Abby Jennings was 15. Her golden blonde hair hung around her shoulders as she wrote out the letter. That fateful day when she was kidnapped still haunted her dreams. She still though of Marvin. As much as she tried to forget that day; the memory would never fade. That day had changed her life forever.
Her mother, Karen, had killed herself three years ago. Abby remembered seeing all that blood. That look on her father's face. He looked so broken and weak. Nobody told Abby why her mother killed herself. Nobody told Abby anything.
After her mother's death, her father kept a close watch on Abby. He never let her date or do anything. He thought he was protecting her. In reality he was just driving her to the grave.
Abby looked at herself in the mirror. She saw her mother's blue eyes and golden hair. She had her daddy's face. There was no doubt that she was a beautiful girl. She just wanted to end it all.
Some days she would stay up until the sun came out, thinking about her father. She knew those thoughts were impure. She dreamt about her father touching her and kissing her. She just wanted to feel loved.
One night she crept into her daddy's room. He was asleep. She crawled in bed next to him and laid her head on his chest. She could smell the liquor on his breath. He stirred under her.
"Karen?" he asked, gazing at Abby.
"Yes," Abby answered; secretly hoping her dreams would become reality.
"I've missed you so much," he said, kissing her lips.
"Me too baby, me too."
He stared at her intensely and said,
"Karen, you're dead."
Abby sat up on the bed.
"Daddy, I just wanted you to feel better," she said.
"Abby, what the hell are you thinking these days?"
"You never look at me anymore."
He ran his fingers through her hair.
"Go back to bed."
She did. Around three she went into her father's study and found his gun. She sat down on his leather chair and pulled on of his dress shirts around her small frame. She laid the note on his desk and pulled the trigger.
He found her body in the morning. For some reason he couldn't cry. He smoothed back her bloody hair and read the note.
Daddy,
I'm sorry I had to do this. Nobody was giving me answers, so I had to figure them out my self. It's me. Mama killed herself because she just couldn't look at me anymore, I brought back those memories. You can't look at me anymore because I remind you of her. Just be happy now. I solved the problem. I love you forever.
Abby
Will stared at the note before calling the ambulance. Deep down he knew she was right.
