A/N Heyaz! I'm back with another daring crossover. Ok, as I said, this will be a Harry Potter/Magic Knight Rayearth Crossover. A couple of notes: first of all, this story is AU. It's set when the girls are back in Tokyo. When exactly? Who knows? Definitely after they become Magic Knights, but other than that…*shrugz* I only have read manga numbers 1-4
Prologue: An Unexpected SummonsShidou Hikaru blinked at the old man in front of her in surprise. "What do you mean, I've been accepted to a high school in England," she paused for a moment, trying to say the outlandish name, "Dom-bel-dor," for a moment, she understood how the people of Cephiro felt trying to pronounce her own name, "-san? I didn't apply to any school in England."
Albus Dumbledore smiled kindly at her. "This isn't a school you apply to, Hikaru," he replied in Japanese that would have been perfect if not for his accent. "It isn't a normal school. It is a school of magic."
Hikaru's breath caught in her throat. She thought magic was only existed in Cephiro. "Are you crazy?" She forced herself to laugh. "Magic, indeed, Dombeldor-san! I am not a child to be caught up in this joke you are playing." She reached down to pick up the tea mugs. "If you'll excuse me, I have other things to attend to." Heart pounding, she turned to leave.
"Hear me out, Hikaru," Dumbledore called to her. Hikaru complied almost against her will. Could this man really teach her magic? Was he a guru like Clef? She hardly dared hope…
"Now," Dumbledore continued, "normally you would have been invited to a school of witchcraft and wizardry several years earlier, and you would have gone to a school in Japan, rather than all the way to Hogwarts in England. But you, and two others that you will meet later," Umi and Fuu? She hoped so, "just recently started to show signs of magic. That in itself is strange enough; magic tends to manifest very early in life and comes out often when one is extremely emotional. But the magic we detected in you three was something we had never seen before. The Japanese Ministry of Magic dismissed it, so I, Headmaster of Hogwarts, asked for the teaching of you three." His blue eyes twinkled merrily above his half moon spectacles. "We at Hogwarts are used to unusual cases. So if you agree, I would like to help you find a way to harness the power within you." He stood up. "You don't have to answer me, now. I'll give you a week to think it over. If your answer is yes, be packed and ready by then. If it is not, don't bother. Oh, and don't worry about school supplies and such- that will be taken care of later- just bring a suitable amount of money, and we will exchange it, alright?" That said, he disappeared with an audible 'pop!'
Hikaru stared for a moment in surprise. Surprise and the hope that she finally let grow inside of her. Maybe…but first she had to speak with Umi and Fuu, and fast!
A/N r&r pleez. And no flames; that's what Rayearth is for. Oh, btw: if Hikaru, Umi and Fuu decide to go to Hogwarts, what Houses should they be in? Should they all be together, or separate? Should they even accept the summons to Hogwarts or not? I await your feedback and if you don't give any, I'll write more anyway. Arigatou!
