Mostima attacked her own kind.
That thought ran around in his mind as he was sitting on the bed of his room. Lin Ye kept on recalling what Diana had told him a few hours ago.
What she told them was something that made him rack his mind now. Although it was dark, Lin Ye could not find the will to go to sleep yet.
The Law.
That was what Diana told him that made Mostima who she was now. Although Lin Ye did not know much of the Law he did know that it was the reason for what Sanktas were like now.
Empathy.
That was what the Angels called when they could literally feel what other Angels feel emotional.
Firearms.
Their affinity for using Arts made them able to use guns.
They were related to this Law.
Although what Diana told him made sense, there was something that made him scratch his head when thinking about it.
When Sanktas fell, they just lost all that made them Angels in the first place.
No Gun Arts.
No Halo and Wings.
No Empathy.
Although rare to happen, that was what the document he read said about the process of a Sankta falling.
There seemed to be something amiss with all of this.
From what he understood, Sanktas just lost their Angel traits when they fell.
Mostima gained Sarkaz's trait instead.
That was not normal even in Fallen's standard.
That was the other thing that Diana said to him came in.
A so-called demon.
Abomination.
It was the reason why Mostima had devil horns and a tail.
Just as he was about to think more about this, he felt something poking at his cheek.
Lin Ye stopped thinking and glanced to his side. He was greeted by the sight of Nian pouting at him while poking him in the cheek with a pen. She was resting on his bed as she was doing this.
"Gege…" She drawled out, "I'm bored!"
Lin Ye raised a brow at her. Then a soft laugh escaped from his lips. Placing his hand on top of Nian's head, Lin Ye lightly petted her. Although Nian still was bored, at least her face softened when he did this.
"Sorry Nian. Can't really help you with that," Lin ye hummed and came up with an idea, "How about writing a draft about your story?"
This only made Nian groan.
"I can't, Gege!" She whined at him, "I don't have any inspiration! That's the problem!"
Lin Ye chuckled at her complaining. He then realized something and lightly narrowed his eyes on her.
"Just curious, why are you in my room?" Lin Ye asked, "Just so you know, you do have your own bedroom in this hotel."
This question confused Nian. She stopped poking him and flopped on her back on his bed. Her eyes glanced at him.
"Why are you asking me this, Gege?" Nian turned her body to face him. She chuckled at him, "Don't we always sleep together before? This is normal."
"…"
How was Lin ye going to explain this to her?
She was a kid back then but Nian was now a full-grown adult now. They needed some privacy. However, Lin Ye had a good guess that Nian did not mind sharing a bed with him.
Seeing that all was hopeless, Lin Ye just gave up and let out a tired sigh. He knew Nian noticed how this was affecting him with how she giggled at him now.
Lin Ye tried to glare at her but when he saw Nian smiling at him while resting on his bed, he couldn't help but soften his expression into a smile. As he was about to see something, he heard something grumbling.
Both his and Nian's eyes were drawn to the source of where the sound came from.
Her stomach.
Realizing this, Nian's face slowly became red as she tried to hide her face away from him by slamming it into the bed.
Lin Ye couldn't stop himself from laughing at this. This only made Nian bury herself even deeper into the bed.
"Hungry?" Finally stopping himself, Lin Ye asked with a smirk, "Want a spicy chicken?"
Although he knew Nian just ate a lot of food today, with her being a different race than him he was not surprised at how much she could put in her stomach.
Nian did not react to his question, but Lin Ye still waited patiently beside her. Then after a while, Lin Ye saw Nian's head nodding.
Lin Ye smiled at this.
"Why don't we go on a walk?" Lin Ye offered this suggestion to her, "Not only can we get something to eat but maybe you can get some inspiration from doing it."
Hearing this, Nian forgot her embarrassment and lifted up her head immediately. Her wide eyes landed on him, and Lin Ye could see sparkles coming out of them as she stared at him.
Suffice it to say, Lin Ye knew that she agreed with him.

Nian happily bit into a fried chicken breast in wrapping as she walked beside Lin Ye in the streets. Although when they brought the chicken, Nian found it lacklustre. Luckily Lin Ye came in prepared and brought a spicy seasoning with him before they left.
Gege was the best.
They did need to inform the rest of the group that they will be going on a late-night walk. As they were walking, Nian noticed that stores were slowly being closed all around them. Not surprising, seeing how late it was now.
Nian was about to add more spiciness to her food when she realised she had already used it all.
She looked to the side and was about to ask Lin Ye for some more. However, she stopped when she noticed that he did not even take a bite from his chicken. His eyes were focused on something in the sky.
Nian followed his gaze and saw it.
The half-moon lit up the dark night sky. The stars around the celestial body seemed to be dancing around it as they twinkled beside it.
Nian tore her gaze away from this site and looked back at Lin Ye. More focused on his eyes.
Those black portals to his soul seemed to glow as they were reflecting the glow above him.
As Lin Ye was in his own world at the moment, he was pulled out from it and back to reality when he felt something gripping his arm, making him stop walking.
Tearing his gaze away from the night sky, Lin Ye looked at his arm and saw a hand on it. His eyes went up from the hand and landed on a worried gaze, staring straight at him.
"Gege," She said to him, "It's dangerous to do that."
Realizing what she meant, Lin ye showed a bit of embarrassment.
"Sorry about that," Lin Ye apologized.
He thought that was enough to satisfy her but she was still on him, he was wrong.
"Gege, why haven't you had your chicken yet?" She asked.
Lin Ye looked down at his hand and true to what she just said, the chicken that was in his hand was still whole. He hummed and looked back at her.
"I am not that hungry it seemed," He explained. Then an idea popped into his mind and Lin Ye held out the food, "Nian, do you want it?"
To his surprise, Nian did not take his bait and kept on staring at him. This made the smile on his face falter a bit. She tugged on his sleeve, making him get closer to her face.
"Is something bothering you?"
Lin Ye's eyes slightly widened upon hearing this. After debating on what to do, he concluded that it was for the best for both of them that Lin Ye just answered truthfully to her.
"It's just, the thing that woman told me keeps me thinking. What is going on? How can I help Mostima?" He sighed to the side, "And am I really able to do anything in the first place?"
Lin Ye then felt the hold that she got on him tightening. He looked at Nian and saw she was narrowing her eyes even more on him.
"I know you can help her," Nian said as a smile slowly bloomed on her face, "You're Gege after all."
Getting caught off guard, his eyes widened as he stared at Nian who was smiling at him now. Lin Ye recovered from this shock and his face softened into a smile of his own. His hand moved on its own placing itself on her head.
"Thanks, Nian," He thanked her as he ran his hand through her hair, "… I needed that."
Nian just smiled and nodded at him.
Lin Ye stopped messing up her hair and turned to the road in front of him. Before he said anything to her, he looked at the wrapped chicken in his hand. Then he took a bite out of it.
After swallowing the food
"Yeah, you were right," Lin Ye chuckled as he stared at her, "It isn't spicy enough."
This made the smile on Nian's face shine enough to light up the streets. She ran to him and snaked both of her arms around one of his.
"I know!" She gleefully said to him, "Gege! Do you have more spices on you?! I ran out!"
Rather than saying anything to her, Lin Ye rummaged through the inner pocket of his jacket and pulled out another bottle of spice.
"Of course I do," He smirked, "I am your Gege after all."
Nian smiled at this and hugged his arms harder now.
They continued on as they talked, adding spices to their food as they did. As they were eating their spicy chicken while walking in the night, Lin Ye had something pop into his mind.
"Hey, Nian," Glancing at Nian, Lin Ye called her, "Can I ask you something?"
Just as Nian was about to take another bite, she stopped and raised a brow at him.
"Sure Gege," Nian nodded at him.
Lin Ye seemed pleased hearing this.
"You remember the demon that Diana told us about?" He asked, "Abomination was its name."
Nian hummed, trying to remember what he was saying.
"Yeah," She nodded back at him.
"Between you and it, who's stronger?" He asked.
Nian suddenly showed a strange expression.
"Why ask such a question?"
"Just curious," Lin Ye shrugged his shoulders at her, "Is that a strange question to ask?"
"I think so," Nian walked in front of Lin Ye with her hands behind her back, "I don't know anything about that demon except for its name."
"That's true," Lin Ye scratched his head, "But I think you should be better than it."
This caught her by surprise.
"Why?" Nian asked.
Lin Ye smiled at her.
"You're my little sister," He hummed, "Of course, I would be rooting for you."
This made her speechless and made her stop walking.
Lin Ye continued walking and walked past her with a smirk on his face. He even gave her a light pat on her head when he was her head.
When he was behind her, Nian spun around and hugged his arm.
"That was not fair!" Nian said with a smile on her face, "That was a surprise attack!"
Lin Ye let her hug his arm, as they continued on their walk.
"Payback," He chuckled as he rubbed her head, "I just used the words that you said to me."
Nian could only laugh in delight.
As they continued to walk, Nian finally realized something.
"Hey Gege," She stared up at him while his arm was still trapped in her gasps, "Where are we going?"
Lin Ye smiled as he glanced at her.
"Well, I think we should get more information about Mostima's situation." He then looked in front, "And Diana did tell us where to find it. We are going to the person in question."
Nian followed his gaze and her eyes widened at what was in front of her.
It was a large building and with how many lights and guards were crawling around the place, Nian knew this place was secure.
Nian looked back at Lin Ye, who had a smirk on his face. Feeling her gaze on him, Lin Ye looked back at her.
"I hope your story had something relating to a prison break-in. You will get a lot of inspiration from this."
