Chapter I : Blood of the Innocent

It was a dark, gloomy day in the city of Alexanderus. It was raining outside of the domes. I thought the rain would never stop. I sat there at my window, peaking at the streets, moving my blonde hair out of the way so I could see with my green eyes.
My name is Amanderous Terofik (Amanda-ross Tear-o-fick). I live outside the domes of the city of Alexanderus. I have a poor family consisting of my mother, my father, a younger sister, and a younger brother. They rely on me to help work for money. It's hard when too many people rely on you.
I love my blue jacket. My mother made it for me when I was a little kid. It didn't fit and it still doesn't. I can still cover down to my ankles. I work a very dangerous job. I am a bounty hunter. I hunt people who are wanted by my government.
My weapons of choice are my trusty handgun and my long sword. I named my gun "Masduras" and my sword "Masatura". Masduras (Mass-door-as) means loyal and almighty in Cerich. Masatura (Mass-a-to-ra) means owning great strength. These names were given to them by my father. He gave them to me since he was growing to old to use them. They weigh a lot, but not too much for me.
I am very proud of my job, but it is hard. You are always risking your life. I dislike killing people, but if I must, I shall. I only wish for peace throughout the world. Life isn't easy in the slums. I only wish to my family to live happily.
One thing bothers me. On my way home yesterday, I saw a strange figure creeping in and out of the alleyways. It looked like a strange man with hair sticking up from the top of his head. I was hoping it wasn't him. It couldn't have been him.
"Amanda!" my mother called. "Come down for dinner!"
"Coming, Mother." I responded. I walked down the stairs and my family greeted me with a hug from each person. "What are we eating tonight?" I asked.
"We are having tomato soup and vegetables!" my little sister cheered. She lover tomato soup and vegetables.
"It looks delicious mother." I said cheering up my mother and keeping her mind off the fact that we are poor.
"Thank you, Amanda," she said. As soon as we were finished with dinner, she gave us each a kiss. When I came to her, she said, "Get enough sleep. We wont be safe if our little bounty hunter is too tired." She smiled and kissed me on the cheek.
"I love you, Mother," I responded back. I walked up stairs, tucked in my siblings, and got into my bed. "Good night, Alandu," I said, just before I fell asleep.
