Alien Trouble
Times are rough. Plainly. The greenbacks don't roll in anymore,
and I wouldn't mind a case on a counterfeiting jig. But I don't make cases, I
take them. The name's Bullet, Tracer Bullet.
But today wasn't a usual day in the life. I could feel the
tension in the streets, I knew something was going to explode, it was
different.. Whether it be a dame or the tax collector, I was ready. And so were
my friends.
One thing that makes me the best P.I. in this town, is that I
can tell a man by his footsteps. The Mayor has sharp quick footsteps that pierce
the hallway because of the expensive leather. The criminal mastermind, Moe, has
soft, slow steps which do not echo. A dame has high heels on. I can tell
everyone apart who comes to my door, but I said before, today is different.
They entered, no footsteps, no sound, not even a creak of the
door. I jumped from my light nap when the sharp, high voice pierced.
"Human!"
"Wha...The name's Bullet."
"Well Bullet, you are the leader of this..city?"
"Where are you?"
"You mean us, Earthling. Down."
And they were there. I looked down to see the small aliens standing beside me, or what appeared to be standing.
"You are the leader here?"
"Why...why, yes."
"Ah, what luck. I told you the Leader would be here Galaxar. The 'Eye' never lies."
"Nebular, you are the better one, this time."
Galaxar and Nebular. I'll make note of that when I can tell them apart by their goofy hats
"What 'Eye'?"
"The one on your door."
Of course, that eye. Somehow they have a connection with eyes.
"What do you want."
"Mister Bullet, we want your city."
"You can't just take over the city."
"We can, and we will."
Tough guys...
I thought quickly. Then it hit me, I could bargain with these Aliens, to pay off a few Bills I know.
"I expect pay for this city."
"Foolish human, state your price."
I will then, the biggest number in my head.
"I want 50000 dollars by tonight, or the deal is off."
"We can do that, we'll see you tonight."
I laughed to myself. I could pay off my debts and get the Mayor overthrown because of the Aliens. It was all too good to be true.
