{ Alliance (Part 1) }
[ Two Days Later... ]
[ 125 km west of Dracorell's Central City ]
Recapturing a settlement is never easy, Stella thought.
And here they were, resting on camps stationed inside a forest several kilometers from the said settlement.
"Princess, the scouts have returned, albeit with a few causalities."
A Dracorellian soldier said after she arrived, making the princess nod her head.
Once the scouts have reported, the princess and her brother did what they needed to do.
Plan for the assault.
The settlement that was overrun by dragons, was heavily guarded by dragons, and based on an Eikolnian Scouts, all the Lis Humans were enslaved and all put on different locations to be forced to do any jobs the dragons wanted. The rest is on your dark imaginations. The Eikolnian scouts even hesitated to tell the rest of the details and left the darkest ones off.
"Stella, let's just give up the original plan of attacking them at night."
Meteo said, trying to comfort his sister. It definitely was horrible, and knowing what slaves were, he definitely felt bad for those fellow Lis Humans.
Stella's figure trembled, before she slammed the table in frustration.
"This isn't right. Definitely not! Dragons were supposed to be wise and intelligent! Not... like what they have become now! Why is this happening!?"
Stella cried out, being completely frustrated at this.
They, the Dracorellian Royals were descendants of a dragon and a Lis Human being united, and their Kingdom was made due to the rule of their ancestors.
They saw dragons as kind, merciful, wise.
But...
But now?
She wanted proof. Not just through curiosity, but also because of a certain One Winged Dragon.
(... Child, not all dragons are what you think of. If we were all what you thought of, then all of this wouldn't have happened in the first place. Our true king had fallen hundreds of years ago, due to that, most of the dragons have started to show their true colors without fear.)
"Launch the assault, now! Surround the town, subjugate all the dragons present on the town and free the Lis captured on the said settlement!"
"Of course, princess."
The Dracorellian Soldier left, with Meteo being silent, only smirking once Stella looked at him.
He embraced his sister in the notion of comforting her, in which she replied by leaning forwards and sobbing.
She did not know this, but her chest was tightening up. A horrible feeling starts to well up inside her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, the assault was successful, albeit 750 Lis Humans died, and 1,500 Lis Humans were heavily injured. And out of 1,028 dragons, 950 dragons died and the rest were heavily injured.
Speaking of which, several hundred Lis Humans, especially the Princess of the Dracorell Kingdom were traumatized.
It turns out that something really bad happened here and what the Eikolnian Scouts reported were very true.
Several townspeople were all thankful towards the soldiers from both nations, though the event had a significant impact towards the dragons' reputation a few days after this event.
In a dark room, Stella approached a tall, muscular man with her rapier unsheathed and tightly gripped, her glare was cold as steel, and her eyes became slitted and her crimson-colored hair waved.
"So, the princess has awakened her innate powers as a halfling, hm? It is an honor to die by your hands... if only we fight each other..."
The draconic man said, not caring about whatever happens to himself.
Stella roared in anger, and proceeded to kill the man immediately by decapitation.
The man had been responsible for making the captured and enslaved Lis suffer for weeks, so he definitely deserved a quick death.
Feeling done, she sighed and left, feeling strange for remorselessly killing someone and even became relieved for that.
The Eikolnian soldiers then stationed themselves on the said town and protected it.
A few days later, Stella and Meteo Dracorell arrived at Magus, the Capital City of Eikoln, where pressing matters await.
