The morning is always crisp and clear, here.
From where I'm sitting, braced in a window, I can see the sakura trees and their everlasting snow pink blossoms. They drift in a pleasant little breeze; enough to ruffle their petals in an aesthetic manner, enough to give the illusion of fresh air. As I look out, the sun is creeping higher and higher into the sky, lightening the flowers as it goes. Their shadows will shift, if I wait long enough, but I won't.
I rarely do, but I certainly won't this morning.
I stand, pad naked and barefoot to the bed in the center of the room. The sheets are navy blue cotton; very fine, and comfortable to sleep on, but not ostentatious, showy, or in any way too much. Certainly less expensive, I think, which brings a smile to my lips.
The bed creaks softly, barely noticeable, as I sit and swing my legs over the edge. Next to me, Tatsumi stirs a little, before I smooth a hand down his face. I'd always thought that he'd be a light sleeper, ready to leap up at the tiniest of noises; imagine my surprise, to find that he isn't.
His lips move, a bit. I frown, wondering if I even need ask myself what he says.
Of course not. I'm no fool, no matter what it seems like, and I'm not a scientist because I'm stupid, or brainless, or silly, or whatever adjectives are the fashion right now.
My mind shapes the image easily enough. Tatsumi, arched on top of me, hands gripping my hips tight enough to bruise a mortal's skin, head thrown back and for once, not worrying about anything at all. Perhaps he should have been, if I were anyone but who I am.
After all, the names "Tsuzuki" and "Watari" certainly aren't anything alike.
Notes: I can't decide whether that was angsty, or just contemplative. You tell me ^^ I had written more, but then I realized that it was finished, despite all efforts to the contrary, and gave up. Maybe I'll add more on, eventually, but for now, this stands as is: short and sweet. Thanks for reading, and I'll hug you if you leave a review!
