Lucina and others were doing great against him until he shifted into zero gravity and hurt our favorite time-traveling princess. Guy's hungry for payback, just like Jet and Cinder. They better get ready. No one embarrasses my friends and gets away with it!

Race 10: Upcoming Rival Matches

Avengers Mansion, New York City. Earth Dimension.

The Quarter-Final Races of the DX Multiversal Grand Prix is over with races that proved to be more intense than yesterday's. Every team gave it their all against their opponents, including fan-favorites such as Team Spiders, Team Heroes, Team RWBY, and Team Supreme. For tonight, the riders are taking a break to rest and prepare. And they will need it, for the Semi-Finals is where their skills will be put to the test before pushing past their limits in time for the Championship Finals.

Inside Avengers Mansion, several members of the fan-favorite heroic Teams are hanging out in different rooms of the mansion. In the lab, Tails is with Mayday and Weiss as all three geniuses are in the middle of upgrading their respective team's Extreme Gear. In the living room, team leaders consisting of Peter, Sonic, Ruby, and Blake are relaxing while looking through their cellphones for an important announcement regarding tomorrow's races.

"Finally they announced the Semi-Final matchups." Peter proclaimed while searching for his scheduled race, "Lets see here…Who am I up against…"

"Found yours. You're up against the Fantastic Three." Sonic found his friend's matchup for him.

"Team Fantastic. Perfect! Been dying to put Johnny in his place!" Peter smiled, eagerly looking forward to defeating his hotheaded rival.

"Because he stole your girl?" teased Sonic, annoying his arachnid friend.

"Shut up and let's find out who you're unlucky enough to go up against!" Peter retorted, searching for Team Heroes' rival in the next race, "And surprising no one, it's the Babylon Rogues."

"Awesome!" Sonic smiled, excited for his high-speed rematch with his birdy rival of the wind.

"Uncle Qrow's team will be racing with you too!" Ruby informed the hedgehog.

"Double awesome! Tomorrow's gonna be a party!" Sonic retorted.

"Ruby's team will be racing against Cinder's, and mine will be against Grimadoom's." Blake checked before turning off her Scroll, "All of our races are going to be intense tomorrow. We'll need to stay on our guard."

"You definitely. We've seen how Grim race." Peter replied, expressing concern for his faunus girlfriend as she's unfortunate to faceoff with that ruthless hedgehog clone.

"I'll be fine. Teams Dark and Inhumans will be racing with me and I'm certain that they don't want him to win as much as me. Grimadoom isn't invincible. We have the Gear Parts that can easily counter his zero gravity." Blake assured him stoically.

"Still be careful. That jerk refuse to learn the meaning of holding back. Who knows what else he has up his sleeves." Sonic advised her sternly.

"I will. Thanks." Blake responded.

Frowning down at the floor, Ruby says, "If only we can ride Gear as good as you, Sonic, then we would have nothing to worry about."

"Whaddya mean? You guys been awesome so far." A confused Sonic replied.

"I guess, but we could do better. My team lucked out in our last race." Ruby retorted, worried about her chances in the Semi-Finals.

"Luck's always plays a role in these competitions." Sonic said.

"Doesn't last forever. Honestly, I'm surprised my team made it this far when we're a trio of Parkers that inherited the terrible family luck." Peter quipped.

"Just remember what I taught you guys: To be the fastest on Extreme Gear, you have to become one with the wind. That's what Jet once told me." Sonic advised his friends in how to master Extreme Gear.

"None of us here have wings besides Tiki. How can we fly faster than we can now?" Blake questioned their hedgehog mentor.

BGM-Sonic Riders OST-Legend of Babylonians

Solemnly, Sonic advises his three friends to, "Just gotta be free. Free to be you. I was on the same boat back when I started Gear racing. Had doubts that I could ever beat Jet. But that's just it. You can't let those doubts weigh you down. Gotta clear your mind and focus on the race alone and nothing else."

"That's hard to do when the race gets intense." Ruby commented, with Peter nodding in agreement.

"You all want to win, right?" Sonic questioned his friends.

"Right." Peter replied.

"Then just believe in your own potential to surpass your limits." Sonic advised them wisely, "Let nothing distract you. Let your heart fall free into the wind with no hesitation. Even without wings, one can still fly!"

His friends take a moment to process his helpful advice. Even though they don't quite understand it yet, they are willing to test their true potential when the Semi-Finals begin tomorrow. Grateful for his help, Peter smiles, "We'll test out your theory. Thanks.", at the friendly hedgehog.

"No problem!" Sonic beamed.

Meanwhile in the city…

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Empire City (Night)

"Are you sure you're okay, Lucina?" Mary Jane asked.

An all-girls group consisting of MJ, Lucina, Tiki, and Yang have been out in the city enjoying the night. Until tomorrow's races, they will shop until they drop, buying and wearing their new stylish clothes while carrying their bags as they walk along the peaceful sidewalks. "I am fine, Mary Jane. Going out shopping with you all has cheered me up plenty. Though I do wish I won 2nd in that race." The smiling Lucina assured her redheaded friend.

"You snooze you lose." Yang quipped.

"I was not sleepy." Lucina took her slang seriously like the naïve otherworldly girl she is.

"No, that's a phrase in this world." Tiki clarified for the confused princess.

"Which you take way too seriously, sleepyhead." Yang snarked at the divine dragon.

"I have been drinking coffee to stay awake. It helps." Tiki retorted, "By the way, can we stop by the shop called Starbucks? I want to buy at least dozen cups before my race with Team Supreme tomorrow."

"Sure. You're going to need all your strength if you want to beat those jerks." Mary Jane accepted her request before turning to her huntress friend, "You too, Yang. From what I watched, Team Toxin is going to be nightmare."

"I'll make it a dream come true to knock 'em outta their socks!" Yang punned smirkingly.

"Tomorrow's races sound exciting. The Spiders will be racing against this World's First Family of Heroes." Lucina smiled.

"The Fantastic Four. Yeah, I know Pete and Johnny are gonna put on quite a show." Yang remarked.

"Who will you be cheering for?" MJ asked the huntress.

"Both of course!" Yang scoffed.

"But who do you want to win?" MJ asked with a teasing smile.

Blushing embarrassedly at the conflicting thought of her current boyfriend and ex-boyfriend racing against each other, Yang chuckles while turning her face away from her teasing friend, "Um…D-Does it really matter? Whoever wins will lose to me in the Finals."

"Mm-hmm." quipped MJ, now with Tiki joining her in teasing the huntress with their smiles.

"You two stop that!" Yang retorted, now annoyed by them, but it doesn't stop them from laughing at her expense.

"Girl, you need to be honest with yourself." MJ advised, knowing Yang well enough that she still loves Peter as much as she loves Johnny, or perhaps even more than him, but is just too shy to admit it.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." snarked Yang, brushing her aside while still keeping a mental note of her advice.

"Regardless of the victor, I pray everyone enjoy themselves tomorrow as well as during the Finals." Lucina smiled hopefully.

"Hear hear!" MJ agreed, smiling in agreement with the princess alongside their other two friends as they continue spending the night together.

BGM-Ultimate Spider-Man (Game) OST-Open City 2

With more free time, and because they're bored, the dangerous trio of Scarlet Spider, Knuckles, and Severa are spending their night fighting crime. Some crooks tried robbing a building from the rooftop, but they didn't get pass the door once the heroes caught them in their threatening sights. Scarlet Spider is a ruthless vigilante, more brutal than Spider-Man when it comes to springing into a combo of kicks and punches that lay out several goons in a breeze. Knuckles is just as serious in a fight, knocking out baddies one by one with just single overpowering punches. Severa is as beautiful as she is deadly in combat, slashing through criminals with critical blows from her sword. And when these three work together, they are unstoppable, with the last scared crook caught by Scarlet's web throw, then uppercutted into the air by Knuckles's punch, before he is finally defeated after crashing back onto the roof by Severa's diving kick.

"That was entertaining. Fighting crime to pass the time." Knuckles smiled at their win over the subdued thugs.

"Wasn't fun for me." Severa snarked.

"Are you still pissed you lost the race?" Scarlet responded.

"Yes! Was looking forward to beating you!" Severa retorted angrily.

"That'll never happen. But I'll give you a shot after I win the tournament." Scarlet offered her a private race between them.

Blushing red at her crush, Severa remarks, "Y-You mean it? Just the two of us?"

"And Knuckles if he wants to." gestured Scarlet, still completely oblivious to her feelings for him.

"Sure." Knuckles smiled.

"Swell…" scowled Severa, back to being annoyed.

"Hey darlings!" Greeting the heroes from the nightly sky she's flying through is a sexy mobian bat that Knuckles is way too familiar with, much to his great displeasure as she is not just a professional jewel thief, but also an Agent of GUN.

"Oh great, it's Rouge." Knuckles frowned, recognizing his iconic rival, Rouge the Bat.

"Friend of yours?" Kaine snarked.

"Hardly." Knuckles said upon the bat landing next to him.

"We're more lovers." Rouge joked.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Knuckles retorted with loud fury at her face.

"Still can't take a joke through that adorable knucklehead of yours." Rouge teased the infuriated echidna before focusing on his new spider-friend, "Hi there. You must be the Scarlet Spider Shadow told me about. My name is Rouge the Bat. Nice to meet you. Thanks for keeping him in line during that Genesis Portal fiasco."

"You're welcome." Kaine replied, shaking hands with his latest ally, "So what do you want?"

"Oh I was just roaming around having fun at jewelry stores until I noticed you guys, so I thought we'd chat for a bit." Rouge answered, while implying that she has been stealing New York's jewels, "Did you know Team Dark made it to the Semi-Finals like the rest of you?"

"Not her." Kaine teased Severa.

"Shut up, Bug." Severa retorted.

BGM-Sonic Battle OST-Sneaky Bat

"And did you know Hammer Industries have been secretly recording everyone's racing data since this tournament started?" Rouge slyly revealed to the trio, much to their mild interest.

"No. And I kinda don't care. Not my problem." Kaine responded stoically.

"How do you know that?" The curious Knuckles interrogated the thief.

"I'm a spy, remember." Rouge quipped, "Hammer has been acting shady, so I thought I take a peek at what he's up to. You know of his useless Hammer Drones? Well, they weren't entirely useless. Their true purpose is to record data of every racer in the Grand Prix. Whether they win a race wouldn't matter. They would still get what they want."

"So? It's not a big deal or anything." Severa commented.

"Alone, yes. But what if that data is used to create the most powerful Extreme Gear in the multiverse?" Rouge hinted to them of the villain's true plan.

"So Hammer will use it to promote his shitty company. Whatever." Kaine shrugged, still not seeing how serious the situation could be.

"Except Hammer wants to sell that data to his favorite customer." Rouge hinted again.

"You implying he's working with someone?" Kaine questioned the secretive spy.

"Am I?" Rouge teased, which gives him a reason to find her as annoying as Knuckles sees her, "I can say this: Hammer sees this tournament as a job interview. And if he passes, he's allowed to play with the big boys. Terrible CEO or not, he would actually be a problem for everyone." She subtly warned the heroes.

"If what you said is true, we'll keep an eye on him." Knuckles declared.

Rouge smiles gratefully, "That's good to hear.", before ascending back to the skies, "Good luck tomorrow, boys! And sorry when I trump you in the Finals!"

"That won't happen!" Knuckles retorted.

"We'll see." Rouge winks flirtatiously at her friends before flying into the night, leaving the trio to ponder on Hammer's master plan and his secret partner that should be obvious to others except them.

Somewhere Else…in a Realm Eternal.

"Father. Have you reconsidered your decision?"

"My answer is the same. No."

Inside a royal golden throne room befit for gods, the Mighty Thor of the Avengers took a knee before his king. His stubborn All-Father, Odin, as the two are in the middle of a conversation that seems to relate to the DX Multiversal Grand Prix. "Father, I know you have been watching and I know you find it enjoyable. All of Asgard agrees. Besides, we owe the mortals for their brave heroics in the past." Thor said.

Odin sighs from his throne, taking a quick moment to think before stoically telling his son, "…If I find them worthy by the end of the day, then I will allow it."

"Thank you, Father. They will not disappoint you. For fierce rivalries always bring out the best within us!" Thor smiled, happy that his stubborn old man is on the cusp of agreeing to some secret agreement that will blow the minds of the multiverse, assuming the Semi-Finals are the greatest the Gods will ever observe.

KFX Here: This didn't take forever. Hurray. Just another breather chapter to set up the last portion of this story. The Ultimate Rival Races are coming: Team Spiders vs. Team Fantastic. Team Heroes vs. Team Babylon. Team RWBY vs. Team Toxin. And Team Belladonna vs. Team Supreme. This is shaping up to be some of the greatest races ever!
