A/N: I love Demon Diary, yes I do, yes I do! Unfortunately, I can find no fic for it. . . so I am reduced to writing my own so that I can read it. If you find fic, you SEND to me, yes? Please? *big eyes*

"Dancing"

Raenef was strange. There was no denying this; he was a human-come-demon lord, after all. And he was giddy, and silly, and ditzy, and he was fascinated by things like Eclipse's hair and tomatoes.

Raenef also liked to dance alone in his room, which was perhaps not so strange, except maybe for someone of his rank. But he'd not held said rank long, and so he still loved to dance.

He hummed a song he'd picked up long ago, a lilting tune of the South - another strange thing, here in the North. He danced alone in his room, humming and occassionally singing a snatch of lyrics, arms raised over his head. On impulse he pulled his hair out of its ponytail and shook his head, letting the strands fall over his face. After all, he was alone; he could let his hair down, with all the relaxation that it implied.

It was all too easy for him to lose himself in his personal song, just as it was all too easy for him to lose himself during lessons. Occassionally it would be the song that made him lose his concentration while Eclipse was trying to teach him, working its insiduous way into his head, and taking over what bit of attention he had. It took over now, and he let it; let the drumbeats in his mind tell him when to move his hips, the mental flute tell him how to swing his arms, the guitar when to turn his head.

And, because strange things inevitably happened to Raenef, he shouldn't have been surprised when he felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist. But of course, as Raenef was also somewhat inobservant of his surroundings, he froze and fairly squeaked. He then recognized who it was behind him when a strand of ink-black hair fell over his shoulder. He found himself pressed tightly against the other demon's body, Eclipse's head nestled in his shoulder.

Strange, indeed, but not unwanted, and he leaned back against Eclipse. Eclipse was surprisingly warm, and the embrace was comfortable. Like always, Eclipse was the only one who could bring him even slightly out of his dream-world, although the method was unusual.

"It's time for dinner," Eclipse whispered, his breath tickling Raenef's ear. Raenef nodded, and realized that he ought to worm his way out of Eclipse's arms and dress properly. However, he liked his current position, and Eclipse seemed just as content to stand and hold him. He didn't mind if it made him late for dinner, and for once, neither did the black-haired demon behind him.

He simply nestled into Eclipse's robes, song still playing in his ears to the background of the other's breath.

:::come and take a dance with me:::
