Next Generation
Chapter One
The floor was freezing and a slight hum ran through it creating a painful sensation. A quite sob came from the room, it was to the left of me, I think. The blind fold keeps me from seeing, but my mother always told me that 'sight was the weakest of the six senses even if it was the most used'. I can hear four other people breathing, and I'm not sure if one of them is one of my captures or not. The smell is oily like were in the back of a truck or a plane, my guess it's the plane, but I'm unsure. Of course I'm unsure I've never been in danger before.
I grew up in Portland Oregon. My mom's is a schoolteacher; lived in the same two bedroom, two bathroom house, with a small blue kitchen highlighted with sunflowers. God I can't believe I'm about to cry, of course I'm gonna cry, I was just kidnapped for no apparent reason. There are whimpers of people trying not to cry all around me.
The Voices!
I know there are only four people in this room if the whimper match that means there's no one there with a gun pointed at me.
"Shut up already" I yell when I final catch the number of girls almost crying, and I began to struggle against my binds.
"You know the most reason, people die in a hostage situation is because they won't shut up". The crying stops almost immediately with the exception of a few gasps and shuddered breath. My hands are taped together but not with duck tape, I think. I can feel it loosening… Just a little more slightly more pressure on my left. There! Free at last. I tear my blind fold way and looked about. A small room only lit by a dim light in the ceiling, there were four girls strung about, all on the verge of crying. I roll my eyes. I wasn't anymore prepared for this then they were but I'm not crying. I reach for the closest girl, and she screams, and I mean the ear piercing scream the one that makes you want to poke your eye's and ear's out while blood comes pouring out.
"Calm down" I yell back and take a deep breath to calm myself. Okay so patients isn't my thing. I flip my blonde hair behind my shoulder, I knew I should have gotten it cut, and untie her bonds, next cam her blind fold. Her brown eyes meet my green.
"Who are you?" She asks. Out of the corner of my eye's I can see the other girl's lean forward, to catch my answer.
"Talia Bristow" I answer.
