Dear Peeta,

I shouldn't have asked you to come here, brother. Then you wouldn't be in this situation right now.

What is it with your life, Peet? Why do crazy things happen to you? Ever since I have known you, there is always something or someone challenging your resolve. Trying you break you, make you give up, or hurt you. Why can't you just get a break, for pity's sake! This situation makes me furious! Whoever gave you this fucked up life?!

You have to live, brother. You cannot let this one knock you down and take you away from Annie and me. I'm holding on to your promises to my son while he was still in his mother's womb. His beloved uncle has to teach him how to bake and draw beautiful things. You'll paint his big boy room with us, remember? When baby Nick is seven, you will be Santa and deliver his first bicycle. All his birthday cakes will be designed by you and Annie. You're going to be a constant part of my precious son's life. You have to be there for him, Peeta.

I can't lose you, brother. This can't happen to you. You have to live.

Your doctors don't want to say your chances, so I will do everything medically possible to keep you alive and bring you back to consciousness. That's a brother's promise. I'll give you the best medical care and call my colleagues in Chicago who are doing research in cases like this. You will live, brother. It's only a matter of time before you wake up from this sleep. You are assured of that.

You are a good man, Peet, for what you have done. I don't care what others think. It's not stupid to save another life. This just shows that your heart is in the right place. I want you to believe that, my brother.

I'll take care of you, Peeta.

Love,

Finnick
