I'll remember.
You loved, you hated, you wanted, you needed...you just were more desperately and passionately than anyone else I ever knew. You kissed more passionately than anyone I ever knew.
You were my life. You are my life.
You loved. You loved me, you loved your friends, you loved your school, you loved Quidditch, you loved sunshine and summer and moonlit kisses in the Astronomy tower with any girl you could find. And when you loved something, you loved entirely and without rhyme or reason. You were loyal. You were so distressingly, unreasonably, selfishly and selflessly loyal.
You hated. You hated your parents, you hated your brother, you hated your home, you hated Voldemort, you hated Slytherin, you hated Potions and exams and cold nights with no one to snuggle. And when you hated something, you hated it entirely and without rhyme or reason. You would lash out with hatred and anger, and you wouldn't apologize unless you really meant it.
You wanted happiness, you needed love, you could break hearts and flips tummies and make hearts beat faster. But you knew that. You knew it and you were smug about it. And I hated you for it, hated you even as I loved you.
Your life was not happy. Your life was not full of love and security. You were a neglected and forgotten child, a confused and petty teenager, a man falsely accused, and suddenly on the run and father to a hero when you never had a father yourself.
You are my hero.
Perhaps you will be forgotten. You and the line that died with you. Your life, your thoughts, your endless, wild dreams and desires and wishes, all gone when you fell. I promised you then, and I promise you now and forever.
I'll remember.
Always yours,
Liz
"Elizabeth? We can't be long."
"I know. I'm coming."
"What is that?"
"A letter."
"A letter? You wrote a letter? To whom?"
"Him. I'm leaving it here...with him."
"Oh."
"Are you coming? You said we had to leave."
"Of course...are you okay?"
"No. Are you?"
"No."
"We have to move on, Remus."
"I know, Elizabeth."
"I loved him."
"I know."
"I still do."
"I know."
