Ziden POV
Ah, Winter, what a pain in the ass the season is, the cold, the snow and the demons and monsters often being of a more chilly variety than I am used to dealing with. Or rather, prefer dealing with. The snow hasn't come down yet but in a few days, Japan is gonna be a snowy wonderland of kids, frost and snow.
But that wasn't on my mind right now, what was on my mind right now, was the job I had to do today, the cleaning out of Goblin kind from a japanese bunker that has been causing trouble lately, snatching up people, doing their gobliny is what they are.
More troublesome, is the woman currently overtaking my lap and turning my shirt that she stole last night, into an oversized blanket.
" You know, I keep thinking you Earthlings are inferior idiots, which you are alot of the time but man, your clothing are honestly great." Kaguya's decided to be the one to take over my lap this morning, to the chagrin of the other mage who happened to boredly be flipping through a tome she got from my library.
" I get that, but do ya have to be in my damn lap to enjoy it?" Course the main probably I had, was that it was, only my shirt she was wearing. I know this is a house full of women now, but this feels somewhat a bit too free for a princess.
" Yeah, no one here wants to see your fat bare ass around the home, Moon bitch, put on some damn pants." And of course Mokou seemed to be awake this morning early, but then again, she was always early to rise, early to fall though now she didn't have a forest to guide people through often, guess she is gonna find a new hobby to fall into.

There was a not so subtle bounce of the chest there, next to patchouli, Kaguya really is a stacked monster now that I think of it, have to have something to be proud of I guess. Of course, her standing up was nice, but she should have probably not stood up considering she caught a foot in the face in that instant.
" Shut it, ya oversized melon chested cow. Don't ya have better things to do that boast about your chest these days." Not that Mokou was unimpressive or anything, but she was more a, ass over chest girl genetically. Of course, I didn't much bother to say anything.

" Honestly, your inner desires come out and you leap onto the nearest guy, and here I thought you were more composed than Marisa, I swear." Getting judged by a fellow Magic peer always hurts, judging by how she just lurched back.
" I- Cannot control how I acted under that Oni's control! How did I know that I would do such vile, shameless things under her control!" Well, she does have a point there, no one ever expects the massage to turn into pound the lonely doll lady. Because of magic mist no less. I was gonna say something but-
" Hey, Boss. I got a group of costumed kids here saying they are here to see you." Ah, that must be them now, ah well, might as well get this over with now so I can go back to resting.
" Send them in for me." I honestly shouldn't have expected much but what I witnessed was a surprise, a group of 6 teens before me, some had this air of shyness, the Fighter and Archer had a cocky vibe to them but everyone else seemed, hmm, I guess humbled is the word since they seemed calm
The Fighter wore the typical fighter gear, Leather armor around their body,head band holding up their spiky brown hair.
THe Archer, long blonde pony tail, light weight chainmail armor and a oak bow and arrows hanging off of his back, that smug face as he is eying me up, he's gonna be annoying.
The warrior stands with Admiration towards me it seemed, that viking cap with the horns and leather armor that barely hung onto his chubby body.
The Cleric, or probably a Priestess, not sure what they call each other, was wearing the typical white garbs, golden blonde hair and a large staff. She seems shy, like she would piss herself when frightened.
The mage had stark bright hair, for some reason, I could see that Patchouli took an interest in her, oh boy. That's either the look of a teacher seeing a secret genius, or a cougar going after a younger partner
And the last was a purple haired girl with a ponytail, a scarf around her neck that gave off the vibe of her being a monk alongside her clothing. Seems native
" So this is the guy who is gonna be overseeing our first mission? This goddamn plebian?" And the archer immediately starts with his ego.
" Plebian!? This is Ziden Icrim, a Star Rank! One of the first! Slayer of Oscura, one of the Legends during the Why Incident! Defender of the Valley of Gods! H-hey! After we finish this, can I get your autograph?" Well, one person is respectful atleast. A bit too kiss assy, but Respectful.
" Whoa, calm that down buddy, only I can throat him as hard as you are right now." Kaguya, what in the goddamn fu-
" Ah shove that up your ass! Star Rank, my rusty dagger! I know all about you, Icrim!" Oh, the Fighter is speaking to me right now. Lemme guess, he is about to say. " Its no secret that you didn't climb the ranks at all, you just paid the people up top to reach that rank. Look at you, bet you couldn't even beat a slim-"
I basically had enough at this point and I shoved my foot right into his chest and watched him crash right out of the wall of the room and into the snow outside. Oh. Snow? Damn, did I underestimate when the snow was gonna come down.
Stepping out of the hole, I see his allies pouring out after their apparent leader. " Listen, I don't care if ya think I climbed the ranks by paying off people. Its stupid to even believe that considering alot of my actions are recorded and even seen live when I do my work in a city. If you're gonna believe bullcrap, go ahead, don't spout it in the face of the guy just happens to be the guy to see if you're gonna be hunters in the future."
THe priestess, I noticed casted a healing spell on him, Mend Wounds or Cure. not sure which, no wait, that's cure. So she is using that school of magic. Hmm, their levels are all around 7 or so.
" Tch!" And I watched him slowly get back up, grimacing at me the whole time with the Archer even keeping his bow on me. I didn't even have to turn to know that Kaguya had her finger pointed to the back of his head.
" Please do it, I honestly like splattering the brains of idiots over snow covered fields." And I could hear him lowering that bow.
" Minus 10 points for you both by the way." And I see them audibly flinch rfrom that. You need to have atleast 40 points to pass into being hunters or you go right back to classes and studying for a month. " Alright, did you guys pack materials for the mission, potions, Revival tomes, Phoenix Downs, anything?"
" Pfft, of course not, we have a Priestess, she can keep us healed without the need of wasting money on items, we used all our money on our gear." I could not help but pinch my nose at the knowledge of this, oh god, these kids are gonna die.
Meiling is gonna be joining us for this venture while Mokou watches the gate,. the instant she heard ' there are idiots continually trying to kill us' she hopped onto that job instantly. probably because she just wants to fight random people.
" Come on you idiots, lets get this tragedy in the wait, over and done with."
Meiling's POV
A long walk through the snow is what we were now dealing with, thankfully I went with my pants today because it is quite frigid out here and all while I am being talked with by the girl who calls herself Monk.
She kept asking such odd questions about how I got to be a Martial artist and how many classes I had to change to get there? Ziden did mention something about hunters usually taking Job titles to form out how they can form their fighting styles. But I really just kinda, got into this from just training and fighting, I don't have these, levels and class things.
Hunters are odd beings but we did eventually reach our destination as two men in suits seemed to have stopped us. " Hold it, dis is restricted area, gonna need you guys to leave."
" Shove it grandpa! We're here on official hunter business!" And Fighter has already gone up to the guy who I am getting bad vibes from.
" We're the Hunters sent here to clean out the Goblin Infesation this Bunker/Research Site has. I'm here to oversee their progress. So is she." And he even points at me, the men looked at each other for a moment before stepping away.
" Alright but wecoming with ya to make sure ya don't do anything funny in there." Right, not sure what we can do in such an old place.
It did not take us long to enter down into the base, heading down a long series of stairs while I noticed the Boss walking next to me, ordering the rookies to lead ahead.
" Its obvious those two are yakuza." Yeah, even I figured that out. " Let them be behind us, the Gobbies will take care of em for us, just watch your back."
Well, its just goblins,. can't be that dangerous, even in Gensokyo they aren't anything to worry about, so I am sure they aren't-
" So, Mister Ziden, I've never, faced Goblins before, can you tell us about them?" And I noticed the blonde girl was speaking, a Priestess. They look different from the types I know, definitely not like Reimu at all.
" From their early life to becoming adults, 2 months of our time, they are like stories you have heard, nasty lil bastards that shank, stab and devour people and livestock." Sounds about right but, 2 months of our time? " Once they hit 2 years of age, they gain intelligence, equal to High function human adults, Scientists basically." Huh.
" Yeah, heard the older ones are really smart, like they can make fully functioning guns with funky bullets that like, explode inside of you to tear your insides apart." What...was the Archer talking about.
" Yeah, they hit genius tier and can talk and invent." GHRK! Oh, I heard that, the guys behind us got snatched. The rusty ground beneath us, blood and waste but...Goblins of the outside world...they sound like the kappa. " Anything from full mech suits to tanks. They're neutral when adults, as its their choice to join human society or simply be assholes. The young, are always feral and chaotic. Hence why we are here."
This long hallway, its definitely a bit too crowded. For a hand to hand fighter like me and the girl, this would be tough, all these rusted open doors and these weird tables I see in there. its like those tables Sakuya used to cut up Gappies on for the mistress' food.
CLANG!
A loud noise immediately caught our ears, as we looked ahead and saw the Fighter almost dropping his blade from swinging it around so much to show off to his allies. " Hey you dumbass, stop swinging that overly long sword in this tight corrider!"
" Hey, it looks cool! Sides, you got an overly long sword, so who are you to yell at me!"
" Because one, my sword is ultra sharp, it doesn't bounce off of the environment, it cleaves through it. And 2, why did you bring a longsword instead of a shortsword, you know we are going to be indoors in cramped spaces. That shit is gonna get you killed." He always speaks with such knowledge but the fighter merely coughs before oleading he group on.
" These kids are gonna get wasted in here." I heard him utter under his breath, honestly, they just might not survive this day.
More stairs we went down, the more cleaner the place was, well, clean was an stretch, the materials of the walls had less cracks and the rooms were cleaner but blood and death were still down here a plenty and I noticed the Fighter stopped.
The hallway we stood in was cramped like before but I noticed it ahead, the small child sized creature that stood at the end of the hallway, green, pickle like skin and a brown cloth around the waist to hide its bits, and a small knife, seems there was 3 of them down the hall.
" Likely guards. Go ahead kids, time to start the slaughter." At his words, the kids all got serious and focused on what came next
I watched them surprisingly move like a well oiled machine, the sickening crunch of bone crushed by steel hit my ears as I watched that axe cleave through one of the goblins. A Swift arrow through the skull of the other, and a sword through the chest of the other.
3 slumped bodies that dropped to the floor and gold coins soon spinning out of their blood and flying into their pockets? How is money flying out of the bodies like that and into their pockets.
" Ah shit, there was something I forgot. I never got us Loot Rings, the Money Drop is useless without it. Goddamn, thanks for reminding me." now that I think about it, odd rings they were wearing as they stepped over the corpses of the goblins.
The splashing of blood coated my boots and I can safely say i was not a big fan of it, I should have worn thicker shoes like Sakuya suggested. after a few bits of walking, I could see idols of bone and remains along the way in this bigger room, well, I say bigger but it was more like a foyer but the ceiling was slightly higher but we were no longer cramped in a hallway.
" Whoa, what a creepy place. but it looks like we are at the heart of it." Archer spoke while looking at the countless open doors.
" From how open this place was, must have been a foyer or meeting area, with tons of either testing areas or even the dorms." Mage was speaking now as she looked around, they had all split up but were on guard.
" Tch, what does it matter if it was or not, this place smells. I'm ready to get this done so we can move onto better stuff, like killing dragons or some shit." The Archer was grumbling but when I looked over at him from the entrance, I noticed a red dot moving on his forehead.
"ARCHER, GET DOWN!" I heard Monk scream but it was way too late.
BANG! SPLAT!
I witnessed his head vanish into an explosion of red mist and meaty chunks, his tongue flailing upwards in to the heaven while blood sprayed and pooled from his head before he splatted down onto the floor.
" YAAAAAAAAHHH!" I heard the Priestess scream from not only seeing the sight of her ally dying but a goblin on her back about to cleave out her eye, luckily, Monk was quick to kick the goblin to the floor and shatter its neck with a stomp as she immediately brought the healer to the back near us.
" There you are! Fire!" Flames danced around her and a weak fireball fired through the dark room and smashed into a goblin that was hiding upon a tall bookcase, holding a weird long object. But when the fire trailed along, we saw them, the horde of Goblins that stood between us, of varying heights, but all wielding knives, daggers and shortswords.
" H-holy hell. They were in here, waiting on us this whole time in the dark." A snap of the fingers over Warrior's voice as fires appeared in the air.
" Your mission, is to destroy this nest and slaughter all the Goblins within here pass the test. Fight hard, but pace your stamina! Mission Start!" Ziden's booming voice sent the group into a frenzy and I quickly felt an arm yanking me back. " Do not interfere until I say so. It matters not if they are one down."
I had to bite back my emotions and drive to fight right now, but he was right, this was their battle. I have to see how they would go but it seems that the Priestess was shaken up badly.
" N-no, w-we haven't even been, hooked up to the Revival System yet. A-archer's gone forever." Revival system...didn't Ziden say something about that?
" Tch, its alright, we'll all live and get home together! Lets slaughter these bastards!" And Fighter went right into the fray when I heard the goblins scream, the fool! He leapt right into the fray with that sword clumsily swinging about.
But those clumsy swings did their work though i saw, blood was being splattered along the ground and corpses were piling up but he was clearly panic swinging. And Monk was trying to get in between her kicks and punches but the way he was swinging that sword, there was no way for her to get in.
" Fighter! Stop swinging your sword so wildly, I can't get in close!" Monk was doing her best but it seemed he was only getting deeper and deeper into that horde of goblins.
" Well, he's dead." Huh? What do you mean by th-
CLANG!
Oh, that's what he meant, that sword hit against the low hanging ceiling and left his hand and I saw the gaze of horror on his face when it was leaving him and those goblins leaping towards him, like time itself had stopped flowing.
All I could hear, was his screams and what followed.
" ARRRRGGGGHH HAAAAAAHHHHHHH GEEEEEERGGG!" Flesh tore so easily against steel and supernatural force that it wasn't funny, seeing all of that blood spray between that goblin pile as they tore him apart under it. And Priestess immediately ran to him, green lights dancing against her staff.
Monk was on a war path to save him, with brutal kicks coming in strong that was immediately stopped by something even Ziden was surprised to see. " A Hobgoblin's here?"
" Well well well now. Wut have we 'ere, buncha humes mucking about in our 'ome and killing our friends?" It talks? And his hand grips down onto her leg and slams her against the wall, letting me hear the loud crack of her bones against the stone. " Awfully fucking rude guests aren't ya!" And another slam to the floor before tossing her nto the floor, watching her twitch and land in the horde of goblins who had their knives raised around her twitching and horrified mass.
" Well now, ain't this interesting." Another voice, a small goblin was seen coming out of that back room, with several goblins holding those long gun things in their hands, even passing them out among the goblins. " We got ourselves some humans to play with." He talked more calm than the other one, less thick an accent. And I saw Warrior running right at him, with that axe cleaving through countless of the goblins between him and the talking goblin. " How rude."
BANG!
Another loud bang and I saw a spray of red coming out of the warrior's shoulder, screaming from the impact. But that wasn't the end of it. because I soon witnessed the wound explode like a explosion spell, his right armor was gone, and his entire right side had exploded outwards, leaving his insides exposed as the goblins carried his twitching, barely living body to the goblin, as I watched him put a weird grey seed into his body.
" Now, lets see what happens here. Greelok. Let us slaughter them." We watched Fighter's body began to violently spasm and shake, blood pooling to the ground under him as weird metal parts exploded from him like weird healing tendrils, steel taking part where flesh should have been.
Priestess was screaming in terror and even Mage was horrified before a bullet slammed into her shoulder and gut and knocked her to the floor. Seemed that those rounds were normal since they didn't explode inside of her.
" NO!" Priestess was quick to run over to her and quickly started using healing magic on her, the wounds closing but the mage seemingly still in pain. " I, I healed her, thank, thank God."
" Don't thank him yet, you only skin deep healed her,, she's still bleeding on the inside. Curaga!" I watched a series of glowing lights surround the Mage as I could see her face instantly shifting into relief as I watched him step forward with his blade Drawn
My eyes focused on the Warrior who had no regained his arm, metallic and more tendrilly, his right eye a glassy tube that showed a glowing red eye as he gazed at us. " Meiling. lets clean house. Priestess, Mage, stay behind us."
I barely had a chance to react before I saw the bloodshed, bodies torn apart and the frame of Monk knocking my right onto my ass. " Oh!" I was quick to roll and quickly set her down, she was still alive? Thank god!
" I've got a potion!" i watched the Priestess quickly go in and heal her comrade by making her drink a potion, her body slowly forcing itself back together while I focused more on our foes before us.
Boss Theme ( Final Fantasy 6)
Inhale deep, let the qi flow through my body and strike a goblin square in the chest, watching its back explode out from the sheer strike and I waste no time in my follow ups, flowing kicks that tore through their tiny bodies like a knife through butter.
"M-meiling, watch out!" And immediately heard why Priestess was scremaing when I felt my foot being caught.
" Goodness, thought ya might 'ave learned from your gal pal there that kickin' is gonna get ya kill-" The difference between me and the girl, is the vast difference of our strength.
Now when I said, he shouldn't have caught my kick. He should have, because he kinda noticed it.
" COR BLIMEY, WHAT THE SHIT 'APPENED TO ME 'RM!?" Well, I kicked with so much force that it would have torn a human clean in half and it seems that Goblins, even that big don't seem to have increased that durablity against supernatural force. But his arm was basically shattered into pieces, bones jutting out and barely even able to hold my foot.
The Chi that flowed through my leg, basically exploded through that arm on impact and he barely had a chance to react before my leg connected to his head and I watched the tearing of greed flesh from the strike and the explosion of red that followed.
" Oh shit, the kids have some nasty back up! Cyborgnite, kill!" What the hell is a Cyborgn- OOF!
A solid strike to my gut that sent me smashing into the wall as I look to see the warrior with those mechanical tendrils that formed into a fist before I see them spinning into a...thing with many holes. Wait.
WHIIIIIIIIR
The deafening sound of a loud series of gun fire soon rang out as I watched bullets fire out of that thing while leaping along the walls to avoid him tracking me. Ziden seemed to be having a time cleaning house with the goblin kids, all I see is red around him.
" meiling, he has a Cyborg Seed in him, its replaced his heart, destroy it and Warrior will die!"
He makes it sound so easy! I witnessed a bolt of lightning coming and striking the warrior in the back, watching him slowly turn to the rookies. He was distracted, and I wasted no time at all
Get in close and strike. My fist slams into his back and i felt the steel crumpling against it and my leg smashing into his gut to take him off the ground. Let chi flow through my leg and get it nice and ready to explode. Time to test out this spell card I thought of.
" Chi Sign: Earth Dragon Sky Dragon Kick!" A new spell card that focuses my energy andf mana into my leg and explodes into the chest of my opponent. And that is exactly what I did, a skyward kick that slammed myself into the chest of Warrior and watched my foot cleanly tear through his body into two clean halves, feeling his blood rain down on my body.
The thrill of being able to kill without rules to restrain us, sure the kid didn't deserve his fate but, overconfidence is a destroyer of man, my foot crushed his heart without any mercy and his body fell around me in two clean halves, his heart a nice paste around my shoes before I slammed down onto the ground, to witness Ziden standing next to me.
I was about to say something when a few Goblins playing dead leapt into the fray to attack us, only for 5 fireballs to slam into the goblins and blast them to the ground.
Bloody bodies splattering down to the ground with wet splats as I look back to Mage who was forcing herself to stand, her poor clothes are torn apart from those, bullets.
All was silent in the room before I see the boss man walking over to the surviving girls, waving his hand as that portal appeared behind them. " Go. And get patched up by Eirin all of you. Once I clean up here, I'll give you your grades." Hearing his voice, the clearly distraught and injured girls slowly made their way through the portal, vanishing into his living room and the portal closing behind them.
Now was the time to finish this and crush that lil weas-
" Well, that was a complete shite of a Situation, wasn't it Icrim?" Huh?
" You're telling me, thought those blowhards would have done better but then half of them ends up dead." And I see my boss...shaking the hand of the goblin that was against the wall, watching the fight. Wait, now that I think on it,he was wearing a really fancy suit, way too fancy for a goblin. " Well, the other 3 will probably go back to the Academy anyways."
" Nah, i don't think so, the girls had potential, rough around the edges sure bu-"
" Wait!" I can't keep up with this. " Why are we being friendly with the enemy?"
They both look at me for a moment before breaking into a laugh, I feel like I was heavily left out of a loop.
Ziden POV
" And that is the gist of it." And I explained the purpose of this, a real life danger test where real life goblin spawns and the Goblin workers of the Academy get together and see if rookies can actually make it.
" So, the Goblin here, Godfrey...is a worker with you guys, and he helps violently curbs the Goblin population by letting rookies slaughter them as one of the tests you can choose?" I nod at this while I was tossing the remains of the goblins into a furnace. " that's, but, innocent lives were lost, what the-"
" They're gonna be revived, the Revival System was always in place for rookies, we tell them that its not in order to keep them on their feet so they don't get over confident during their first mission." And I even kick the body of the Archer into a fiery portal. " When they fall, they have their bodies and souls revived but memory of their deat removed and they are sent back to a normal life before they learned about the guild or simply go home to try again in the future when they get a chance to try again."
Well she seemed to get it now, she still loosk a lil grumpy about it.
" Though a Hob was a bit far Godfrey." And he just shrugs it off, goddammit, wish he would give me answers.
" had to see if they were any Chosen ones or anything, we could use those for the hellish way things are now. But, 3/6 ain't bad. They ain't headstrong or stupid so they will do good. Now go on Icrim. File your report on this and imma head on back to England, got some pubs to hit." Well, not exactly surprised. Meiling is still sideeying me right now, but I stopped caring, time to head home.
Hours later...
" I have to what?" As soon as I get back, I get a hologram of a Guild Girl speaking to me, Velvet's her name, one of the England Branch's.
" We've got alot of weird signals and incidents happening in the UK so we need you to head to the Land of the Fae and see if any of those Gensokyo-"
" No, I get that, I more mean, what do you mean I'm responsible for these rookies now?" I was more focused on that than having to go to the UK and be around one half of my body's natural enemies.
" Well, after your rating of them, the males will be mind wiped and sent back to their normal lives, we thought it would be wise to keep them with you since, well, they requested it." And immediately I turn to see the 3 rascals, bandaged up and looking sheepish.
"...Fine. I can take care of them until they soar off on their own." Or by some cruel twist of fate, they end up just sticking with us anyways. " As for this UK thing, fine, we'll head out after the weekend. I got some unexpected prepping to do."
I have to go get orders for the Loot Rings for us, and explain what they too. How did I get them approved for the Money Drop system, and forget the item that causes the Money to drop. Hah, i need a long vacation. Maybe Hawaii will be where one of these Touhous will be. Oh i would absolutely love that.

" Get your Official Hunter Licences yes and they will truly connect you to the revival system. Now go on, Nanami, you will be trained under Meiling."
" Amelia, you shall be trained under me, you have good magic potential, so I plan on training it to the max." Patchouli nods as Amelia nods at this, she seems nervous.
" And for Elizabeth...I'll be training you alongside Sanae as my rookie. You will be learning Buffs, debuffs and Healing magic, so you best be ready." I let out a sigh, today is gonna be quite interesting.

A field of Sunflowers huh. Wait, why do Meiling and Patchouli look like the color just drained from her faces.

Akyuu POV
" Whew, that took a long time but finally got this chapter recorded and ready to be sent around the Isle of Hope." And the small storywriter had just finished up her print.
" Huh, wasn't expecting to see Goblins there, or a near perfect but somehow even more violent version of that one book with the slaying of them Goblins either." Ziden rubbed his jaw while she was grinning.
" This world is so neat, so many things exist and coexist so that makes this story so fun, but from how things sound like. The Flower View Incident is about to happen on that world." Akyuu was even looking through an Incident book.
" Yeah but the Land of the Fae is involved...things might get, hellishly bad real fast." Ziden said while sitting down and soon looking at the orb, ready for what comes next.
Trivia:
1. The entire plot of this chapter is highly obvious. Had fun changing it up though into a high stakes test and yes, this is highly common.
2. Goblins age different from humans, in real time, they mature to thinking status in 2 months. Children are the pests of the species.
3. Mage, Fighter, priestess and Monk are essentially Phantoms of their Goblin Slayer Selves, but Monk and Mage live here.
4. Archer was based off of Shinon from FE path of Radiance while Warrior, was just, a tubby warrior dude I thought of.
5. Loot Rings will be explained in the next chapter.
Author's Note: So, remember when I said this story would be updated Erratically? Uh, I kinda, forgot this story existed and well, I decided to fix that in about 5 days of typing. 3 of those were retypings. This story was made as an experiement to be a highly generic, shove an OC into Touhou story, only for me to enjoy doing a far darker and bloodier tale, which actually holds Canon info for ziden.
This is a Touhou story first and foremost but remember, the world itself is a Crossover of many worlds that lie on Earth and the next story, will have some faces, you will recognize fairy wise from FGO, and yes, the Touhou Fairies are gonna be into some weird misadventures. And yes, more tales of this site will be made fun of with cute cameos and references.
