They're back! Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster!

"Shawn! Slow down!" Mercedes shouted as the little boy ran ahead of her. She shook her head, quickly catching up to him and grabbing his little hand.

Shawn frowned, trying to pull away but she just tightened her grip. "Mommy, let go!"

Mercedes grabbed his other hand and kneeled down in front of him. "No, and you have to stop running off like that, mommy can't keep up right now." She said, brushing his curls from his face.

He looked so much like his daddy but his mischievous brown eyes were all her. She smiled down at his innocent face which was still scrunched up in a frown.

"Why come?" He asked.

She giggled. "Reasons, now come on so we can surprise daddy at work." She answered and that seemed to satisfy the little boy.

He held on tightly to his mother's fingers as they entered Sam's building. She smiled at the front desk clerk as she approached.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Evans, hi there handsome!" She said as Shawn ran around her desk and gave her a big hug.

"Mommy can't keep up cause I'm fast." He blurted out and Mercedes snickered.

The clerk smirked. "I bet you're faster than the Flash huh?"

Shawn nodded. "Yeah! Watch!" He exclaimed before running from her desk to the elevators and back breathing heavily. "SEE!"

The clerk laughed. "You're faster than the speed of light!"

Shawn blushed, running over to his mother and hugging her leg. "Is he in?" Mercedes asked, shaking her head at her son's new found bashfulness.

"Yes, ma'am and I'm more than sure he'll be happy to see you two. Today's been… a rough day."

Mercedes smirked. "Even more reason to ruin his day." She joked, walking over to the elevator.

She started to press the button but Shawn quickly swiped her hand away and pressed every button but the right one.

"I did it!" He said, clearly proud of himself and she just smiled, pressing the correct button.

"Are you excited about spending Thanksgiving with the family?" She asked and he nodded.

"Uncle Jason gon' tell me how to fly." He said proudly.

"Uncle Jason better not let you get hurt or he will have to deal with mommy."

The doors opened and Mercedes took Shawns hand smiling as she passed a few of the people in the office. She picked Shawn up and lifted his hand.

"Knock on Daddy's door." She encouraged.

"Knock knock, daddy it's me!"

The door opened and they were both met by Sam's bright smile. "Well isn't the handsomest boy ever!" He said as Shawn jumped from Mercedes' arms into his.

"Daddy guess what!"

"What's up?" Sam asked, tickling him.

"I am fastest than the flash!" He beamed proudly, laughing in his dad's arms.

"Oh really now? Can you outrun you old man?" Sam teased, leaning over and kissing Mercedes.

"Uh huh!" Shawn said.

Mercedes smiled leaning into Sam. "How are you doing today daddy? Working hard?"

Sam smirked. "Mmm, keep calling me daddy and find out." He teased.

Mercedes giggled, shaking her head. "Boy you are at work! Be good!"

Sam smirked. "Hey Marley, can you do me a favor, I need to speak to Mercedes for a minute, can you take Shawn to the break room and give him his snacks?"

Marley smiled. "Of course! Come on lil buddy, you can show me how fast you are."

Mercedes kissed Shawn's forehead as he climbed down Sam and ran off with Marley.

Mercedes turned towards him. "You needed to talk?"

Sam nodded, pulling her closer as he closed the door and pushed her against it. "Yes I need to have a very serious conversation with you."

Mercedes nodded. "Okay about what?"

He nipped at her lips. "It's been far too long since I have had a taste of my favorite treat."

Her head fell back as he kissed a trail down her neck to her collarbone. She tilted her head allowing him more access, moaning when he gently bit her neck.

"Sam… you know that boy's attention span is tiny…" She whimpered, feeling herself sinking.

Sam ran his hands down her body and under her dress, caressing her thighs. "He's eating and running. I am sure we have time… I want you Merce.." He took her hand placing it on his shaft. "Would you really deny me?"

"Deny you? We literally had sex last night, you remember, you came to bed, pressed against me and then…"

Sam smirked. "Mmmm I need a reminder." He said his hand grazing her thighs.

She swallowed as her breathing hitched. "We haven't had sex in your office in a while… I might not be able to be quiet."

Sam kissed his trail up her throat. "I am willing to take the risk baby."

Mercedes stared at him. "Mmm I know you are…you've been taking a few risks lately."

Sam raised an eyebrow as he lifted her thighs to wrap around him. "And what exactly does that mean?"

She bit her lip, wrapping her arms around his neck. "We haven't been safe and I've been craving pie." She replied and he just looked at her confused.

"Baby, you love pie. I'm not sure what you're getting at but if you're not interested I can stop." He replied, nipping at her lips, hoping like hell she didn't want him to stop.

Mercedes sighed, kissing him back. "I know but I didn't used to love pie this much, Sam. Like breakfast, lunch and noon. Tina kicked me out the bakery yesterday for eating ore than baking…"

"Merce if this is you wanting to fire Tina, all I'm gonna say is she's the third best thing that happened to you. Me being the first and Shawn being the second. Now we don't have much longer."

Mercedes wrapped her thighs tighter around him. "If that's your logic then Tina is about to be the fourth or fifth at this point."

Sam furrowed his brows. "We can't adopt Stevie and Stace… I already asked." He said and she laughed knowing he was serious.

"It's not adoption if they come from us…" She replied

Sam shook his head. "Okay all the blood is misplaced right now so you might have to spell this out for me baby."

She laughed. "Baby is the right word… well babies."

"Babies?" Sam asked, looking at her for a long moment. "Mercedes?"

"As in multiples, yes" She replied, looking at him to see his reaction. "We did want more right?"

Sam froze for a while before stepping back and putting her down. "Wow…" He breathed.

She shifted, nervously. "I know we had a plan for more and we have been careful but that night we-" She said trailing off.

"Twins?" He asked, running his hand through his hair. "Like from us?"

She nodded, reaching into her purse and pulling out a sonogram. "Color me surprised when I go in for a check up and I come out learning that we are expecting…I told her I was cramping, she asked if I wanted to see them and I freaked out on her thinking I could have a cyst again or something." She rambled hoping he wasn't mad. "Are you angry?"

Sam let out a breath, shaking his head. "We're gonna have two babies?" He asked again and this time she saw the happiness in his eyes.

She nodded, smiling. "We're having two babies."

"Oh…" he said, placing his hands on her stomach. "You're giving me two more of you?" He said, still processing but very excited.

"Hell of a time to find out right?" She laughed. "I knew it was a possibility because of your family history but is it really surreal? We are having twins!"

Sam stood pulling her close to him, kissing her passionately. "I love you, I love this. I… oh baby we are having twins!"

She smiled brightly. "Think Shawn's going to be happy? He won't be the center of our worlds anymore…"

"I think he's going to be the best big brother and he has no problem demanding attention." Sam replied with a light chuckle. "I'm more concerned about our mothers…"

Mercedes nodded. "Yeah…maybe we just don't tell them?" She teased. "We can just have me wear baggy clothes, go off into hiding when they are due and then come back like ta da?"

Sam snorted. "Honey, you and I both know they can smell babies. It's their superpower. You know she called me the other day saying she and your mom both had a dream of fish. Now color me surprised because I had no idea that dreaming of fish meant babies."

Mercedes shook her head. "Its an old wives tale that has been in my family for generations, now she done recruited your mom…"

"That's no help, what exactly does dreaming of fish have to do with babies and why does my mom think she can do it?"

Mercedes laughed. "Okay this is how my mom explained to me, back before people took pregnancy tests and things, there was an old wives tale or proverb that said when you dreamed of fish that either meant someone was pregnant or someone unexpected was due to arrive. Now they coincide because think of it, who is more unexpected than a baby. Fish symbolize water and birth and all that. I used to think it was nonsense I mean she wasn't wrong…"

"So our mom's are psychic? Great."

Mercedes kissed him. "No it just means that they were right in this instance."

Sam kissed her forehead. "You know what I am glad they did then because I couldn't be happier, and you are going to be the best mom of three."

There was a knock on the door and Sam opened it, smiling when Shawn ran in.

"Mr. Evans, your one o'clock is here." Marley said smiling. "Shawn helped me get organized. I think you have another creative mind on your hands."

Mercedes sighed. "I guess I better let you get back to work Mr. Evans."

Sam nipped her bottom lip. "Actually, Marley if you don't mind rescheduling. I just found out some amazing news and I'm going to take them out to celebrate." Sam said, smiling.

Marley looked at him amused. "Do you need me to keep Shawn?" She asked, earning a laugh from Mercedes.

"Not this time… well not now at least." He replied, pulling away and picking up Shawn. "But for now, it's a family celebration."

"Oh and what are we celebrating?" Marley asked happily.

Mercedes smirked. "You'll find out soon enough."

"I am telling you Mary, it's one of ours, between Eric, Jason, Mercedes and Sam, and Marcus, one of them are expecting and the fact that we both had fish dreams means either its twins, or its someone from both of our families." Farrah beamed.

"Well if that's the case it has to be Sam and Mercedes. Or maybe it's all of them. I have been having a feeling ever since Eric and Marcus randomly stopped by acting strange."

Mary nodded. "Jason has been seeing that girl… she's been around for awhile now."

"We like her right?" Farrah asked as she moved around the kitchen. "Is he bringing her to dinner this year? I know Eric and his fiancee are coming but Marcus I never know with that one."

"We… tolerate her yes. She's a mousey little thing. I hate to say this but if Sam hadn't gotten his shit together, I was going to send Jason after Mercedes." Mary said, shaking her head.

"They would have made a cute couple but we all know Sam would not have let that happen. They were meant for each other from the very first moment they met. I mean they made us throw them that wedding when they were in Kindergarten. Sam said he wanted everyone to know she was his…" Farrah smiled. "They just had to figure it out on their own.

Mary smiled, fondly. "Well if you would've had another daughter I wouldn't be forced to like the one my son is… sleeping with? Dating? He refuses to tell me if they're together or not but I think she's pregnant."

"Look, we were lucky to get Merce! I tried for another girl and got Eric and I decided I was done. I was not taking another chance at three boys."

"Be glad you stopped. I wanted a girl so we tried and I got twins. Dwight tried to convince me to try again. I almost hit him over the head. Men don't get how our bodies change with each child. Hell, how our bodies change in general."

Farrah moved to the oven to baste the turkey. "All I know is someone is gonna spill the beans and we are gonna celebrate. Heaven help Sam if it's Mercy though, even though he is her husband you know Michael still doesn't wanna admit that Sam and Merce are together. He told me Shawn was a divine miracle." she giggled. "It was a miracle all right."

Mary laughed. "If it is Mercy, I feel sorry for her because that son of mine is like his father. He loved seeing me pregnant and I have a feeling that he's going to try to keep her that way for a while."

Farrah sighed. "I pray they're able to handle this because both of them are stubborn and hell bent on always being right."

"That and with both of their jobs going so well, it's going to be easy for them to get into a rut and that's no good for anyone."

"Then it's decided! We will force them to move here while she's pregnant and we will be the village they need so they don't get into that rut and my husband can finally accept that she's a grown woman." Farrah declared.

"And with us next door they will have all of us in their corner, it's logical and makes the most sense. I love it." Mary nodded as she finished shucking the corn.

"I think we could even get them to just let Shawn stay with us and we can have him go back and forth between our places so they have a break and when the baby or babies get here we can each get one."

"Dwight and Michael keep going on and on about a project, I am sure we can convert the basement into a mini suite for them…this is perfect. I think we can have the plans drawn up Monday."

Farrah nodded. "We need to go shopping. I don't have any baby things here… they were so stingy with Shawn so we gotta have everything before they get here."

"Seriously I am still mad they had us kicked out of the delivery room. It was not our fault Dwight and Michael kept taking photos and videos. If it wasn't for the fact that Shawn came out so adorably I would have complained. This time we need to stop her before she stops us." Mary added.

"Kicking me out of the room like I didn't birth her…" Farrah muttered, angrily

Michael walked in with Dwight on his tail and kissed Farrah as he snuck a spoonful of mac and cheese. "Mmmm."

"Michael you better stop! We can't afford to have you eat all our food before dinner."

"I am the official taste tester. It's law I get to sample it all."

Mary popped his hand. "Not today, we have far too many people coming tonight and we need every bit of food. So no tasting this year."

Michael frowned. "It's the same amount of people as always…"

Farrah and Mary shared glances. "We have a feeling there will be a few… additions this year and more to feed." His wife said and he shot her a look.

"What are you two hiding?" He asked, trying to sneak some pineapple but Mary popped his hand again.

"Nothing, now go help Dwight with the turkey." Farrah replied shooing him along.

"I HATE YOU!" They heard coming from the living room. They both shook their heads.

"Seems our children have arrived." Mary said.

"You could've let me park there! I do have your nephew with me!" Mercedes spat.

"Eh, Shawn's walking now so no dice sis." Eric taunted. "Besides, why didn't you ride with Sam?"

The women's ears perked up at that information and inched closer to the entrance of the kitchen, smiling when they were met by each of their kids faces.

"Because he was getting on my nerves so I left." Mercedes replied, storming pass her brother and walking straight up to the women. "Here, he insists on acting like his father so you deal with him." She said, handing a fussy Shawn to Mary.

"Well hello sunshine, how are you? So good to see you." Farrah teased, earning a frown her daughter.

"I'm tired and hungry and my husband is an idiot. I'm going to my room and never coming out again." She answered before kissing Shawn on the cheek then storming upstairs.

"Mommy left daddy…" Shawn said and Mary laughed.

"I'm sure your daddy is just fine and will be here soon."

Shawn crossed his arms over his chest, frowning. "Mommy is mean."

"She sure is lil man." Eric said, ruffling his curly locks.

Farrah smacked his arms. "Don't you start that!" She hissed. "Shawn, why is mommy mean?"

The little boy huffed. "Cause daddy said yes and mommy got mad."

Both women looked at him confused. "Said yes to what?" Mary asked.

"Ice cream and panacakes."

Farrah shook her head. "So mommy said you couldn't have ice cream and pancakes but your daddy said you could?"

Shawn nodded. "Mhm, then mommy shouted and then daddy laughed and then mommy left daddy."

Farrah snickered. "Ohhh… okay so you're upset that she didn't let you have sweets for breakfast. That doesn't make her mean baby, besides we have all this yummy food here for you to eat."

The little boy furrowed his brows. "But… daddy said yes!"

Mary placed him down and sighed. "Well as your grandmothers we're saying no and that trumps whatever your father said."

"WHERE IS SHE?" Sam shouted as he burst through the door.

"DADDY!" Shawn said running over to his dad and hugging his leg. Sam smiled looking down at his son.

"Hey buddy! Did that evil woman take you away?" He joked.

"No, mommy did."

"Evil woman? Is that how you talk about me when I am not around!" Mercedes scolded.

Sam turned and threw his hands up. "I was joking Mercedes, you know me better than that."

"Do I! Ice Cream for breakfast Sam? Really? Is that how we are gonna raise our children! I tell them no and you "joke" that I am an evil woman!"

Mary looked at Sam. "Is everything okay with you two?"

"Everything is fine mom, she's just…upset is all."

"OHHHH, upset is an understatement you… stupid jerk!" Mercedes said, getting choked up. "Ugh I hate your stupid face an you!"

"Mommy's saying bad words." Shawn said, trying to whisper.

Sam looked at their son. "You're not helping bud…" He said jokingly. "Mercedes maybe… it was wrong to tell him yes after you said no but I had a legit reason and if you will let me I can explain it… in private."

"Oh we are never talking in private again Evans!" She said brushing past him and walking towards the kitchen.

Farrah and Mary looked on in amusement. "You might want to go after her." Farrah suggested.

Sam shook his head. "Nope, there's knives and hot grease in there. I'm going to take Shawn outside with the guys… I LOVE YOU MERCEDES EVANS!" He said, quickly giving both women a kiss on the cheek before escaping with Shawn.

Farrah and Mary looked after them for a moment before walking to the kitchen and standing back as they watched Mercedes tearfully take a fork to the mac and cheese.

"Sweetie? Are you okay?" Farrah asked.

Mercedes looked at her mother. "I'm perfectly fine, why?" She asked sniffling.

Mary stepped closer to her. "Well you are eating in tears honey."

"Well forgive me for saying this but your son is an asshole and I hate him but I can't say that because I'm his wife and we have a kid…" Mercedes replied, taking another scoop of mac and cheese.

Farrah tried to stifle her laugh. "Oh sweetie, you can absolutely say that but you can't ignore him if he's willing to explain. How about you tell us what happened to get to this point?"

Mercedes sighed. "Okay, so we're doing our normal morning routine and Shawn asks for ice cream and pancakes. I tell him no we can have pancakes but no ice cream. He screams, has a full blown tantrum which is odd because he never does this… not to me at least. Then I come downstairs and what do I see? Sam getting the ice cream down and I'm just like no!" She explained, moving from the mac and cheese to the pies.

Mary nodded. "Okay, and what did Sam say?"

Mercedes shot her a knowing look before stabbing her fork into the sweet potato pie. "I don't see the big issue, it's just frozen dairy. He'll run it off later." She answered, impersonating Sam's voice. She lifted the fork and took a bite, groaning and relaxing slightly. "Now, I have to be the big bad wolf and ruin my child's morning… again."

"Ahh… so you then got dressed and grabbed said child and left?" Farrah asked, watching as her daughter absently kept eating more pie.

"No, I told him that if he kept telling him yes after I said no that Shawn would keep asking him for things he knows he can't have and you know what he did? Do you know what your child did, Mary?"

Mary snickered. "Nooo, tell me what my child did."

"He laughed at me… in my face! He really stopped and laughed like I was some comedian." Mercedes answered dramatically, moving over to the pecan pie and taking a huge chunk before her mother quickly moved it away.

"Then you left?" Mary asked and Mercedes frowned.

"No." She said under her breath. "No, I did something far worse…"

"And that was?" Farrah asked, moving the other pies out of her reach when she saw her fork going for them. "We need those for dessert!"

"We don't have to have them all!" Mercedes protested.

"Finish the story." Mary said, pushing the apple pie over to her, earning a look from Farrah. "No one eats that pie but Sam."

"Bastard." Mercedes muttered, digging into the pie and taking several bites before putting her fork down. "I slept with him." Both women shared looks before laughing. "I know, I'm weak!"

"No honey!" Mary said in between laughs. "It's okay to want angry sex but that still doesn't explain why you left him."

"Well, after said sex he had the nerve… the NERVE to ask me if I was baking for today."

"That jerk!" Mary scolded through giggles.

Mercedes stared at them for a moment cutting her eyes at them. "Do I amuse you ladies? Is my torment enjoyable?"

Farrah moved to her and turned her. "Baby girl, we have all fallen victims to jerks. Your father did the same thing when I was pregnant with you, it wasn't enough that I was pregnant and tired, no he wanted to know if I was making dessert to take over his mom's literally asked not even 30 seconds after we finished."

"And that boy gets his brains from his daddy, Dwight had the nerve to tell me he volunteered me to make a ham for his family while I was pregnant with the twins after he pissed me off, seduced me and we were done. Men live to piss us off honey, but you can't let that anger control you."

Mercedes stabbed at the pie. "I am gonna eat this whole thing just to spite his ass." She said taking another bite and letting off a soft moan. "That and because for some reason this apple pie is better than the one I make at the bakery."

Farrah looked at Mary and then back at Mercedes. "You know you want to forgive him darlin, but may I suggest, making him pay first. I mean he needs to realize that you are his partner, he is supposed to work with you not against you."

Mercedes took another bite of pie, picking it up and moving to the table sitting. "Okay but how do I get back at him?"

"You are a woman, I am sure you can figure it out." Farrah said, grabbing her daughter a glass of milk and handing it to her. "Are you okay now? Feeling better?"

Mercedes looked at the milk in her mom's hand and took it with a small smile. "I'm a lil-"

"Hey family! Guess whos' here?! And I brought Alicia who made green bean casserole." Marcus said, walking into the kitchen.

"Ugh just when I was feeling better." Mercedes teased.

Marcus reached for her pie but she slapped his hand away. "No! My pie!"

"Mom tell her to share!"

"Marcus I swear I will bite your damn finger off!" Mercedes growled as he reached again.

"Damn Merce, stop being greedy as hell."

"I'm not being greedy, asshole!" She spat, getting choked up.

Alicia walked to the table next to Mercedes and put down her casserole. "I hope ya'll like it, it's homemade."

Mercedes looked over to Alicia, getting a whiff of the casserole. "Oh my God!" She yelped, jumping up and running to the bathroom.

"Mercedes?" Farrah ran after her and Alicia frowned as the men walked in.

"She's such a drama queen! It's not bad, look at it."

Marcus moved over to her. "It's the thought that counts baby…here let's cover it up until we eat."

Alicia frowned. "But the other food is uncovered."

He looked at Mary who just threw her hands up and walked away. "True but I want everyone to be surprised at your dish, save the best for last… you know?" He embellished.

"Oh, you're so sweet!" Alicia exclaimed, kissing him on the cheek. "I knew my food didn't smell bad."

Marcus made a face before nodding. "Of course not… let's go see who else is here." He said, guiding her out of the kitchen hoping like hell Mary would do what Mary does and throw that whole dish away.

"So you laughed at your wife and then seduced her and now she's mad at you? Because you asked her to bake today?" Dwight asked while lightly rough housing with Shawn.

Sam shrugged. "I had a good reason… I love her baking so I was just asking if she was not if she would."

"You slept with my child?" Michael asked, in shock. "Then you demanded she bake you food?"

Dwight chuckled and Sam looked at him genuinely concerned. "Where do you think Shawn came from?"

"A stork dropped that baby off." He answered seriously.

"I… sure but that doesn't help with the current problem. She is really, REALLY mad at me."

"Eh, my sister is dramatic. I mean it is gross that you are telling us all this but my advice would be-" Eric started before his father covered his mouth and shook his head.

"Don't take advice from a fool, the best advice is to take whatever she's about to give you like a man. Hiding is only going to make it worse." Michael said.

"Dude! Do not listen to him, my mom got mad at him once and he "took it like a man" he was on the couch for a month. We couldn't even address him as dad because it offended her position as our birth giver." Eric warned.

"No, no. That's not true… my back was hurting and the couch helped."

Dwight let out a loud laugh. "I remember that! Wait… I remember that. I got in trouble because I was in the same vicinity… bad back my ass!"

"Samuel Dwight Evans! What the hell did you do to the love of my life!" Jason asked, walking over to them. "I come here hoping to see a smile on that face and all I see is sadness, don't make me take her from you." He warned teasingly.

Sam frowned. "You go anywhere near my wife and I personally put you six feet under and I didn't do anything… technically."

"With as mad as she is, you may not have a wife much longer, I knew I should have taken her for myself when I had the chance."

Eric looked at them both disgusted. "Ew, it's getting weird. I'm going to sneak some food. Come on Sha." He said, grabbing his nephew and putting him over shoulder.

Jason folded his arms across his chest watching Eric and Shawn walk away. "You know, in another world, she's my wife and that's my kid." He said knowing it would annoy Sam to keep pushing.

Dwight smirked. "I have it on good knowledge that Mary and Farrah wanted her to end up with one of you, just all dependant on who acted first."

Michael frowned. "SHE'S JUST A BABY!" he exclaimed.

Sam smirked. "With all due respect, Mercedes is very much a grown woman."

Michael eyed Sam knowing what the man was doing and decided to have a little fun. "Well I mean of all people you and Jason would know."

Sam looked at his father in law. "I'm sorry what?"

"I caught Jason and Mercedes in the tree house her senior year. They didn't tell you they kissed? I guess you are right she's no baby." Michael said smirking.

Sam turned to Jason. "You kissed my wife!"

"For one, she wasn't your wife, she was your sworn enemy and for two it was on a dare. And three hell yeah I enjoyed it."

Sam moved closer to him. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"What the hell was wrong with you! She was your best friend then you dropped her when you joined the football team, she was hurt and in need of a friend and yes we kissed and after said amazing kiss we realized that we were better off as friends! What's your excuse Sam? Waiting so damn long to realize you loved her? Don't get pissed at me because you were an idiot back then. And are being one now."

"You have no idea what you are talking about, I laughed at her. It's not a big deal, she was being ridiculous in that moment and she is being ridiculous now. It will blow over she is just emotional.

Michael shot Sam a warning look. "My daughter is many things but 'just emotional' is not one of them. If she's upset about something then there's a valid reason behind it."

Sam shook his head. "Trust me, this time it really is her just being emotional. I know my wife sir, and I respect her feelings and I have never invalidated them but this time there is an exception."

"Not to take away from you knowing your wife little brother, but when you laugh at her for telling you how she feels that is not validation, that's being an ass." Jason chimed in.

Sam looked over at his brother. "You don't have a wife to know anything about what I'm experiencing and I didn't laugh at her to be mean, she just looked adorable and I laughed. Why am I explaining myself to you? Why not tell mom and dad about your hiccup before chiming in on mine!"

Dwight looked at Jason. "Hiccup? What hiccup?"

Jason cut his eyes at Sam. "Sam is the one who crashed into the garage last year, he was playing with go cart." Jason said quickly hoping like hell it took focus off of him.

Sam threw his hands up. "No! It was Shawn! I let him drive and Jason had a girl in his room last year during Christmas dinner, it's why he kept going to use the bathroom!" Sam shot back.

"Oh don't talk to me about girl's in the room, we all know when Shawn was conceived!" Jason volleyed back.

Sam smirked. "Well, we all know when yours was too, don't we?"

Jason balled up his fist. "You swore you wouldn't say anything! Especially considering she isn't the only one."

Dwight looked at his sons knowing this was about to get physical. "Hey now, you two are far too old to be playing these games. Jason calm down and Sam, it's not cool to air your brother's business out like that."

Michael nodded. "Your father is right, we already knew that girl was pregnant. You didn't have to spoil it for him."

Jason shot the older men a look. "Wait, what? How?"

Michael turned to Sam. "Wait what does he mean she's not the only one?"

Sam's jaw dropped and he shook his head. "I dunno what he's talking about. I am just sitting here trying to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family."

"Oh hell." Dwight said shaking his head., "Mercedes is pregnant isn't she?"

"No the hell she's not! That would mean Sam defiled my baby girl and we all know he doesn't want to die."

Sam's eyes grew wide. "You're absolutely right, sir. I have no death wish therefore my brother, a known liar, is lying about your daughter and you should absolutely kick his ass."

Jason folded his arms across his chest. "Really? She's not pregnant Sam, then answer me this one simple question. Why is she in the kitchen eating pie? Apple pie at that, last I remember that was your favorite, not hers."

Sam cut his eyes at his brother. "She's in there eating my moma's apple pie and no one said anything! THAT EVIL WOMAN!" He shouted, before running into the kitchen and gasping.

"Sam, don't-"

"SHE ATE MY PIE AND YOU LET HER! OHHH, SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE MARRIED!" He yelled, "WHERE IS SHE? THIS IS WAR!"

Mary shook her head. "There is more apple pie, calm down."

"Calm… calm down? You want me to calm down after she did what she did and you let her do what she did while she was doing it? The betrayal, I am your son, woman!" Sam replied before running up the stairs and headed straight to Mercedes' old bedroom.

The door was cracked and he took the liberty of bursting through it, seeing Mercedes sitting on the bed with her mother.

"Oh great, the village idiot is here." Mercedes said, frowning.

"Sweetie, nice words go a long way." Farrah said, patting her on the hand. "I'll let you two… figure this out."

Sam narrowed his eyes at Farrah, shaking his head. "You watched her eat my pie… I'm hurt moma… hurt."

Farrah snickered. "You'll get over it. Ta ta."

Mercedes rolled her eyes and pulled out her phone ignoring Sam.

"Oh no you don't dare!" He said, quickly moving closer and grabbing her phone. "You ate my moma's pie, woman?"

"I did and it was oh so good." She blew out her apple pie breath towards him. "There I shared." She smirked. "Don't say I never gave you anything. Ass."

Sam leaned in close, nipping her lips. "You will regret this!"

Mercedes licked her lips seductively staring at him. "It was so worth it. The taste alone was almost…orgasmic." She giggled wanting to piss him off.

He moved closer, forcing her to fall back as he hovered over her. "You do not want to play this game with me. I'm already ticked off because you left me then you ate my pie. Punishment is warranted."

"Be ticked off I really don't give a damn about your feelings." She spat. "Look I'm you."

"Mercedes… I wasn't laughing at you because I thought what you were saying was funny. I have never laughed when your feelings were involved and you know it." He replied, kissing her on her nose. "You were upset and you just looked so cute. I am sorry that it felt like I wasn't taking your feelings seriously."

Mercedes sighed looking at him. "It wasn't just that Sam. Its like you can't undermine me like that with Shawn, you get to be the hero and I get to be that Evil woman mommy who he hates, if you do it with him you will do it with these two and that isn't a feeling I want to have."

Sam nodded. "I know and I promise I won't do it again… I just wanted him to have a little more time getting to have weird breakfast requests before the babies showed up and it all changed. It's not just us that this will be affecting, it's him too. I'm going to be too tired to play with him and so are you…" He explained, kissing her on her cheeks. -

"Why not just tell me that Sam, I know you are worried, I am too but we have family that will help and we just have to promise that we will make time for Shawn and for each other. It's a big change Sam, trust me I get it, but so was having Shawn and look how amazing we were at that. He's never been lost or dropped on his head, he's crashed a few bikes and go carts but he's your son that can't be helped." she teased moving herself between his legs.

He smiled, trailing kissing along her neck. "Last I checked, you were the clumsy one."

"Last I checked, you wanted to get laid."

Sam chuckled, running with his hands along her waist. "You are the smarter one so I can only assume that's an invitation." He replied, before leaning up. "Did you kiss my brother?"

Mercedes froze staring at him. "I'm sorry, what?"

"Jason said you kissed when we were in high school… in the treehouse, did you?"

"Wow I was wrong." She said, pushing him off of her. "You never want to get laid again." She stood from the bed walking towards the door.

Sam looked at her confused. 'What just happened?" He asked, adjusting his hard on. "I only asked because he lies."

Mercedes looked at him. "Yes Sam, yes I kissed him. It was Senior year, you remember that year right? You had already gone a whole year without acknowledging that I existed, and wanted to be cool with your little football friends. Then one night you saw me in the tree house and came up, spewing that apology nonsense. And I believed you. Believed you enough to where we…" She shook her head. "You were my first Sam, my very first and the next day you acted as if I was nothing. So yes a few weeks later Jason and I kissed forgive me for not running to you and telling you, my bad." She turned and walked out the door.

Sam quickly got up and stopped her before she reached the stairs. "Mercedes, I… is that why you started hating me?"

"What do you think, Evans!" She yelled moving away from him. "I heard you, I heard you tell your little football friends that 'Sammy is no longer a virgin.' It hurt to know you used me. I thought I was over it, but I guess I just blocked it out."

Sam shook his head. "No, no that's not how it happened at all. I don't know what you heard but I never told anyone that… I, shit! He said, stammering. "Mercedes, when I apologized that night I was serious and meant it. I didn't know we were going to end up having sex and I didn't expect to feel like shit after. I thought… I didn't want you to think exactly what you are now."

"Sam, you are my husband and I love you, but I know what I heard, I know that I saw you with Quinn all hugged up right after and I know what I felt. Broken, used and alone. I just need a minute." She turned from him walking down the stairs.

Sam sighed, shaking his head. "Fuck!" He said under his breath before pulling his phone out and shooting a text to someone he hadn't even thought about in years.

SE: You gotta tell Mercedes what happened

QFL: Well hello, how are you? Me? Oh, I'm great…

SE: Is this Satan? Can you tell your wife she needs to tell Mercedes what happened in high school?

QFL: Haven't we been out of high school for years?

SE: SANTANA GIVE QUINN THE PHONE!

QFL: Damn Trouty got mean throughout the years. Put wifey on the phone, is she still sexy as hell

SE: Jesus! I really need you to give Q the phone, please. I'm going to lose said wife if you don't!

QFL: Really? We've been looking for a third for a while now…

QFL: I'm here, tell me whats up Sam.

SE: Oh thank God! She needs to know what happened in high school… why we started dating.

QFL: Sam that was so long ago, why the hell did you bring that up now?

SE: Because the night before all of that shit happened, I had sex with her for the first time and she thinks I just ditched her for you when that wasn't the truth.

QFL: …

QFL: …

QFL: You are an idiot.

SE: I'm aware, now call her please!

QFL: What makes you think she even wants to hear from me. Last time she saw me she called me the wicked bitch of the west…it was pretty hot, she was all angry and breathing heavy.

SE: You and your wife's obsession with my wife is concerning and if not you then Satan… she likes talking to her for some reason and she knows the truth.

QFL: Because she likes wondering what if with me Guppy Lips!

QFL: I will have Santana call her but what will any of this prove Sam, you are the one who hurt her, all us calling is going to do is make things worse, you need to talk to her, be honest.

SE: I really wish everyone would stop telling me how to talk to my wife. Do you really think it was easy texting you this? I haven't forgotten the toll all of this took on you or Santana but hearing it from you will make it easier than hearing it from me.

SE: Satan, I know you're there… you've seen her hurt so you know that I'm right she will want both sides before hearing from me.

QFL: I hate it when you appeal to my human side. Fine but I am video chatting with her so Q and I will have something to fantasize about later. And if it doesn't work out and she ends up dumping your ass then I don't wanna hear your mouth when she joins my harem.

SE: Well if you call her now you'll get to see her in a rather low cut dress… THANKS!

He put his phone in his pocket before running into her room and grabbing hers so she would have it when they called. He took the stairs two at a time, stepping into the living room and tossing it in her lap.

"Thanks… jerk." She mumbled and he sighed, choosing to go outside and get some air.

Mercedes picked up her phone as it began to ring and hit ignore, she didn't have the strength to lie and say she was okay. But when it rang again and was met with a text telling her she better pick up. She closed her eyes, hitting accept.

"What's up San?"

"Go somewhere private." Santana said and Mercedes sighed getting up and walking into the guest bedroom.

"Okay, I'm alone, what's up?" She asked.

"We're about to video you, so look sexy." Santana replied, hitting video and waited patiently for Mercedes to answer. "There's the love of my life." She said when she saw Mercedes' face.

"San, I'm not in the mood so if this is your way of making me watch you and her go at it, I'm good."

Santana let out a laugh. "Wow, he wasn't kidding. Guess I'll get straight to it. Quinn and Sam weren't really together in high school."

"Jesus Santana, you could've given her more context first." Quinn said, shaking her head before coming into view. "Hey… I know you don't want to speak-"

"You're right I don't want to talk to you and the fact that you're calling because of him is low Santana." Mercedes interrupted.

"Oh shut up! You're mad about something that happened decades ago. Trouty was only pretending to date Quinn because of me. I wasn't out yet and her parents did not approve and threatened to send her off to a conversion camp."

Mercedes looked at them hard before sighing. "You never told me that…"

"We didn't tell anyone, Sam figured it out and he came over one day… my parents were going in on me." Quinn said, shaking her head. "He just wrapped his arm around me and looked my parents in the face and told them that we were dating."

"Why didn't he just tell me that? Why didn't you tell me San? You were living with us at the time!"

"Look, I wanted to tell you but I promised wifey here I wouldn't. Sam promised to keep our secret but something changed and he tried to end things…" Santana said, looking at Quinn.

"My dad didn't believe that we were really dating and started demanding he come over for dinner and go to church with us… he hated it but he didn't want my parents hurting me or using their power to hurt Santana so he kept doing it."

"What changed?" Mercedes asked.

"I'm not sure, he just came over one night really late saying that he had to end things because it was going to end up backfiring. I didn't know he was talking about you or I wouldn't have begged him to wait a little longer."

Mercedes frowned. "What makes you think it was about me?" She asked.

Santana smirked. "Are you forgetting that you told me about your first time?"

Mercedes breathed out, closing her eyes. "He came to you the night we had sex?"

"It seems that way." Quinn said.

"I don't understand, none of this makes sense to me. He hated me for a whole damn year and then one night he kisses me and my world changed and my heart changed. Then I hear him talking to Azimo about not being a virgin anymore, I see him with you Quinn and I just…"

Santana offered a comforting smile. "I would love to tell you that you married an ass and to leave him and come to me and Q, we would treat you right. But that man loves you, besides this was so long ago and you two are married, why does it matter?"

Mercedes wiped a stray tear. "It mattered because I always felt like he was settling for me. I said I hated him just so I didn't have to admit how much I loved him, you know that San. You know how much I loved him. And when we finally got together I got pregnant and everything happened so fast we didn't get to talk about all the bad… then he found out I kissed Jason."

"Okay hold the fuck up flag on the field. You are telling me I only got a small kiss on the lips but you kissed that asshat I was way better than Jason." Santana whined playfully. "That's so not fair."

Mercedes smiled, shaking her head. "You got to touch my boobs, you were happy."

Quinn looked at them both. "You touched her boobs and didn't tell me?"

"I guess all these damn secrets coming out today huh?" Santana said. "Yes I touched her perfect boobs, braless I might add, but only because we were curious. I never sucked on them, she wouldn't let me."

Mercedes tilted her head amused. "I don't remember you asking if you could and your hands grabbed my ass enough to make up for that."

"That's because you were too busy enjoying what my hands were doing. I won't lie Quinn we probably went to like second base, I sure as hell was wet, but we both know if you were in my shoes you would have done the same damn thing. My only regret is not going all the way. Quinn's too, she was mean to you because she wanted that ass."

Quinn giggled. 'Who says I never touched her ass? We were friends before all hell broke loose, remember?"

Mercedes facepalm herself. "I was in a phase, can we let it go?"

"You were in a phase all right. I was in the room right next to you, you remember and the walls were thin." Santana teased.

"Merce I don't know why we fell out, or maybe I do…but I never stopped caring about you, you were my best friend at one point. So I would hate myself if I didn't ask you to consider forgiving me so maybe we can be friends again…"

"And then maybe convince Sam to let you come visit us so we can cross threesome with Mercedes off our bucket lists." Santana added.

Mercedes rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's never happening. I am branded by that man. But I can see us trying to be friends… especially since Sam and I are gonna need all the friends we can get soon."

Quinn beamed. "Us too… but you should consider giving him a chance to explain his side. He didn't know and I can say he never told them that he'd lost his virginity… it was a rumor."

"Wait…what do you mean us too?" Mercedes asked.

"What did you mean by needing all the friends you can get?" Quinn countered.

"I mean Q it's pretty obvious what she meant, look at those boobs. They have grown." Santana teased.

Mercedes shook her head smirking. "Or they've just gotten bigger, naturally." She bounced back.

Santana shook her head. "Uh-uh, I saw you the last time you were pregnant, those are pregnant boobs."

"Well, wouldn't you like to find out." She teased.

Sam sat on the back porch watching Eric and Marcus jump on the trampoline with Shawn. Jason walked out, handing Sam a slice of apple pie, and sitting next to him with his own.

"Did you and the missus work things out or is she still pissed at you?" Jason asked, taking a bite of pie.

"I dunno honestly, we shall see when she comes down. Doesn't mean I am not upset with her though." Sam said, taking his own bite.

"You know all that kissing talk was just to get under your skin. She and I knew nothing would ever happen because as much as you loved her and didn't want to admit it, she loved you. She just needed to know you felt the same. I have never seen two people more suited for each other. Besides us Evans men got to stick together if both our women are pregnant."

Sam sighed. "I thought I was doing the right thing back then and didn't see how much it hurt her. How much it hurt us, but now that I have her I am not ever gonna let her go no matter how crazy she gets with this pregnancy."

Jason smirked. "You do know, everyone knows or assumes she's pregnant right?" He teased.

"We planned on telling everyone today anyways. This situation just got away from us." Sam said as his phone beeped.

MJE: Bedroom. Now.

Sam sighed. "Looks like I am being summoned." He stood and took the pie from Jason's hands. "Sorry but if she's still pissed, these two will soften the blow."

Sam walked away before Jason could say anything heading up the stairs. Taking a breath he walked into the room seeing her sitting on the bed. Looking over to Sam she watched him as he took a seat.

"I brought you pie." Sam said, offering her a lopsided grin.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you trust me? I knew Quinn was your best friend and you knew that Santana was mine. I could have helped."

Sam sighed, placing the plates down and sat beside her. "Because you didn't see how her father yelled at her… I was scared that if anyone knew it was fake that he would find out. I know it sounds stupid but then to a teenage boy, it sounded logical. Plus I know you would've tried to kick his ass…" He answered, bumping her shoulder playfully.

Mercedes looked at him and smiled, leaning in and giving him a soft kiss. "I love you, I love you for helping them then and for knowing the truth now. All this time I thought you just…didn't enjoy me or like me."

"Mercedes, we've known each other practically our whole lives… you should know I would never intentionally hurt you like that and it was my first time too."

"Sam you cut me off for a year, didn't talk to me then you come to me…"

He looked at her, frowning. "You think I don't know what you said about me to Santana? Or how she threatened me because she thought I hurt you purposefully? I never told anyone about us, because it was special to me and I didn't want to make it seem like it was a one time thing. I tried to talk to you afterwards but I got nervous!"

Mercedes moved to straddle him. "You got nervous." She asked wrapping her arms around his neck. "Why?"

He sighed, gently grabbing her arms and moving her from his lap as he shook his head. "No. You don't get to explode on me and think you can just seduce me to make me forget. You aren't innocent in this Mercedes. I left notes in your locker, I tried texting and calling but you never budged."

"Oh so its only okay whe you do it?" She shook her head. "You were my first Sam and then without a word you are with Quinn, I am human and I was a teen too, what else was I supposed to think."

"I HAD A GOOD REASON! Jesus! It's like you just want to argue to be right." He said, standing. "I admit that I was wrong but Mercedes I didn't start treating you like shit until you did it to me first. You assumed I just forgot, you assumed I used you for sex and you assumed I hated you."

"Sam even the best reasons aren't good enough when you have sex with someone and just walk away!" She shook her head. "You should have told me, even if it wasn't the whole truth, you should have warned me that I would see you and Quinn together. You should have prepared me. But you didn't. So my heart was broken, and so yes I didn't read your notes, I didn't answer your text. Because I felt used. I don't want to argue with you Sam. I don't want this to be our life. But if I can understand that you hurt me to save Quinn, why can't you understand that I hurt you to save my heart!"

He frowned. "Your heart wasn't the only one that was broken, I at least tried to fix things. I love you but I have every right to be upset too. I never even brought this shit up because I didn't care to open a wound but you got the answers you wanted." He said, shaking his head. "And regardless of what you think, I couldn't have ever prepared you for that and you know it. Deep down you know that you would've hated me for playing along."

"I never said you didn't have a right to be upset. But I have one too, and you can't just take away my feelings because you were doing right by Quinn. You did right by her Sam, but when it came to me I was an afterthought it seemed. I think you picked the greater of two evils. Either I hate you for ditching me or I hate you for playing along. You chose for me, didn't give me a chance to decide for myself. I love you Sam I always have and always will but this… this hurts. It really does."

"There's nothing I can do to fix that now. I've apologized, I've gotten Quinn and Santana to tell you the truth, I even explained my side of things. Normally, I would blame this on your pregnancy hormones but this is something completely different. I can't apologize enough and I won't be made to feel like I chose to hurt you. I didn't. There was no lesser of two evils because I tried to fix it when it happened."

Mercedes stood walking over to him. "I don't want you to apologize Sam, I want you to stop making it seem like I shouldn't be as hurt because you had a reason. You are acting like me not replying to you is worse than what you did when in reality they hurt us both all the same. You think I want you to spend the rest of our lives on your knees saying sorry? I just wanted to you to admit that yes I had a right to be mad and deal with it however I chose, because you chose not to include me in the truth."

Sam shook his head. "That situation wasn't about you! Us having sex yes but what happened with Quinn and her father and Santana wasn't about you! It wasn't my truth to tell and in case you it didn't cross your mind me telling you would have meant me outing Quinn. Yes, I was wrong for not sitting you down after but my truth and the part you keep ignoring is that there were two people involved that night in that treehouse and only one of us tried to reach out afterwards. You ignored me and I gave you time, if you wanted the truth back then why not ask?"

"Tell me Sam, you keep saying you reached out, but if you couldn't tell me the truth how the hell would you have fixed it? If I answered your text or read your letters would you have just lied to my face? You keep saying it was their truth but the bottom line is if I would have answered you, if I would have listened, you would have told me a lie. And once the truth came out, I would have felt even more betrayed. You wanna be pissed I walked away well that's on you. But I am not going to stand here and have you make me the villain."

She moved away from him and walked over to the door. "I need some air."

"You walk out that door and that's it." He said, fuming. "You keep assuming that I would have lied to you, you keep putting scenarios where you end up hurt. If you think all I'm good at is hurting you then I don't want to keep doing it. Walking away when it gets hard is something you do but I'm here, willing to talk this out. I've stood here and listened and it's only centered around me not telling you something I couldn't because it would have meant Quinn being sent away and Santana being shipped to Mexico. Your pain hurts me to my core and you have every single right to be upset for my action but not my reasoning. I was a teenage boy trying to do what I thought was right and trying to fix my wrong. I don't know what I would have told you and I never got the chance to see what would've happened."

Mercedes placed her hand on the door, leaning against it shaking her head. "You keep saying you were a teenage boy trying to do what's right, and I get that Sam. But I was a teenage girl who had just lost her virginity and her best friend again, that's what it felt like. I felt like my whole world was done. I stopped singing, I stopped talking to people, I just stopped Sam. I can't forgive you for doing right because you are right you did right by Quinn, I probably would have too, I don't want your sorry for them because there is nothing to forgive. And. I don't even want your sorry for walking away, because you are right you were a teen I just… I don't." She closed her eyes, taking a breath not knowing what to say.

Sam nodded. "Then there you have it. The faults of a teenager ruined a good thing…"

She turned to him. "No. Sam we were best friends until we weren't and so when all of that happened I was hurt. I guess I didn't realize how hurt until now. I didn't realize how much I held onto the past until now. You are sorry, I am sorry but there is no going back to then. Maybe that's just the way it is sometimes. We can just try to be better, try to see each other's points of view and that's probably all we can do. This situation it has no winners here. And it's not as simple as being black and white either." She wiped her eyes. "I love you. I am in love with you and maybe it sucked but we found our way here, that has to mean something doesn't it?"

Sam looked down, clearing his throat. "I don't think it's that easy. You aren't willing to forgive me for this and I don't think blanketing love over it will fix it. Not that easily at least… I'm going to go before I do any more damage." He replied, gently moving her aside. "I do love you too and I am in love with you." He said before walking out of the room.

Mercedes followed after him. "You said I assume." She said softly. "I never said I couldn't forgive you, I said you shouldn't be sorry for Quinn and Santana. But if you walk away its like you said, it's over. You don't want me to run, well I don't want you to run either. We work it out or we walk away. You are right its not easy. Marriage never is."

He shook his head. "That double standard…" He said looking over his shoulder at her. "How many times have I run from an argument?"

"Exactly you never have! So you leaving now, it scares me."

He let out a hard laugh. "I get to run. I get to do this because I can't fix it… not now. You always run and I'm always there but the one time I do it… I'll be back to see Shawn." He said, walking down the stairs and out the door.

Mercedes sat on the stairs, tears streaming down her face as she watched him leave. Knowing she could chase him, but it wouldn't do any good. He left her and she didn't know if he would ever come back.
