Not too long after the Fez/Nate showdown, Fez's apartment got raided. Fez had to dump so much drugs down the toilet, he wasn't sure how he was going to make it up.

He hadn't seen Gaia since the day either. She was literally supposed to be in the apartment that day but was running late from hanging out with her mom. If she didn't take the extra time with her mom, she would have been in harm's way.

This made Fez think long and hard about his relationship with Gaia and how all he wanted to do was love and protect her. Gaia always looked out for others, but no one looked out for her.

He had always felt insecure in the relationship. Having Nate say that shit in the store made him realize that maybe he was supposed to be a speed bump in the road for Gaia. He often wondered when Gaia would realize she could do better than a dead-end drug dealer. She was a beacon of light for him but would his lifestyle dim it?

All the thoughts in his head went to one question: was this relationship good for Gaia?

Gaia got a text from Fez to come over to the place. They haven't seen each other since the raid. Now that she thought about it, she's only texted Fez a couple of times over the past few days, which was unusual. Gaia chalked it to stress.

She drove up to the house and knocked on the door. Fez opened one door, leaving the metal door as a barrier.

Fez needed the metal door to hold himself back and to stick to the plan.

" Umm, you gonna open the other door" Gaia laughed.

" I can't let you in right now, but I need to talk to you," He answered truthfully. If he let her into his house, he knew he wouldn't go through with this.

"Fez, that makes no sense. Unless you're like breaking up with me, Why can't I-" Gaia stopped mid-sentence when she saw his face look at the ground guiltily.

" Y-You're breaking up with me?" Gaia choked out.

The two sat in deafening silence. Neither wanted to finish the conversation and rewind back to when the couple was happy and together. However, that wasn't the reality.

" I can't have you coming around here no more. I don't want what I got going on hurting you. You need someone to look out for you. I'm not good for you" Fez rubbed his head, still unable to look at her.

" So you "looking out" for me is dumping me? Leaving me without someone in my corner? Letting me be all alone again?" Gaia questioned. She felt her lip quiver and the tears forming.

" I'm sorry, ma," Fez apologized.

" Don't fucking call me ma," Gaia snapped. The realization set in, and Gaia was upset.

" Please, Gaia. " Fez pleaded.

" You know what, Fez? Fuck you! I knew I was right. You don't want me around because I have too much baggage, right? You found out I'm fucked up, and It's too much from you now?" Gaia yelled.

"It's not that Gaia, Im not good for you. My house got fucking raided, and you could of been there and gotten hurt! I'm a fucking drug dealer! I'm gonna be dead or in jail, and I don't want you to go down with me! " Fezco yelled back.

" Please, fez! Just open the door so we can talk about this, alright?" Gaia pleaded.

" Im sorry, Gaia. I love you, but I'm not good enough." Fez sighed and closed the door.

" You're just a fucking liar! You never cared about me or loved me. If you did, You wouldn't be doing this to me right now! Y-You wouldn't be tossing me out like some trash." Gaia cried.

Gaia banged on the door just like Rue had earlier this semester, begging for something different.

" Fuck you, Fez! I fucking love you! You fucking made me feel loved, and then you're gonna take it away?! Fuck you!" Gaia yelled as she walked away.

Fez leaned on the door, with tears falling from his face. When he heard her car drive away, he sat on the couch and cried. The pain in his heart was so severe that he lay down holding his chest.

Ashtray had come out of the room after hearing all the yelling.

" Yo! what's going on? I thought GG was coming, " Ashtray asked nervously. He was scared at the scene he was witnessing. Ashtray never saw Fez like !

" I just fucked up."

Gaia drove home crying. She pulled over to throw up a couple of times from being so upset and angry. She even developed a headache from being so emotional.

She finally got to her house and quickly ran into the house.

" Hi, sweetie! How was your day?" Her mom greeted. Her smile went into a face of concern.

" Fez just broke up with me!" Gaia cried. Monique engulfed her daughter into a hug, rubbing her back softly. She had seen the happiness Fez had given her daughter. Even though he was a drug dealer, she didnt judge him.

" Im so sorry GG!"Monique comforted her.

They broke apart, and Monique held Gaia by her arms, looking at her in her eyes " Go and take a shower; I'll order some food, and we'll talk about it, ok? "

Gaia gave a small smile and nodded her head. She went upstairs and took a long shower, trying to wash the memory away.

She got out of the shower, and her head was still hurting. She looked in her room for aspirin but didn't find anything. She dressed in comfortable sweats and went to her mom's room to get some aspirin.

She walked into her mother's room and into the bathroom. She opened up the medicine cabinet, hoping to find some aspirin. What she did find was going to destroy her heart even more.

Monique's cabinet was filled with bottles but no aspirin. Gaia looked confusingly at the cabinet.

"Why does my mom have all these pills?" she whispered.

She looked through the pills and read the name.

"cyclophosphamide, streptozocin, 5-fluorouracil, daunorubicin, etc." She read the pill bottles' names out loud. Her eyes returned to one familiar medicine, and she picked up the pill bottle labeled cyclophosphamide. She stayed there a minute until she remembered when she had heard about that medicine before.

~Flashback~

Gaia was helping Rue clean out all the pills in her dad's room after he died. To be honest, Rue took the ones they could get high off and pocketed them.

Gaia picked up a random bottle and read the label.

She turned and asked Rue, " Hey can you get high off cyclophosphamide?"

" Nah. That's used as chemotherapy to suppress the immune system." Rue rolled her eyes.

" How do you know about all this?" Gaia laughed.

" I basically took care of him. Fucking nurse didn't even do jack shit," Rue explained.

Gaia stopped and looked at Rue as she rummaged through her dead dad's medicine. It wasn't that long since he died, and it was apparent Rue was heartbroken.

" Rue?" Gaia called out to Rue.

" Yeah?" Rue answered back. She was too focused on finding pills to look back.

" I'm sorry about your dad. Like really sad. I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy. I understand how you feel, and if you need to rant or rage at me, I'll be here. I'm not gonna say some stupid shit like he died for some big reason cause that's bullshit. However, I want you to know that I will always be there to talk if you ever feel alone. " Gaia expressed sincerely.

Rue had stopped and turned around to look at one of her best friends. One of the only people that completely understood what she felt. Weirdly enough, Rue's dad dying brought them closer than before.

" Thank you, GG. For everything." Rue looked at her fingers. She was on the brim of tears. She had already cried twice that day. That's why she was looking for some fucking pills.

Gaia went over and hugged Rue tightly. Rue quietly sobbed on her head. Gaia felt anger build up in her. Why do good people like Rue's dad and her dad get their lives cut short? Why do she and Rue have to deal with this pain and loss?

~Flashback ended~

" Gaia! Are you okay?" Monique yelled upstairs. This snapped Gaia out of her memory and back to reality.

Gaia's eyes started tearing up immediately. Her mom had chemotherapy pills. She took out her phone and looked up all the drugs in her cabinet. All of them were for cancer.

FUCK!

Gaia started to pace back and forth like Rue had done in Fez's Grandma's room. She felt her brain trying to process this information, but her brain was fried from what had just happened with Fez.

" GG? I know you're upset, but come down and eat-" Monique stopped as soon as she saw her daughter holding the bottle that unveiled her secret.

" How long have you known?" Gaia asked in a whisper.

" GG-"

" Mom, please just answer my question

."

"...Since the beginning of the summer", Monique sighed.

" Of course it was," Gaia scoffed. She felt stupid trusting her mom just randomly wanted to try to meet their relationship.

" GG, just let me-"

"What do you need to explain? You're dying and don't want to be alone, so you started acting like you wanted me as a daughter again." Gaia laughed. She started to have a fit of laughter, which kind of scared her mom.

" That's not true, baby. I wanted to repair our relationship for a long time." Monique tried to explained

" Oh, ok. So it just so happened to coincide with you getting cancer? " Gaia asked sarcastically.

Her mom tried to talk to her, but Gaia blocked her out. She walked past her mom and started walking back to her room. Gaia took out a bag and packed some clothes into it. She packed her beauty products and makeup, and some shoes.

" Why are you packing?" Monique asked, very confused.

Gaia closed her bag and zipped it up. She sat on the bag and sighed," I'm leaving."

" Gaia, you aren't leaving!" Monique exclaimed.

" Why? because you don't want to be alone?" Gaia exclaimed back.

" No, Gaia. Because you are still my daughter. Just please put your clothes away," Monique pleaded. She tried to reach for the bag, but Gaia moved it out of the way.

" Since when was I your daughter? You think you treat me like I exist for a couple of months, you a mother. Don't make me laugh," Gaia shook her head.

"Gaia, don't talk to me like that! I told you I was depressed from your father and sister passing" Monique felt her eyes tearing up. She knew she should have told Gaia, but she was too scared.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that only their deaths affected you. It's not like I lost them too. It's not like I was begging for you for years. It's not like I was basically an orphan because my mom abandoned me," Gaia's voice kept getting louder and louder with every word she spoke. She had started to forgive her mom, but this revelation made her realize her mom didnt mean anything she said during this time. Gaia opened her safe and took out her emergency money.

" Gaia, that's not true. I love you so much!" Monique tried to touch Gaia, but Gaia snatched herself from her.

Gaia picked up her phone. She got a bunch of texts from Fez, apologizing and trying to get back together. Ashtray had also messaged and called her upset. She took the rest of her drugs and put them in her purse.

She was only leaving until her mom left in 3 days, then she would return. Gaia picked up her bag and started to walk out of the room and out of the house. In the last effort, Monique ran to the door and stood in front of it so she wouldn't leave.

Gaia rolled her eyes in pure annoyance.

" Please, mom, just move. I can't be here right here with you right now!" Gaia quivered in sadness.

" I'm sorry GG. I'm so sorry," Monique sobbed.

" If you cared about me, you would let me go so I could process this myself. " Gaia looked at her mom stoically.

Her mom finally moves aside, allowing Gaia to leave the house. She walked to her jeep and threw her bag in the back. Gaia looked back at the door to see her mom staring at her teary-eyed. Gaia climbed into the car and drove away from her house. After driving for a bit, she pulled over and looked at her contact list.

She scrolled, looking at everyone's name, trying to figure out who she could go to the thought of Lexi, but Howard's house was already in turmoil. She thought of Rue, but she wasn't in the best place. Jules was out of town. She knew she should have gone when Jules offered. Gaia would go to Kat, but kat wouldn't understand. She still wasn't talking to Maddy and hated Nate. She stopped on Fez's contact and felt her eyes tear up again, but she swallowed the sadness.

Gaia finally lands on the one person she knew she could call in a crisis that no one would expect. She dialed their number, putting the phone to her ear. The phone rang and rang, making Gaia anxious by the second until she heard a voice on the other end.
