Summary: This is Elrond POV the night before he sails.

Enough rambling on with the fic. All reviews are welcome and appreciated.

Elrond sat staring out the window of his bedroom. He would be sailing tomorrow, never to lay eyes on Imaldris again. Silent tears ran down his face for he did not wish to leave his children, but his time had come. The only small comfort he had was that he would see his Celebrian again.

He was stirred from his thoughts as Arwen entered the room. She was so beautiful, he thought. So much like her mother. Arwen silently stepped to her father and embraced him. Her eyes met his and her lips moved as if to ask him a question. Elrond put his finger to her lips to silence her and just held her tightly as she wept for the loss of her father.

Elrond's mind drifted to his children's growing years. Each one with their own unique gifts. Arwen's her beautiful voice, and many times he had sat and listened to the evenstar. Her voice and songs had brought many smiles to his face over the years. He was now sorry he would never hear it again.

"Come Arwen," Elrond said as he ushered her to her room. He tucked her in and looked at her once more. "Ada, I will never see you again," Arwen managed through choked sobs.

"Alas, I too regret your choice Undomiel but I will never truly be gone from you." With this said he wrapped her in his arms one last time and sang her a lullabye that Celebrian had sang to all of them so long ago.

Celebrian had sang that lullabye to her the day she had sailed to the sea. Elrond looked down at Arwen who had fallen asleep in his comforting arms. He promised to remember this moment for all eternity and describe it to her Celebrian when he reached Valinor.

Slowly he moved and placed her head upon the pillow. He stole one last kiss on her forehead before leaving the room. He walked silently down the hall, tears cascading unheeded from his eyes. She would be safe with Estel, but he wished her choice had been to sail. He looked in on all his sleeping children one by one and then returned to his room. He would be forever touched by them. His eyes now glazed over in sleep, where he dreamed once more of all his beloved family.
