation of a survival aura, allowing the battler to breathe in zero oxygen environments when they are close by. And even the manifestation of Reversion Abilities. My research suggests that all that is linked to Reversion from Bakugan and Battler."
"Wait... but wouldn't that mean with just the right amount of patience. Anyone can be capable of Reversion." Jax questioned.
"You would be right... in theory. But there is always this 'block', and it can be in either the battler or the Bakugan, a mental or physical block, the partnership just isn't right. It can be a myriad of things, even Helios and I had a block... but I created a card to bypass that block – Chaos Reversion X." he smirked to himself. "You could say I... cheated in a way. Hngh!" Spectra started coughing rapidly that he had leaned on Cameron to support him.
"Spectra!" Cameron and Helios exclaimed.
"We've got to get him medical help as soon as possible!" Cameron said while Jax supported Spectra's opposite arm.
Zavanna stood by Cameron. "W-what happened to him...?"
"I think based on what he just said... H-he forced a Reversion Form with him and Helios... And I think it's hurting him!" Once his coughing subsided, they could see blood on his hands. Afterward, Valkyrie guards were meeting up with them.
He started to revert to his base form, and so did Helios before he compressed to his ball form, and hovered beside Spectra.
With the help of some guards, they started to escort Spectra to the nearest hospital, no doubt they would also inform Mira of what happened. Zavanna then eyed Cameron's wound. "C-Cameron? What..." she saw him giving her his trademark smile.
"I'm ok... just need to have it bandaged a bit... it still hurts like hell... Ow!" Zavanna gasped but Cameron held his nerve and tried to keep his smile. "But something is bothering me... in that battle with Aurea..." he thought back to when he was in his Reversion form fighting against Aurea... then seeing how strong Helios and Spectra were from their first Reversion transformation. "Blazeon and I aren't strong enough..." he thought to himself and he looked to Zavanna and saw her worried expression. "Haha, don't worry about it, I just need some rest and for my wounds to recover... Then I'll be right as rain." As he said this, Draconoid hummed to herself as she stood on Zavanna's shoulder.
"Hey!" Blazeon got hovered close to Helios who was lagging. "You doing, ok?"
"This is none of your concern, Dragonoid! I do not require your sympathy! Should something happen to Spectra, those damn Fabregans will pay! There will be no one to stop my wrath!" he hovered past Blazeon, but not before saying: "Not even you! This is your only warning! Do NOT get in my way!" he hovered past him.
Blazeon grumbled to himself. "Sheesh..." he followed after the entire group.
A few hours later, Yukiko was humming to herself while swinging her legs and lying on her back on her royal bed. "Seriously!? The deadline is almost here and we've gotten no responses yet?"
Kyubis turned to her. "I do not know what is going through their minds. But from looking through the research on humans, they are very resistant to change. But given our plight, surely, they should consider our proposal."
Before long one of the Fabregan technicians contacted her on her screen within the room. "Miss Yukiko!" a younger male was on the screen and he had round-shaped glasses. "We got a response from the United Nations of Earth." Yukiko immediately sat up to listen.
"Ah finally! What did they say?"
"Well... I'll just put it on the screen."
Yukiko read the response to herself, silently.
...
Greetings, Yukiko Ravenwind.
We of the United Nations have come to consider your ultimatum.
Despite your ideologies and any information regarding Earth. We unfortunately do not have a say in all of the governments that can respond to your proposition.
Though we empathize with your plight and your people greatly, we cannot, and will not, allow your people to seek refuge on our planet. Unfortunately, we do not have the world resources to accommodate your species. Not to mention how your existence here would affect our world economy as well as our global politics.
We have seen your request and subsequent actions as an act of global terrorism. You have already displayed the ability to abduct control of our technology and we, the United Nations, cannot ignore this action when in the hands of foreign entities under our jurisdiction's conduct.
Regarding the subject of 'Bakugan', it is a children's card game here. Wherever your information on the subject came from was misinformed and of no relevance to the ultimatum. Regardless, the countries of the world will take action should your threat come to pass.
By the order of the United Nations' anti-terrorism act, you are to leave our atmosphere. The security council has voted to agree to engage intercontinental ballistic missiles at your craft should you not listen to our request to vacate. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and for the lives on your hands. However, please understand that the life and value of the human race come first.
You have 12 hours to vacate our atmosphere, or we will consider a proposal to attack.
- United Nations General Assembly
...
After Yukiko read the response, her expression appeared to show her being quite agitated. While she was more than prepared to escalate the situation, she truly hoped she could talk out a solution face-to-face. But it appeared they aren't even considering discussion at this point and have labeled her an International Terrorist. But what also brought her attention was the fact that the subject of Bakugan showed no relevance.
"Yukiko? Are you all, right?" Kyubis asked.
After a long bout of silence, Yukiko finally responded with a tired sigh. "So, they 'can't control their governments', yet they send me this?! The 'United Nations' sound about as useful as a sloth in a heatwave. If they are just willing to brush us off with the threat of their nuclear weapons? They've got another thing coming!"
She immediately left her room, her playful demeanor leaving with her as she was taking a brisk walk to the bridge. "I don't need twelve hours to make a decision!" she arrived at the bridge and took a seat on the main chair.
"The UN main headquarters! Where is it?" Yukiko sternly questioned. The many technicians and personnel on the bridge looked at each other curiously and came to the assumption that negotiations didn't go well.
"Somewhere called 'New York', ma'am. I can have that information to you within a few minutes."
"Give to me in 3 and you get a promotion!" It wasn't long before she got another transmission, this one being from Queen Rena who appeared on screen and she mirrored Yukiko's agitated expression. "My Queen?"
"Sorry to bother you, things must be stressful at the moment."
Yukiko bowed to her. "Not at all, though I am hoping for some good news." she saw that Rena's expression was one of disappointment, and she shook her head. "What happened?"
"Two incidents... One where I tried to invite Andreas over to our side, he rudely declined, and while we almost captured him. He was rescued by her." There was a picture taken and the camera feed showed Akira in her Reversion Form. "Andreas slipped through our fingers. But that's not even the worst part." the picture then showed Spectra in his Reversion Form. "Spectra has reunited with Helios, and had help." The next picture showed Cameron in his Reversion form with Jax at his side. "But what's even more significant... One of our own is helping them." she showed a picture of Valerie's warship leaving Neathia.
"Valerie..." Yukiko muttered. "Thank you for bringing all this to my attention. Our next operation will begin. I will contact you shortly." the screen shut off and Yukiko took a deep, frustrated sigh, resting her fist on her forehead.
She tilted her head down, bangs hiding her dark expression. "First Andreas rejects us, Earth decides to make things difficult, and now someone else from the old Royal Family is sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. So, it is up to me. I cannot lose, for the sake and survival of our races!" She looked up from the bridge directly at Earth. "No doubt if we make a move now, they will fire on us. So... a distraction is needed." The hands on her warship listened closely. "They brought this on themselves. Send this message to all High Council units and factions. And to all our Fabregan and Alursian citizens. They will want to hear this."
Yukiko stood up, her hair flinging in the low gravity environment as the technicians recorded her voice to be heard on all Fabregan channels.
"Greetings all, this is Yuikiko Ravenwind. Negotiations have failed and Earth's leaders have decided to leave us out in the cold, so it's time to take the situation into our own hands..."
Queen Rena sat in her warship as it was traveling through dimensional space while the broadcast played and many new recruits, some of them being Alursian, were receiving their Bakugan. "...For the sake of our survival, we will need to clear some space on Earth... but to do that, we need to remove the powers that intend to keep us away."
Valerie sat in her office and narrowed her eyes into an angered glare while her helper Oscar couldn't help but be concerned with the message that was being broadcast "I ask that everyone lend me your ears, and your strength for one last fight." At the same time, Aurea heard the broadcast as she was being tended to in the infirmary.
Daro was sat in a dark room, gazing at a computer screen that read 'Cybertross MK3' "Hopefully, this is the last fight we must involve ourselves in, but it will be the first fight, where Fabregans and Alursians will fight together for our survival." Akira could be seen mimicking sword movements with Hanami behind her, when hearing Yukiko, she stopped immediately and looked upward while being deep in thought.
Yukiko paused before continuing and she looked forward at the blue sphere that would provide salvation. "It is with a heavy heart... but renewed determination that I hereby announce – Operation: Awaken Earth!"
Thanks for reading the latest chapter, and also a tremendous shoutout to my good friend Insane Dominator for helping out in particular with Yukiko's speech and the various reactions and fallout afterward, as well as coming up with the scene for Zavanna's family meeting Cameron. Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next update.
