Yeah, so I wrote this a while ago for a friend… we're both unnaturally obsessed with Moulin Rouge J! Anyway, I tried to integrate song lyrics from the movie into the poem. Hopefully you'll like!

The Windmill Red

Through thy glory and thy tears,

Through the toils of thy years,

Through misery, through dread,

Turns the windmill red.

When the storm clouds gather,

And the emotions tatter,

The stars collide,

Thy heart breaks inside.

So quick is this world to deceive,

That soon we are all fools to believe.

Yet lose not hope, for when nothing seems real,

Forget not the worth of the Bohemian ideals!

Leave all this to yesterday, fly away and cry no more,

But remember: live thy life by these rules four:

Freedom- to live, for life is not for fearing,

To let out thy feelings, for the world is ever-hearing.

Beauty- of heart, revealed by gift of song

Existing in everyone, none shall prove it wrong.

Truth- honor others and most importantly thyself,

Never take on pretense, never trust the stealth.

Above all things, thou must cherish

Love- the oxygen of life,

It lifts us up where we belong, it delivers us from strife.

Live with passion, not without zeal,

But bear in mind the false and the real.

Thus turns the windmill red.

For the show must go on; outside the dawn breaks ahead.

When solace is found neither on the earth below nor in the skies above,

Look only to these four words of Freedom, Beauty, Truth, and Love.

So…? How was it? I think it was awkward at some points, especially the last 2 lines, but I really didn't know how to fix them up. Well, REVIEW!! PLEASE!!!!
