Zechs sighed. How many times did he and his girlfriend, Usagi, argue
about this? What, did she think he enjoyed leaving her? He didn't. He
wished that he could do nothing more than remain with her forever. But it
simply could not be. He was in the military, and there were small fights
still going on with the radicals who decided war hadn't been enough. Now
they wanted to ruin his life. Just great. As if enough of his life wasn't
ruined already, now they had to take the one thing he would die for.
But what was wrong with Usagi? Did she think he didn't love her or something? He loved her with all his heart! How could she not know that?! He felt a twinge of guilt. He never told her he loved her. He always came home to her tearstained cheeks, but he left her alone, not wanting the complications for when he had to leave. He knew things were already complicated. That scared him, because he didn't want to hurt her, or be hurt, but he knew it was already to late to do anything to stop it. She seemed in doubt of his feelings sometimes. When he thought about her doubting his feelings, he became uncomfortable, and ended up sleeping with her. For some reason, lately, she just seemed to lay there, watching him. She still felt everything, but she didn't seem as enthused as she used to be. But he continued, desperately trying to find a way to convey his feelings to her.
Here he was, six blocks away, and he forgot his gun. He drove back home. Treize always annoyed him when he forgot his pistol. The last thing he needed was Une and Treize badgering him about what he could have been doing to make him forget his gun.
He found a note on the door with his name on it. This sent him into an internal panic. Her last words had been "If you leave, I won't be here when you come back!"
He tore the note open furiously.
"Dear Zechs,
I'm sorry. I love you. I just couldn't take feeling like I was nothing more than a good lay to you. I have always loved you, and always will. Somehow, I imagined you to be my knight in shining armor that would love me… but that was all a lie, wasn't it? Don't feel bad. Don't cry when you find me. By the way, I'm sorry to have to use your gun for this.
All my love,
Usagi Tsukino"
He read it once, then re-read the last two lines. He immediately unlocked the door, and ran inside without shutting the door.
He started looking around for her, searching for any sign of her. He ran into the bedroom. He heard heaving sobs coming from the bathroom. He opened the door just as his only love, his girlfriend, the one he woke up for in the morning, put the pistol into her mouth. Her eyes closed, and she put her finger on the trigger….
"STOP!!!!!" He shouted.

That is a dramatic story. Now, should it be a prologue, or not? Hmm…. I wonder…
