I Weep for Your Presence
Since I first breathed the air,
Since I first opened my eyes to meet yours, so fair.
There sprung a love between me and you,
A love that just grew and grew.
For granted, I took it, as a child
Who seeked only fun and fun.
But as I grew to become me today,
I have seen more value in your love.
The senseless quarrels of each other's ways
That resulted in hostile silence for days,
Had made me think of our time.
As time grows, so do you and I.
I think of the time to come
When you won't be by my side.
And like a tree that has drunk the rain; your love, for years,
Would wither and die in a drought.
And in my sleep, I weep for your presence forever.
