That is the last of Gary's planned appearances, he is in Sinnoh doing his own thing and this is the last story I have planned for this grouping.

"Attention please, we will now be docking at One Island for six hours to refuel and restock." An announcement went over the cruisers p.a. "You are free to go about the island as you wish, but if you fail to return in time we will not be able to wait."

"How about it guys, want to go do some exploring?" Brendan asked.

"As long as we're back in time, I really don't feel like being stuck here." Ash commented. "We don't exactly have a way across the water on our own."

"Look, I set a timer for five hours, so we'll have plenty of time." Wally assured. "Come on I read that this island has the largest Pokemon Center in all of Kanto."

"Why do you think that is?" Brendan asked.

"And why is that a selling point to visit here?" Ash questioned.

Inside the massive Pokemon Center

"This is a Pokemon Center?!" Ash said in shock at the multiple floors and several stores.

"Yes hello, and welcome." An attendant said. "This entire building is listed under the Pokemon Center."

"But I thought Pokemon Centers had to provide free services to trainers to count for that?" Wally asked.

"Yes, everything you see here is non profit." The attendant said. "Every shop is specially suited to fit a trainers any need, from equipment, to food, to even the storage system."

"I thought there was a storage system at every Pokemon center?" Brendan asked.

"Yes, every Pokemon Center is equipped with a storage and transfer system, but this Pokemon Center links Kanto to Johto, Hoenn, Ore, Sinnoh, and the Orange Islands." The attendant said.

"Are we allowed to check that out?" Ash asked. "It sounds cool!"

"I mean it's not much to look at, but it is free to view to the general public. Just take those stairs there down, and it'll be on the basement floor." The attendant said, pointing to a staircase.

"Come on, let's check it out." Ash commented.

In the basement

"I'm just not sure Celio, we may need to reroute the system back to my place until we can get a team out there." A man said.

"We can't wait that long, there will be an outrage if this stays down for much longer!" Another man exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, but we aren't much of any battlers, so until we can get a team up to the satelite array, we don't have many options." The first man said.

"What if we asked some of the trainers here on the island?" The second man asked.

"Them? They wouldn't know a semi conductor from a circuit breaker!" The first man responded.

"Umm, is everything okay?" Ash asked.

"Yeow!" The first man yelped, rubbing his head. "Sorry, I didn't think anyone else was here. And no, I'm sorry but the regional transfer system is going to be down for a while unfortunately."

"What if we helped?" Wally asked. "We could get one of you there to fix it."

"That mighty nice of you, but I can't ask that of strangers." The man said turning around. "Hold on, is that you Ash?"

"Umm, yeah? Do I know you?" Ash asked.

"Bill! You helped me out of my Kabuto costume and used my phone to call Professor Oak about your Krabby!" Bill said. "What are you doing here?"

"We're on our way to Metallica Island and had a quick pitstop here." Brendan commented. "Why were you in a Kabuto costume?"

"For research purposes." Bill said. "Ash, look can I get your help with something?"

"I mean sure, but we aren't exactly experts on this." Ash admitted.

"Don't need to be. Here, it's a Pokegear from Johto, they double as phones." Bill said. "If you can get to the top of the mountain, you should be able to find out why the satelite isn't working. Once you're there call me, and I can walk you through the steps." Bill said.

"Okay, but we're on a bit of time crunch." Ash said.

"Don't worry I'll have you done and back in two licks of a whistle." Bill said.

An hour later

"Marshtomp use Ice Beam!"

"Milotic use Ice Beam!"

The two water types shot out their attacks, extending the makeshift ice bridge a few more feet.

"Next time, I say we stay on the boat." Wally groaned.

"That was my idea." Ash commented. "Milotic use Ice Beam!"

"Just stay calm, we're almost there, and soon enough this will all be over." Brendan said. "Marshtomp use Ice Beam!"

A few minutes later, the group finally reached the far island.

"Bill do you hear me?" Ash asked over the Pokegear.

"Loud and clear, have you made it to the island?" Bill shouted.

"Yeah, we're here, where's the station?" Brendan asked.

"Top of the mountain." Bill shouted. "You can't miss it, call me once you're there."

"We agreed to help, so let's do that and head back quickly." Ash said.

Inside the mountain

"Are you sure this is a good idea?!" Jessie barked.

"Trust me, the red orb is damaged, the only way to restore it is in Groudon's natural element." Team Rocket's new ally said.

"And how do you propose we get it out?" Jessie demanded.

"I'm not the walking statue." The ally said with a laugh. "That is Regirock right?" She asked, poking Jessie's arm. "Just dive in there and get it."

"I'm still human! That will kill me!" Jessie said angrily.

Elsewhere

"Jeez, and I thought one of them was bad enough." Meowth commented, covering his microphone.

"Just be glad we can't endure those smoldering temperatures." James said. "Or else we'd be the ones going in."

Back inside the mountain

"Fine give me the Red Orb and I'll take it into the lava." Jessie demanded.

"Like I'm that stupid. You'll only get it once I know you can't escape with it." The figure said. "Now I'll throw it in, and then you can go fetch it." The figure said, tossing the red orb in.

Back on the mountain

"Gah!" Ash cried out, holding his head.

"Ash! Are you okay?" Brendan asked.

"I think so, it just felt like I was incredible pain." Ash groaned.

"Are you okay to keep going?" Wally asked worriedly.

"Yeah, it's passed." Ash said, straightening back up. "I think I see the satellite up ahead, let's get this done with it."

"Hey guys, I think I see the problem." Wally said, pointing at the satellite.

"What is that?" Brendan asked.

"Moltres?" Ash asked in shock. "What is it doing up here?"

"Ash, what do we do?" Wally asked.

"Scare it off, but don't damage the satellite." Ash said. "Swablu get it's attention with Peck!"

Swablu raced forward towards Moltres, only for the larger bird to cry out, causing Swablu to stop.

"What's going on?" Brendan asked.

"I don't have all the answers." Ash admitted. "Bill, we have a problem." Ash said into the Pokegear.

"What's the issue?" Bill shouted.

"It's Moltres, its on the satellite." Ash responded. "And we can't attack without damaging it."

"Well, figure something out!" Bill shouted.

"Wait, I've got it! Rhyperior use Rock Blast! Aim high!" Brendan called out.

Rhyperior came out of his Pokeball, landing on the ground with a thud, only for Moltres to let out a cry once more, causing Rhyperior to go into a calm state, as well as Pikachu.

"Rhyperior why aren't you attacking!" Brendan said worridley.

"Pika Pi, Pikachu PIka Pika Pipipi." Pikachu said to Ash.

"Did you get any of that?" Wally asked.

"Mostly context clues, but it seems Moltres is here because they're worried." Ash said.

"Its a mountain, what is there to worry about?" Brendan asked.

Back inside the mountain

"There! Are you happy!" Jessie exclaimed, having retrieved the red orb.

"Impressed more than anything." The figure responded, seeing Jessie's human part still in perfect condition. "But it didn't work, the red orb isn't restored."

"You're crazy if you think I'm jumping back in there!" Jessie exclaimed.

"No, it should have worked, Master Maxie's notes said lava could restore the power." The figure said.

"Then what happened!?" Jessie argued.

"Relax, if the problem isn't the stone, then the boy must have done something to it." The figure said.

"So where do we find him?!" Jessie asked.

"You said you were the experts on this, you tell me." The figure said.

"Hey Jessie." James said over the radio. "You won't believe what we are seeing."

Back at the peak

"Craaa!" Moltres cried out, rising into the air, shooting out flames into the distance.

"Won't work!" Meowth taunted. "This one's Pokeproofed! Straight from the boss."

"Team Rocket!" Ash exclaimed.

"What are they doing here?" Wally asked.

"No time to deal with that, they must be the problem. Rhyperior use Rock Blast!" Brendan called out.

"Swablu use Heat Wave and Dragon Pulse! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

"Flygon come on out and use Dragon Breath!"

The attacks combined with Moltres's flames seemed to do a level of damage to Team Rocket's ship, but suddenly a Pokemon phased out of it.

"What is that thing?!" Wally said in shock.

'Dusknoir, the Gripper Pokemon, a ghost type and the evolved form of Dusclops. It is said to take lost spirits into its pliant body and guide them home.' Wally's Pokedex said.

"Oh, that sounds friendly." Wally said. "Nope nevermind! Flygon return!" Wally said, as Dusknoir punched Flygon, freezing it in a block of ice instantly.

"Swablu circle around and pick up Pikachu!" Ash called out.

"Not so fast twerp!" Jessie said, climbing up the side of the mountain.

"Oh you even call him that, cute." The figure said.

"Jessie! And Diane?" Ash said in confusion. "I thought you were arrested."

"I broke free, and now I'll break you!" Diane said, her hand turning into a scythe.

"Aggron stop her!" Brendan called out, as the steel type easily stopped the scythe.

"Try stopping this!" Jessie said, pointing her arm out and freezing Rhyperior and Aggron with ease.

"What happened to you?" Brendan said in shock.

"I've gotten some new powers, that will end this easily." Jessie said, freezing the trainers in place. "James keep Moltres off us."

"What do you want with us!" Wally shouted.

"We don't need you, only him." Diane said, running the scythe against Ash's cheek. "You became one with the red orb, and in doing so, took its power. I'm here to take it back."

"You're too late!" Brendan shouted.

"What do you mean by that magic boy?!" Diane said angrily, quickly pointing the tip of the scythe against Brendan's throat.

"I destroyed the powers." Ash said. "In the tree of life."

"Likely story!" Diane said, pushing the blade against Brendan's neck even farther.

"No, something is wrong." Jessie said. "The twerp is many things, but he's a terrible liar."

"So they're gone?!" Diane screamed. "Team Magma is ruined!"

"No, that kind of power isn't destroyed, we just have to find it again." Jessie said. "Let's go these twerps are useless to us."

"I say we take them out here and now." Diane said, only to be blasted by flames. "I thought tweedle dumb and tweedle idiot were taking care of the giant chicken!"

"Hey we can hear you, and you try fighting a legendary while in an airship, its hard." James whined.

"No matter, they can't stop us now." Jessie said, slamming her fists onto the ground. "Let's go."

Jessie and Diane grabbed onto a rope ladder as the airship took off, leaving our heroes stuck on the mountain top.

"Guys, we have a problem!" Wally cried out, as lava began rising.

"Swablu use Heat Wave!" Ash called out.

The lava encroached slowly as the trio was freed from their icy prisons.

"We need to move now!" Ash shouted, summoning four aura tendrils, one picking up Wally, another picking up Brendan, as the others launched them towards the water.

"Wait, Rhyperior and Aggron return!" Brendan called out, as he was lifted away.

Authors note

This is the villain attack arc, alongside going over the storyline of the postgame of FireRed and LeafGreen. Not much else to that, just figured I'd let you all know.
