"To Live With Hate"

a/n: I'm having a major writer's block with "In the Valley of the Shadow of Death" so I wrote this short piece to help me get over it. Enjoy

"Have you ever been convicted of a felony?"

Simon looked down at the paper. No, he had never been convicted legally or officially, but he had been condemned by every person who walked by him on the street or every time his parents or siblings looked at him. A simple look away from the road had turned him in to a killer overnight.

Killer,

the word left a bitter taste in his mouth. Killers were horrid, despicable people who were avoided and feared. At least that's what he had though 'till he had become one himself. Someone's life had ended because of him and now his would too. Well, at least symbolically. He had lost everything: his girlfriend, his family, his friends, his school, his town, and now his home. He was being ripped out of his life in the middle of his senior year and was being shipped off to college all the way in Boston. A city were no one knew him and he didn't know them; a perfect chance to start over, to begin anew. At least that's what everyone kept telling him. But, is was easy for them. They wouldn't have to live with the guilt and self hatred for the rest of their lives; they could remain the perfect Camden children with their perfect lives.

Fortunately, Simon Camden wouldn't have to live with his self loathing for too long. Justin aimed the gun and fired to self satisfying shots in to Simon's already broken body. And as darkness soon overcame him, he couldn't help but wish he wouldn't wake up.
