He watched as Max latched onto Tyson as if he was preventing him from breathing.

Kai decided he didn't get boys.

He watched as Mariah latched onto Rei with even more ferocity, making the tan features turn purple.

Kai decided that girls were no better.

He looked at himself, his hands glowing that weird pale shine that he always found so peculiar. They itched to do something. His face itched from the now plastic feeling triangles. He wondered if they were peeling. His feet hurt from standing. There was nowhere to sit.

He could hear the stadium roaring incomprehensibly.

Kai looked up again. Tyson was still jumping up and down with Max hanging around his waist. Twit. He suddenly had an urge to kick him.

Rei was getting swamped by fan girls. Kai smiled, and closed his eyes, leaning against the wall to take the weight off his feet. The screams of horror was music to his ears. He didn't envy that guy one bit. To be sure, he shrunk against the wall. Out of sight. Out of mind.

But not out of hearing.

Tyson was still screaming "We WON! We WON!" Max was just screaming. Twits.

Kai cautiously opened one eye. Without fail, it happened after every match. This match had too much publicity. He opened the other one and looked around. No sign. He nodded and deemed it safe.

Briskly he leaned off the wall and headed toward the exit.

Almost safe.

A hand tugged on his shirt.

Damn.

He turned around. Double damn.

The boy toed the ground nervously. They looked at each other. Well, Kai assumed they looked at each other. He couldn't tell. He fought the urge to recoil. Triple damn. He knew what was coming.

Arms wrapped around his waist. The tips of chestnut hair tickled his nose. The hardness of metal pressed against his back, still in those hands. Damn that laptop too.

"Congratulations," Kenny said softly, and didn't let go. Hug.

Kai sighed, standing stiff as a board. This always happened. He didn't know why. He didn't encourage it. It never failed. His feet still hurt from standing. His nose now itched as well. He felt... strangely warm.

He lifted his arms, and patted the other boy on the back awkwardly.

Kenny squeezed. And let go.

Neither of them said a word. Kai watched as Kenny joined the twits.

Kai decided he didn't get boys.

But this hugging business wasn't so bad.

Owari.
