INSTEAD: A HUGE Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support from my previous chapter's AN – which, just to keep up the flow of the story and my own positive emotions, I've now removed from the chapter in question;
I want each and every one of my readers to know that I really appreciate all the kind, supportive comments and encouragements and, now, as a wise woman once said: let's go on with the show…
"Boy-King of Infinity?" asked Harry, earning a nod from Hela, while Harry then saw Loki join the others on the raised platform, while Thor stood vigilant by the entrance, as though he was keeping watch over them all. "What…what do you mean by that, Your…Your Majesty?"
"Exactly what I say, little wizard," answered Hela, before she gently tapped Harry on his head, his heart and, to his amusement and curiosity, even his stomach before she spoke again.
"After all, what title apart from Boy-King would best suit the one interesting soul whom holds, wields and, one day, may even surpass the collective power of the Infinity Stones?"
Chapter 6: To Infinity and Beyond!
"At the dawn of the universe, there was nothing. Then the Big Bang sent six elemental crystals hurtling across the virgin universe. These Infinity Stones each control an essential aspect of existence…Space…Reality…Power…Soul…Mind…and Time."
Harry's eyes widened in awe, as well as recognition as, together, Doctor Strange, Franklin Richards, Loki and even his Mum combined their power to create a light-show that not only came with an awe-inspiring soundtrack, but also gave Harry chills as he watched all the descriptions and the events therein unfold.
When he saw the six so-called Infinity Stones, however, his eyes widened in abject disbelief, before he looked to Hela, who nodded softly as she told him, "Yes, my child-Master: these are the exact same stones whose power lie deep inside of you, thanks to that mysterious visitor to your home some months ago."
"What's she mean by that?" asked Franklin, as the images faded away, while Harry turned to the Omega-level youth, his eyes filled with the same awe and wonder he'd felt when he not only reunited with his Mother, but also met Hela and the Asgardian Princes, as he licked his lips nervously before he pointed to his stomach.
"Um…it…it's just that…these…Infinity Stones…they…they were given to me by…by somebody who looked like me and…and when he gave them to me, I…I kind of…ate them!"
Suddenly, Harry jumped as Thor let out a bellowing laugh of disbelief, while even Loki looked dumbfounded; as for the Illuminati, only Black Bolt seemed unaffected by what he had just heard – although, with the mask and cowl covering his face, Harry couldn't tell, save for the way his lips twitched in amusement as Harry said what he'd said.
"Hold up!" exclaimed Barnes, earning a scowl from Lily.
"Choose your next words very carefully, Bucky! Remember, you are, technically, no longer a member of this gathering and the only reason you are still here is because…actually, why is he still here?"
"As witness," said Christine, before she turned to Barnes as she added, "However, in the interest of actual safety and security of the events that brought the Illuminati together, once you leave this room, you will never be able to share what you have learned with anyone. Not Fury, or Coulson, not even that psychotically-obsessed monster, Ross: nobody! You'll be cursed with this knowledge, Captain, and unable to do anything about it: this is just one part of the penance you'll pay for betraying the ways of the Illuminati."
"And be thankful that's the worst thing we're doing to you," growled Lily, clenching Harry's shoulder as though she sought his touch to remind her why she was keeping control of her abilities…for now, at least. "In the meantime, perhaps we might turn our attention back to the very important surprise here: did you just say that you…you ate the Infinity Stones, sweetheart?"
"Yes, Mum," said Harry, gulping hard before he stepped away from his Mother, still clutching his belly as he explained, "I…I don't know how to be able to prove it, but…"
"Concentrate on the image," said Franklin suddenly, a note of support in his voice as he explained, "Then, just like we did to tell you the tale of the Stones, let your Mum, the Doc and I do the rest. Hell, if you really think you can, focus on the power of the Mind Stone and bleed that information into our heads…like you're showing us a home movie."
"I…I don't actually know how to…to do that, Franklin," said Harry honestly, licking his lips slowly before he explained, "When…when I was taught how to use my power, all…the only thing I was told was to…to imagine what I wanted to happen and…and it would. So…so that's how I was able to change things, like the train compartment I rode in, and conjure up my friend Charlie, and even make my relatives…um…what I mean is…"
"It's all right, sweetheart," said Lily suddenly, offering Harry a consoling smile as she explained, "I know they're not dead, but, given how Petunia and I continuously drifted apart because she couldn't get over what made us so different, I…I also suspect you've at least changed them somewhat. In the meantime, Franklin's right: if you let us in, willingly, this time, we can project the images from inside your head."
"Oh…o-okay," said Harry, walking back to his Mother before he gulped as he asked, "How do I do that, Mum?"
"Like this," said Lily, placing one hand on Harry's head; with her other hand, she raised it to the side of her head before, in a manner much like the guy who'd helped her tame the power of the Phoenix Force, she set two fingers against the side of her temples; as she did this, Harry also saw the X-shaped symbol on his Mother's eyepatch glowing with fiery-golden light, similar to that of the Phoenix she'd almost unleashed sometime earlier.
At the same time, out of the corner of his eyes, Harry saw Franklin holding his own hands to his skull, his eyes closed in focus while, to Harry's surprise, the bracer that Franklin had indicated earlier was glowing, pulsing blue light outwards like a heart.
Finally, Doctor Strange had her hands clasped around the amulet she wore, which slowly spun open; when it did so, Harry's eyes widened when he saw a familiar green stone fused inside the eye-shaped amulet, its light radiating outwards.
When she saw him looking, Christine nodded as she explained, "Now you understand why we're so surprised by your confession, Harry: you see, as Sorceress Supreme, it falls to me to not only be the guardian of Earth against mystical threats, but also to protect and ensure the security of the Time Stone. So, when Queen Hela said you were the wielder of the Stones, and you added that you'd eaten them, naturally, I was sceptical…and this is why: now, to answer your next question, I'm going to use the Time Stone to help Franklin and Lily focus on the images of the past, so that their psychic gifts might project them into the present…ready?"
Harry nodded, albeit shakily, before his eyes widened when Franklin's blue light, Lily's golden light and Christine's green light all flew outwards, combining as they had done when Harry learned of the Stones; now, however, their images came together to form a string of very different events.
Flashback Start
"Here…not to sound pervy or nothing, Harry, but…I want you to have these very special candies. Trust me, once you try one, you won't want to stop until you've eaten them all."
"Err…thanks…but…but why?" asked Harry, even as his hunger, as well as a feeling of awe at being given sweets that, for once, he didn't have to share with Dudley, won out as he opened the bag.
"Because, like a friend said to me, we've been playing by our own rules for so long…maybe it's time we start playing by theirs…"
"I don't understand."
"You will," said Harrison, watching as Harry reached into the bag…
And, seconds later, he pulled out a strange, circular, spherical sweet, which he popped into his mouth before, chewing it up loudly, he moaned in delight as he tilted his head back and gulped. "Yum…strawberries…and it was so strong too: thanks me!"
"You're welcome, kid," laughed Peverell, watching as Harry plucked out the next sweet, this one green, like his eyes, before he popped that one into his mouth too, causing it to fizz up on his tongue, before Harry swallowed it quickly, coughing as he did so…
"YOWZAH! Sour Apple flavour…ahh, my tongue's on fire…it's like it melted away so fast in my mouth…"
"Must have run out of time," drawled Harrison, offering Harry a bottle of water, "Here you go; this should help with the aftertaste."
Once the bottle was empty, Harry picked out the next sweet, this one pale-blue, before he sent that one the way of the other two; he even slurped on it before swallowing it whole. "Wow…it's like blue bubble-gum ice-cream…and it was kind of small too…"
"Maybe your throat grew when you ate it," chuckled Peverell, watching as Harry picked up and ate the next one without much effort.
"Lemon…blergh…I don't think I'll ever eat another lemon drop…"
"That's okay, then," argued Harrison, chuckling to himself as he knew, with the Mind Stone now added to its siblings in his alternate-self's belly, the taste was really ironic, given a certain someone's love of reading minds and fucking people over when he did it.
The fifth sweet was tangy, but juicy too, and Harry even said so. "Blackberries…and…something else…a really strong flavour…"
"I'll bet," chuckled Peverell, before he indicated Harry, "Last one, then: after this, you'll probably feel tired, but, trust me, kid, when you wake up…oh, the fun you'll be able to have…"
"Somehow, I know you're telling me the truth," said Harry, slipping the last sweet into his mouth before he hummed, "Mm…this one's…kind of mixed; like tropical flavours I can't really tell…ah well, I'm hungry anyway."
With one final gulp, Harry eased himself back, tossing the empty packet to Peverell, "So…what happens now?"
"What else? You sleep off your…very big meal," laughed Peverell, "But, before I go, a few words of advice…have fun, kid…and, whatever you do, don't let some nobody with a shield fetish, an overgrown bat-shagger, a toad's inbred offspring and some disgustingly-overcompensating Dudley Dursley wannabe with red hair think themselves your betters…in fact, right now, my alternate self…you are the boss here…have fun."
Flashback End
As the images faded again, Harry turned just in time to see a look of abject shock plastered on Hela's face, while Loki and Thor didn't know whether to laugh or look as stunned as their sister-Queen. As for the members of the Illuminati, each and every one of them, including Christine, T'Challa and Franklin, were all staring at Harry in wonder and, in Franklin's case, amusement as they all saw Harry gulp hard before he looked away from them and back to his Mum.
Lily, however, just sighed softly before she looked past her son as she asked, "That man…the…the other Harry…was he…"
"The Master of Death…or one of them, probably some lesser force from his Earth who united the Hallows and became something…more," said Hela, a note of unease and curiosity in her voice as she continued, "And I know what you're going to say, Lady Lily: if another Harry, from another Earth, whom has the power, or a diluted form of it, from the Master is on our Earth, how is it that we, or rather, you of the Illuminati were not warned of a possible Incursion?"
"A what?" asked Harry.
"An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes, and they collide, destroying one or both entirely," explained Franklin, earning a shocked look from Harry, while Franklin indicated Hela as he explained, "In the case of what Her Majesty is saying, the possibility of an Incursion comes from the all-powerful Master of Death and the power of the Infinity Stones from another Earth coming to ours and affecting it so much that our world, and his, end up on a collision course."
"However," added Christine, looking to her comrades for several minutes, during which, each one of them – even Barnes – shook their heads, as though they knew what she was thinking, before she looked back to Harry. "In this case, even if an Incursion were likely, it'd have happened by now, as an average Incursion collision can take up to 8 hours, whereas you and all the power currently tucked deep down in your tummy has been here for weeks."
"There is a possible explanation," said Loki suddenly, drawing everyone, even Harry's, attention to him, while the Asgardian Sorcerer tapped his leg in a rhythmic manner as he explained, "You see, as is well known to all here, sans young Harry, of course. But, as the rest of you know, on Asgard, we have the almighty Watcher and Guardian of the Bifrost, Heimdall, keeping watch over the Nine Realms. Thanks to his enchanted eyes, almost nothing escapes his notice, a force of sight that he can share with those he connects with. However, as I said, there are some exceptions: small pockets of reality where his eyes cannot see…such as this very Chamber, in fact."
"Well that explains why all three of you came here personally, instead of sending the messenger," argued Franklin, earning a faint smile from Thor.
"I challenge you to say those words to his face, young Richards."
Franklin seemed reluctant to comply, much to Harry's amusement, while Loki pressed on, "Anyway, in the case of young Harry here, it would seem that this all-powerful being from another Earth escaped even Heimdall's eyes. This tells me two possibilities: one, on his Earth, he is well-versed in ways to defy the eyes of the Watcher or, two: he doesn't actually exist on what we might call the Material Plane."
"So, he came from…where? The Astral Plane?" asked Christine.
"No," said Thor, shaking his head as he looked up to the Sorceress Supreme. "Even if he wandered in that realm, Heimdall would have sensed his presence, but, as my brother hints, when this other Harrison, the other Master of Death, walked in our world and our corner of the Multiverse, he was neither seen nor sensed in any way by Heimdall's gaze. Therefore, it is not the Material nor the Astral Plane he walks on: indeed, I suspect, as does Loki and even our sister, I suspect that this Harrison walks the path beyond Time and Space…able to appear and disappear without affecting the Material Plane; why, with the power of the Time Stone currently inside our Harrison, he might have even stopped time so that a split second passed in the time it took the young wizard to consume the Infinity Stones."
"Makes sense," agreed Lily, though she also smiled at how calm and respectful Harry seemed to be as he took in all the information being given to him. "And, since our Harry, my baby boy, is of our world, this other Harry likely fed him the Stones to do…what? Enhance his power? Protect the Stones in the last place the world would think to look? Maybe even try and corrupt Harry with their powers? What?"
"Can I take a guess?"
Now, every eye was on Harry, who stepped forwards, clutching at his belly again as he licked his lips slowly.
"Of course, you can take a guess, child," said T'Challa, while Black Bolt nodded in agreement with his friend and colleague.
Harry, meanwhile, cleared his throat as he rubbed his belly before he explained, "Well, when…when I was remembering what that other me did for me and…and gave to me, I…I remembered his words: about people like him…"
He indicated Barnes as he continued, "And how I was meant to have fun and make sure I was the boss. And…and you all heard him: it wasn't meant to be pervy or nothing. It was a gift and, I'll say it: it's been a gift that I've really enjoyed using, even if it meant I got brought before you guys and my Mum in the Illuminati. I mean, it made me better, stronger, happier and even gave me a family, so to speak: it also warned me of the threat that Dumbledore wanted me to die against and, yeah, okay, maybe I went a bit overboard in erasing all knowledge and thoughts of him wanting me to die like I did…"
"Underkill, I'd call it," drawled Franklin, while Lily nodded, as did Loki and Thor, much to Harry's surprise.
"But…but even now," continued Harry, again patting and rubbing his stomach as he explained, "I know I ate the Infinity Stones and…and, well, maybe…just maybe, what my other self did, it wasn't to cause an Incursion, but…but because, on his Earth, maybe he never got the chance to have real power. Maybe…maybe even, on his Earth, he was made to die for…for the Greater Good, before he became Master, or after, or I don't know when. And…and so, when something happened that let him gather the Stones together, he didn't decide to keep them safe or out of the wrong hands…maybe, he opened the Multiverse and…and decided to pass them onto another version of…well…him! One who had nothing, not even a dark thought or evil idea in their heads and…and yet, all the potential in the world…and when he found them…err…me, he…he chose me to hold this power and use it however I wished because…because that's what makes Magic so much fun. I mean, it would explain the letter."
"Letter?" asked Lily.
This time, Harry managed to conjure up the same letter he'd found in his cupboard, before he handed it to Lily; to the amusement and pride of the others, he then managed to conjure up replicas of the letter, which he passed around, allowing each member of the Illuminati to read the last words Harry had heard from his alternate self.
Harry
If you're reading this, it means you've clicked as to the fact that what happened between us was NOT a dream; sorry for not sticking around, Other Me, but…well, let's just say I wouldn't be doing either of us any favours by doing so.
If I know the Powers well enough, I'd imagine it won't be too long before you learn what I mean by that, but…anyway…let me fill in a couple of blanks for you.
First, those 'candies' I fed you were a HELL of a lot more than what they appeared to be; within each of them, there exists the means and power to make yourself better, stronger, greater and, in a nutshell, whatever and whoever you may choose to be.
Combined, however, the candies have the means to make you a King…maybe even a GOD!
All you need to do, for now, at least, is envision what you want to happen, what you want most, whatever you desire – as a wise man might have said – and the candies will make it happen. After that…well, that's up to you.
Oh, but I will leave you with a few parting words of wisdom, just to get you started: FIRST: You're a Wizard, Harry!
No, the Dursleys weren't telling the truth; in fact, those Three Ugly Sisters know all about your magic and your once-lesser gifts and sought to, in the words of the Incredible Bulk, stamp it out of you. So, do me a favour, Other Me: show them the error of their ways, would you?
SECOND: Mum and Dad didn't die in a car crash or whatever bullshit excuse this world's Dursleys fed you for years; in truth, our parents – yes, even my parents in my world: sad, but true – were murdered by a sadistic man-child of a loser named Tom Marvolo Riddle, alias the Dark Lord Voldemort, which, FYI, is actually a freaking ANAGRAM of his little boy's name.
They weren't freaks, whores, druggies or anything else: they were HEROES! And never let ANYONE tell you any different.
THIRD: Even without the candies inside of you – or, most-likely, assimilated into your power by the time you read this letter – you ARE a powerful wizard, Harry James Potter. More-powerful than some might like and greater than others will, in their minds, 'allow' you to be.
It is for this reason that I told you not to let CERTAIN PEOPLE knock you down, tell you that you can and can't do things and, most of all, be whatever you CHOOSE to be, even if you should, somewhere down the line, choose to release the candies back to their former selves…can't imagine why, though.
FOURTH: Not only are you a powerfully-talented wizard, Harry, you are also something that, if the Dursleys knew, they'd probably do ANYTHING to get it away from you…what are you?
FILTHY, STINKING, MOTHERFUCKING, KING'S RANSOMS FROM THE WORLD OVER COMBINED RICH!
It's true, Harry; you are rich! Hell, your wealth is, probably, the largest and most well-off in the world, unless some greedy Gus has managed to get his filthy, lemon-scented fingers on your wealth, in which case, I offer this advice. Use the power I've fed you and make yourself RICHER STILL!
Trust me, it's going to make life SO much more interesting for you down the line, especially when a certain lazy arse who is a magical version of Dudley learns how loaded you TRULY are!
Anyway, without spoiling too much more fun for you, this is all I can say…well, that's not true.
There IS one more thing: enjoy yourself, my divinely-empowered doppelganger: go ahead and live your life to the fullest and, if people don't like who you are and what you become, tell them to go fuck themselves.
Or MAKE them; trust me, if I happen to see you make it happen, I'll cry laughing and savour the popcorn along the way.
So, that's it…and, unless Fate – the slut – permits otherwise, this is the last time we'll communicate with each other.
Have fun, Harry.
As Dad might say, give 'em hell!
All the best, Other Me,
Harrison James Potter-Black-Peverell
Master of Death
Once again, silence followed the end of the letter, while each member of the Illuminati shared a bunch of curious, questionable looks with one another; after what seemed like an eternity, each one of them shredded the letters before, looking down at Harry, it was Christine who spoke.
"Harry James Potter…"
"Chrissie, you're not…" Lily began, but this time, it was Harry who cut her off as he raised a hand, shaking his head as he looked at her.
"It's okay, Mum; I know I still have to answer for being this powerful…go on, Doctor Strange…"
"Harry James Potter," repeated Christine, before she smiled fondly as she drew in a deep breath as she continued in a clear voice;
"By the power vested in me as Sorceress Supreme, I hereby release you from our custody: you are not the threat we believed you had it within you to be. Instead, I offer you not just the apologies of every Illuminati member present…"
"And Barnes," said Lily, earning a roll of the eyes from the Captain.
Christine, meanwhile, looked down at Harry with renewed fondness before she spoke again.
"And, to assist you in proving, both to us and to yourself that you are one with the potential for greatness, I would also like to offer you training in your Infinite Powers, all puns intended, as the ward and apprentice to the Sorceress Supreme and all present whom wish to aid you…all in favour?"
While Harry looked shocked by her words, he saw each and every hand go up, even Hela, Thor and Loki, while Lily not only raised her hand; she also tousled his hair and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
"Looks like it's a unanimous decision," said Christine, looking to Franklin before she asked, "How long will it take you to create a new focus?"
"As soon as he says what he wants it to look like," said Franklin, earning a curious look from Harry, before Franklin tapped his glowing bracer as he explained, "Like your Mum's eyepatch, Harry, my bracer is actually what we call a foci for my powers; much like a wizard's wand, or Chrissie's Eye of Agamotto, or even Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, the foci allows us to channel and command the immense powers inside of us without letting them control us. The key part is the gem and energy conduit in the heart; in your Mum's case, it was the feather of an actual phoenix that had been woven into the material, whereas I chose an Arc Stone, from my Uncle Tony's collection, for my bracer. The rest…is just to make it look awesome and badass, even your Mum's X-Patch…so, like I said, once you decide what you want yours to look like, I can forge it for you, no problem."
"After that," said Thor, his voice radiating wisdom and strength as he explained, "We friends and brothers and sisters in arms and duties can teach you to harness your powers, as Franklin and Lady Phoenix were taught. Personally-speaking, and with all due respect to our human counterparts, my friends, I can think of none better than the Goddess of Death and new God of Magic, meaning my brother and sister, to aid the young warrior."
"Hear, hear," said Lily, before she smiled as she added, "But I hope you realise that doesn't mean we won't get involved: at the end of the day, Thor, he is my son…Phoenix Force or no Phoenix Force."
"Aye," agreed Thor, before he looked to Harry, "Well, young one: what say you?"
Harry, looking around the room, gulped hard before, looking down at his stomach, he smiled thinly as he looked up to Franklin Richards.
"This might sound strange, and I don't really know why I'm suggesting this one, but…can I have a gauntlet?"
So, a WEIRD chapter 6 and it looks like Harry's free and clear, but now he has a new lease on life, new allies and a whole new path forged ahead of him, can he actually use the Infinity Stones to help his Earth in ways his alternate self couldn't?
Also, is he serious? A gauntlet? A fracking gauntlet? Ah well, at least it won't be gold…will it, Harry?
Keep Reading to Find Out
Next Chapter: With his new foci in hand, literally, Harry decides to go back to Hogwarts: in a bid to help him, the Illuminati leave him with some gifts, including something that, on this Earth, won't take two years and longer to come to light…all thanks to the one who knows the truth for what it is;
