Lin Ye raised a brow at what he just heard from her.

A damsel in distress?

Who?

Him?

That can't be right. Although he wasn't really that strong compared to some monsters he knew of, Lin Ye knew he was decent enough to take care of himself in most situations. Other than that, he was safe and sound.

Then Lin Ye realised that Diana was talking about Mostima.

That only confused him more. If Lin Ye was strong, what was Mostima then?

From what he remembered, Mostima was a strong Caster. She could easily knock down anyone that Lin Ye would have trouble dealing with.

The idea of Mostima being a damsel in distress never appeared in his mind, not even once.

Lin Ye was about to ask Diana to explain further what she meant, but Nian seemed to be interested in the subject now as she slammed her hands on the table.

Diana and Lin Ye both glanced at the dragon and saw her eyes were focused on the former. From the side, Lin Ye saw Nian's eyes twinkling in curiosity as she stared into Diana's soul with a gleeful expression on her face.

This only confused both of them.

"You can write too?!" Nian asked excitedly.

Diana's brow arched on her face when she heard this.

"What?" Although shocked, Diana managed to blurt out this question to her.

Nian was even more excited now as she leaned closer to her, making Lean back on her chair to get some distance between them.

"You said damsel in distress!" Nian told her, "You must be writing about a character being saved by someone!."

Then she puffed out her chest in pride.

"I am also a writer," Nian held out her hand towards Diana, "Nice to know there is also someone like me that can write! Nice to meet you!"

Diana looked at the hand that was offered to her and back to the owner that had a grin on her face. Seeing that she didn't know what was going on, Diana swallowed her pride and glanced at the more rational person at the table with her.

Feeling her eyes on him, Lin Ye sighed and got up from his seat. He gently placed his hand on Nian's shoulder and got her attention.

Diana let out a sigh of relief when she was not being stared at by this strange person.

With Nian's attention on him, Lin Ye smiled at her as she stared at him confused.

"That was not what she meant, Nian," He patiently explained, "She was talking about her friend just now. She is not writing a story like you."

Her eyes widened.

"Really?" She asked in a sad tone.

Lin Ye nodded.

"Sadly yes." He replied with a smile.

Nian let out a disappointed sigh and flopped back down onto her chair. She continued eating her sundae albeit, she did grumble to herself about not finding her kin.

Lin Ye chuckled as he sat back down and gave Nian a pat on the head. His eyes landed back on Diana who was now back to her calm state now.

"Sorry about that," He apologized. Then he adopted a more serious expression and showed it to her, "So about Mostima. Can you explain more about what happened to her?"

This earned him a confused expression from her.

"Do you really not know about Mostima's current predicament?"

Lin Ye folded his hands and hummed.

"Well, in my overall defence," He said, "I did get a call from a mysterious person just a few days back. Not enough time to get information on this situation."

Diana let out a frustrated sigh.

From how little they interacted, this was not what she expected him to be.

He was laid back. There was an aura around him that made him approachable. Always had a small smile to give to anyone he talked to.

He was normal.

He was safe.

However, there was more to him than he wanted to show.

Although rare, she could glimpse something.

Something that was… emotionless...Just like the fallen Sanktah

So this was the man that caught Mostima's heart?

Mostima has fallen twice now. One for breaking the law of Laterano...And one for falling in love with someone.

She needed to know more.

"Did Mostima tell you anything about her?" She asked, "Anything at all?"

Lin Ye hummed and thought about this.

"Nothing that was strange," Lin Ye replied, "She only told what normal strangers would say. Her names, hobbies, what she was."

Diana nodded at what he said. Diana massaged the bridge of her nose in annoyance

"That does sound like what Mostima would always do. Always being so vague," She said with a sigh. Then she stared back at him, "You do know what Mostima really is?"

Lin Ye nodded at her.

"She's a Fallen Angel, or Fallen Sanktah, no?" He asked, "But my knowledge on Fallen Sankta's and the like are limited."

Diana clicked her tongue at this.

"That is quite understandable," She said to him as she leaned closer towards him, "How many Fallen did you ever see in your life?"

Lin Ye didn't need to overthink his answer.

"Only one," He replied, "Mostima is the only Fallen that I've met in my life."

Diana nodded at this.

"I take back what I said about her being a damsel in distress," Her eyes narrowed at him, "With how clueless you are, I do believe that role is best more fitting to you."

And like always the man did something she didn't expect.

He Laughed. Hearing him being mocked, the man just laughed.

"Can't really deny that now," Lin Ye nodded his head.

Although the man was laughing, his amusement was not shared by the woman that was sitting beside him. The white-haired girl was glaring holes at her, if looks can kill, the Liberi would've died a hundred times over, even more.

To not cause any more trouble, she continued on with her explanation.

Although she was conflicted in telling this to a stranger, Mostima trusted him enough to give him her gun and even trusted him enough to try and teach him not just one, but both of her arts, Lock and Key.

"What I am going to tell you is a secret that Laterano hid for hundreds of years," Diana told him in a whisper, "Listen closely to what I am going to tell you. I won't be repeating this ever again."

Lin Ye raised a brow at this. Then he glanced at the person beside him.

"Nian?" Lin Ye called.

This caught her attention and she tore her gaze away from her food and to him.

"Hmm, what is it, Gege?" Nian raised her brow at him.

Lin Ye nudged his head towards the people currently in the store.

"Can you give us some privacy?" Lin Ye asked.

At first, she was confused but after seeing Lin Ye smiling at her, she looked at the people in the store, and finally understood what he meant.

"Sure thing, Gege," She smiled at him.

Nian raised her finger and did a quick snap.

Diana was confused but she soon noticed that the people in the store seemingly ignored them. At first, she thought it was nothing and just a normal occurrence, but when she noticed that some people were just completely missing her like she was not even there and didn't even look at her, she knew something was going on.

She spun her head and stared at the person in front of her. But like always, the man just smiled at her.

"So, please, you can continue." He hummed, "Is this something relating to Mostima in any way?"

The Liberi wanted to ask what was going on but stopped herself from asking when she noticed the stare that she was getting from Nian.

It was like she was telling her that if she didn't continue explaining in the next 10 seconds, she would literally kill her without any hesitation.

"I won't tell anyone, I shall vow that for our mutual friend," He said.

Lin Ye might have misunderstood why she wasn't saying anything. Rather than cause trouble, Diana chose to ignore this display of power and superiority by Nian and focused on Lin Ye instead.

Diana didn't answer immediately but instead asked him a bombshell of a question.

"Do you believe that there are supernatural beings in this world? Gods, in fact."

Lin Ye needed to stop himself from laughing at this question.

With how much interaction he had with people that were regarded as 'Gods', Lin Ye liked to think he was an expert in that subject.

One of those Gods was now currently eating a sundae beside him.

"You can say that," He hummed, "Why do you ask?"

"If you believe it, then it will be much easier for me to explain," Diana said lightly, "Abomination, that's its name, it existed before the establishment of the thirteen rights."

He raised a brow at this.

"Abomination?" Lin Ye asked, "Is that also a god?"

"A god?" Diana shook her head and said, "How is that even possible? That's a demon, the most powerful demon."

"A demon, huh?" Lin Ye nodded thoughtfully, "What does that have to do with Mostima?"

"Because that thing is in Mostima's body as we speak."

Lin Ye's smile immediately disappeared after hearing about what the Liberi told her. He slowly got closer to her and asked her in a serious tone.

"Explain."

Diana nodded.

"Something happened," She explained, "She went against the Law, The very thing that the Sankta have to always follow."

This made his eyes narrow at him.

"The Law." Lin Ye hummed, "I heard about it. It's the reason why Sankta are how they are."

She nodded.

"Good. You know about it," Diana said.

He leaned back in his seat.

"So?" Lin Ye started again, "What Law did she specifically break?"

Diana's face then morphed into one of frustration.

"She attacked her own kin using her own gun."
