While Syn was away, Orion's parents came back from vacation, a day or two early. They entered the house, knowing full well that there had been another person living there, it was like they could smell it. Orion came down from his bedroom, hoping to of course see Syn; he even called his lover's name. His parents heard, and met him at the door. His face held surprise then sudden fear. He realized his mistake of calling Syn's name. They watched him first for a moment before the questions came.
'…Who is Syn?'
'My friend, he--'
His parents looked aghast at the word 'he'. 'Has he been living here while we where gone? He could've hurt you…'
'No! He would never hurt me!'
'You don't know that, dear...he could have taken advantage of you! Raped you even, some men do that...'
The truth at what they say showed on his face and in the trembling of his voice. 'I'd wanted it…it wasn't rape…' His eyes grow wide at his choice of words as he realized the mistake of what he said.
'You ~slept~ with him?!' His father yelled angrily as tears filled Orion's eyes and he nodded. 'I can't believe that my own son would turn to such a perversion...' He stated, shaking his head, rage in his eyes.
'I love him…'
The rage in the father's eyes grew as they shot to Orion. 'You're only thirteen! You couldn't possibly know what love really is!! And to love another man as one should love a woman is just wrong! It's a perversion!'
'I-it's not father! It's not!!'
His mother spoke up. 'Orion, shh. Listen to your father.'
'No!!' Tears run down Orion's cheeks. 'It's not a perversion to love Syn! It's not!'
His father grabbed him roughly by the arm and started towards the basement door. 'Until you get these ~ideas~ out of your head, you will be in darkness. Perhaps you will come to your senses soon. No food, no water…' He opened the door, dragging Orion down the steps and to a small barred cage before unlocking the door and pushing him inside it. 'And no light…nor moving…solitary confinement, Orion. Say you don't love this ~Syn~ that you've mentioned and I will take you out of there right now.'
Orion watched his father, and his mother who was behind him from the small cage that barely allowed him to shift and forced him to sit hunched in a slightly cramped position, the tears still streaming down his cheeks as he shook his head. 'No…I love Syn…I love him with all my heart…'
The rage grew hard in his father's eyes before he turned. 'Very well, son, you shall stay here…I will come back in five days…if you're not dead by then, perhaps you will then deny your perversion.'
His mother whispered softly to herself, like Orion always had a tendency to do. 'I can't believe my own son…would even dare say that he loved a man as such. It's not right…it's just not right…' She fallowed her husband back up the stairs. The last thing that Orion heard was his mother's soft sigh before the door was locked and he was in total blackness, inside the cold, metal barred cage.
He curled slightly, tears in his eyes as he thought of Syn and hoped for his return.
