It was a perfect day, the sun high up in the sky, the birds chirping happily. A pink haired boy laid under a tree sleeping peacefully. His pink hair danced lightly across his face along with the gentle breeze making him look like a cherub.
Light filtered from the canopy of leaves and onto the sleeping boy's face. The boy twitched as he began to wake up blinking his luminous amethyst eyes. He sat up gracefully, rubbing sleep off his eyes with the back of his hand.
"Yuki, where are you?" Shuichi asked as he stood up from his perch under the weeping willow tree. Dread suddenly seized Shuichi's heart when he realized that his blond lover was nowhere to be seen. He was about to run around the park to look for Yuki when he saw the blond novelist approaching him. He immediately bolted up to fling himself towards his lover when he stopped dead in his tracks.
Yuki wore a solemn face, not that it was unusual for the blond to look that way, but what caught Shuichi's attention was the dried tear tracks on the his cheeks and the puffy red eyes, signs that Yuki had been crying. Behind Yuki were all of Shuichi's friends; they also look sad.
"Yu...Yuki, what's wrong?" Shuichi asked as he slowly approached his lover.
Yuki took a deep calming breath and looked straight into Shuichi's eyes, amber boring through amethyst. "Shu-chan," he said slowly "I've been thinking lately. I know I've been such a jerk and I always end up hurting you and I am sorry for it. I also know I should have said this sooner to you but my fears got in the way. You see I am afraid that once I had told you my feelings that you would leave me. But I was wrong," he took another deep breath and continued, "Shuichi, I love you," Yuki said with all sincerity in his amber eyes.
Shuichi's breath was caught in his throat as crystalline tears made their way down his cheeks. He was so happy Yuki finally confessed his love for him not to mention in front of his friends also.
"YUUUKI~II!!!" Shuichi flung himself in his lover's arms but as he did so, something happened. He passed through Yuki. Shocked he stood up and looked amongst his friends to ask them what was going on and he saw them all crying. "Mi... minna what's wrong? What going on?" he asked confused at the turn of events. Then he faced Yuki, who just began to walk away.
"Yuki?" he asked as he ran to catch up with his lover. "Yuki, why won't you answer me? What's going on? Why did I..." his voice trailed off when Yuki kneeled in front of a grave and place a single rose on top of it.
There etched on a grave marker was his name...
"Shindou Shuichi"

A/N: Morbid? Yeah, I know. Actually, this is a Gravitation version of my fic Good Enough. It is base on a short story that I have read when I was still in elementary and I already forgot the title. But it is basically a story about a young girl who woke up one morning finding her house full of her friends and relatives and then her best friend, a boy, approach her holding a rose in his hand. The boy asked her if she still remembers the time when she asked him if he loves someone and that during that time he cannot answer her and instead he ran off. Then he told her that it's because the person he loves is she, but she won't know it because she is dead. The girl was stunned and when she looks back she saw a coffin with her in it. The boy places the rose on top of the coffin and left. I hope you like it. Please R&R. BTW, thank you to all who reviewed my fic Change of Destiny.
