A/n: This poem is from both Sam and Frodo's perspective and about their feelings when they have to leave each other.

Farewell

Why must you leave us
Mister Frodo, sir
we should live long together
here in our peaceful land
why must you leave me behind
my Master sir
toward the grey sea you depart
with these fair folk
but what about me
through the dark mines
and the fires of Mordor
I followed you
don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee
that's what Gandalf told me
and I never did
so why now do you journey alone to the sea

Oh my dear Samwise
where I go you must not come
for staying here my heart grows heavy
the old burden invades my mind
over the sea I must go
following the other keepers
my one journey you cannot follow
but live my dear Sam
all the days of your life
with joy and happiness
and perhaps one day we will meet again
Farewell my dear friend
and do not grieve
for now perhaps we can all find peace
