A Little Fall of Rain
Original lyrics from Les Miserables
Disclaimer: I don't own Les Miserables or Lord of the Rings, so don't sue me… I do not realize what I am doing…
All right, so it was originally a love song… and this is Boromir and Aragorn. No slash intended in this, because they're not confessing their love or anything like that, but you know… it sorta fit…sorta…*shifty eye movement*
(BOROMIR is hit by three orc arrows. MERRY and PIPPIN are carried off by the orcs. BOROMIR falls, dropping his sword by his side and ARAGORN finds him where he has fallen. BOROMIR struggles for breath.)
BOROMIR
Frodo! I'm sorry Aragorn,
I tried to take that thing
I tried to take the ring
I regret ever coming
I don't know what came over me
The little ones, Aragorn!
The orcs have taken them!
You must go after them, now!
(ARAGORN motions for him to be silent, and puts his hand on an arrow.)
ARAGORN
We will find them, Boromir, we will
But you are injured, let the arrows out
(BOROMIR stops ARAGORN's hand.)
BOROMIR
Leave them there, just let them be
Promise you will get Pip and Merry
ARAGORN
That we will do, take my word
If it's the last thing we do
We won't stop 'till they're found
BOROMIR
I should have never come…
I've been nothing but a burden
The little ones, Aragorn!
The orcs have taken them!
But I will sleep knowing they're safe…
Protect the White City,
My dear home
Now my mind is clear
Near time of rest
After all this time of doubt
You're my King, after all
(GIMLI and LEGOLAS come across the two and watch as BOROMIR coughs up blood.)
BOROMIR
ARAGORN
Poor Frodo! I'm sorry Aragorn,
Don't say a word, Boromir
I tried to take that thing
We don't blame you at all
(ARAGORN gives BOROMIR his sword)
I tried to take the ring
You fought them bravely
I regret ever coming
You kept your honor strong
I don't know what came over me
You did no wrong
The little ones, Aragorn!
You must not think about that
The orcs have taken them!
You must go after them, now!
They will live,
What are you waiting for…
What are we waiting for? We'll go...
(BOROMIR dies before he can finish his sentence, and the others bow their heads. Curtains.)
