In the midst of battle
It came to realization
There was a price to his friendship
But he paid it willingly.
For he loved them all
To save them
he sacrificed everything.
With tears of regret
he told them how much he cared
and wished to have known them longer.
So strong and brave,
yet so young,
filled with love for his friends and country.
As his friends clung to his small hands
they said not to give up.
He told them:
"This is right
don't worry, we will meet again, ne?"
He smiled and then-
closed his eyes and-
whispered:
goodbye.
