So, a new chapter. But before we start, someone asked me the status of a number of my stories so here's an unfortunate list.

Dead (No plans for updates): The Wrath of the Many, A few nukes and lasers solves everything, including Reapers

Hiatus (either planning to continue or planning to rewrite): Commanding Effect, Fire for Stellar Effect

Ongoing (slow updates): Aura Effect, A few Battlecruisers can solves many issues, including an Empire

Ongoing (Regular updates): A few Titans Solves many issues, Remnant: To Command and Conquer, Remnant: Stellar Shock and Awe

Plans (nothing set in stone): RWBY/Earth Fanfic (involving NATO), Rewriting The Wrath of the Many to something less…chaotic (making an actual Stellaris Mass Effect Quarian first contact fic), Considering rewriting Aura Effect (wrote me into a corner, considering redoing it).

Yeah, so a lot of stuff going on. With school ongoing and university applications being a thing, updates will slow down a lot. I wanna go back and do more Stellaris fics but my schedule is quite packed.

Anyways, time for me to stop rambling to get back to the story.

North American Union Allied Command, Norfolk Naval Station, USA

(Headquarters in the former NATO Allied Transformation building)

7:00 AM June 21st, 2052

In another world, Sydney Ross would have been an elite warrior of an interstellar-spanning nation fighting against the enemies of Humanity and her allies. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at home, 20-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Sydney Ross was a humble Logistician/Weapons technician in the Royal Canadian Princess Patricia Light Infantry Regiment.

Not that he actually minded. He served in Europe during the Allied Counter invasion of Germany and Eastern Europe, where he worked day and night to help keep both ECA and NAU forces armed, supplied, and their equipment working. Someone had to do the job. He then aided in the reconstruction of Europe and the job was mostly completed just before the North American continent was transferred to the world of Remnant.

Had he fought? Yes of course he had. But it was mostly a few patrols and mop-up operations against rouge shock troopers and some GLA sympathizers. He was a Logistician at heart, even if he was good at fighting.

So that begged the question, what the hell was he doing at NAU Allied Command? Formerly NATO Allied Transformation, where once stood flags of 28 nations now stood three and one of the NAU, the familiar blue and white triple stars representing the member nations.

It was teeming with military personnel from Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. But all of them were freaking officers a decade older than him! And all of them have a chest full of medals! Here he was, a lowly CWO and a REMF.

Sydney, in his regular BDUs and not dress uniforms, readjusts his beret and walks through the front door. Earning some glances for his lowly status, he walked towards and an unoccupied secretary desk.

"How can I help you?" the secretary asked.

"Hello. I was requested by General Barton to see him. Is he available?" Sydney questioned.

"One moment." the secretary began typing on their computer, rapidly inputting lines of words he couldn't see. "Odd, it says here you have an appointment with General Bradley of the USMC?"

Sydney froze for the briefest of seconds. Thorne? The General I-will-run-everything-over-with-my-treads Bradley? "Are you sure? I was told by my C.O that my orders came from General Barton of the U.S Army."

"Yes, one moment." Rapid typing occurred. "It says here that General Barton was called away to the Pentagon and General Bradley took on your meeting."

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

"I see." Sydney was concealing his internal panic. "I suppose I'll go see him. Where should I go?"

"Take the right hallway, turn left, and go straight. He has an office there."

"Thank you."

AAAAAAHHHHH!

Sydney turned down the hallway towards what was apparently General Bradley's office. What the fuck was he being called for?

Eventually, Sydney was in front of a simple blue wooden door. Moment of truth.

Turning the knob and pushing the door open, Sydney saw a rather barebones office that whose walls were covered with a few holo screens showing NAU operations across the globe. Well, it was just North America and the dragon continent for now.

"Chief Warrant Officer Sydney Ross, Reporting for duty!"

"At ease son." the formerly elderly marine general raised his free hand. "Sit."

AAAAHHHHHHHHH I AM SO NOT READY FOR THIS!

Sydney did as he was told and sat down in the chair in front of him.

"Sydney Ross, son of Admirals Sophia Limburn Ross of the Canadian Pacific Fleet and General Victor Ross who commands much of the Canadian and American Northern and Pacific ground force. A clean record of service in the Canadian army, yet you garnered the interest of Thorne and SOCOMs of all three NAU nations. A logistician and yet you fought like a lion alongside the Euros during several mop-up operations against the Spetsnaz. You took down a squad of VDV with nothing more than a few blocks of C-4, a molotov cocktail, and good timing. A trained fighter, yet you sit in the back doing paperwork, moving boxes, and fixing guns. Why is that?"

"Respectfully sir, as much as I'm good with a C25 (Canada's version of the M5A1), I spent much of my life helping out as support personnel before I enlisted," Sydney responded.

"Hmhm." Bradley leans back in his chair. "Tell me, how good are you with kids?"

AAAAHHHH-wait what?

"Sir?"

"How well do you get along with children Ross?" The marine general asked.

"That depends on the age. During my time with the Allied Reconstruction European Force, I did go out and volunteer to look after a number of orphanages sir. Mostly pre-teens or ones too young to work."

"What about teenagers? Hyperactive teens?"

"Uhh, not much. Most either volunteered as militia or reconstruction workers. Why?" Sydney was confused. Why the heck was a famous marine general asking if he could take care of kids?

"Look son, I need a favour from you. Remember about those hunters in training from around Remnant now in our hands? From the expedition?"

Sydney nodded. He remembered that a bunch of hunters in training were stranded in America now. And he heard that TF Zwolle's CO took 4 teams in.

"They're getting restless at Norfolk and General Arc wants them transferred West to Griffiths. I took a look at the transfer sheets and it said that you were heading back to Vancouver correct? If you could, bring them to Griffiths."

"That's….an extraordinary request sir. But that seems doable. Which ones?" Sydney questioned, recalling the personnel lists recovered from the Windy Spirits.

"The ones from teams-" Bradley looked down at a datapad. "The ones called Finky, Bronze, and Auburn. 12 of them. The first team is from Atlas and the second from Vacuo, and the last is from Mistral I believe."

"I guess I can handle them, sir. But uh, my bank account may not be big enough to handle it."

"You have access to 300,000 U.S and Canadian dollars from a discretionary account. Here." Bradley handed the Canadian a credit card. "This should handle housing, food, entertainment, and so on. Make it count. Otherwise, we're cutting from your paycheck."

"Uh yes sir." Sydney took the card and pocketed it. "Where are these kids?"

"Conference room 5, South Wing. I would also recommend retrieving their gear from storage." Bradley said bluntly said.

"Timetable?" Sydney questioned.

"Just get them to Griffiths before the June 26th Warrant Officer. Otherwise, get them there how you see fit." The marine general said.

"Yes sir. Anything else?"

"I've sent a briefing and more details to your email account. Otherwise, fair travels kid. Dismissed." General Bradley stood up and gave a salute. Sydney gave the same.

"Oh, and kid?" Sydney turned around. "Don't lose your head. These are hyperactive teens with soul fucking powers."

Sydney nodded and left the marine's office.

This was…going to be a weird time.

10 minutes later

"These are some weird weapons," Sydney said to himself as he pushed a cart full of mecha-shifting weapons. After the Rangers rescued the expedition members, they disarmed them and took away their weapons. Only the teams with Arc had theirs returned. And the weapons? Some made sense like that blue and white sniper rifle. But there was a trumpet, nunchucks, and some sort of hoverboard pistol thing?

Good, hunters were weird.

Then again, so were the Americans. They built a missile that could turn into swords or a gun that could be shot around corners-wait that was the Israelis.

Sydney pushed the cart to the conference room where the hunters in training were located. Taking a breath, he curled up his fist and gave a quick series of raps on the door.

"Who is it!?" someone called from the otherside.

"Canadian! I have your weapons!" Sydney called back.

The door creaked open and revealed green spiky-haired, white-skinned, tealed-coloured eyes, and wearing a purple hood teen.

"Oh! A new person! Who are you?" the teen asked.

"I'm Chief Warrant Officer Sydney Ross. You?"

"Reese! Reese Chloris of Haven! Come in!" the girl said chiply.

The door was pulled opened and Sydney pushed the cart in to find 11 more teens lazily hanging around in the room.

"Reese? Who's this?" A dark-skinned female teen wearing yellow robes and having her arm wrapped in some sort of cloth. Sydney oddly found it reminiscent of Kendo clothing.

"A friend and technically your chaperone. You guys want your stuff?" Sydney opened one of the boxes to reveal various mecha-shifting or dust weapons.

"Sweet! My nunchucks!" a cat faunus with roller blades and a pinkish-reddish tail zipped in. The rest of the hunters piled on, retrieving their weapons, lose pieces of clothing, and their scrolls.

"No dust?" Someone asked.

"Sorry, egghea-I mean engineers took it all away. It was one of the things I couldn't get." Sydney simply restacked the boxes and shoved the cart to the side.

"Right, just before I start talking, your Flynt Coal, Arslan Altan, and Brawnz Ni right?" Pointing to the three team leaders. This took everyone by surprise.

"Uh-yeah? How did you know?" Brawnz questioned.

"We salvaged the data records from the expedition so we learned about your names. Anyways I'm Chief Warrant Officer Sydney Ross of Her Majesty's Princess Patricia's Light Infantry Regiment of the Royal Canadian Army. Pleasure to meet you 12. You may call me Syd or Sydney." The CWO gave a polite bow.

"Thanks for getting our weapons Sydney. So uh, why are you here?" a shy, beanie-wearing sniper wielder asked.

"I'm here to let you escape from your boredom. My people want you and the hunter teams transferred to one of our other bases, Fort Griffiths. It's a vacation on the Yank's dime."

"A…vacation?" the same sniper asked.

"Yup! General Bradley of the United States Marine Corps doesn't want you to die of boredom so I'm taking you on a week long trip to my nation of Canada. We'll meet up with a few other teams. I believed the ones named Juniper, Sun, Coffee, and Ruby. Friends right?" Sydney looked up.

The hunters in training looked at each other with surprise. "Those 4 teams? Where did they go?"

"North, near New York. Catskill mountains. Nice place to visit, though they should be heading to the city of Vancouver as well." Sydney took a moment to think about what the email said. "Any other questions?"

"When do we go home?" Kobalt asked.

"2 weekish? Sorry I don't have a time table but Grimm islands surround North America and the militaries want to clear them out first. Sorry." Sydney gave an apologetic look.

"Not a problem. It's just most of us are bored out of our minds." Flynt sighed, everyone else nodding.

"Then be glad your going on a vacation!" Sydney gave his best optimistic stance. "Your going on a tour of America, seeing the sights, eating poutine, and so on. Oh and you'll love the poutine!"

"Really? Where we going first?" Arslan asked.

"Ottawa," Sydney replied.

Beacon Academy

Same time

"WHERE'S MY DAUGHTERS?" Summer screamed and shook the old headmaster repeatedly.

"Miss Rose, please calm down." Glynda tried to stop the raging mother to no avail.

"Ozzy. My kids have been sent to the dragon continent without my permission, nor were any veteran hunters allowed to go. Half the arcs are still grieving over the loss of her son, Juniper and Nicky are still on a warpath on the fang, and now my girls are now trapped in some god-awful continent chock-full of Grimm! The same place where we defeated SALEM!" Summer yelled.

Ozpin had felt many fears from many things. Salem, before she was killed a decade before, terrifying Grimm, politics, the brand new continent with a population bigger than the rest of Remnant, the brother gods, and so forth. But the partially crippled woman who was one of his students, a trusted friend, and ally was definitely on top.

Glynda herself was equally terrified of the angry woman, and also her equally angry husband behind her.

Ozpin attempted to speak but couldn't as Summer had her hands around the headmaster's throat. Desperate tapping on Summer's arm, the enraged white caped woman finally released the old man.

"Your daughters are safe." Ozpin wheezed out. "And the situation is….complicated."

"Complicated my ass. What the hell is going on?" Taiyang.

"The Dragon Continent is gone." Ozpin wheezed again, causing the Rose-Xiao long pair to pause and allowing Ozpin a chance to speak again. "Something cause the Dragon continent to disappear and it's been replaced with a new continent from another world. It's inhabitants call it North America. Your daughters, along with the expedition, are in custody of one of their military units."

"...what? Why haven't we heard of this yet?" Summer asked.

"We just got in contact with them yesterday. It's….a lot to digest. It's why we haven't revealed their nature to the public yet." Ozpin admitted.

"What's so special about these newcomers?" Tai's eyes narrowed.

"Their population is around 550 million people." Ozpin curtly said, causing the pair of veteran hunters' eyes to widen.

"550….million?" Summer scarcely couldn't believe it. Remnant's total population was around 40 million.

"That's not all. They have a combined military of 4 million, they don't rely on dust, and they just came out of a Great War intact." Ozpin trailed on. "And what's more, Juniper and Nicholas's son is alive and with these North Americans."

"What?! Why haven't you told them?" Tai exclaimed.

"Because while Arc was missing for a month for us, he was on the continent for 16 years!" Ozpin stood up. "What's worse, Arc's a military commander now who apparently fought in their last great war. What am I supposed to tell Nicholas and Juniper? I'm sorry your son was nearly assassinated by the White Fang and now he's battle-scarred from years of war? Oh and he's a general now?"

Summer flinched at Ozpin's language. He was usually more formal than this. "Is it really that bad?"

"There's a military power that has more soldiers than Menagerie and Argus has people combined. The son of a famous huntsman and huntress has returned from the dead. And to top it all of, we have the remnants of Salem's circle and the White Fang to deal with. So yes, it is getting worse."

Ozpin paused. "I can only hope that no one is stupid enough to piss them off."

Off the coast of Alaska, USA

Same time

"Unidentified armed airships, this is Vice Admiral Sophia Limburn of the Royal Canadian Navy and operating from HMCS Warrior. You are entering North American airspace. Identify yourselves or you will be fired upon." The Canadian admiral said in the comms.

On the screen, Limburn could see several flights of F-36s, CF-36s, CF-39s, and F-22s circling the Atlas fleet. She now had her own armada at her disposal.

"We're receiving a comms link from the Atlas fleet." the comms officer reported. "Patching it through now."

"(Comms) This is Commodore Jankowski of the Atlas Air Fleet. Is this Admiral Limburn?" A gruff voice came as a reply.

"Yes, it is Commodore. I see you have a fleet of 5 air cruisers and dozens of aircraft coming into my continent's airspace. Why are you here?"

Silence reigned on the other side, and then the reply came. "(Comms) We have come to reclaim the members of the inter-kingdom expedition sent to the Dragon continent and to establish a presence on these new lands."

"An interesting mission Commodore. However, I cannot let you establish a presence on North American soil. This land belongs to the nations of Canada, Mexico, and the United States. As such, any attempts to establish installations on NAU territory will be met with military force."

The Atlassian scoffed "(Comms) we're the Atlassian Airfleet. We have our orders and our orders are to secure a presence for the Kingdom of Atlas and the people of Remnant."

"Commodore, I don't think you're listening properly. And Beyond this sea is the State of Alaska and Yukon, sovereign lands of the United States of America and the Dominion of Canada. Any, and I mean any, military actions conducted by unwelcome military forces without the consent of both governments can and will be interpreted as an act of war."

"(Comms) Admiral, we are the atlas military, the undefeated military power of Remnant since the Great War. Our sips will bloat out the sky and our mechs will smash you to pieces. What do you think you primitives can do about it?"

Arrogant is he? Also Great War my ass, 5 million dead is nothing compared to GWOT and WW3.

"We'll fire starters, you're surrounded." At that moment around the Atlas fleet, dozens of Raptors, Widowmaker/Lightnings, and Crossbow 5th Generation aircraft dropped from the cloud cover and above, around, behind, and below the Atlas air fleet. And the Atlas warships were unable to target said craft with the amount of ECM jamming that suddenly appeared.

"(Comms) What the!? Where did they come from!?"

"(Comms) Hostiles spotted. They didn't show up on the radar!"

(Comms) 16 below us!"

"(Comms) we can't target them! Why aren't our targeting sensors working?!"

"(Comms) by the brothers! They're everywhere!"

"(Comms) We can't aim! They're moving too fast.

"(Comms) Look out!"

Checkmate snowmen

"I have over five dozen aircraft armed with air-to-air missiles, high calibre rotary cannons, and lasers ready to rip your fleet apart. Each one crewed by veteran pilots of a five-year long war with a near-peer power. I also have hundreds more ready to smack your fleet down. In addition to that, I also have a fleet of warships ready to pound your cruisers with high-velocity rockets. Even if you manage to get past all that, you will still have to contend with over 20,000 ground troops of the United States and Canada armies armed with munitions to demolish entire cities.

Commodore as of this moment, I give you three options. One for war or two for peace. Option 1, you can continue on your path without acknowledging the governments of North America and I will blow your entire fleet to smithereens. Option 2, you turn back home. Or option 3, you can stay outside of the Alaska defence zone and wait until the proper authorization. Choose wisely.``

On the camera, Limburn could see the Atlas air cruisers continuing their heading and then slowly banking to the left before making a full u-turn. The Mantas and Dropships followed suit.

A shame, I was hoping to use these new Hypersonic missiles on them.

"A good choice Commodore. Just be aware we are watching. Now get the fuck out of my airspace. Admiral Limburn of Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Navy, signing off."

Limburn switches the comms unit to all Canadian units and straightens up. "It appears we have a force that believes it can do whatever the fuck they want. Today we showed this world we in the Canadian Armed Forces will not be trifled with. But the Atlassians will come back from this exchange. Let us be ready for the next exchange! Sailors and marines of her majesty's Royal Navy, Airforce, and Marines! Will you stand by me as we stand against this new foe!?"

"AYE MA'AM!" the CIC crew called out, echoes by

"Then stand with our North American Allies. We stood against the GLA, the West Africians, the Cartels, and the Russians. Will we bend down to this mini-Russia!?"

"NO MA'AM!"

"Then stand ready as nor the Grimm or Atlas will not take one step on North American soil without bloodshed! 3 years ago, we were called to defend our mother country from Russian aggression, now we do so to defend our homes! Stand stalwart my brothers and sisters, for there are 560 million souls of North America behind us!"

Throughout the ships of the Canadian vessels, a warcry could be heard as the service members of the Royal Canadian Navy returned to their duties.

On one of the consoles, a message appeared. No name or rank, but Limburn could tell who it was from.

Nice speech Soph. Still got that enthusiasm when we get back in bed?

Sophia Limburn Ross, Vice Admiral of the Royal Canadian Navy, smirked at her husband's message.

"Ready, Aye, Ready," Limburn said out loud.

North American Wiki…Canadian involvement in WW3 (Part 1)

While President Bradford's declaration of war on the Russian Federation and her allies was one of the most iconic public speeches in history and marked the beginning of North America's entry into the war, it was not the United States who struck the first blow against the Eurasian Juggernaut but the members of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces who first drew blood against the foes of Europa. The Canadian military, having proven themselves to be a potent fighting force, proved to the world that the Gray Jays of the North will be there to fight tyranny.

Canada's involvement in the war began with the mass acceptance of European refugees and cultural works to keep it out of the hands of the Russians. Later, this would turn into a staging ground for British and volunteer commonwealth forces as Russian bombers began turning portions of Europe into paste. This would include the basing of a portion of the famous Venom power armour project in Quebec. This would later see the Canadian government, along with the Mexican and American governments, start a lend-lease program, sending Europe(though a large percentage went to the British) the equivalent of forty billion dollars worth of aid. However when Paris fell and the invasion of the British home islands looked inevitable, the Canadian government, after persuading the U.S, secretly dispatched a force of volunteers under General Victor Ross to the British isles.

When Russian shock troops landed at Ramsgate on September 8th, they were forced to contend with the British Army and Airforce defending their homes. Slowly, British forces were pushed back from the beaches and stalemated the Russians at the Ramsgate train station until the unexpected arrival of 12 Canadian CF39 Crossbow of the 421th RCAF Squadron, secretly flown from the Canadian mainland to Britain via in-air refuelling, arrived station and unleashed their payload of 24 GBU-12 Paveway bombs onto Russian positions. Combined with a bayonet charge and a Challenger tank assault by the Royal Lancers shattered the initial assault by the Russian 3rd Shock division. The British 8th Home Guard Division was able to push the Russians out of Ramsgate and with the help of the Royal Lancers, bottle up the Russian forces near their landings at Sandwich Bay. At this point of the afternoon, both the British and Russian forces were too bloodied by the fighting to continue and expected to continue the fighting. However the British would play one of their major trump card: the Canadian volunteers.

On September 8th, 16:00 hours, the Russian Shocktrooper lines were unexpectedly slammed with not British Claymores or Mortar Tracks, but by Canadian M777 Howitzer and M142 HIMARS batteries of the Canadian 15th Artillery Regiment. Combined with airstrikes from British Harriers, Lightings, Eurofighters, and Canadian Crossbows temporarily disoriented the Russian lines for the Canadian 39th Brigade Group to assault the Russian 2nd Shock Troops division. General Aleksandr's shock troops, exhausted by hours of fighting, were stunned to see what appeared to be Canadian M1A3 Crusader tanks (the 39th Brigade would be mistaken as American instead Canadian initially) slamming APFSDS rounds into Golem and Ogre tanks while Canadian LAV 10s (Upgraded Stryker Chassis resembling their LAV-6 predecessors) began dismounting hordes of enraged Canadian Dragoons. After a 45-minute firefight (where General Ross led the charge in a Crusader tank himself), the 39th Brigade and the Royal Lancers would drive the Russians to the sea. The Russian Generals on the mainland would never learn that the Canadians were involved due to the HMS Thunderchild, a Royal Navy battlecruiser, arriving to destroy the Russian navy off the coast of Ramsgate. This would mark the beginning of Canadian blood spilled to defend Europe.

Canadian involvement in the counter-assault would be kept secret by the ECA and NAU. European hopes of an NAU intervention would be dashed when it would realised that the Canadians were only willing to defend Britain and Ireland (this is due to existing bad blood between Europe and North America where Canadian and American reservists were killed in a three-way shootout with French paratroopers and Russian Spetsnaz). The 3rd division, hoping to keep their involvement in the battle of Ramsgate a secret, would withdraw further into Britain where they would remain as a reserve force until the NAU's official entry into the war. However a secret mission by the secret Canadian Aura Special forces, JTF3, and Seal Team 7, would conduct a boarding operation on the Russian missile submarine Kalmar where the team seized the submersible and brought it back to Britain.

After the ECA launched a massive Nuclear-Neutron strike along Russian lines, annihilating 300,000 Russian troops, American President Bradford, along with the Canadian and Mexican governments, would declare war on Russia on June 4th, 2048. Several squadrons of Canadian Crossbows, along with flights of North American Nighthawks, Raptors, and Widowmakers, discreetly based out of Britain, would begin a mass air campaign against Russian forces besieging ECA forces in the Benelux nations and the French and Eastern European forces holding on at Caen.

By the end of June 4th, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, the nations of Southern Africa, the Maghreb Union, and the Caribbean Commonwealth would declare war on the Russian Federation and her allies. The Korean Republic and Japan would declare war on Russia as well when August came around.

(Sorry, I was planning to do something emotional with Jaune and Pyrrha but couldn't find the time to do it. Will try in the next update).
