Almost Everything
Chapter 19
Authors note : Thank you my readers. As my tears for Haley has officially begun. But does Nathan have a right to shield himself and his life from Haley.? Knowing what he knows now.?
Nathan walked over to where Haley was and hugged her.
"I'm sorry that this happened to you at all. Now this new layer on top of it. I don't want to make things harder for you." Nathan admitted.
Haley looked back at him. "Then don't. Tell me you love me more then you hate him."
"That you are open and willing to love Sage for who she is."
"Regardless of the DNA she shares with him."
"Sage is apart of you too. Doesn't that count for anything.?" Haley questioned. The emotion in her voice thick.
"We wouldn't be raising her as my sister. I know how the media and the public can judge and make lives of people in the spotlight unable. Based off rumors."
"It's even worse when there is truth to the gossip."
"You've lived you're life away from this town."
"I'm in the public eye every day. For basketball and every second afterwards. People wanting to a picture or an autograph or video."
"Camera men and snapping pictures of moments they shouldn't capture. No privacy. I'm in a zoo Haley."
"I've worked too long and too hard. For this situation to ruin me and the life i'm trying to build." Nathan explained.
"I love you. I'm in love with you."
"God i wish that was enough. But its not."
"I can't see her as my sister and will never view her as a daughter."
"Friends is all i can offer." Nathan stated matter of fact.
"Come on Sage. We have to go. We have lunch with uncle Lucas and aunt Brooke at Karen's." Haley proclaimed.
Sage ran over. Taking her mother's hand in hers.
