"Then of course, there's getting Snow's body too... that might be an awkward conversation.", Jason admitted as everyone looked back to him. "Wait, you didn't tell the Dwarves already?", Emma looked at him.
"That we have already decided to revive them from our meeting earlier. No, I haven't. They're at the cottage, presuming to get a return letter or something. You saw their letter like the rest of us. They have put Snow White in a glass coffin, just like from the movie...I don't know if they actually buried her or put her in the cottage. They were gone for the last five years, and they had Snow's animal friends guarding her all this time...", Jason spoke with a sigh.
"Still, better we get their permission to do this... last thing we want is for them to think someone took her body. They'd be devastated and probably want revenge, even if she was alive and well again.", Logan said.
Emma nodded, "All the same, if the dwarves are at the cottage, I'll go first and tell them while you take Ferdinand's body out of the grave, alright?". The others nodded in agreement, and Emma then made a portal to Andalasia, glad to know that with the descriptions of the cottage from their recounting of their lives during their journey with the United Talons, not knowing that Emma and the team has seen it already, thanks to the movie.
She stepped through, and smiled, waving to Bashful who has been working on the gardens, "Emma! Guys, Lady Emma is here!", calling out through the door, and footsteps patter and clatter throughout the cottage, and the dwarves came out, with Doc smiling, "Lady Emma, welcome to our cottage.".
Emma nodded, "Thank you, Doc. It's nice to be here, but my visit is not the reason I'm here...This morning, earlier, I have gotten your letter from two days ago, and I was surprised to see that you were asking for Snow White and Ferdinand to be restored to life after hearing about Ariel and my cousin's revivals.".
Doc sighed, "Ah...I see. I suppose it's a big thing to ask...", understanding both sadly and hopefully, "Still, could you... do it?".
Emma grinned, "We already are. The rest of my team is standing by with Ferdinand's body. It took a while, but we found him. They're waiting to come through, and if you have Snow White's body close by, we can restore them both to life today.".
"Well, certainly, we'd be more than willing to help. For her to be brought back... might truly bring a smile to Happy's face for sure.", Doc chuckled as he held his cap.
Happy nodded with a grim neutral set of lips, not quite a frown or a smile, and Dopey spoke, "Snow White's our sister, if not related.". Even if Emma knew that Dopey is not mute in this world, it still surprises her that Dopey's voice is like a mature teenager in tone.
Emma chuckled, "Alright, then. Let's bring them home.", before creating her portal again, nodding to the team on the other side with the crude coffin that held Ferdinand's body, and they walked through, and the portal closed after them.
Grumpy narrowed his eyes, "You found him where we marked him?", and Logan nodded, "Wasn't easy with all the swords everywhere, but your descriptions helped out greatly.".
Doc smiled, "Excellent!", before looking at his brothers, "Boys, let's bring her out to the sunshine.", and the group nodded excitedly as they ran back into the cottage.
"Do you guys have like a mine cart you could use to bring her out?", Emma asked as Doc nodded, "How do you think we got her in? She's a lot heavier than she looks."
"Yeah, because how much does that casket weigh?", Emma gave a small chuckle. Doc smirked, "Well, we are skilled miners and crafters, and we wanted the best for Snow White. We don't regret it at all.".
A few minutes later, the casket of Snow White came out of the cottage on the mine cart, and with grunts, they lifted the casket down to the ground.
Emma was shocked to see that Snow White's body is incredibly intact, and Doc chuckled, "It didn't hurt that we put a few runes on the glass to protect her from the elements even with the animals guarding her all those years for us.".
"Smart.", Emma nodded, and smiled, "Could you please remove the glass?", and the dwarves removed the glass. The team then put Ferdinand's body next to the casket, side by side with Snow White's body, with Jason subtly conjuring a shield on Zuri's belly.
"Alright, boys, we need focus, so go into the cottage and stay there. It's gonna be really bright, so close the shutters and door.", Emma nodded with a firm look, and Doc nodded, "Heard, Lady Emma. Boys, let's go inside and do what she says.".
The dwarves looked quite hesitant, but obeyed their eldest brother, and went inside the cottage, closing the shutters and door. The team then resumed their positions, forming a circle.
As like the previous times, they performed the ritual words on the force of true love, on each person's two of their dragon lives, and they saw two blue wisps appearing above the bodies, and upon the last person's ritual words which is Zuri, the wisps fused back into the bodies.
A white bright flash came, nearly blinding the team as the casket and coffin were destroyed into ashes, and a minute later, Ferdinand, all intact and healthy, with no club injuries on him, his bones set back to normal, woke up, staring in amazement as he sat up weakly in his old army uniform before gasping, looking at the casket where Snow White laid, looking like 20 years old now when she was 14 years old formerly, and she then stirred, rosy and healthy, not pale sickly like before when she was poisoned.
The group took a deep breath as it was an exhausting procedure on them and just waited to see what the two of them would do. Ferdinand was deathly still as he kept watching Snow as she slowly started to wake up from what might have well been a long sleep in a way.
Snow rubbed her eyes, blinking, starting to sit up when she stumbled, and Ferdinand swiftly ran to her, catching her in his arms, using a burst of energy, and Snow looked at him, "You're alive...", and Ferdinand smiled, "We're alive...You're more beautiful than before...You were always 14 up there, but now...you're older, and somehow, you're even lovelier than a bouquet of roses.".
Snow breathed slowly and deeply, and smiled so widely, "I'm home! Ferdinand, we're alive!", and Ferdinand laughed warmly, and kissed her deeply which made Snow blush at the end of the kiss, "You can't help yourself surprising me, can you?".
Ferdinand smiled, leaning his forehead on hers, "Nope. I love you, Snow White.", and Snow smiled warmly, "I love you too, Ferdinand.", before finally noticing the team who is only smiling and even crying a bit at the scene.
Zuri muttered, smiling, with tears falling down her face, "Darn those hormones. Even better than I ever imagined!", and the team knew what she was talking about. The reunion/true love's kiss scene in the movie was quite different than this.
"Uh, the scene there or your hormones?", Logan laughed as Zuri dead legged him, "Ah! Kidding, kidding!".
"Well, if that's the case then, might be better we leave for the moment and give the two reunited lovers some time to themselves in the flesh once more.", Emma suggested.
Ferdinand smiled at Emma, holding Snow's hand in his, "I would never thank you enough, Lady Emma, nor your team for bringing us back. And oh, just you know, before our souls came down for the ritual, we had talked with Flynn aka Eugene, and he is happy he's next, and that Fredrick didn't want to come, saying that he has gotten to know Flynn properly, and that he's happy where he is.".
Emma glanced at Logan who only smirked, and she then chuckled, nodding, "Okay, we will respect King Fredrick's wishes. Flynn aka Eugene will have his turn next month on Rapunzel's birthday. Of course, there's still one more left to figure out...".
Snow replied warmly, "True love is one type of good magic, and good magic prevails dark magic...Maybe you can find a way to change dark magic into good magic...", and Jason thoughtfully shrugged, "Good point. Either way, nice to have you two back. Congratulations,", before winking and bellowing, "Dwarves! Come out!".
The door opened, and the dwarves came out, all kinds of emotions flying all over the place as they reunited with Snow White and Ferdinand. Emma smiled and nudged the others to follow her as they then took another portal to one of the chain portals arches that links kingdom to kingdom and headed home to their homes.
Indeed, Ferdinand and Snow White reclaimed their lost kingdoms throughout the rest of May, and actually took the Pelekai family as part of the household in Ferdinand's castle, raising his brother's twin children, and Snow's castle was decided to be a vacation place for all people, having heard about castle rentals from Frederick, Jason and Logan's adoptive dad back up in the heavens.
June came and went with Zuri announcing the news of her twins to Ariel and Eric, and they were so surprised at first, but got so happy then, overjoyed to be parents all over again, and finally, Rapunzel's birthday came, and the team was invited for the city-wide party and the lantern show, yet Rapunzel hasn't known yet that she is to be in for the biggest surprise of her life.
"Amazing to see it up close, isn't it?", Jason asked as he was with Rapunzel as they watched the lantern show. Jason lost the draw of who was to be with her to keep her distracted from her surprise which is why he was with her on one of the castle's balconies, watching the show in Corona City.
Rapunzel smiled wryly, "It always is, and I couldn't ever change it for the people loves it, so it's permanently a tradition, even if it hurts at times...", and sighed lightly, "You know you don't have to be up here to keep me company. I mean, I am sure Mulan and your kids must be looking for you down there somewhere.".
Jason squeezed her shoulder, "I'm your friend, Rapunzel, even if you're the queen, and besides, nobody likes to be alone on their birthday, not even you, I am sure. And besides, Ping is probably passed out after all the treats he would have sneaked in from the dessert table, and Mulan is watching over him with Dove distracted by the lanterns.".
Rapunzel chuckled wryly, "No, nobody likes to be alone...Trust me, I know...Even with M-Gothel at the tower, and Pascal to distract me with games and such, I felt alone...until it all changed with him...Eugene...I know it was only a few days, but somehow, I felt like I knew him longer than that, you know?".
Jason nodded, "Like you belonged with him instantly, right?", and Rapunzel smiled weakly, "Yeah...He trusted me so much, even after I gave my secret...Telling me so much about why he wanted to be different, to be not seen as a thief, why he changed his name...", staring off at the lanterns.
"You changed him, and he changed for you...", Jason nodded, and Rapunzel sighed, "Six years ago, on this day, we had so much fun, exploring, dancing, and then the lanterns...Oh, god, it was the best night of my life...until it changed badly...It was my fault.", looking down, not hearing very light footsteps yet Jason heard, and he looked back to see Flynn aka Eugene, now adorned in new-smelling clothes, alive and uninjured, no sign of the dagger wound anywhere. He was brought back earlier this afternoon, thanks to Jason and the rest of the team.
Trading nods as Rapunzel continued, distracted, "If I hadn't forced him to take me out to see the lanterns, he wouldn't have been killed by her...", as Jason and Eugene traded places quickly and swiftly, and Jason smiled, leaving the couple, with Rapunzel still speaking, "I never got the chance to tell him that he was my new dream, to kiss him, to be courted by him, to get married, to be a family, to see him become a father...to grow old with him.".
"I think you just did...", Eugene whispered as Rapunzel quickly threw her head around so fast that she almost got whiplash from it as she turned to see Eugene looking at her. "Miss me, princess?", he teased as she was just completely stunned. "Well, come on, aren't you at least going to say something? I got brought back for you thanks to the Talons if that's what you're about to ask.".
Rapunzel stared at him, and raised her hand, reaching up to touch Eugene's check, and finally breathed when it came into contact, and tears started to fall, "E-Eugene?".
Eugene smiled, "That's right, blondie, don't wear my name out.", and Rapunzel gave a sob as Eugene reached out to touch and caress her brown locks, fingering the crown on her head, and chuckled, "Brunette queen suits you, Rapunzel.", with his trademark smolder.
Rapunzel cried out, "Eugene!", grabbing him into a hug as she then kissed him for the first time, and Eugene, surprised at first, but then rolled with it, smiling through the kiss as he kissed her back, finally feeling like he has found his place, his true place, and Rapunzel felt like she was complete again.
"Yeah... I'm here...", Eugene sighed as he rubbed her back. "Sorry for making you suffer all this time...", he apologized.
"I should be the one to be sorry...", Rapunzel said as he waved his hand. "Okay, how about that we're both sorry then and just try to pick up where we left off, alright?", Eugene grinned.
Rapunzel laughed softly, "I think I can do that...By the sun, I really missed you.", looking at him with awe and happiness in her eyes that has somehow gotten brighter than before. Eugene smiled warmly, "I know...I missed you too. So, care to give me a tour? I only saw the crown room, the dungeons, and the top view.".
Rapunzel smiled so brightly, "Yes! Come on, Eugene! Wait, we have to see Maximus and Pascal. They're going to be out of their minds!", and Eugene raised an eyebrow with a smirk, "Blondie, we have all the time now, and besides, I want to be with you, if that's not too much to ask?".
"No, no, you're right.", Rapunzel nodded before squeezing his hand with a smile, "I don't want to end this dream.", and Eugene pouted, "Rapunzel, how am I supposed to convince you that I am really here?".
Rapunzel blinked in surprise at the familiar expression before smiling softly, "You don't have to convince me of that, but if you are asking...", leaning up to whisper into his ear, and Eugene's eyes bulged, and gulped, "But you are queen!".
Rapunzel smirked, "True, but I am a woman first of all.", before giggling, "Come on, let's start the tour!", tugging his hand, heading back into the castle. And so, the surprise went well, and ended with a bang at the end.
The team enjoyed the lantern show with their families, and headed home, with half a burner in the back of their minds of figuring out who's the last to be restored yet went to enjoy their lives through the rest of summer.
They witnessed Haku and Pocahontas's wedding in July and were among the first to see Haku crying when two things happened. Koda called him 'Hapa' for the first time, and Pocahontas told him that a miracle happened when he thought all was lost within him, meaning that Pocahontas is pregnant, only a month along.
The whole team congratulated them, with their families happy to receive more family members to called 'niece' or 'nephew' like they did with Koda and the other kids of all the families. Then August came, with the pregnancy of Jasmine coming to an end. They didn't choose to ask for the gender, deciding to keep it a surprise, and not even Haku knew for they only used a normal healer.
Of course, Jasmine's pregnancy certainly didn't come easy as she perhaps struggled more than anyone else in the group. At first, it didn't look too bad in several ways when her water first broke, but then things clearly were off as Jasmine was now going almost a full day in labor and now, she and Logan were greatly concerned.
Jasmine was now exhausted, her throat raw and dry from crying out from all the contractions, and she wasn't even fully dilated. They tried everything from walking, using the bath, eating curry, massaging, napping, and even changing positions.
She looked at Logan desperately, "Anything?", after trying some squats, now laying on her side, and Logan shook his head, "No...nothing...". Jasmine sobbed, "Did Jafar curse me with that staff when I was his slave? This feels like my fault...".
Logan shushed her gently, rubbing her back, "Hey, hey, it's not your fault. You strived through so much. This is our child, and you can do this.", and Jasmine looked at him, "But what else can we do?".
Logan frowned, "Of all the days, Haku is saddled with different births today in several kingdoms including Tadashi and Nancy...", thinking furiously about the information he often glanced at the computer back on Earth, and then blinked as he remembered something.
"There's something we can do...", Logan spoke quietly, and Jasmine looked at him, "What is it?". Logan exhaled, "Orgasmic birth.".
Jasmine looked at him funny, "Orgasmic birth?", with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but we don't really have many more options at the moment; it's already been most of the day and that child still is not wanting to come out, or there's something more serious that's causing this problem.", Logan said.
