Adrien's heart sank when he looked at the Caller ID. He honestly wasn't sure he'd ever get used to his father actually calling him like this. He hesitantly answered and brought the phone to his ear before reluctantly speaking. "Hello?"
A sigh could be heard over the phone before Gabriel spoke up. "Adrien…" The man began in an exhausted tone, it sounded like he hadn't slept since Adrien had left. "It occurs to me that I may have been… alacritous in how quickly I refused your terms. If we could meet up somewhere we can talk about it."
"Alright but we aren't telling you where we are. We'll meet somewhere in Paris, how about tomorrow afternoon?" Adrien wasn't sure this was a good idea but he did at least want to try and make things right with his father.
"That's reasonable, I haven't really done much to earn your trust" Gabriel conceded with a small sigh. "Where would you suggest Adrien?"
"Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. Maybe around 2:30? Remember to tell Tomoe" Adrien suggested and after Gabriel agreed he hung up before laying back on the couch with a sigh that had been one of the most stressful moments of his life, supervillains had nothing on Gabriel Agreste.
Before he even had an opportunity to stand up Kagami walked in catching his attention, perfect timing anyway he really should have consulted her before even agreeing to meet up with his father. "Kagami, sorry to drop this on you suddenly but my father just called he said he wanted to meet up tomorrow afternoon, sorry I should have asked you but it was kind of sudden, I didn't have time to come and ask you"
"It's fine, we couldn't exactly live here with Nathalie indefinitely" Kagami had a point really they had until Nathalie had used up her vacation time. "I was going to suggest we try to talk to them eventually anyway" Kagami stated plainly her discomfort evident in her very matter of fact tone.
Kagami paused for a moment and texted Nathalie to let her know before shifting her focus back to Adrien. "Still that's tomorrow so we should enjoy today to its fullest" That was a good idea though, Adrien was a little surprised that Kagami had been the one to suggest it. Not that surprising though she'd relaxed a lot since they'd moved out here.
"Alright well did you have any ideas?" Adrien stood up from the couch putting his phone away and turned to face Kagami who was taking a moment to think.
"We could always go to out to eat there a plenty of cafes around here and after that we could go for a walk it should help us take our mind of everything" Kagami suggested and after a moment Adrien nodded
"Alright well if you're ready let's get going" Kagami nodded and the pair left the apartment though they were sure to leave a note for Nathalie so she wouldn't wonder where they were.

Despite their idea to go out Adrien and Kagami had no idea where to go, most places they'd consider going on a date were well, back in Paris and they didn't want to go back yet, even so they knew their way around here fairly well by now, eventually they settled on a small but pleasant cafe.
It wasn't too busy so the pair didn't have to wait long they once they had found a table they ordered Adrien ordered a coffee as well as a chicken salad sandwich, Kagami was about to order coffee but decided on hot chocolate and some blueberry pancakes her mother would never allow her to drink something so childish but Tomoe wasn't here.
"Do you have any plans for when we go back? Assuming your father keeps his word about not making you work for him of course" Kagami asked in an attempt to make conversation while they waited for their food.
"Good question, I haven't given it as much thought as I should but I've always sort of wanted to be a teacher, perhaps physics or maybe math?" Adrien's answer seemed to amuse Kagami somewhat judging from her face. "What? I think i'd be great at that"
"Well you'd be better then Ms. Mendeleiev at least" She replied through a stifled laugh as the waiter brought over their drinks.
"She's not so bad, just a little strict" Adrien replied in her defense but he couldn't argue too much nearly every student preferred Ms. Bustier. "Anyway, what about you? What did you want to do?"
"Well I think you already know the answer to that, I want to be an artist, I might even write my own Manga one day" Kagami replied, staring down at her hot chocolate, a drink she hadn't had since she was five thanks to her mother, she brought the cup to her lips and took a sip, it was even better then she remembered.
"Should I leave you alone with the hot chocolate?" Adrien joked almost causing Kagami to choke on the drink but by some miracle she managed not to spill it everywhere.
"It's not my fault, I haven't had hot chocolate in 9 years" She stammered to defend herself but before Adrien had a chance to respond the waiter brought their food for them.
Adrien had only one thought when he took a bite, good but not as good as Marinettes cooking a thought he decided wasn't worth sharing out loud and given the circumstance it was probably best not to.
"You know, Marinette made these for me once," Kagami spoke, seemingly reading Adrien's mind before leaning in a little closer. "Between you and me her's were better" She concluded before taking another bite.
Noticing Adrien's awkward expression at the mention of the girl, Kagami decided to try and reassure him. "You should talk to Marinette, she's not the type of girl who'd resent you for not returning her feelings and she's too good of a friend for you to lose."
"Yeah I know, I've been meaning to talk to her but I'm not sure what to say, I don't want to hurt her anymore then I already have." He sighed in a disheartened tone. He knew it wasn't really his fault but he couldn't help but dwell on it.
"Well you shouldn't put it off, it will just make things harder. I'm sure I don't need to tell you but try to be kind" Kagami stated simply to Adrien's slight surprise.
"You seem to know a lot about this"
"Well i've had to turn down a few guys before I dated you" Kagami replied in a matter of fact tone though Adrien wasn't convinced,
"Really? And you're sure it's not from all the romance manga in your room?" Kagami's flustered reaction told Adrien all he needed to know
"I- They're just… wait I never let you read them. So how come you knew what they were?" Kagami stammered to defend herself but Adrien wasn't too concerned
"What can I say? I'm a romantic at heart all though that shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to you" There wasn't a hint of embarrassment in his tone much to Kagami's chagrin.
"I give up, there's no embarrassing you." Kagami said with an amused sigh before going back to her food. "At least you won't make fun of my reading habits pancakes"
After they had finished their food and paid they headed out again, but neither of them were ready to go home yet not that they knew their way around properly.
Eventually the pair decided to head to the park until Kagami pointed out it was almost an hour's walk. "Well that shouldn't be a problem for someone as meowvelous as me" Adrien replied as he ducked out of sight into an alley before motioning for Kagami to follow him
In a flash of green light Adrien was replaced by Chat noir, Kagami wasn't sure she'd ever get used to this, another thing she wouldn't get used to was how easily he was able to pick her up as chat noir she weighed almost nothing to him like this.
It only took the pair about ten minutes to get there which was a lot faster than they had anticipated, after Adrien had arrived he went to transform back but unexpectedly Kagami stopped him. "There's nobody around right? It's sort of exciting to be dating a superhero" Against his better judgment Adrien agreed to the request and decided to stay as Chat Noir.
"Well I can certainly understand that, I am pawsitively irresistible like this" Chat teased as he sat down on the grass looking over the pond and after just a moment Kagami sat next to him.
They sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes before Kagami spoke up. "So what are your plans as Chat Noir the people of Paris are champing at the bit for Chat Noir and Ladybug to get together you don't think they'll be disappointed?" Kagami asked, mostly joking.
"Yeah honestly that's kinda my fault but hey they can't always get what they want, Andre might not serve me ice cream ever again though" Adrien said with a small sigh it sounded like a joke but honestly Andre might do it.
"Well they'll just have to deal with it. It's not really their choice." Kagami replied in a straightforward uncompromising tone, but she was right of course.
After a little while Adrien brought Kagami back to the apartment and turned back before heading inside. They still had to speak to Adrien's father tomorrow but at least for today they could relax.
Well it didn't take quite as long this time but still sorry for the wait, as always any reviews are appreciated.
