Chapter 44: Freezing Jealousy

Ash and his Pokemon were all training to get ready for the upcoming gym battle against the Mosk gym Leader. Ash had did some digging and discovered that the gym leader was a fairy type specialist named Pavlova. Not only is she a skilled battler, but she is also an expert coordinator, and is often the won who wins the contests hosted in Mosk.

Ash: Alright guys, let's make sure we are all ready for the gym battle

While Ash hasn't yet decided which Pokemon to use for the gym battle, he knows that he will use Pikachu, the little mouse has yet to be in an official Miskoto battle, and the little electric mouse was itching for a chance to fight. As he watched his Pokemon train, he took the time to look at how Anne is doing on her end, and she has been making good progress.

However, Ash saw that she was taking more risks for the appeal and expected it to work. Ash feared that this may affect her performance in the next contest, but for now he was going to focus on his training.

As he watched, he saw his Miskoto team talking to each other.

Pokespeech on

Kirlia: And so , it is vital to keep your focus on the enemy at all times

Vespidart: Um, Kirlia, it's also important to focus on your surroundings, you could slip up

Kirlia: Regardless, the opponent is of the highest priority

Arumanda: Enough, the only way to train is to actually train, which is what I'm going to do right now

Arumanda then leapt into the nearby trees to practice some jumping skills.

Cattleflame: No offense Kirlia, but I have to agree with Arumanda

Kirlia: Ugh...

As Arumanda is jumping, he noticed something within the corner of his vision and rolled over to see what it was. When he got there, he saw a Watchog fighting a Tutwirl, but this Tutwirl looked different. Rather than light blue, this Tutwirl was black ice in color, and it seemed to be quite powerful judging by how well it was kicking the Watchog's butt. The lookout Pokemon was finally taken down after it received a Pirouette Kick to the face, knocking it out.

Arumanda: Nice

That was when Tutwirl saw Arumanda and she leapt forward with a Triple Axel and kneed Arumanda in the stomach, making him recoil backwards. Naturally angered, Arumanda curled into a ball and rolled forward with Rollout, only to kicked back with Pirouette Kick, sending him in a daze. Fortunately, he managed to get out of the way of an incoming Shadow Ball before firing a Spike Cannon attack, pinning her to the tree.

Arumanda: How's that huh?

In response, Tutwirl's eyes glowed blue as she levitated the spikes pinning her and shot them at Arumanda in a Psychic attack, which were knocked away by Arumanda's tail. Before the fight could go on any longer, they were surrounded by a group of wild Patrat and Watchog, and they didn't look too happy.

Arumanda: Run?

Tutwirl: Sure

They both then dashed back to where Ash's group was, and they soon found themselves panting form all of the running they did.

Sushido: Arumanda, where were you, and who is this?

Arumanda: I guess I should explain

After explaining what happened, the black Tutwirl decided to introduce herself.

Tutwirl: Hmm, this team looks very well put together, the sign of a good trainer

Lampent: You have no idea

Kirlia: Um, ok can we get down to the important question? Where did you come from?

Tutwirl: From the wilderness obviously

Crestle: Seems this Tutwirl has an attitude

Conochild: What's with the color?

Noctowl: I think we got ourselves a fellow shiny Pokemon

Roselia: As in Pokemon with different colors?

Noctowl: Exactly, just like yours closely

Pokespeech Off

Ash: Well this has certainly been interesting, how about we get back to training?

They did so, with the shiny Tutwirl looking on in interest. She saw Kirlia and Oricorio clashing in a kick lock, both using their dance styles to put more oomph into their attacks. She then looked towards Crestle swooping down to Pikachu, whom jumped out of the way and nailed Crestle with a Thunderbolt attack. Snickering, she decided to launch a Shadow Ball in front of Kirlia to disrupt her focus and spook her.

Kirlia got annoyed by the new Tutwirl's mischief and retaliated with a Mirror Shot, which was dodged thanks to Tutwirl's Double Team. The Mirror Shot however ended up striking Conochild in the back, sending him into a nearby tree. After pulling his head out of the knothole, Conocnild glared at Kirlia, whom pointed at Tutwirl, who acted all innocent. Not wanting any conflict, Pikachu split them up and had them practice their moves in separate areas, but this did little to stop Tutwirl, whom decided to prime a Shadow Ball next to Lampent, and then set it off, spooking him.

However, this would prove to be a big mistake, as Lampent launched a Sun Pulse towards Tutwirl, who wasn't as quick to react this time. She was then slammed into Cattleflame, whom blew out a Flamethrower in shock which nearly roasted Vespidart. However, it was too little too late, as Cattleflame was thrown into a rage and spouting Flamethrowers, which nearly set the training ground ablaze, had it not been for the water types stepping in and dousing the flames.

Ash: Ok what's going on here? We nearly had our skins fried because of that

Tutwirl timidly fumbled her nonexistent fingers, and she could swear she saw Kirlia with a smug look on her face.

Pikachu then stepped forward and proceeded to explain how Tutwirl instigated the conflict by scaring Lampent, which the latter confirmed.

Ash: Look Tutwirl, I know you like causing trouble, but there is a right and a wrong place to do so, understand?

Tutwirl: Tu...

Ash: Good, I believe that should be enough action for the day, let's take a well earned break

Every Pokemon agreed and they went off to do their own thing. Kirlia was irritated, as she wanted to see Tutwirl receive worse than just a simple scolding.

The Next Day

Anne went off to the contest, ready to get her third ribbon, while Ash and the gang stayed to train some more. Tutwirl decided to practice on perfecting Ice Beam so she can match Glalie's arctic might, but so far she wasn't making much progress, much to Kirlia's amusement.

Tutwirl: Oh you think that's funny? How about this?!

She then fired a Shadow Ball at Kirlia, who managed to get out of the way with her graceful dancing skills. Tutwirl only got more frustrated with Kirlia's antagonizing until she was at the end of her rope and launched an out of control Ice Beam that caught Kirlia off guard.

Tutwirl: Not so funny now huh?

That was when an Ursaring came out of the bushes with frost on his shoulder, and he was very angry. Kirlia tried kicking him with Pirouette Kick, but he was too angry to acknowledge it and slammed her down with Hammer Arm, which also badly harmed her legs, preventing her from running. Tutwirl saw Ursaring going for the finishing blow, and on instinct, levitated Ursaring and threw him away with Psychic before running over to Kirlia. She then offered her hand to the emotion Pokemon, and after a few moments, Kirlia accepted. They then looked at each other, as if they had come to an understanding and walked right back to the camp.

Ash: I'm glad you sorted things through, how would you like to join us Tutwirl?

That was an offer Tutwirl eagerly accepted, and now Ash had his own Tutwirl.

Ash: I wonder how Anne is doing
