The Breakfast Club
WARNING: NOT A CHAPTER YET. THIS IS A CRY FOR HELP, AND REVEIWS, TO GET ME STARTED ON WRITING THIS STORY. PLEASE READ ON, IT WILL BE A GOOD STORY AT SOME POINT. I JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE INSPIRATION.
A/N: Hey. This will not be some sad and pathetic rip off of the amazing film. It shares a title with the John Hughes film because the concept is the same; a group of vastly different people in a room for a Saturday detention. I'm having a few issues around the idea. I've never written fanfic, let alone HP Fanfic, so there is the challenge of me getting used to writing other people's characters. They may be a bit distorted or OOC, but it should be an entertaining story if I manage to write it. I also don't really know who should be in it. I know Hermione and Draco, and I would like to Potter as the golden athlete. The problem with Harry is his relationship with Hermione. If I have anyone who is friends then instantly the story becomes fake. They have no reason to even glance at anyone else unless they are alone and outside their comfort zone. If they have friends they'll just sit there chatting. So I could go AU and say they never met; I could choose someone different; or I could write it with them as friends, with some help and suggestions. I don't know who to use for the other two roles: Basket-case and Princess. Neville might be able to do basket-case, but I dunno. I could make up characters, if that's what you guys want. That's about who plays the different characters, but about how they react to each other…
I'm a little bit on the fence as to shippage. I'm a lover of both Hermione/Draco and Hermione/Ron. I think this fic might have her with Draco, since Ron isn't really involved. Another thing is that I'm really going to have to fight my instincts and not try to mold it with the film. The brain will get action, and the jock might not end up with basket-case and such. I'm not going to have same events happen in the story as in the movie. But it will be a small struggle to let the story take on it's own voice. I think it will though, and I'm excited. I saw a story kind of like this, except that everyone became best pals in a second and the whole detention was one "let's tell each other our deepest secrets" love-fest. I started thinking about Breakfast Club and the connections, and it forced be to write it. I had no intention of morphing from 'avid fanfic reader' to 'Fanfic Writer'. That title was just a little too geeky, plus I didn't know if I was a good enough writer to pull it off. But I couldn't fight it. This plotline made me.
Also, If I don't get enough review-age this story may not go on. I need support to write. Otherwise I lose interest/ or think about it but never actually write it down. (Most of my stories start as late night imaginings, and often continue as such.) Even if you don't exactly have something to say, reviewing to let me know that someone is actually reading this is great. Also, tell me whatever you want to happen in the story. It may not happen, but it's great to have ideas. I think I'll just post this bit. I was considering writing something to go along with this, but I really can't figure out who to have as the characters (it doesn't help that all my books are at my mom's house, and I'm at dad's.) So I'll post this and wait for reviews, *winkwink*
