Author's Notes: I don't think this part is as good as the first and neither
part has been beta'd, I haven't even gone over this one properly yet. But
I'm leaving for a while so I figured to get this one up while I could.
To the Freeborn
All I have to say is that you are the war. Of course, not the war in the way that involves death, horror and blood, but in the way that you are the reason this war is being fought. It is for you and your family and friends that the fighters continue their struggle. For after all the soldiers of this generation are dead and gone, your descendants will be alive and continuing to survive.
The reason I'm saying all this is to thank you for reminding me what I'm fighting for. These days, a reminder like that is hard to come by. However, the next time I'm complaining that it's too cold, that the food tastes like crap or that there is nothing to do, I'll remember you and exactly what I am fighting for.
Of course, you could be completely different than I'd like to think you are. You could be a non-believer, think that the Oracle and the Prophecy is nothing but a lie made to cheer the people up. You could be anything other then what I think but I refuse to believe that. It would take away my reason to continue living, to continue to fight. Therefore I have to believe you are everything I think you are.
I have no wish to meet you, to introduce myself, shake your hand and get acquainted. And by not doing any of those things, I am probably just preserving my vision. It's just that, I want you to know that by crossing my path – completely accidentally – you have rekindled my desire to fight again. To fight with a passion. That is more then a stranger should have to do. But thank you for your wonderful, unintentional gift to me.
