Batman vs The 6 6 6
Chapter 7: Demon Night
*Previously, towards the end of Chapter 4, Batman found Laurie Strode's hiding place at an abandoned apartment complex located in Old Town, but while doing so, he encountered a vicious attack from Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger. With the roof on fire and about to collapse in, Batman had to jump out of a window more than ten stories high to escape from certain death. While in free-fall towards the ground he barely managed to break his fall by connecting a grappling hook to an adjacent building at the last second before impact. However, the impact from the fall was forceful enough to render Batman unconscious.*
From off in a distant building, someone holding binoculars was watching the entire incident unfold.
Moments later, Batman regained consciousness. He heard a man's voice yell out to him.
"Go! Get out of here! I will hold them off!"
Batman tried getting a glimpse of the man, but his eyes were still too blurry. All he could see was that the man was wearing a white lab coat and he was standing near the fiery flames of the collapsed apartment building.
"Who was the man trying to hold off?" Batman thought to himself. "There is no way someone could have survived the tall apartment building collapsing like it did. It had been reduced to a smoldering rubble."
Suddenly the unthinkable happened. The silhouettes of Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger emerged from the flames.
"What the HELL! That's impossible!"
"It's not impossible! It's pure EVIL!"
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG! The man in the white lab coat fired his weapon.
Batman tried standing up, but he was still too disoriented from the fall and he couldn't seem to gain his composure.
Just then, Batman saw a pair of black combat boots standing beside him. When he looked up, despite his blurry vision, he could tell that it was the silhouette of a woman.
She then reached out her hand. "Come with me if you want to live!"
Batman was usually the one saying that line to the victims he was trying to save.
His vision finally cleared. "Laurie Strode, I presume?"
"Correct!" She answered. "Now, let's go! We don't have much time!" She demanded, looking back at the monsters emerging from the smoldering rubble.
"Wait! What about him?" Batman asked, talking about the older gentleman wearing the white lab coat.
"That's Dr. Samuel Loomis. He'll be fine. He always figures out a way to survive." She declared. "Now, get on your feet, soldier! We have to go to work!"
Laurie helped Batman to his feet, used her shoulder as a crutch for him to lean on, and then they began heading off.
"How did they survive the apartment building collapsing?" Batman asked. "They should have burned to death with how much boiling tar landed on them, not to mention the bricks and mortar."
"They can regenerate… Just like the Tall Man." She replied.
"Tall Man?... Regenerate?" Batman wondered.
"I will explain it all later." Laurie retorted. "First, we must get you to a safer place."
Minutes Later, Batman followed Laurie into the sewers.
"I thought you said you were bringing me to a safer place. Do you know whose territory this is?" Batman whispered, not wanting to allow for much vibration to tremble off the walls.
"Are you talking about the giant crocodile man and his goon-squad?... Yeah, I know about all of them." Laurie proclaimed. "In fact, I also know which tunnels to take in order to completely avoid them… hence… a safer place. Not to mention, when those three monsters come looking for us, they probably won't be lucky enough to avoid the croc-squad. When we start to hear screaming and shooting, we'll know when to high-tail it out of here and head to our next safe place."
"You mean, they won't be lucky enough to evade 'YOU'RE TRAPS?" Batman retorted. "Is this your idea of toying with them? They can regenerate. The only thing this is going to do is get Croc's men killed, the same way your traps nearly got me killed."
"Hey… I could have taken us to a place above ground… but how many innocent lives would have been lost?... I led them underground… to a place where less innocent lives might meet their demise."
"There is no, 'MIGHT." Batman snarled, gritting his teeth. "I'm not going to let that happen!" He declared, hobbling away from Laurie in the opposite direction, hoping to stop the slaughter that would surely ensue.
"Why would you want to help save someone that wouldn't piss on you if you was on fire?" Laurie blurted.
"Pff..." Batman scoffed, continuing to walk further away.
"It's your funeral." Laurie warned, continuing on her original path.
Before Batman could take another step, he heard one of Killer Croc's men scream out in terror, his cries echoing throughout the tunnel.
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM! An automatic weapon fired several times.
Within seconds the gunfire ceased.
Then another scream- And another.
By the time Batman made it to the men they were already dead. One of them looked as if they were stabbed several times with a knife. The other man looked like he had been sliced several times by razor sharp claws. He had enough cut marks on his body to make Victor Zsasz jealous. And the last man, poor guy… It looked as if Jason had gotten a hold of one of the man's arms and Michael had gotten a hold of the other and then they played tug-of-war to see who could kill him first. Then, after they ripped his arms off, Freddy finished him off by slicing his throat from ear to ear. These men never stood a chance.
Just as Batman turned to figure out which direction the chaotic trio might have been heading...
"Batman!? What the Hell have you done to my men!?" Killer Croc bellowed, standing alongside four other Croc goons.
Batman got into a defensive stance and prepared himself for a fight. "I didn't do this to your men, but if you'd like, I can show you what I CAN DO!" He declared.
Two of the men tried running towards Batman. Batman waited until the last second and then jumped out of the way. He then kicked off the wall with his bare feet and came down on the two men with a helicopter kick to both of their jaws, knocking them out instantly, and causing them to both fall into the shallow sewer water below.
The other two goons slowly stepped towards Batman.
Suddenly… a red flare landed in the shallow water between the goon's feet and Batman's. One of the goons tried picking up the flare, but upon looking closer, he realized it wasn't a flare, instead he discovered that it was actually a stick of dynamite. He then let go of it, dropping it back down into the water, hoping it would extinguish the flame… It didn't. Everyone quickly stepped back in different directions.
KABOOM!
The force of the blast caused the sewer tunnel walls to cave in. Thankfully, Batman was near the exit. The other men were still trapped inside… Trapped between rocks and the murderous 6 6 6.
Batman began trying to remove some of the rubble so that he could warn Killer Croc, but the explosion created too much debris for Batman to sort through.
"YOU CAN'T SAVE THEM NOW!" An older man's voice yelled out from above Batman.
When Batman looked up he could see Dr. Loomis standing on firm ground above the sewer system.
Dr. Loomis then reached out his hand, offering to help Batman up from out of the mucky water. "If we are lucky, the EVIL will be occupied for a while… Where is Laurie?"
"She continued through the sewer without me." Batman replied, grabbing a hold of the doctor's hand and climbing onto dryer land.
"Where do you think she is heading?" Dr. Loomis asked. "I'm sure wherever she goes, DEATH will surely follow."
"True." Batman agreed. "She seems to have a good amount of knowledge as to the layout of Gotham City. She purposely led the three of them into the sewer in order to keep them away from civilians. Plus she knew the three of them would face some resistance from Croc's men." Batman proclaimed.
Dr. Loomis pulled out his map of Gotham City and began looking it over. "Where would she be going that would cause the least amount of civilian casualties and also create the most resistance for those three EVIL INCARNATE?"
Batman also looked down at the map and thought about all the possibilities. He then had a revelation. "I know where she's going!"
"What? How?" Dr. Loomis asked.
"She is luring the three of them into the dens of the worst criminals that Gotham City has ever seen." Batman replied, still looking at the map. "Based on our location being on the outskirts of Gotham, her next stop is most likely The Amusement Mile."
Dr. Loomis looked at the map. "There is no place called The Amusement Mile on this map."
"It's an old abandoned fairground which used to host the carnival. Now it's mostly occupied by Joker's goon-squad, otherwise known as The Clowns. Perhaps this is her way of trying to cleanse Gotham, while at the same time, evading the trio from HELL."
"What is her end-game? Why is this happening?" Dr. Loomis wondered.
"I'm not quite sure yet. She was about to tell me, but we separated before she had the chance to." Batman replied. "But, at this moment, that doesn't matter… Right now, we need to get to the abandoned amusement park before more people die!"
