Teen Titans- Starfire's Lament
Author's Note: This is the 2003 Teen Titans (the one that premiered on Cartoon Network), for those of you people wondering. This takes place after the episode "Sisters", where Starfire feels bad about her sister, Blackfire. Takes place in Robin's POV.
It had been a hectic day, but I was glad it was over. Back at the Titans Tower, we were all doing our usual- Raven was studying her magic book (A/N- You think even a Teen Titan is born with magic skills? Please!), Cyborg was looking for the remote again (but didn't tell him that I hid it in Raven's room. Ha-ha!), Beast Boy was in the cafeteria, looking for a vegetable sandwich, and I was, unusually, looking for Starfire. After the incident with her Tamaranian sister, Blackfire, I haven't seen her at all today. I had checked the whole Titans Tower, and the only place I hadn't checked was the roof. And, just as I thought, she was there. But, she didn't have her usual cheerful look on her face like she always did. "Hey, Star, what's wrong?" I asked her. "I.....I feel bad for my sister," Starfire said softly as I sat down by her. "And for yourself, right?" I replied. "At least I found out the truth before I got replaced," she then said. "Wha-...." I trailed off. "Listen, Starfire, your sister was interesting and all, but she could never replace you. No one could ever replace you," I said to her. After a few seconds of awkward silence, she smiled at me. The old Starfire was back. For a few minutes, we stared onward into the horizon, not thinking much.
Five minutes later, I felt Starfire's arm on my shoulder. I looked at her- she had a loving look on her face. "Thank you so much for saving me today," she said before putting her other arm around me and leaning close to me. "Hey, not a problem, Starfire," I said as I hugged her back. We stood like that for a while until I heard an explosion of words- Cyborg was really mad now. "Hey, what is wrong with Cyborg?" Starfire asked. "I think he may know that the remote's missing," I replied. "OK, Beast Boy, where is it?!" I heard Cyborg say. "Where is what?" Beast Boy's voice joined in. "You know what!" Cyborg yelled. "Why are you two arguing over the useless remote again?" Raven's soft voice entered. "Because it's lost again! Beast Boy probably took it!" "I did not! I was in the cafeteria!" "This is another pointless argument over a useless device. You are once again wasting your energy and disrupting my concentration." "Do you think we should tell them that you hid this lost remote in Raven's room?" Starfire asked. "Nah, let's let them find it. Come on, let's go get a sandwich," I proposed. "That is a great idea! I am starved!" Starfire exclaimed. I took her hand, and together, we walked back into the Titans Tower.
